Ehh, sure if they legalize it then fine that's good. If not, I couldn't really care less because I can still use bitcoin regardless if it's legal or illegal anyway. Being able to use it even if it's illegal is one of the main points of it in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

I definitely would prefer some kind of clarification about the legality status because left to the mainstream media, it has only been negativity. More importantly, media fails to make the distinction between Bitcoin and other crypto. Most of the times they start by explaining bitcoin and then jump to shit like XRP. I feel this is more an indication of there being zero actual research by the media houses as they leave such articles to "influencers".

I love my country and I love bitcoin. If they make a stupid decision and declare it illegal or something to use, I'll have a hard time choosing between the two.

If the regulatory clouds are removed, i think bitcoin will be great for countries. For one, I'd love to see politicians and technocrats in administration adopt the bitcoin chain for use of governments funds and disbursements. Transparent and secure.

Possibly, we can put it this way – Bitcoin is still legal in many countries and illegal in A Few countries. Truth is most countries are simply sitting on the fence on the Bitcoin issue. Until recently when the Nigerian government came out openly and put a ban on it, it sat on the fence. Howbeit the ban, Nigerians haven't still relented on trading in Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies and rendering the ban of no effect. Whether legalizing Bitcoin or not, people will continue to trade and hodl it. In fact, for the fact that the government is against (without any cogent reason) is what has drawn more attention to it. I think I like regulation for the crypto industry, provided it won't be one that will strangulate what Bitcoin/cryptos stand for. Otherwise, Bitcoin is better left the way it's.

The main difference would be if it's legal tender or not.

And that's mainly because you wouldn't have to pay capital gains tax on it, which would be great.

Bitcoin is legal in most countries, but it is legal as a "commodity" and not legal tender. The reason for this is simple, because the governments of the world are protecting their monopoly on printing fiat currencies. They do not want any "private" currency to replace the fiat currency that they control.

We need to understand that the world economy is artificially kept alive, through the manipulation of local currencies ... the Reserve Banks determine the supply of currencies and they manipulate the value of those currencies.  ::)  Why will they allow a competitor that are not controlled by them?

It's important to keep in mind that the main point of making bitcoin legal is that governments want to control its usage, which basically means if someone is using bitcoin in a way that hasn't been approved by authorities, he is none other than a criminal. Legal bitcoin is boring because that means it has been deprived of its main features: you can't send your transaction to whatever people you want, you can't buy bitcoin anonymously, you can't trade on decentralized and KYC-free exchanges, you may be even not allowed to have a node running, and, of course, you can't mine transactions that are in a blacklist. Anyone wanting bitcoin to be allowed in his country doesn't really realize what he is asking for.


Legal tender laws were introduced specifically for fiat money for the reason that fiat cannot withstand competition with better money, thus it needs to be coercively imposed. Bitcoin obviously doesn't need such protection.

when you say legalize, do you mean make it as a legal tender like what El Salvador did? if that is the case then.

it's not that I feel the need but it'll be nice to be able to use bitcoin to my favorite stores or buy daily neccesities without me needing to exchange it into fiat first.

I am not an expert in economics I don't much what effects it'll have in the country.

Of course, what you desire may also be desired by almost many who are involved in crypto, it will certainly make it easier for us to do what we do. because there are rules that are also made to at least protect users from people who might do harmful actions.

but of course it is not easy, because the state will always look at it from all aspects so that there is no misuse that could be detrimental to the country which will later be used as money laundering from the escape of criminal acts.

so let everything be calculated correctly, good and bad and not just because it accommodates what is our convenience.

Yes, but it will need a long time to see bitcoin become legal in my country and other countries.

I think so because with legalize bitcoin in my country, people will not have to be afraid of using bitcoin and use it for many things.

I am positive because that can give you a new way to invest and make money term.

Hopefully, there are no problems for us and people to use bitcoin from now on and in the future and we can use it daily.

Maybe it will improve but it needs time before we will see what field will improve. But people who try to make money from bitcoin will have a new way to earn money.

In my country, Government tend to ignore this matter unless they will have something to get on it personally. IIRC, There is no government official except to Manny Pacquiao that shows interest in crypto that's why SEC here are very slow to adapt Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency in general. But of course who would not like to see Bitcoin as legal currency in there respective country though? The main question is when will government will start to care.

