Title: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction
Post by: Hamaber on February 12, 2022, 02:11:36 PM
It often become a good opportunity when you sell at a peak and after that the correction come and you buy again with low price but many people miss that opportunity who then regret but I do not regret when I miss that opportunity because I do not do greed and remain satisfied with my current amount of coins and I know in the future the price will grow again to another ATH and my current coins are enough to give me enough profit. With this thought I keep myself tension free.

What is your views and conditions at that time?

Im still hundreds of times ROI. Im fine with this. I do believe the bitcoin cycle will always come when the halving will be done by bitcoin. Less inflation means much more easy to increase. I have learned a lot from so many long term hodlers in the past a long as the project was legit and we can become the next winner. I do believe with project that i have invested on it.

Im seeing it so many people are making a lot of money caused by they were able to sell at ATH but again the chance will always there for the long term holders to get a big surprise. Don't you see what happened with SAND, MANA and many more. Those tokens are growing so hard. The long term hodlers since icos become new millionaire.

I always think that selling in ATH just a matter of luck, you could never know if this current price point gonna be the ATH because sometimes it’s always unpredicted.
that’s the reason you should just set some kind of target so that you wouldn’t always regret if you missed the ATH because most of the time you just gonna be missing the ATH.
if you think that the future will give you an even higher ATH than the current price and you are already satisfied with the current achievement despite it’s lower than the ATH that you missed you still should just be relax because regardless you’re still making profit.

Yes, I am, sometimes, missing the chance to sell some coins in their last ATH makes me regret enough and this also teaches me more about not being too greedy and always on target.
Actually, regret means nothing and this will not turn back. but, this can be one of the worthy lessons for us, to know the right time to sell or take profits. Except that we are a long-term investor that has no problem if we are holding the coins for a longer time.

I always think that selling in ATH just a matter of luck, you could never know if this current price point gonna be the ATH because sometimes it’s always unpredicted.
Yes, that's right. because we don't know what will happen to the market after reaching a certain price rate. That is why we commonly miss the ATH that has been reached. Moreover, I ma also not a good analysis in the price chart

If you're long term believers and you're good with it. Im also missing to sell some of my tokens when it reached ATH a few months ago but im good with my current portfolios coz i have made lots of money from there. I personally think that will try to hodl it for long term. Crypto is about so many opportunities to come soon. It's not only giving you one or two opportunities but in crypto the opportunities for the next bullrun to bring us to the new ATH will always there.

What is your views and conditions at that time?
I don't have a problem with it. We will have another chance again to go to the moon soon. it's about bitcoin was triggering the dump but remember that bitcoin has limited supply and once this will be reached and the price of bitcoin will be so big. that means a big pump for altcoin as well. You can't deny the fact that if bitcoin will be going the moon even if we must have faced volatile price in bitcoin. Im feeling optimistic with bitcoin and crypto market for long term.

I don't think anyone has any regrets about skipping ATH, or selling before ATH. in the end they still made a profit so it couldn't be called regret. the only regret in crypto is those who buy at ATH, this is probably the regret that always gets stuck in FOMO. I've never experienced this myself, because when I fall behind, it won't force me to enter.

Not really.

If you have that attitude, then you are essentially going to be always selling too early. You could have said the same thing about selling at the 2017 ATH, but if you just held for another 4 years you would have been handsomely rewarded by a 3x from that ATH which is way above traditional money market returns.

It takes balls of steel for sure, but you should zoom out and look for long term trends as opposed to worrying about short term fluctuations and selling the top. Time in the market > timing the market.

As for me, it is just natural to feel some regrets because I failed to join the action when it should have been done to get more profits most especially in cryptocurrency market but then again if you look at it regretting will not do anything or solve anything so we might as well decide to ignore that kind of emotional backlash. The most important for me is that we are learning the possible lessons so that if there can be a new opportunity to make some profits then we should be grabbing it and then pray that you are making the best decision possible. In trading as in anything in life, there is really no guarantee whatsoever.

In fact, I'm quite sure that almost all participants in this market regret missed profit opportunities to varying degrees. After all, we are in this market not out of sporting interest, but for the sake of making a profit. It's just that over time, we realize that it is very difficult to predict the price movement in the market, and therefore such missed opportunities will happen periodically, and therefore they must be taken for granted. But we cannot say that we remain indifferent to such events. Man is an emotional being and regret, at least in a mild degree, will always be present.

Have faced this situation many times but keeping long term in mind we will always get a portion of profits. We can sell some stash at high prices which are new ATH for the market and keep the rest for long term. But once or twice i was greedy not to sell at ATH in hopes of gaining more but after it the market crashed so we face these issues but if plan for long term then it's absolutely fine.

well, when we miss ATH, of course many people will regret not selling their assets. Well, I've been through that a few times, and I'm sorry too.
however, it's a lesson that getting profits and feeling satisfied, it's enough compared to always hoping for more profits. Well, because I was greedy to get more profit, I passed ATH several times, and it was quite sad for me, especially when I was selling at a low price because I needed money. Yes, it is a risk if you want to get a higher profit. I'm sorry, so I made it a lesson.

I never try to regret any decision that i have taken before. There's no need to regret it and the chance will always come again later. We are on the bearish market didn't mean the market will be bearish forever. Just keep patience waiting for the next bullrun to happen soon. I have got a chance to sold some at ATH but i didn't manage to sell whole of my tokens at ATH as well. I don't care anymore about the bearish trend.
I believe that once bitcoin will be doing another halving means another bullish trend will come again soon.

Bitcoin was totally predictable but i didn't even manage myself to follow such forecast. How stupid im lol.  :D :D :D

I think the regret you mean is for futures traders or rather for day traders. Meanwhile, for long-term holders, they will not be too worried because the targets that have been set are very clear. So the possibility for a futures trader will be a risk in itself where those who miss-selling on ATH will inevitably wait longer and let the ATH moment pass.

Title: Re: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction

The regret will come when you are the ones waiting for the ATH but do you really know when and what the ATH will going to happen. If not, then why wait for unclear target? You should set your target price if you want to make some profit because waiting for the unclear and impossible target might take long or worst you will missed the profit then you just sell when it's in correction already.

Everyone will regret if they missed the opportunity to sell during the peak but that's okay since nobody knows what are the ATH. It's better if you have a future plans especially in bull run it's either you take your chances to make some profit or wait if it's still going to pump more but that's just greed if you put yourself on that situation.

Be contented with what you make, there is no way to know if the coin or token already reached its ATH all you need is to have a target, 2x ,3x etc once you reached that level then take your profit, as a crypto investors you should have a portfolio that will alert you on any price update in your wallet even trust wallet have this feature, very useful indeed.

I used to but now I’m always one step ahead while buying the crypto. Mostly focusing on bitcoin and few of the hot listed altcoins in market. For example, I was pretty sure that I am going to buy some coins for my portfolio in the year 2022 start. However things turned so good that the market was crashing and crashed so much that what I was going to spend got multiplied even further. This is because I knew that if I miss this then I will be a cry baby afterwards when the market jumps to higher green candle. So yup, it’s best advice to those who think they have the time. Well you don’t have it, you have to make it your luxury by buying at the right time.

Many people regret that when passing ATH, they did not have time to sell or buy after the correction occurred, ATH that occurred not only at the price that occurred at that time but ATH will occur not as we thought most people just focus Every new ATH wants to take advantage of the opportunity ,but I only sell half the coins or tokens that I hold then I sell when the next ATH occurs again and add some top altcoins to the portfolio to prepare for the next bull run to occur.
This is the reason why every trader or investor should set a target price when to sell or when to buy because we can't really predict if that price is already its last ATH, or there is waiting more ahead. This is to avoid missing chances, and regretting in the end. Although the market won't get tired on giving us lot of opportunities, but its still a big difference if we are able to do the right thing once a new ATH appears, or whenever we see a healthy correction.

It depends on the token or coin, if the coin is a meme coin or shitcoin then I will regret if I don't dump when it's surging but if the project has good utility I will risk holding for a long term.

No one knows for sure about the exact arrival of ATH crypto. Therefore, when everyone is unprepared, there are always surprises in market movements. The analysis is also not as easy as imagined. Therefore, when we are faced with Bullrun. Along with the implementation of the trading strategy, maybe we will not lag when it goes up and when the price is ready we take a deep correction line. The concern remains the same, namely when taking entries in the correction line, mostly if without a trading strategy appears in the guess analysis.

indeed there is a little regret i didn't sell at ATH last time, i kept thinking if at that time i sold my bitcoin then now i can buy it back and my bitcoin becomes double.  but that's all in the past, all i can do right now is buy slowly when the market dips now.  in-depth analysis still needs to be done so as not to buy the wrong coin when the market dip.