As in you can used it to transact inside your country? Why not?


If it's being legalised then there will be the appropriate incentives for us.

We have seen people having their financial freedom when they involved themselves into bitcoin. As for the effect on the country itself, still early to say, but we have El Salvador "experiment" right now. So maybe in the next 2-5 years we will see if it did improved or damage their country as a result of legalising bitcoin and then getting into the bitcoin mining business as well.

It doesn't matter whether Bitcoin is legal or illegal, the important thing is that my country does not prohibit and does not order, the risk is borne by the Bitcoin users themselves in investing and trading crypto, there is no law to sue in case of loss and conversely no law to sue if a Bitcoin user succeeds.

Bottom line: for now is better, than a lot of rules.

What's even more great my country is not participating like China did recently, my country's authorities say we don't join China, that's the best thing for Bitcoin users in my country.

I don't think that the question about legalization is too important for Bitcoin. In most countries in the world Bitcoin is legal (ie it is allowed to use it). Only a few countries ban Bitcoin.

Much more important question for me at least is how does a country handle Bitcoin (and all cryptocurrencies) tax-wise.

A prohibitive practice of taxing cryptocurrencies might render an otherwise legal currency de facto illegal. Meaning that people will avoid using it due to regulations that are not directly aimed at harming crypto.

Everything in my eyes about bitcoin is positive , because i trust bitcoin and i will keep in trusting this till all the country in the world accept thi.

For me personally, in my country it is not yet officially legalized, but there is no prohibition at all to enter into Bitcoin and other cryptos. I don't think this is a problem, even though the government has not fully responded to cryptocurrencies... but citizens can still get the advantages and benefits of Bitcoin so they can boost their respective financial conditions.

Whether legalized or not, everyone would want to see Bitcoin legal in their country. I think it's actually Bitcoin given effect to the positive side and can advance its citizens, it's just that the government is still considering several things related to the risk.

There's no need to legalize bitcoin, what they need to show is that they're willing to adopt cryptocurrencies in all aspect. It's all that they have to do and there's no need to make it as a legal tender just as what others have been thinking.
It's not that because it's not a legal tender, bitcoin's influence as an asset will change, no, it remains the same and it can work even perfectly being adopted despite not a legal tender.

This question is not that simple. Intuitively, it seems good that cryptos get legalized. However, this also means they get regulated, and the regulations can be very different. If it's legalized as a form of money (legal tender), it's awesome because it means that Bitcoin is not taxed as such and only other taxes, depending on the character of the activity, are expected to be paid. If it's legalized as property, on the other hand, Bitcoin is taxed on its own and property taxes are sometimes very high. It also depends on the initial state before the regulation: it can be outright banned, or it can be in the neutral gray area. If it's banned, then regulations are good news. But if it is in the gray area, it's actually quite comfortable to use it. In my country, it used to be in the gray area, and now cryptos are officially legal, but the tax implications weren't figured out yet, so I don't know if this is good news.

Bitcoin legalization in my opinion is very important, if the state limits or even totally bans bitcoin it will be difficult to receive cash from bitcoin transactions, of course this is the hope of all users around the world so that if it is legalized then bitcoin will be equivalent to other types of investments.

I would definitely want that, without any doubt! My country houses 1.3 billion people so if bitcoin is made legal here, the demand will skyrocket beyond expectation. Also I believe it will help my country in generating employment for tech savy millenials which will in turn boost tax revenues. The businesses around this sector will become more streamlined. So it's definitely a positive.

Not really, to be honest I prefer if they stay neutral about it and continue doing power plays to stay in power and be corrupt than have themselves dabble in crypto scene, they're not deserving of it and most of the time, they're going to make a regulation that's only favorable to them and not the people.

It depends on how they make it legal, in some countries the governments will make bitcoin legal and force people to use the local centralized exchanges so the government can easily track them and their funds, and later they will need to pay tax for each exchange they do and each asset they hold if my government is trying to do such thing I prefer to never see bitcoin legal in my country because in my own idea whole point of bitcoin is to have the economic privacy and don't let anyone know about your funds.