There's no room for regrets in crypto, as you still have more chances to sell when bitcoin reaches new ATH. But if i were you, learn to set a target selling price because that will be your guide when to sell and make profits, and then just buy back again when the market creates another correction.

Staying satisfied with our  ROI make us benefit because if we will not remain satisfied then our greed will leave us with nothing.

Those who get benefit at ATH and buy back at low are full time in trade and they are expert traders. If we dream for that without giving time and without experience then we will lose.

the wish of making it double at times when you often miss the opportunities is dangerous for our coins. Because at that time we do not know about the trading pattern and in filling our this wish we often cut off its numbers instead of making them double.

Even if your mind have accepted it, there'll be small regret of missing the opportunity. I've personally experienced, opportunity missed is missed forever. I missed it during the year 2018, later I sold for a very low price. Till date the altcoin in which I missed the opportunity haven't reached its previous ATH. If there is no need for money, then this won't be a regret or makes you tensed. Most of the time the regret won't be on the growth, but on the timeline. Because, none knows how long we need to hold.

Most of the time people miss the opportunity not on greed, but upon the belief that the specific altcoin will grow even high.

Even if that's not a meme token and you will still regret it. You can imagine when it was reaching ATH and then dumped like 90% from ATH. You can make a lot of money and you can still buy back it again at the bottom price.
that means your tokens will be multiple compared when it was reaching ROI. It doesn't matter whether that's meme token or not but the problem is when you are holding meme token and once it surges a lot and you may not able to sell it again but when it's legit token and you may not able to sell it at ATH again or it will not possible to reach ATH again in the future. Just know that difference.

the most important thing is you are making profit from your investment regardless the future outcomes that could be disappointing if you keeps watching the chart even after you have no business with your investment that you already sold.
you couldn’t always make a 100% accurate prediction of an altcoins’ ATH. Instead if you are done with your investment in this altcoins and you have made your unrealized floating profits gets realized you should just look for other investment that could have a lot more potential than the ones that you’re already done with.
regretting over something that’s out of your control is simply pointless because at the end of the day, you have zero control over it, otherwise if predicting ATH is that easy, everyone would become master in investment easily but the reality is the opposite

Doesn't make sense if you sell at peak and then wait for the price to go lower again and re-invest. Why not just go long term, and see how long you can hold and wait for at least 2 bull runs before you sell your coin to maximize your profit?

At least with this strategy you don't need to time the market during it's first bull run. I know it's going to be tempting to sell, but it's hard to time the market as well. That's why it's really better just to hold on our coins for a long time.

It's okay to miss the dip when you've sold at the peak. We have our responsibilities and obligations that we should fulfill and that's why if others who have sold at the peak didn't manage to buy back at a lower price. It's because of those important things that they have to spend their profits.
Instead of buying at low, they're spending it for those matters which is understandable and someone who's going through with that situation should be proud of theirselves.

That would be a good strategy too. But i prefer to sell when an ATH comes because it gives me more profits if i see my investments are moving. But since its hard to predict if the current price is already its new ATH, so this is the time when an investor should set its goal price when to sell so that we can never be mislead. Aside from avoiding making regrets, we can also seize another opportunity during a correction to buy back the coins that have lower value and which we see that they have the potentials to grow and be more valuable in the future.

People are missing chances because they think its not yet the right time, and because greed is there.  So once greed controls you, you will keep on missing chances  because you become more emotional and you tend to lose your common sense and self-control. And in the end, you will regret what you did. However, if we can be more focused on the our goal, then we should always know that selling at a peak is always advisable. But if you miss that, do not make regrets, instead, motivate yourself more so you can hold the coins more and by this time, have your own time frame when to sell so you can enjoy the profits and use it to buy more coins again when the market is at its bear season.

After knowing I missed the ATH, of course I feel bad for not selling my coins. But that is something we can't predict before it happens, so there isn't much to do about it. If I knew bitcoin was going to crash after hiting 69,000$ I would have sold everything and invested all my profit again when it reached 40,000$ later.
However, since it's not possible to time market's fluctuations accurately, the best to do is to keep holding always thinking on long run returns. Personally I prefer to regret for not selling at ATH than regret for selling it for despair, fear or anxiety on the wrong moment.

Doesn't make sense if you sell at peak and then wait for the price to go lower again and re-invest. Why not just go long term, and see how long you can hold and wait for at least 2 bull runs before you sell your coin to maximize your profit?

At least with this strategy you don't need to time the market during it's first bull run. I know it's going to be tempting to sell, but it's hard to time the market as well. That's why it's really better just to hold on our coins for a long time.
Waiting and holding continuously is more safe way to get the profit for me but there are people who are not satisfied with the number of coins they have. They often think of the strategy that if they will sell at ATH and will buy back at low then they will get high. They do not know that when will the price bounce back but when they see then they regret. For them your suggestion is working.

If someone have more money then they have to buy some more coins along with their present as the price in the long term will increase and then after another rise they have to sell only of those fiat with which they bounce the second and the remaining coins will be their profit. for example if they bought of $1000 then after getting the profit if they want to withdraw their money then they have to withdraw only $1000 the remaining coins will be their increase in the number of previous coins. That is the best alternative if somone miss a chance.

It's not that easy of a mindset, OP if you even care. For newbies, the usual term "FOMO" becomes common to them when it comes to those situation. Whatever ROI that they had missed due to another ATH caused them to panic to immediately buy because why not right? It keeps them thinking that there will be another ATH. Don't believe me? It came from my experience when I was still starting in crypto and it was a truly horrendous experience.

Good thing I wasn't fully committed yet to crypto that time.

For newbies the situation really becomes very worst some time because they often invest in scam coins with in the rush to get the profit. They often do these regrets and they often miss. But with time they learn to remain calm and do not rush and they then watch everything first then learn and after that take decision.

Selling at the the precise moment of the ATH is simply impossible for most people, those that did were lucky and nothing more, they can say their analysis told them to sell at that point but when we have millions of people doing the same then it is obvious that a few people will be lucky enough to sell at the ATH.

So do not worry about it, did you obtained profits with your trade? If the answer is yes that is all what matters, maybe you left some money over the table when selling when the price was facing a correction but that is normal, as no one can sell at the absolute top and buy at the bottom with regularity.

Even if you did not sell your coins at high, then after a certain time you will see that the coin has adjusted below your sale price, giving you the opportunity to buy it at a lower price. So do not worry about it, because few people can sell at high and buy at low.

I guess not just in crypto, but in all types of investments, we often create wrong decisions at first but as we go on, we learn to understand why did it happen and becomes more calm and watchful on the market. Yes, the given situation will really make us to feel regrets because we miss a good chance to sell, but does regretting helps us in another way? I guess no. So we should change our mindset and just be contented on whatever profits we have at the moment and just sell.  Crypto is unpredictable so there is no guarantee that we can make more profits in the next days to come, especially if the market suddenly crash. So as much as possible, sell when we see good opportunity to make profits, as long term hodling is not always profitable in the long run.

I fell into such trap of not selling at peaks on several occasions, infact even more as a crypto trader, it is an experience that is very annoying, atimes it's due to greediness on my part, however I had learnt my lessons and seek more knowledge to avert an occurrence and to determine the appropriate period of selling at peak with the aid of some technical indicators like RSI and Bollinga Band.
Moreso it's quite unfortunate that some newbies buys at the peak consequently the price dump and they ended up losing after a massive dump in the price of that particular crypto.

I do not have any such regrets, but mind you that it could be as a result of the fact that I hodl Bitcoin, and I do not plan to sell in the close future, and also because it is a long term project that thus if there is a correction, I just accumulate more and watch it rise back up again. But all that can only be applicable when you're holding a long term sustainable coin, but if it's for pump and dump or low value coins, I'm pretty sure I'd regret if I don't sell when I ought to, and that's only cause many of such coins pump then dump later and could possibly not rise again, so if you're in possession of a coin you do not so much believe in, best thing to do is to sell when you have accrued profit.

No one knows what the peak is going to be, so what's  there to regret? What if you thought that the price has reached ATH, you sold, but then you see that the price is going for another ATH. Will you be regretting? Don't. Instead, set a profit goal. Keep holding until you reach your profit goal. Doesn't matter if the ATH is going to happen or not. If you have made your profit and you are ready to sell, then sell. Reinvest if you want (and if you are able to afford), hold and then sell again. Keep doing this and you will be making some good profit. Remember, you should only regret if you make a loss because you sold when you didn't have to.

As long as you decide to sell at ATH or under ATH as long as it is profitable without any regrets,
Of course, if you could sell your coins and got enough profits, doesn't matter whether in ATH or under ATH. The problem is when you bought in ATH, then you still hold the coins till today. I also experienced it, and I guess there are many people who have the same problems. For the people who experience it, they must regret NOT selling in ATH. But surely we must have another chance to sell it as long as the coins are good coins. At least, the chance probably comes in the next Bullrun that people predict in 2025. How about you? Do you experience it or not?