I am living in a country where cryptocurrency is already 100% legal. Some of the critics want it to be made illegal again, citing increased usage in illegal activities. But in general no one really pays much attention to these losers. Now taking the bigger picture, the economy in my country, as well as the national currency is quite strong (unlike the case in some of the neighboring nations where they have manipulated economy and national currency). So we don't have much to worry about the economic impact of the cryptocurrency.

Our country welcomed and embraced cryptocurrency way back in 2015 up until to this date. The usage of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency coins are legal however, it was made clear by our central organization that any cryptocurrency coin isn't backed up by any goods nor recognized as a currency because it isn't issued by the banks themselves. They made cryptocurrency legal and regulates it in accordance with a circular they have made under the central bank's jurisdiction.

Despite crypto being legal here in our country, there are still only a few banks that are crypto-friendly. Most of the banks do not accept money that came from cryptocurrency and they do not allow crypto transactions. There are only a few platforms and digital banking apps that are allowing such, making it hard to process transactions using your debit/credit card. Hence, you'll have to find other ways to cash in money to trading platforms or to deposit your hard-earned money from doing crypto. Otherwise, they'll tag your account with unusual activities, eventually closing or totally banning your account.

I hope there would be more banks that will be crypto-friendly because I can hardly name a few here in our country making it difficult to most of us to use the usual accounts we have. In terms of legality, sure we do feel it here because we can do any crypto-related things such as trading, investing, and the likes. The issue just lies on the banks really because most of them have a negative perception when you tell them that you make money from crypto.

Yes for sure many of us would like to see bitcoin became legal to our country since we will not struggled to do more transaction in terms of withdrawals and also we can use bitcoin everywhere especially on physical merchants to buy something what we like.

But what I don't like about this idea is the taxation since for sure government will take a huge percentage tax from our transactions or profits.

according to my estimation, everyone on this forum, definitely wants bitcoin legal in their country, including me personally, I really want bitcoin legal in my country, but what can I do, the government in my country is currently focusing on the covit problem, and corruption problem, so the government in my country doesn't think about bitcoin at all..

As it’s currently not legalised, so we are facing many difficulties in exchanging the money to FIAT.
Yes i too agree all the things have a bad side effect and that is the part that the scammers take advantage.

I don't want bitcoin in my country to be legalized because if bitcoin is legalized then the fiat value in my country has no value, I'm happy with the current situation bitcoin in my country is still illegal and bitcoin holders are not penalized.

Yes, we want it to be legalized in my country. Based on the evidence we had see concerning other countries that made bitcoin legalized in their countries and how their economy is doing well. If bitcoin is legalized in my country many things will change positively in my business and other citizens business because we have the knowledge of how to use it positively in the country. If bitcoin legalized in my country it will not damage anything in the country than to improve the economy the covid-19 has reduced to zero level .

If the government can make it legalized in the country, it will really help undergraduate in the country. Many graduate will make use of the opportunity  positively in the community.

In our country btc is not legal yet. The government still states that bitcoin is not a legal tender. But regardless of whether it is illegal or not, the most important thing is that we are not prohibited from investing and transacting with bitcoin. So far it's still not a problem in my opinion. In fact, if it is legal, there is a fear that the government will regulate all of our freedoms until bitcoin loses its character. Because usually something that is legal there will be rules that must be submitted to the government.

Bitcoin is a legal asset in my country as a commodity asset based on government decision. But bitcoin is still not legal as legal tender or legal currency in my country because it is against existing regulation and I don't see the government considering its legality as a legal currency in the near future.

It doesn't matter if the government doesn't want to legalize bitcoin as a legal currency as long as they still don't mind legalizing it as a tradable asset. In fact I can use it as a means of payment especially with those who agree without having to disclose the purpose of the transaction to anyone except between the buyer and seller. Legalization in my country will only serve as an advertisement for the nation. We are free to do what ever we want with it with no regulation and possible ban. However due to this, scam is very prone specially to the newbies. Its sad that only few are gaining interest in crypto and they are focusing in other things. We don't need the government to accept bitcoin as legal tender like El Salvador, it would be better if all countries accepted bitcoin and bitcoin users would be protected by law. On the contrary, if bitcoin is not legal then it will not affect the development of bitcoin and people will still use and trade it somehow. In fact, bitcoin is still being traded in countries that do not yet accept it legally.

As long as the State doesn't get in the way its ok. Too much regulation isn't good either, then we get things like KYC/AML, next thing you know someone steals that data and sell it to crooks to find you...