It's not easy to buy at the bottom and sell at the high. Because, our calculations do not always give accurate results. Luck doesn't always smile on us. Best: Buy incrementally and sell incrementally (continue to buy as prices fall, continue to sell as prices rise). So you make the best sales on average.

Of course, I will regret it, moreover when the price dropped very suddenly and missed the chance to sell in the ATH because of my greediness. What I regret is because:
- Why I was so greedy
- Why I lose the chance to take profits with a higher amount
- Why I should panic when the price keeps dropping and then take profits even the amount is small

Regret will be always there. That is why we are learning from our own experince, not to be greedy again, always set a target, not really wanting to get higher and higher prices again. If it is enough, just take profits because we don;t know even it will rise up again or not.

Learn and keep learning. That's how we should treat this venue of investment, keep moving forward for more profitable trade to achieve.

It shouldn't matter much if your are investing for a long term as your investment most likely will be profitable at the end putting into consideration the type of coins you invested in  coins with utilities like Bitcoin, Ethereum and maybe BNB can always be profitable on the long run but those only been hyped are not to be held or you will regret it because they usually will get dumped after getting so hyped up so newbies rush into it with fomo meanwhile early investors are taking profit.

There are many coins that are yet to reach their previous all time highs and I do not think they will ever reach that price again because they have lost the momentum they had when they were just been hyped, with that in mind, know coins you should trade and that you should hold.

It totally depends on oir financial situation and the track record of our coin in the portfolio, when someone invested for long term and also they can afford to lose some capital if the market becomes extremely bearish for long time.

What you are doing is the mindset of long term investor and for sure you will be getting the enough rewards.

some people are successful at selling at ATH because they bought in the middle. and a holder from the outset is likely to rarely get the peak price (myself included).

Its quite normal having regrets for not selling at peaked price then the price suddenly had a huge dip. It happened to me many times in the past and all I can do is to accept what happened and be patient for the next opportunity to sell. For a greedy investors, this situation is often happening because they're thinking of bigger profit, so not taking advantage the peaked price is a choice. Well, there's nothing wrong with that as long as you can handle yourselves, its likely we all have preferred target price to sell. But lets not forget to take profit at times because we'll never know the future of our coins.

The coins which reach all time high and retrace becasue people book thier profits who have bought at low prices. However, if you fail to sell those coins at all time high prices, you need not to worry. The coins will again reach ATH and even make new highs. So if you are able to hold the coins, you will be able to book better profits. Also it is almost impoosible for anyone to sell the crypto coins at all time high. No one can predict the exact top.

I find this problem very common, where different returns and investments will give different strategies. I am comfortable with what I have planned, and no matter how it turns out, the original decision should be respected. It is possible that complicated developments cause psychological fluctuations, but if you are a decisive person, you will always see new opportunities better and do not appear wiser than others when achieving success in a short time.
Well, i don't see myself regretting from this situation because i always believe that there will always be another bull run so why not invest more and hold again before its new ATH. Though regrets are sometimes unavoidable, but it will only lost your focus on the goal that you want to achieve so its not really helping. And the fact, that you don't lose your coin that time, i think there's no reason to regrets. Just invest more and set your ideal price when to sell so you won't be losing another opportunity to make profits.

I'm also like that. Like if I've decided to sell at $45k for the price of bitcoin, that's already profit. But when it has reached $60k, I've felt a bit sorry to myself.
But nevertheless, that's already profit that I've taken and there's no need to regret if I have to rethink of it.

I'm sure many of us would regret it if we missed the opportunity to sell at the peak and saw the price slowly drop downwards. If that happens to you, maybe you can only be patient to wait for the price to rise to another price peak. There's nothing we can do but just keep holding the coin until it's time to go up again.

If you see an opportunity to sell at the peak price, you better sell it immediately because after that, a correction can come and you will have a chance to buy again but this time, the amount you bought will be more than before.

I believe most of the traders miss such opportunities because it's quite hard to predict when the market will reverse. Yes, we should not regret if we miss the chance because by experience we all know the market will give us many chances. Satisfaction is the most important thing if one is satisfied with his profits that is what is important for a trader or investor.

Did you sold cifi and slp coins in profits? If not, it would be better if you had hold these coins as they would have recovered. That;s one of the biggest mistakes we do is that we sell our coins in a loss. If a coin is dumped after reaching all time high, it does not mean it will go to zero. After the correction, it may continue making new highs.

But as I said above, you need to say thank you for what is already there, because it may not be. Therefore, I also take such moments calmly, because I know that with a strong desire, you can try to use the rise and fall in prices for cryptocurrencies to get even more profit. I think the main thing here is to have a desire.

It's normal to feel regretful when we didn't sell at ATH because even professional traders feel the same. However, things still depend on having the right mindset towards it. Profit is still a profit which we should be grateful for. Sometimes, aiming for more could only lead to more losses. ATH should serve as a motivation but not frustration.

Exactly, as long as you are following your plan and over the long term your plan is bound to succeed then it is a mistake to regret your actions during a trade, now I will not deny that this is something difficult to do as people have the tendency to overthink things and blame themselves for not obtaining the best possible outcome, even if said outcome is impossible to get or at least really difficult, as it is the case in the question asked in this thread.

After years in crypto, you realize that you missed many ATH's, simply it's impossible to catch them all, and to do it every time! So I guess you are right, profit is profit, of course, we are trying to get most of every trade and we are grateful with any profit, just not be a loss! Regret is a normal feeling after missing something good, but we don't allow that to eat us from the inside and to make us do something irrational! We should keep emotions out of the picture when we trade whenever we can!

Mostly the normal people do not know about the timing and they do not know that which ATH will be followed by a deep correction but the traders who spend a long time in trade and who got the full education know that what picture of the chart will come in the coming days and they know that which candles will appear and in which position.

almost everyone has experienced a situation like this where they regretted after selling or regretted not selling so my advice is better to set your profit target and don't care about anything that happens after you make a decision because greed often makes us regret
I am that person as always! I don't know if there's a magic on it that whenever I sell, after that, the price of rises. Isn't that a type of sorcery? Just kidding.
But that's the reality that when I sell, price rises. Whether it would be from the price of ATH or not. And whenever we sell, it's always to catch up the ATH so that there's no regret since after that the price will start to fall.

As long as you profited from your selling position it's not bad even the value continue to rise high, profits still a profit as good traders always look for another opportunities and never to look back, it will just delay the progress if you continue to dwell with that miss opportunities, try to enhance your knowledge it will broader your anticipation and in the next ride you'll be able to maximize your benefits.

Learn and keep learning. That's how we should treat this venue of investment, keep moving forward for more profitable trade to achieve.
Yes, I have profited from those sales but eventually the price have risen. If I'm just a bit of patient and sold when that came, I've made more profit.
But that mentality is already adopted by me, I don't look anymore what should happen next after I've sold. That will just make me thinking of it for so many times and even can disrupt my sleep which is pressuring and stressful.

What is your views and conditions at that time?
To be sincere, I do regret my decision not to sell at times especially when the correction goes much lower than the ATH.
One thing I have learnt to help myself from having too many regrets is that I can't win all the time but if my strategy works 70% of the time then it is good enough.
Making over 10x from most coins is something only true holders can achieve and it takes patience and trust in the project.

I'm sure many of us would regret it if we missed the opportunity to sell at the peak and saw the price slowly drop downwards.
Of course, there are many people to feel regret if they missed the opportunity to sell in ATH, including me. There is nothing wrong to regret, it is normal, right? Everyone must dream to sell their coins at the highest price, it will hurt so much when realizing the price already decreased so much. I have experienced it many times on various coins/tokens. Now, I want to be more careful to analyze the market trend, so I don't miss again the opportunity.

Right, I regret not selling assets from October to November 2021 when my assets skyrocketed significantly, even a lot of meme coins that I held in October skyrocketed to thousands of percent, after waiting for almost 3 months then we have to be realistic and it looks like this moment will not be repeated again so I'm going to sell a lot of assets and shift to something else.
I also regret not selling more that month but that's okay because I'm sure we'll see more in the coming months. This moment makes us have to be more patient because we will not get much profit if we keep selling. It's better if we save first and keep waiting for a while.

Of course, there are many people to feel regret if they missed the opportunity to sell in ATH, including me. There is nothing wrong to regret, it is normal, right? Yes, that's normal and we don't have to regret it anymore because we still have a lot to do to prepare for the upcoming hike. I agree that we need to research more carefully in analyzing market trends to find when we need to trade.

well, it never hurts to be sorry and take this as a lesson. however, we always aim for big profits, so we tend to wait for the highest price, not realizing that it is ATH. and when the price drops, we start to regret. Well, to be honest I've had this happen a lot, even because of it, I've sold too fast a few times and passed ATH. however, as long as it was still profitable, it wouldn't be a problem. however, we need to learn to sell it at a high price.

Didn't work. I miss the train. So I don't do that anymore.

Of course I regret not selling when some of my assets are of significant value between October to November 2021, after waiting almost 3 months many of my coins have not risen but I am still patient to hold, I hope there will be another big surprise like last year which happened in April .

sorry actually honestly I said YES.
because basically not everyone can read when there will be a new ATH for a certain coin and I think only for the whales who know when they will make a new ATH, and the time is so short
so now I think I can't get a new ATH this year I believe I will get a new ATH that is better than the previous year even though it takes patience

I don't regret it, I make it my experience for a better trading experience in future...

sorry it will only make it difficult for someone to move forward and that is really useless, I do hold a few crypto coins and with existing experience, when the market is bullish I will immediately sell all and then wait until the market is bearish and buy back again.

Need a really high dedication and big luck to predict the ATH and we sell it that time. Most of the time people are selling their coins once it get decent profits and the others are holding their coins hoping for bigger profits but with their greedyness the price coming back to the bottom and they got nothing.
So for me personally i prefer the first one

Yes I feel but I feel only for a minute or two. When I see price dropping then the feeling comes only for a minute or less period of a minute that I missed the ATH but then I tell to my mind that I will not be able to find the rebounded and then at that time I will miss the opportunity and instead of increasing the number of coins I will lose them.

My problem with that is that can lead to a subsequent mistake and that is something that we do not want, even if trading is an incredible complex topic that we could talk about for years and never exhaust it, at the same time its principles are really simple, if you bought for a price and you sold for a price higher than what you bought and you obtained profits then that is all what matters, in my opinion there is nothing to regret as you are fulfilling your goal every single time you have a winning trade, so it should not matter at all if you could not sell at the ATH at the time it appeared.

I and most people of course regret not selling when ATH occurs, at that time I thought the price would continue to rise so I continued to hold and even buy more, unfortunately the market is red and now it has not returned to the ATH.
that's right, there's no one who isn't sorry here.
everyone must feel regret but what can we do, we can't be sure of anything that happens to the market.
luckily i was able to sell it, even though it wasn't exactly on ATH. but i can still get a pretty high price back then.

seeing your condition, i'm sad too. but believe me the market will get better soon and you will get profit again.
granted it will take a lot of time, but you are not alone. hold on for some time.  :)

I once skipped ATH because I didn't think it was the highest ATH, which is natural because no one knows where the ATH will be. Regret for sure, but there's nothing to regret, just make it happen experience so that it does not happen again in the future.

Profit is profit either selling at ATH or not, every all time high is a bottom for some investors this is why we don't have to be too greedy when our portfolio is growing, taking profits is the smartest decision as a crypto investor.

Not at all.... or maybe there is a bit of regret but in the end, I don't know what will be the future of the coin so as long as I'm not at a loss when I sold it then I'm ok with it.

What's important for me is that, I will have profits even though I sold it at ATH or not. There are some investors or traders out there who are sometimes greedy and they are waiting much longer hoping that they can get more profit when they are patient but it backfired against them and their supposed profits turn into dust because they waited longer.

sell at the peak and after that there is a correction, it means you have made a profit. for me after making a profit there is no reason to regret even though after that there is a correction and after that the price moves up again because there is no guarantee after the correction the price will move up again. Another possibility that will happen is after the correction and you buy but the price continues to fall and you destroy the profit you previously made.

This is the same mentality that I have, people worry too much about the ATH and the bottom and they want to catch both to maximize their profits, and I understand them as the purpose of all traders is to buy low and sell high, however as long as we get profits with our trades then everything is fine and we should not let greed take over us, because the moment it does that is the moment in which we will make some serious mistakes from which it would be incredibly difficult to recover.

Hello. This is my first post on the bitcointalk forum but I'm not especially new to crypto. Just never created an account here for some reason. Maybe because of my story below.

The short version: Yes, I regret not selling some at ATHs because instead I was buying them!  Im a pretty solid crypto trainwreck. Lol. Hopefully I'll be able to let go of the regrets one day.

Long version:

I didn't read all the pages of replies but in the few pages I did, it seems like I may be one of the few who does feel a lot of regret.

I jumped into the altcoin market about 1 year ago. (8 months before that I was Bitcoin only. No altcoins).  I didn't do proper study beforehand and was swept up in the euphoria of the bull market. I also had made good unrealized gains in BTC up until then before the crash, but selling some for profits was never a thought in my mind since I was taught to just HODL.

As stupid and crazy as it sounds, I started buying all the altcoins I thought had good ideas and teams and lots of potential. I was blinded by "Up Only" and didn't realize I was buying the top of most of these coins. To name a few DOT FIL ETH ADA AVAX BNB MATIC LTC.  I didn't really know how to read charts, what cycles were, and how supply and demand affected price. Nor did I even know the impact whales could have on the market. I came from a traditional retail stock market casual investing background. I was not really even aware of how much BTC and crypto could go up/down in a day! I think the great BTC up trend from May 2020 to Dec 2020 made me think that huge crashes of BTC were a thing of the past, and the MCap was too big for it to go down so hard like in 2018.  I know, dumb. But the BTC I bought in May 2020 just kept going up so I thought I was in the golden age or something.  Who knows.

Anyway, I really screwed myself because by the time I was out of money I set aside to invest, and bought all the projects I liked, the market collapsed very soon after in May 2021. I was devastated and shocked.  Totally got me by surprise.  I couldn't believe how fast and far down the prices went!

Even worse, I was "married" to my coins and thought if I just waited long enough, the prices would touch ATHs again and then make new ATH where I could escape with some profits.

I'm sure you all know how that went!  I held as long as I could (not very long) but I entered max pain (for me) and couldn't hold any longer watching my money melt away. So I started to sell at loss. Trust me, I knew the concept of buy lo sell hi but I was just very fearful that everything was going to zero. The FUD got me.

Yes, I'm the person that bought Filecoin ~$150, DOT ~ $40 LTC ~210 (? I think) AVAX ~ $40.  Then at the WORST time, I sold most of them at new lows. .( I held onto FIL because I really thought it was a great concept & I still hold it today at $18 lol) I basically sold off some of everything.  MATIC at 0.60! I also held SAND MANA LUNA SOL that I purchased for under $1 - $10 but SOLD all 4 off for either a loss or break even. Maybe a few bucks profit.

I regret that I made the classic noob mistakes, and was influenced by media,  and I made the mistakes so badly you would think I had a talent for it!  Guess what happens next??

Yes, SAND MANA AVAX SOL LUNA MATIC all came back of course and went on crazy runs.  And I had next to nothing left holding!  I am not exaggerating when I say I was trading SAND & MANA back n forth for a few months under $1 and the week after I decided to stop because they were "dead" coins, they exploded.  AVAX and SOL I managed to get back in on a little bit but much much higher than originally.

FFWD to today and I'm overall up just a tiny bit in profit. But that's only because of BTC and ETH.  Every small pump I make a tiny bit back, but every small dip I'm close again to being under water.  It's miserable.

So I will be honest and say yes, I regret BUYING at the ATHs and SELLING at the LOWS.  It's embarrassing, demoralizing, and I can't really enjoy crypto-universe since it happened because I'm constantly trying to squeek out a tiny 1.5x or 1.8x in other coins to make up for the severe losses I caused.

It's no ones fault but my own, and I just happened to make every mistake there is to make.  And I still make them!  They are only more complex!
It's too bad because I'm not a dumb person (I know it's hard to imagine) and I really love to read and study the technology, I've learned so much about everything really, but I can hardly enjoy it because from one day to the next I'm a little up then a little down. I have no padding or breathing room.  And the worst part is that I'm almost sure I'm one of the few ppl who hardly made any profits cumulative between April 2020 and Nov 2021! I was EXTREMELY skilled at not making money.

I hope I can move on from the regret and scars I have from my bad decisions one day. Hopefully I hold a few altcoins today at decent prices that in a few years maybe I can see some profits. Thankfully BTC is proping my bags up since it's the one thing I mostly didn't touch except for a few good sells..

So if any of you do have regrets, just think of my story and you will probably feel a lot better.

PS- This was not meant to be a "feel sorry for myself" comment. I just had never really admitted all that stuff before, so I figured why not do it as my first post since now I'm POSITIVE I can only go UP from here in reputation!  Hahaha.

Cheers! :-)

Probably one of the best first posts that I have ever seen, except for a very selected group the majority of the people go through something similar, maybe not as extreme as your experience but at least they suffer some losses when investing in altcoins and then the market skyrockets just after they sell, I know it is frustrating but that is just the way it is and the only thing we can do is to move forward as there is no point in punish ourselves with the mistakes we made in the past.