The less State, the better. Some of the "gray area" countries are friendlier to Bitcoin than "legal" countries when they want to tax your "possessions" or what not.

"Revealing" to "prove" you are not a criminal, gives criminals the very information they need to commit a crime against you. Sometimes they are even part of that very State...

Not revealing your honest earnings doesn't mean you have "something to hide", but that you don't want to be "found" by the wrong people...

Reminds me when we try to warn foreigners to not bring any Apple products or wear any jewelry. If you casually show you are in possession of an iPhone, its the same as painting a target to your body, you WILL get mugged (at gunpoint) or worse. Well same thing.

I don't think so because the crypto regulations in my country currently allow trading and owning crypto as long as it's not used as a means of payment. Bitcoin is legal where I live but there are too many regulations that are making a lot of people to not want to deal with cryptocurrencies because of it, and while I would like those regulations to not be so strict at the same time I know that is precisely why they were created that way, so I care about that but only because I want other people to be part of this market because when it comes to me I do not care if the government declared that bitcoin was illegal I will still hold it.

The place where you made the post most of all here is Bitcoin lover. So definitely all we love to see Bitcoin legalize in our country. My thought is if a government accepts Bitcoin as legal tender, both will be benefited from that, citizens & the government as well. Because it will be easier to use for users and the government will get tax. The thought about the crime isn't valid IMO banning Bitcoin. Because still, criminals are using both fiat and Bitcoin. It wouldn't be a good reason to not legalize Bitcoin. We should walk with the trend.

As far as I know, in my country BTC is legalized, but it is available only in large cities. It would certainly be nice if BTC were available in all cities of my country, then this would probably be a positive trend for the adoption of BTC, but since this is not currently available, I personally cannot use BTC in my city, but what to go to a larger city is very expensive. However, I still hope that in the near future everything will change and BTC will become more accessible and then more people will be able to use BTC and this will positively affect its adoption in the world.

I am madly waiting for that day when my country's news channel telecasts our country's government's approval to buy/sell in our country. There are many countries allow to use BTC as payment currency which means if anyone wants to buy any products he or she give the products price by BTC  instead of money . It is really big opportunity for American people but I my country it is not possible because BTC is completely illegal. I obviously want to see Bitcoin is legal in my country and it should be because the world economy has been changed .we are going to follow a new world order.

Personally I don't want, because I feel it's not necessary since the way we can already use bitcoin is good enough. Furthermore, when you live in a corrupt dirty country you prefer regulators interfering in less matters as possible, so you don't need to worry about being abused by them. However I know it's inevitable and in the next years bitcoin is probably going to become legal in most countries including mine.

When this happens it will be good for increasing adoption among laypeople, but also good for the corrupt government and their allies to fill their pockets with more money from the population. I suppose everyone profits, even those who don't deserve it...

Yes, I want cryptocurrency including of course Bitcoin to be legal in my country and I want that there will be a clear, concise and forward-looking regulatory framework so that scammers who are using cryptocurrencies can be punished and be prosecuted to the fullest intent of the law so they can't continue destroying the name of cryptocurrency in the eyes of the people. As of my, my country is not treating Bitcoin illegally and there are some outfits operating business here for cryptocurrency but there is still no law focusing just on cryptocurrency so they are being treated just like forex.

As a crypto enthusiast and as an investor, we would be happy if bitcoin is not prohibited or illegal in our country. I am maybe one of the lucky people that live in a country where bitcoin is illegal, though I must say that bitcoin is not yet fully legal in our country, the way I see it, I believe that the government is very positive about crypto due to the revenue coming in their pocket through taxes.

My greatest happiness would be if they will declare bitcoin as a legal currency.

Btc along with crypto is ban in my country. I personally love to see it getting legal in my country. The region where I live has fragile laws and influential people can take money out of country very easily. In Panama papers and in recent Pandora papers there are considerable no of people from my region. If btc gets its status as legal tender here chances are that such issues of money laundering may gets worse. That's why government is in no mood of legalising it.

I hope that my country will soon legalize bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, there will be many opportunities and benefits that people and the government can get if they legalize bitcoin, and the benefits that people can immediately feel are that they can increase their income so that they can reduce poverty and unemployment.