Of course I regret it, how can you not when you miss a bigger profit. But what can you do at that point? there is not any. So now I have a more profit mindset, how big is the profit, it doesn't matter, the important thing is not to lose. it can make me more relieved than imagining the impossible

In deed, we regret when we miss opportunity to sell at ATH because we become greedy and  want to make more and more profit but we often forget that nobody can correctly predict the market over a period of time and there are always Bull and Bear cycle. I have learned after a long experience to use long term chart to make entry and exit decision based on technical signals. DMA200 and 50 weekly moving average important Indicators to watch and better to sell when price of Bitcoin goes below these 2 indicators. DYOR

I always actively review the market when a new coin reaches ATH or the daily top gainer list on the Binance market because it will make a profit when there is a correction down more than 20% of ATH then pumped back into ATH, several times I made profit with that strategy but also failed to get it because of the bitcoin market effect, but I don't regret if I don't profit the opportunity from the ATH coin correction.

Fools only regret it. Smart people never invest in Altcoin. Altcoin can be used for short-term trading. Or Altcoin can be used to gamble on gambling platforms. It is totally foolish to invest long-term in Altcoin. There is no reason to regret those who have invested in Bitcoin, now is the new buying opportunity for them. Hopefully, soon Bitcoin will regain its bullish form.

I should have become a crypto millionaire right now if all I did was hold my coins since 2019 but all in all I'm still happy I came this far, the best thing about money is getting it when you needed it the most and that served me right, it's not the end of the world if you lose an opportunity it's just the beginning.

When viewed from a very dominant physiological factor, must be prepared with the consequences as well. I've also experienced it too many people are in that position. However, if we take a step back, basically seeing where the market is going is very important to see and pay attention to, the greed factor is one of them. always force to buy it when the price is running with the already high chart. the end result, when there is a correction we wait for the price to rise when we buy the first position.

Hey thanks. I definitely don't wish my experience on others but it's good to know my story isn't that uncommon. And you're right of course, that there's no point in mulling over past mistakes- I should learn from it, and move forward like you said.

What I've found interesting is the effect that one's social media habits has on the whole thing.  Such that, before I even knew what crypto or BTC was, my main forums happened to be Twitter and Reddit for whatever I happened to be into following at the time. So naturally when I discovered BTC I went there as opposed to here or discord let's say.  And holy cow, in hindsight I really wish Twitter, or rather crypto Twitter (CT), wasn't the place I landed!

Its so utterly toxic IMO regardless of which part you end up on. I've been on both- the shill, influencer, scammy rug ppl I unfortunately followed at first all the way to the highly curated "alpha feed" which I spend months creating.

Sure, it sounded smart to follow the top top traders, VCs, OGs, maxis and the gigabrained, but I kinda forgot the whole fact that it's all about money, flex, cred, public shaming and psyops. I'm a pretty genuine person I think and enjoy helping others and learning myself (more of a reddit vibe in the right subs) so I got eaten alive on CT.  It's like oh no, you mustn't ask the crypto rich any questions that challenge their precious words or aren't boot licking simps.  It's brutal.

Yeah I have a bit of a chip I guess about it cuz I found myself buying into it and treating these egomaniacs like they were all knowing and like killing every trade and getting in early on all the best projects (or pump n dumps really) and I just chased that shit endlessly for too long.
So much smug condescending stuff going on there.  Brought out the worst in me and I'll admit, my greed, gluttony, envy, wrath.. Ha, all the top notch sins.  I was trying to get a leg up and become a trader, a tech-ist, a multi maxi, an investor, an insider, a economics professor, a monetary history buff... You get the idea.  Trying to be everything at once except being myself and trusting my own ideas.

My point here is that just from browsing on here for a few days it seems like a much more diverse community.  All kinds of threads from the most basic noob questions (which I always find useful) to advanced topics to ppl just sharing stuff, sort of like I'm trying to do now.  It's so much healthier than trying to zing someone or getting psyoped in 240 characters on CT.
I wish I had started here and not there.

Lastly, the craziest thing about my whole journey has been that when I look back over each move I made in detail for almost 2 years, the ones that were the most sound and reasonable and dare I say "winners" were the ones that I came up with on my own, without influence, following a somewhat logical thesis and whatever my gut told me on top.  Unfortunately, I second guessed all of them because of what others said esp on CT, but really just my own lack of confidence in my ideas at the time.

All the high conviction moves I made weren't my ideas and I was just chasing or FOMO or trying to run with the cool kids (yeah I'm old and a dork sorry). The assets I sold were out of fear and FUD and no one was hyping LUNA or AVAX at $1. So I went w narratives that I really didn't know anything about.  Not trying to say I was a genius at ally I def was not. But an independent, original organic idea always seemed to be better than the toxic nature of CT and following what others were doing that I knew nothing about..

Anyway, I've said a mouthful again.  Can't help it, it's cathartic to get this shit out. Esp publicly cuz it helps to keep myself accountable and take responsibility for my mistakes and hopefully learn something going forward.   Like a cleanse - trying to start fresh I guess.
Thx for the feedback.
Cheers

I've learned to do this too.  I also try swing shorts when a significant ATH is reached that I missed on the way up.  I try not to make a habit of over trading tho because the more you play in the casino the more you end up giving to the house.  But I try a few that I've followed for a while.

I've accepted that I'm not the type of no-fear person to become a good trader but a few calculated risks with reasonable position size mgmt has been going ok.

The problem I have is that I don't really know what to do with my original mistakes.  The bags I hold of ATH buys that in hindsight I feel like they will never revisit those prices again, but I also don't want to sell at a loss anymore.  So I'm sitting on things I don't know what to do with- For example Filecoin - FIL.  I think it's a great project but not at $150 a coin or whatever I paid at the time. Even at $50 it's overvalued IMO.  So here it's finding some support at $20 area but what am I to do? Wait a few years and maybe I'll recoup half my losses? Or am I missing opportunity elsewhere by keeping my capital tied up in a coin that I simply overpaid for and should cut my losses and put that capital somewhere else that can grow?

That's the big problem I keep running into.  Can't decide if HODL is the right move or cutting losses and reinvesting elsewhere. This is a source of regret for me.  But I guess I need to just pick a decision and stick to it so I can be free to move on.

Profit is profit either selling at ATH or not, every all time high is a bottom for some investors this is why we don't have to be too greedy when our portfolio is growing, taking profits is the smartest decision as a crypto investor.

Well said. Nobody can correctly predict where is the bottom and what is the top so keep booking profit when RSI on daily chart of any asset goes above 75, this is what I keep doing it all the time and I buy when RSI is around 25. Using Technical chart to take entry and exit decisions is best strategy though it is not perfect so use stop loss to avoid huge losses when trade goes against your expectations.

I believe that basically that it firstly depends on your investment intension. If your intention for investm=ing in the coins that you have invested in was for a longer time then missing selling at a present ATH shouldn't mean much cos like you said, your investment is for a longer period and there will definitely be another ATH and besides, you cannot always catch the top and bottom price but as long as you are in profits, you are ok.

That is why most at time you need to set your target while trading for instance, I trade daily and whatever I made out from it I saved to a stable currency maybe the next day or morning I continue my trade, in most scenario I setup my trades to get to my target which will triggered at night after my analysis,  perhaps if the market continuous increasing I don't get bothered as I knew it would definitely bounce back then I pick up my ride 🤣.

Right, Bitcoin will always regain back it’s top price and even cross it to reach a new all time high price. As for altcoins, I also believe that there are altcoins that people can invest in and HODL for a long term. Coins like Ethereum, ADA, and Binance Coin, are all worth investing for a long term.

But, not all the altcoins should be invested for a long term, so like you have said, anyone who has plans of investing in altcoins should be careful and selective of what they are investing , because if you just hop on it, you’re just going to find your money sinking, a big loss that you might not be able to recover from. Bitcoin is mostly the better choice for anyone to hit for.

I have a Target Marketcap of every coin/token that I buy, and some fomo from investors that can increase the price, if the question is when will I sell, of course I will sell after x5 of the capital I have then look at some information and wait for correction then buy again.
the tokens I have owned are Etna, Dehub and sonar, you can see these three projects are still running and finishing their products but the current price is down from ATH.

Not all investors or traders can understand that if the coin you keep is a coin with good potential then it is expected that long will again find the latest ATH and also not all have the patience to wait for it to happen so often many traders or investors who prefer to sell in a loss because they have concerns the price will not go back up,  Likewise greedy always think the price will always rise where it is very impossible, never regret the decision that has been taken better think the next step so as not to miss the train.

It’s quite normal. There have been several times that I have lost money due to market correction. But when it happens I never worry much about it because I know I would still get it back. But one thing that never happened to me is facing correction after the market has reached a new peak or ATH price.

I always get to sell my coins early before the market faces a huge correction, and then I start looking for a better time to buy again.I am always very careful after there is a new halving in the market and price starts to increase, it’s important to really know what you’re doing and not try to be greedy because it can affect your trade. So, I tend to avoid that a lot.

There is always a desire to take advantage of market volatility most especially when one is new to the industry and has been made to understand that so much could be accomplished by trading. The issue of sadness for losing out in the trade comes majorly when one is new and haven't made substantial amount from the industry or when the strategy would have worked but the timing was not in place.

Regrets usually come and go, and as humans its part of our emotions to feel that. But we all know that it cannot help in the long run so we should always learn to control our emotions. And to think that crypto prices reaches its peak every year, so there is really nothing to worry if we missed opportunities like that. Just look forward for another peak and start to take advantage of the present correction so you can maximize the profits when another peak comes.

I don't think there's any need to regret even if you pass ATH or sell before ATH, trading ATH is not a must in my opinion, because if we are able to make good trades with good analysis, profits can be obtained at any time.
We should always trade based on our own timeline and regret nothing, just try to catch up in the market to remain profitable. If you miss to buy at the bottom that’s ok, just wait for the next buying signal and set up your selling price. The market is very volatile, there’s always an opportunity to buy and sell so don’t stress yourself too much.

If we always regret the decisions we make, it will only make it difficult for us to move forward. I don't think it's a problem if we miss the opportunity
to sell coins at the ATH price, as long as we can still make a profit, we should be grateful. We must be realistic that the crypto market is very volatile,
so it is indeed difficult to predict the movement of the crypto market. So sometimes the results of our analysis are not always accurate and don't
worry about that,  because it's a normal thing that other investors are also often inaccurate in predicting price movements in the market.
The most important thing is that we always learn from every mistake we make, so that in the future the decisions we take are much better.

We never know where the lowest and highest points of a coin are. I think that buying and selling a coin depends on the target. Between ATH and correction can occur at the most unexpected. A coin that we have today seems worth selling and we choose to sell. Suddenly after we sell, the price of the coin continues to increase in price from the price when we sold it. That's an example. So, set a strategy and don't be greedy.

Yes, that is the right point of view. And while this market is not completely difficult for us to understand some of the basics, the market can be volatile and difficult to predict trends. Those are not the ways to make us regret anything, because transforming all of our past mistakes into doing better in the future motivates us to work hard and be creative.

Yes, we should not regret if we miss the chance because by experience we all know the market will give us many chances. Missing out on a sell opportunity is inevitable but i often regret them most times except for a few coin i bought at a very low cost that still keeps me on profit even after a retracement. On such projects i quickly take the available profit then wait for another good entry point to buy more. Most times it's risky because this strategy is somehow similar to gambling

There is not stop to ATH sometimes if the coin or token is bullish, every trader or investor must have a price target that's the only way they will escape getting rekt when you reach your target make sure you take your profit, if the ATH continues it's all good at least you made some profit.

Yes it does. Specially when you could have more coins when you sell at ATH then buy again at correction. The fact that it could leverage your position much more than even before makes me feel cringe. I feel that with SOV when it goes to 80$ and not selling hoping it could go up to 100$ then it fell to 4$ as of now. Sold up at 20$ then bought back last week for 3$.

The best way to keep at peace with your investments is to have the right mentality about your pattern of flowing with the market trend, altcoin investment has been a regrettable one full of lessons, and from now going forward I will rather buy low and sell high and by back again just like you suggested.

I bought some coins at a low price some time ago and when the price boomed I failed to sell at the all-time high price but I was able to avoid a total loss.

I think there's no reason to resort into regrets if we miss selling at its peak price. We all have another chance to sell, not only when the price is high, but eventually when you see your target selling price has been attained already, that's the right time to sell. But if you have the right mentality and create good decision making at the first place, then you will never encounter missing chances as you always consider the right time to buy and sell.

Setting your target is better enough than becoming greed and regret not to sell right from the peak of the season. You are right, there's no need

to regret it can't be changed but instead use that experienced to develop your system, analyzing the situation and anticipating where the market

is heading, if you learn from your past mistake, you'll be able to catch up on the right train to ride.

Investors and traders need to keep doing proper adjustment, no need to go back with your past opportunities, better to move forward and

try harder.

Well regretting my actions for holding for too long and letting greed take the better part of me, I didn't mean a total regret after all in any investment you gain and also lose it's a two ways thing.

And since being able to gain some profits despite not sell g at the all-time high but selling a little below the ATH which is still ok for me but I have learned better lessons that we need to sell when the price is mooning because the price will not remain like that for so long.

Regret is not a terrible thing to feel when you lose money or lose chance of making money. When people tell others "do not trade with emotions", they do not mean that you should not have emotions. Everyone has emotions, even Warren Buffet must be feeling happy when he has a good day in the market, or feel terrible when the market crashes.

It is not about trying to have zero feelings or emotions about what happened, it is about not using those emotions or reacting to the market with those emotions. Basically what I am trying to say is that, have your feelings, but ignore them when you are trading. Professionals or veterans of trading world still feel all that we feel, same stuff, but they are masters at ignoring them when they are executing new trades.

I think there is no need to regret because we do not know what the highest price will be and when the highest price will be reached, the most important thing is that we sell above the purchase price and we make a profit.
I say that due to the fact that it is very difficult to predict this problem. what often happens is that we continue to hold because we think prices will continue to rise but what happens is the opposite.

Well I guess it depends if you are in a position to sell on the expected ATH and miss that opportunity maybe I think yes you should feel regret because your expected profit will not be the same as your calculated one at that certain price but if you are just planning to hold for a long term then why feel this way. There will be a time that we feel this kind of regret but there are also some time that we can say that it's better that we miss that chance because probably there will be another ATH.

If you manage to sell at the right time, it is very enjoyable to invest. But if the prices start to drop after you buy, you have to wait for a long time. Many coins will do ath again, I have no doubt about it. But it's hard to know when they'll be able to do it.
That's why selling when prices rise can be a very good strategy :)

All this has a presumption depending on the type of personality of the person, if the person is of a trading operator style, a trader usually establishes a Stop Loss and a "Take Profit" according to it when he touches the stop there is no more nothing to do but assume the loss, but in case you manage to sell and take profits it is ideal, you should not regret taking profits, it is what you always want, in case of selling at an ATH it is the idea, it does not matter that a correction comes later, you just have to have the conviction to always come out on top.

Yes, it is not an easy thing to predict or analyze when the price will rise and reach the highest price,
after all, everyone has their own decisions, some really want to invest in the long term so they hold on to waiting for the right moment to sell,
do analysis every time I think it will help us in making decisions

When I miss a price high, I might sell my coins if I need some of the money. If I'm not in a hurry to use the money, I'll keep holding it. But I sell for profit when the price reaches my heart's price. Greed is a weakness of people, I am convinced of that.

Would you say this only applies to coins that are not the top coins like BTC, ETH etc?  Because those altcoins could easily just go down and never recover?
Altcoins will be able to recover again when the market has improved and Bitcoin is at a much better price level although for now it looks like it is very difficult to recover because the correction in the market has not stopped and is likely to continue again.

Of course I myself will be very disappointed if I go through something like what you mentioned. some time ago I experienced it by not selling my KWS at a high price, now the price of KWS is like the price of a Token that has no Function. this is the disappointment i've felt some time ago

It's natural that when we do not book the profit at peak, we feel regret and sad but the question is how can we time the market to find the exact top. This is almost impossible to book profits at the exact top. I usually book profits in parts and therefore overall i am happy that i have gained profits.
Sometimes we need to be happy in only booking moderate profits and not taking the losses. That's also a success in trading.

Of course i regret that and i have missed so many ATH's now already where i could have sold my holdings and of course then i also missed some opportunity to reinvest like the one we have at the moment. If i would have hit all ATH's for selling and all ATL for re-entering the market then i probably would not have to work anymore in my life and that even though i am only a small fish in the crypto space because my portfolio is not worth that much.
That being said, it is almost impossible to hit all ATH's for selling and ATL for investing you would need able to see into the future to do that so don't be angry about stuff like that for to long because that is not healthy.

I guess there's always part of us that will feel regrets on what we could have done if never missed an opportunity. But that is part of dealing of such an unpredictable investment. No one holds the future so there's always chances to fall and miss opportunities. But i realized if we keep holding on to our regrets, we can never focus on the future. One thing is certain in crypto, we will never know its real ATH so we should always set our own target when to sell and eventually when to make the best buy. Losses and profits are inseparable so we should not closed our doors entertaining losses as they always bring lessons too.

Dwelling with regrets delayed our progress. Better not to continue regretting things but instead make a good use of that certain

experienced. If you can manage to convert that mistake to a much better analysis, once it comes up again, you can take the advantage

of choosing the right mindset when you need to decide. Like what you have said, the ATH is more on your own speculation better to set

it up and enjoy when the market pump and trigger your selling position.