If it is legalized in its entirety, I think the freedom that has been the hallmark of the use of bitcoin will disappear because we will be subject to transaction taxes and the government will also issue regulations and if it is not in accordance with our wishes, we inevitably have to follow it.
I am more comfortable as I am now because in the country where I live bitcoin is only allowed as an asset or investment and is not allowed to be used as any payment transaction, and another reason I am more comfortable using bitcoin as an investment or asset that can store value. and I'm more comfortable keeping it than using it as a means of payment because it will eventually run out.

and if bitcoin is legalized in my country, it doesn't matter to me and like it or not I have to agree to it even though there will be rules and also taxation, the most important thing is that I can still use bitcoin and prefer to keep it than use it as a means of payment, and the difference is if many countries have legalize it then the sharp decline will no longer exist because the decline that occurs will create tremendous profits.

Of course, bitcoin deserves to be legalized immediately because it has been proven to provide hope and profit for anyone who invests bitcoin, if the number of users continues to increase then there is no reason for the country to ban bitcoin so that bitcoin benefits more and more for everyone.

I do not feel the "need", because surely the government will take regulations after that legalization and I do not want government to ever touch, know nor see the Bitcoins I am holding. Making it illegal would just make the usual transactions hard, since I might need other people around me to either trade or pay something to them.

What do you mean by "improving" the country though? I do not have that sight that Bitcoin alone would just make an entire nation "better", if it is a poverty that we are talking about.

Maybe when we answer immediately, hoping bitcoin will be legal is almost a priority but when taking a stance between interests, considering the country as well as considering life, the winning side is sometimes the side of the naysayers, even those who initially agreed tend to turn to the opposing side quite a bit after a bit of thinking. Not too much improvement in EI Salvador, too many people are not adapted to bitcoin, cumbersome procedures and too many applications, maybe after a few months they will get used to it but the veil of mystery is still too much in bitcoin

Yes I want, sure. That will have many different and positive impacts. More people will invest, usage will be much bigger and that will be new moment with big price rise cos everybody will want to have some amount of bitcoin. Big positive things will bring if that happen, but I think it is far away still.

not many countries have legalized bitcoin because it would be against the financial system of a country, and it would be very risky if the country legalized bitcoin. there are many things that a state government cannot control properly if they legalize bitcoin.
Currently, many countries are silent without legalizing it without prohibiting it, no one knows what will happen in the future.

That regulation is usually what we think when it was legalized by the government but I hope they will just be fair for the user and implementing rules that both the government and the users/investors will agree. That is somewhat a sort of market adjustment but this is could protect the merchants and once it was legalized, we never know many establishments will start to accept Bitcoin as they know that there is a law that could help them.

Already glad bitcoin in my country still not regulated, i mean it not illegal but there are no regulation with it and people still can use it as an assets. Yes, I mean who doesn't want to? Having a legal status means that you're not to be worried about law because it's on your side and at the same time you're protected since they recognize bitcoin or better yet crypto as a legal thing.

Not really. Crypto currencies (bitcoin) isn't really illegal in many countries. Only just few countries decided to ban the usage of crypto currencies. Most of them are underdeveloped countries that has no proper framework to regulate crypto currencies. Hence, they put a ban so that people don't use it for corruption (even though their government are the corrupted ones) or any illegal activities. But people still use it over there since the government has no way to track them. Look at Nigeria. Central Bank issued a ban. People still do p2p  trading and yet no one faced any trouble. They will eventually lift those bans once they get a proper understanding of how crypto currencies work.

The legalization of BTC in the country would have its drawbacks. As much as its exposure is beneficial, stringent regulations would be imposed that may potentially destroy its volatility in the process.

Giving a friendly regulation to bitcoin will attract a lot of businesses and foreign investment, so why governments do not do something like this? Because they are afraid, they are afraid that they could lose complete control and people begin to use bitcoin more than their fiat, and with good reason, so instead of adopting bitcoin they want to limit it as much as they can not realizing it is impossible to do it and as such they are also missing on the taxes they could have received.

I don't really care about bitcoin being legal or illegal in my country. The important thing is that we are not prohibited from transacting and investing in bitcoin. I'm actually less optimistic if bitcoin will be legal in our country. What is clear is that there will be many rules that in my opinion reduce the space for bitcoin investors. And our freedom will obviously be limited . So the most important thing for us is not being banned, that's enough.