Of course I have regrets if I was in that condition.
However, whatever I have decided is unlikely to happen again, I am sure that when a coin is selling ATH,
there are still opportunities for other coins that I can use to make a profit.
I'm sure everyone will feel sorry if I'm in that condition, I will immediately console myself because there
are definitely better coins that I can still use and make it a lesson to be patient in order to achieve maximum profit.

Not all opportunities we can enjoy, including in choosing a coin for us to invest in, because there are so many altcoins present that we find it difficult to find coins that can reach ATH and only a few potential altcoins that we always monitor and that's where sometimes we can make a profit, and when the market situation is declining as it is today then this is our opportunity to choose a coin for us to invest in the future.
Try to look at the market now very carefully where Bitcoin itself is also pumping again after the correction, meaning that the current market conditions are really not on a stable path so that it still makes some people confused about which coin to choose even though they already know the coins potential in the market, but there are still a few doubts when choosing one now.

The volatility is mainly caused by the indecisive situation of the market right now. We do not know what stage of crypto we are in right now, is there a good enough situation to go up, or is there a bad thing that should go down, I don't know and mainly the people in the market do not know either.

This is why it always ends up with the current situation where the price goes down one day, and goes up another day, since we have no clue. The moment it becomes clear, the moment it is something that is a bit more understandable, you will get to see a bit more of the clear direction of where it will go, maybe down or maybe up but it will be a bit more obvious.

Currently I choose not to trade or invest, it's just for me, seeing and observing the current state of the crypto market is a little messy I'd better withdraw all crypto assets and save to fiat, maybe I'll wait for the crypto market to develop better and I'll start investing and trading again.

Well, in my stay on this market.

It is always like that most of the time. I have missed too many opportunities but I have also catered a lot of them and I am satisfied with that.

There will be a moment that you have to decide whether you should sell in a little profit or you have to sell at loss because of your personal struggle and situations.

I have learned a new technique and m following it, which is to sell at a high price then buy back when the market drop significantly this works most of the time but then I constantly check to see the previous performance and the time frame it uses to recover after any correction.

If you are doing this experiment with the alt coin market i doubt whether you will be in profit as majority of the coins that touched the all time high valuation never rallied again and majority of the coins came down drastically and in that instance how do you manage you new found technique  ;D.

These sort of movement along with the market can be done, if you are investing in solid projects but majority of the token projects might not touch their all time high ever again and they eventually die off, so i would advise you to be careful in those aspects .

do you regret selling at the top, or buying at the dip are almost silly questions
of course you can regret it, but it is better option to have a plan, and stick with it, no matter what the plan is

it is hard to expect that you will always buy the dip, or sell the top, but with a plan you have better chances of getting it right, and yeah, it is not a financial advice

^ Exit plan would be preferable as always when you know that there is your profit that already and you need to exit the market for taking the profit. That is the right time to sell and no one would sell during the correction, there is nothing to lose with you if you don't execute selling your coin, it will be the same amount though the value will reduce. I don't even regret that I did not sell some of my coins when there is an ATH because I know waiting for a long time is sometimes worth though there is no guarantee but I know it was proven.

Everybody needs to have their own strategy and needs to know what to do in a bull and bear market. I still hold some shitcoins that I didn't sell simply because greed kicked in. I still hope that they go up massively again so I can sell them without too much loss. What I always try to do is sell 50% of my coins when I have over a 100% profit.

Yes of course I've felt that and regretting it would just be a waste of our time. So for me, before selling it, I will think about it carefully so if indeed I sell it at the wrong moment then it is a risk that I have to accept and like it or not, I have to accept it. whatever has happened has happened, we can only use it as a lesson in the future to be more careful and careful before selling it. besides that, learn to read graphs and also understand the crypto market so that we can determine when we can sell or buy coins at the right price.

Not all tell themselves, "I was in regret" for some reason that they just hold it for the future, not by selling during the ATH.

Just imagining back when Bitcoin is only $3000, ETH is at $200. If can just manage to hold them until today, we are not only doubling our money, but it was multifold several times. This gives me some insights that missing not to sell during the ATH is not regretable because the market cycle will come back and might be more than that.

Everybody wants to make maximum profit, sometimes this can be in luck and sometimes out of it. Sometimes.. you feel you sold too early and sometimes you feel you held too much. One thing I learnt is that opportunity never ends. Keep the lessons with you and know also that events most times differ. So do accordingly as per what each opportunity entails. For me I don't regret, I take what I can when Its needed base in instinct. This works for me.

taking profits will always do in our trade or investment , price will not continuesly goes up so it will have time to drop and make little or significant correction. alot traders fell regret when they miss ATH , but selling it at support was not good idea too. maybe if our token was good project with strong fundamental maybe holding little bit more could help find previous ATH.

You can't time the market. The best thing to do is to lock up your coins and stake something like ICP for a high apy (28.9% in this case). Then you are pretty much guaranteed to make it.

Don't get too confident, because you don't know the future for example of the ICP. How can you guarantee that their price will continuously go up as you are earning good interest? What I am trying to say here is that, we can never be sure of the future of the coin we have, but we can keep up with their updates and act when we need to sell before we incur huge losses.

Economical situation in the world will remain unpredictable, I don't see the possibility of the situation changing drastically. So, we cannot expect much for the change in the world economy in the near future. Sure, after the correction, there should be followed by an increase. But the increase doesn't always meet our target. In this situation, we must make a realistic target to gain profits from our investment.

I think we don't need to regret something like that because we always don't know when the coin will hit the ATH.
The most important thing is we should know when we should buy or sell the coin.
If we already gain a good profit, we should sell our coin because that could be the ATH price and we should not let our greed take control.

for me selling late at an all time high is a lesson, especially if like now many altcoins are down or corrected to 90%,
then from that As an investor, you must know when it's time to go out, don't hold it too long when bears come

The most important thing in the altcoin market is that its risk is on the higher side and one needs to flow with the moment and accept whatever the market brings sass your way, a lot of lessons have been learned along the line but the most important thing is never to get too greedy not to sell when the price is right.

But then again this signal group is the most scam of the year as their give investors wrong signals to either sell or buy.

The more you are engaged with the team, the better you anticipate the progress and the possible target for selling your holdings.

It's more on your personal strategy that will give you success.

Good thing that there are many experienced people who's not believing them, the market is volatile and not doing your research will only lead you to lose your money. Learn it from the hard way will also allow you to adjust each time you suffer from fail entry or having a wrong calculation in anticipating the next market run.

What's good is you keep developing your strategy and in the long run you may find the right system to use for much better
chances in your trading position.

I recently regretted when I missed a great opportunity to sell one of my tokens that achieved a new ATH & its profits were good and I still hold it to this day and it is decreasing day by day, but I hope that what I regretted will be a lesson for any investor so that he does not repeat my mistake. if you made profits from one of the tokens that you hold and you are completely satisfied, you have to sell 50% of the token and return back your capital and hold the rest if you believe in the future of the token, greed will make you regret.

What I felt when 2018 was very bad, I really believe in those who think that this condition is the end of the cryptocurrency market. I withdrew all my existing assets in the market with a fairly high minus, after that started looking for a new job, but sadly everything they say that bitcoin is doomed is just a thing to be used to scare. They are very lucky to get cheap prices, whereas we have to sell cheap. it was the first and last time I wanted to experience it, I don't want this to happen again in the future.

It's a bit of a letdown to not be able to sell long-held coins when they're close to ATH, but I'm still very pleased with the gains made in this market. In this space, there is no such thing as a perfect sale of what we believe in, so be content with the profits made so as not to be stuck for too long with a lot of coins and have to wait a long time again. If we are not patient enough, investment mistakes will cause us to lose money elsewhere.

In other words, a more precise or more specific one is to always be grateful for the profits that can still be obtained or achieved, because there are still many people who also invest in the market and have not yet made a profit.
So this is not a satisfaction, but a gratitude because it can still be used in a certain measure and can always be useful for each other's lives.

Also, I would like to add the thought of being satisfied in the price you have sold even if you're not able to sell it in ATH because if after ATH the price you have decided to sell is still a gain then it's still a win situation for a trader. Though I believe that there have some regrets of being missed out of selling in ATH but then if a trader or investor really need to sell his asset and yet still have a profit earn from it then its fair enough. No one have had sell precisely in ATH, sometimes we do miss out the chance, I always have this saying in mind "better luck next time".

As long as I have profit already, no regrets even I miss selling at ATH because ATH is unpredicted and it is just a matter of luck. If you're lucky enough then it's good for you gaining a huge profit. I think you only regret when you lose and you don’t sell while you can make money.  Waiting for more higher value but suddenly the price drop down, then for sure you will regret. That's why sell as long as you have profit then buy again when the price drop down. No need to wait the ATH.