I don't understand how your country judicial system is about crypto-currency, but I think if crypto-currency isn't legal in my country or as many countries that means there is some ban placement on it,
My government actually didn't have ban on Crypto-currency before this year 2021, it was legal, you could do exchange to bank transaction with crypto-currency and not be bother about the government, but since the ban, although it still goes on but people are scared doing it.

bitcoin is fairly legal from where I am at, as I can freely use it without any repercussions. Although cryptocurrency activities are being sought by the government of ours as possible ventures to collect tax from which is going to be very annoying for those who rely heavily on investing and trading like me. Nonetheless I still see this as our government finally seeing cryptocurrencies for what it's worth and are doing efforts to integrate it into the system of society in one way or another. Well if it's to be made illegal in your country I don't really see you being able to use it altogether. You have to remember that there has to be some sort of consensus between the government and the operator before you are able to use these types of services, and have one end of the rope disagree with the other, consensus is not achieved. So it is actually a big deal for whether bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency for that matter is legal or not in your territory. Because decentralized as it is, you aren't and you could be subject to sanctions for using bitcoin without prior permission.

As long as we are able to do transactions without limits then it would be fine. When it becomes legal there will be more stricter implementation of the law on it and atleast their is a unit or government organization to goto if some projects isn't doing well. But with this getting government involved can result to a much limited transactions due to stricter implementation of the law plus higher fees. I would prefer it to be still what it is now so we will be concern and careful on everything we do.

People Are Traditional Thinking, Just Want To Invest In Gold, That Is Not A Problem, But Why Not Invest In Both? Gold and Gold V2 (Bitcoin).

Me needing or wanting bitcoin to become legal in my country isn't the problem. The problem is that it is a far-fetched wish because the government on my country are majorly concerned about having power and control which is the real reason why they have a bank on commercial banks from facilitating crypto to bank transactions. Anybody that goes against that rule gets their accounts frozen.

The only reason that Bitcoin is illegal in certain countries nowadays is the government is afraid of their own people. It is a way for places like China and Russia to keep control of money flows, they don't want officials or businessmen to send money out of the country because if there is any instability they will run away as quick as possible. It actually shows how insecure the elites are when they start to enact these sort of bans and shows which countries are most open because they at a minimum tolerate it. I'm rather lucky to live in a country that is fairly open to it and is slowly updating all the laws to properly accommodate it in the future. The blockchain is the truly powerful piece of tech to come out of all of this.

I really hope Bitcoin is legal in my country but if it is legal it will cause a lot of problems. It's about taxes, but when BTC is legal, how will they start to control and collect taxes? , problems and laws and a lot of fear of being bound in buying and selling transactions and especially the freedom to own bitcoin will be controlled by banks and laws and I think one thing for sure is that at that time BTC there will be no more anonymity but every transaction will be required by KYC and they will control all our activities.

To be honest I like how our government treated bitcoins in our country but to further support and give people ideas about it. I agree to have the government promote it in their own way so that people will recognize and use it to their own advantage like for example accept it as a means of payment in their stores and some kind of services like we have seen in India where the Motorcycle driver accepts bitcoins as payment.

Of course, I want to see Bitcoin legal in my country. There are huge financial problems & unemployment in my country and Bitcoin will work as relief for these problems. It will provide an opportunity for young and old to do something to improve their economy. And with hard work, study and after getting experience they will able to do much better to run their home economy.

In my country Philippines, we are considered as one of the most friendly out there despite that it’s not personally endorsed by the central bank. In other words, it’s neither legal nor illegal and already classified as a security. Unionbank, which is one of the most outstanding banks in the country, has it’s own government-regulated crypto ATM, the first in the history of this country. So far no problems here, it’s just that some Philippine-based banks are anti-crypto like BDO, BPI and RCBC.

But the fact is not, still has the shadow that Bitcoin is a threat to state finances and forces the printing of money to be bigger. Well, in our country, Crypto is somehow in the middle. It's not that literally legal but at the same time is not illegal. Our Government has just released a statement to be cautious in transacting Bitcoin/Crypto, by just that they are implying that we can freely trade but there's no actual law somehow to protect and regulate the latter. I don't want bitcoin legal in my country because there are many factors to think about what if the currency in my country dies and there is no price, for example, to buy one pen, I have to bring a lot of money and those who hold bitcoins will be taxed the more you hold bitcoin, the more taxes you have to spend. I am very comfortable in my country even though it is not legalized at least my assets are not taxed and I am still free and not penalized.

Other countries are banned but in my country, bitcoin and crypto are neither legal nor illegal. So far bitcoin has given a lot of impacts on the society and improvement of our economy which is a good thing. People who are unemployed, a student, a person who wasn't able to get college degree and those that needed money for livelihood will be given a chance to earn through crypto. TBH, our country isn't doing that much when it comes to crypto. They are allowing us to use it but they are spreading awareness against scams and prevention from hacking which is really a good thing if you will ask me. Thankfully, bitcoin is still not criminalized in most countries. While some countries seem ready to start embracing it, others are showing resistance. In Europe, even though the European Central Bank, has sent out a few alerts regarding cryptocurrencies, we still have financial freedom and there is no regulation in place. In my country only now the government is starting to be aware of this new technology, but up until now, no stifling laws have been passed. I hope it stays that way.

Only few have legalized crypto but most of them are simply unable to understand crypto and hence they are not clear whether they should allow crypto or ban it. They are just silence in this matter.  The government officials think that if they allow crypto, they wont be able to control the money flow. This lack of understanding is a big hurdle in legalizing crypto.

Its only a matter of time, until the question of whether it should be legal or not is out of the hands of the government, I would say.

When it is legal in your country you are going to have the freedom to use it anywhere in the country and not run into any kind of problem with the law in the country. Well if you are asking that BTC will be legalized in its true form aka as decentralized p2p cash transfer then its a BIG NO from governments. The reason is very straight forward, since this will take financial control out from the hands of the governments. Something cant given up by govts. But if we talk about legalizing BTC in a manner where governments can see wts happening around i.e. through exchanges then yes its very much possible and happening in many countries.

Recently virtual currencies were legalized and cryptocurrency exchanges are now regulated in our country, however bitcoin and other "virtual currencies" are still not recognized as a currency because we all know that government does not  want a currency that they have no control over it.
If bitcoin is legalized, it can help our government through taxes and people will become complacent and comfortable in using it.

They can still benefit from crypto even if they will not consider it as a legal tender yet, and yes they can't control bitcoin because no one can control bitcoin due to its decentralized nature. As they regulated the exchanges, that means the exchanges will pay taxes, and people who are making a profit from cryptocurrency transactions or ventures are also obliged to pay taxes. If only bitcoin is not volatile, it would be easier for the government to consider it as a legal tender as there's no risk in using it.

Unfortunately, it is true. I think most governments will have to recognize cryptocurrencies as full-fledged money over time, but now they don't really know how to do it. Of course governments don't like anonymity and most of all don't want to give up control over finances. But sooner or later they will have to do it. It is only a matter of time, in my opinion.

Wanting a cryptocurrency to be legalized obviously many would want that but they may come with more disadvantages than advantages ,
first off if you want to use BTC or any other cryptocurrency to be used in for daily transaction wouldn't  you feel restricted to think cryptos as investment and not use them like normal fiat currencies, wouldn't you think as if you are giving 10 bucks for the pizza or would you regret giving some tokens that may be of high value in near future , people would still treat cryptocurrency as investment rather that mode of transaction due to the highly fluctuating value ,
even if the purpose would be to introduce online payment almost every developed countries or developing country have working online apps linked with their bank accounts and some even having their own online wallets.

 
 

If my country legalized bitcoin I would be very pumped, but sadly I don't see that happening anytime soon and probably won't happen, my country is far behind on almost everything, maybe my only solution would be moving to another country that support it if I can and if it's worth it.

Maybe the citizens first need to step up before the government take action towards this new technology introduce to them since if many citizens on your country use cryptocurrency for sure the government will be pin up that there's ongoing new tech becoming viral on their jurisdiction. So maybe try to work spreading the word of it on your own first since little share on your social media timelines will help since your friends will start to notice and they will start digging information about it.

The majority will be happy as they do not have any problem paying the taxes they are due especially if the taxes are reasonable and the regulation is not excessive as it is the case in some countries, however you are correct when you say there is going to be a subset of the community that will be upset by this or will not cooperate at all with this, this reminds me when I saw a report about prostitution and whether the ones that engaged in such profession wanted the activity to be regulated and to the surprise of many the majority opposed precisely because they did not liked the idea of paying taxes.

In here, the government banned Cryptocurrency in general for payment gateway and as a currency. But the good thing is we can free to invest to other coins as for investment purpose is still allowed in here but still the government will still update the regulation about this purpose for better solution later. You are free to convert it to fiat and use it anywhere but pay something with cryptocurrency is prohibited.

bitcoin is allowed in my country and I hope more countries will legalize it. bitcoin is a digital currency that is growing rapidly nowadays and many countries are legalizing it, of course it has positive and negative sides in a country but I think if the country can use crypto well it will be a positive thing. a country certainly wants to experience development like other countries in accepting a new technology such as blockchain technology.

Here in India, we are having some positive vibes coming our side as our government has shown interest in regulating cryptocurrencies, which means legalization is on its way too. That way I thought of course there were many developed countries that ratified it, so that for developing countries, it would only follow, to facilitate bilateral relations with the developed country. Legalization means determining the legal status and establishing the rules for the circulation of cryptocurrency in society. Creation of infrastructure for such walking is possible only after its legalization.

Myself doesn't want my country to legalize cryptocurrency, because for years the country is making decisions and discussion on cryptocurrency regulations. Suddenly they announce it is banned and later they give different statement on adopting Blockchain technology. However in all time period I'm continuing to use it through one way or the other. For this reason even it is regulated/legalized isn't gonna be a big issue for me. Maybe if I'm a big holder I'll think of it.

As of now I'm satisfied with the recent decision of bitcoin being an asset and not a legal tender which is the base for further progress as legal tender.

Bitcoin is legal already in my country although it is only allowed to be a digital asset for now. All business and activities related to Bitcoin are allowed, except using Bitcoin as a payment tool. Someday, I expect to see Bitcoin can be a payment tool as well in my country. I think it is possible if Bitcoin has been already an international payment tool. Anyone that knows bitcoin and invest into it will like bitcoin to be legalize in his country, right now i can say that bitcoin is been legalize in all the countries across the world the basic things we have to put into consideration is that if bitcoin is legalize everywhere the amount of tax government will give people who is using it and it will make people to reject bitcoin, but some countries which bitcoin is fully recognize and adopted for any exchanges have never write to us here bad emphasise of bitcoin over there.

Well, for me I believe that it would be better if Bitcoin is made legal in my country thought now we can still trade it on different exchanges and do fiat withdrawals via P2P, it would be less restful and more profitable if it were not banned by the Government. In my country bitcoins are still legal and I hope its going to stay like this. The rising number of countries talking about banning crypto currencies makes me worry a bit. It wouldn't even need to be a ban, already strong regulations on bitcoins and other cryptos could be very bad for us. Somehow, the last few months they already keep an eye on crypto earner and wanted to implement every crypto earner to pay tax but unfortunately I don't think so how they may do it since they are not yet legalize crypto.

While in some countries, they only can use Bitcoin as a digital asset. And those people who are not lucky because their countries ban Bitcoin, may need to wait for the time when the governments legalize it. Well, Bitcoin is not set as illegal here, but even the Government is not making bitcoin as legal tender its not a problem since we are not prohibited to use it. My country grants Crypto legal permission only as an asset, not as a means of payment. That alone has made me very happy. I am very confused if my country will ban all crypto-related activities.  My country making it legal within commodity limits has provided enough room for traders to improve their financial. I didn't expect more, the space given in my country was already huge. Well on my side, I don't want legalization but I like my country towards crypto or bitcoin treatment --they don't want to legalize it but they quite keep not telling to these people. I agree that as long as the government of our country does not prohibit the use of crypto at all, it is very good. Although it is only allowed as
a digital asset and prohibited from using it as payment, we should be grateful for it. Because there are still some countries that prohibit their
citizens from using crypto at all, and must make its citizens have to covertly if they want to use crypto. But I believe the government's decision

In my country Bitcoin is illegal. Government concern it as a money laundering but there's a possibility to get crypto as a legal tender or it should be accepted by government. PayPal announced that they will start their journey on December I'm sencerily looking for it. If it's get approved on our country we may see crypto as well.