If I sold it in right time then no matter its low then ATH. Infact it's very hard to guess the ATH of any coins. When I buy coin I also set goal of selling at that time and it achieved then usually I put Stoploss there. If coin high more it's my profit if down I already achieved my profit. I am feeling little regret for GMt token as I sold very early at price of 0.5 and now it's booming like rocket just like AXS.

Move forward and try to make something good out from your experienced, that's the next thing after telling yourself "better luck next time". The market is always open and opportunities may comeback your way. I agree that even you didn't catch the ATH as long that you sell it with profits, that is still profits how small or big is it. Better than selling your asset with losses.

Traders should always find ways to continue and not to keep remembering those miss opportunities. If you dwell with it, you will not go to move forward and continue to lose more opportunities for you.

For those who can no longer hold Ethereum on the platform, it will be a shame to miss the opportunity that already exists. sell when correction is not a solution, we will lose profits and even lose initial capital. In making long-term investments, it is very important to set profit targets and long-term targets for our investments. if we get the desired advantage, in my opinion, do not hold back anymore. because if we never feel enough with what we have got, the risk will make us regret because of greed.

Honestly speaking, this is a situation of regaining because if a person messes up the ath point too much, it will sell. Then he thought two: if I wish to sell my holdings at that point, then I will have a better return, and my second thought is that if I sell at that point, then I can again enter into this lower point of the market. I hope I can clarify my feelings regarding this. And one more thing that will happen during those times when you miss 10x-100x return. Otherwise, I asked myself, "Why are you panicking? Just keep your mind shut to refocus and wait for another chance in the market. Because it's crypto and it will give you another chance again." That's it, and these are my feelings regarding this, while others' feelings might be different. Thank you.

I have been investing in the cryptocurrency market for a very long time, so I had a lot of such situations. Of course I regret it if I fail to sell when the price hits ATH, but I know the market very well and I know that patience pays off. History shows that all you have to do is wait for the new ATH to come, so I'm just patiently waiting for a new opportunity. HODL!

Price movements in the cryptocurrency market are very unpredictable, so from time to time we take actions that do not allow us to make a good profit. While we understand that a missed opportunity will come up from time to time, we still regret it in our hearts. Such is the nature of man.

Yes, we are in a dilemma with the situation. when we sell it too fast, we will miss ATH, I also feel this way when holding Ethereum. The next thing is that we sometimes hold coins while they are ATH in the hope of higher prices. both can be regrets or not. you can immediately sell when the price is down from its ATH. however, many people are still holding their assets and prices are falling very deep. it makes people regret. to be honest, right now I still have coins that I've held since they hit ATH, and I don't think they'll ever hit ATH again. Well, I'm very sorry, but it's part of my decision, so I have to accept it and try to come up with a better strategy.

I dont regret selling at at price lower than ATH, because I sell only when I am really in short in fiat money, or set sort of a goal "earn for something through crypto". Once the goal (the amount) is achieved, I convert to fiat and buy. If I regret every single opportunity I've lost, I would turn into gray haired wrinkled 10 age boy. I am not a "better luck next time" idea follower, but I always think that I can achieve even more in future and follow that goal.

I absolutely regretted the decision that I have back then when I have missed the chance to take the biggest profit of a certain token. However, I was too greedy about it and I kept waiting for it to get higher until the next day it’s on a fast free fall and I have missed the chance. I have learned my lesson and should take profit if I feel that I am happy with it rather than being a greedy guy.

Yes, your way of looking at the problem is very profound, but for me it includes both personal satisfaction and gratitude for the market. Talking about this issue alone, I am satisfied with what I have learned. More or less, I am still satisfied. The gratitude not everyone sees when they have not yet received the benefit, when they do not have the support that's satisfied. Anyway, thank you for the comment.

Greed is the root cause when we miss selling at ATH. It's easy to say I will sell at this price but when we saw the market keep growing generally we change our mind and set a higher target and that caused most of the time loss and repent also.

It sucks when you are expecting for more and see things moving differently, most of us here experienced that feeling of regretting one major decision that supposedly gives us a huge amount of profits, sometimes, we tend to dwell and stuck on that feeling of losses instead of moving forward we keep being haunt by that particular mistake and we keep wasting time of trying to figure out what we have done wrong.

But for real or experienced traders, that should be forgotten and continue moving forward. Try our best not to do the same

mistake and enjoy grinding and makes some decent benefits.

Very often it's a bad habit for crypto traders to believe the market bulls can be pumped higher than expected but not realizing that the pump was already high before a correction occurs, I agree that greed is the main reason we regret not selling it at ATH. So we in holding altcoins must determine the target area to sell it and assume the target area is not excessive so that it can be achieved when the crypto market is pumping.

miss selling when ATH is sad
especially when the price hits ATH then in a short time it immediately falls again which is quite deep, it's very bad in my opinion,

Well I sold some of my tokens when they reach my price target, so there's no regret for myself. I'm only thinking about if I sell it at a peak and earn more profits then I can buy more amount of token/coin in this dip market condition. I never feel enough from the token I hold because my mind keeps telling me to buy more and more until the bull market comes back again.

I think we shouldn't regret missing out on selling at ATH because really we never know where ATH is until it's over. When we see a bull market, most of us expect it to keep going higher and greed will sometimes kill us if we don't know enough and stop. I always set my price targets and will sell them when I reach them. History also shows us that ATH will repeat and a new ATH will take its place so our job is to choose to hold potential coins and wait for a new ATH to arrive instead of regretting it.

Well no one will regret if everyone sells 50% of the  token that they are holdings at peak. If you are a holders you will see that peak is already an opportunity to earn and selling 50% of your holdings is i think the best strategy because we all know that there is always a dip after the bull run, so smart investors really earn that time.

a sense of remorse is always there when I face such circumstances. selling late and the price suddenly corrected, what was more annoying was that the price never rose again after it happened. although I have been trading crypto for quite a long time, but sometimes I always experience that. when I'm greedy I will definitely experience it.

Most investors will encounter this bad habit, greed is difficult to control because the ultimate goal of investment is profit and everyone wants to sell at the highest price to get the best profit. It is greed that makes us regret later for not being able to control our greed.

When we decided to invest in Bitcoin or Altcoins, we should set the price target and sell it as soon as you achieve the target. Do not get greed, otherwise regret later. Just remember one thing the market is still there, our opportunity is still there.

well when selling the token with the highest ATH and getting the token price to fall but the opportunity to buy the token is often ignored so we don't get the next profit when holding the token and waiting until the next ATH will come but that applies to good token projects if the project Bad tokens will continue to experience price declines, so it's not a loss if you just sell them without buying them back.

It will give problems ahead of time when you regret everything in your life's decision. If the time have already passed, let it go and move on. Have some.composure and look forward what's next to come. I believe learning from them is the best way to do.

It will give problems ahead of time when you regret everything in your life's decision. If the time have already passed, let it go and move on. Have some composure and look forward what's next to come. I believe learning from them is the best way to do. The feelings of regret is destroying and we will not be able to concentrate to the things we have to do. So accept and let's wait another moment for ATH, maybe the next one is the best for you that is why you have missed the former.

If you have that kind of mindset it will be on the favor but most of the time people tend to dwell with missing their chances.

Instead of moving forward they keep on remembering those mistakes and that cause them hinderances to find the best profitable ways

from this industry or whatever industry or business they are engaging. It's your own acceptance and your own understanding that will

help you to re-try and see your luck.

But remember, most of these crypto projects have short-term goal of just collecting money from naive investors.
Hard to trust these new projects if you won't do any research on them.
The interest in crypto market is growing, but the proliferation of scam projects is also increasing.
So if you are now an investor on this market, you should always do your job of scrutinizing the project.

To be very honest, it pains me each time this happens to me but just like the adage "We win some and lose some". Each time I remember this, I just take heart and continue catching my fun with my trade.

It's very human if we regret missing the opportunity to sell the coins we have when reach ATH, especially after reaching ATH, the price of
the coins continues to decline. It sure pisses us off, and I've had it a few times in the past. Because sometimes when the coins we buy suddenly
rise very high, often our greed arises and this is where we start making wrong decisions. Even though we should sell the coins we have if we are
already profitable, especially since the coins we buy are new projects. Because if we don't sell it soon, for a new project if the price falls it will be
difficult to recover and it is possible that our money will be stuck for a long time. Now I'm more experienced, so I take a valuable lesson every mistake
I make. It doesn't matter if we made a mistake and regretted it, because we missed selling the coins we had when the price reached ATH.
The most important thing is that we don't make the same mistakes over and over again, next time we have to immediately sell the coins
we have when we are already profitable.

Just a good mindset of keep trying to improve yourself in terms of investing to this market, regrets is there but it shouldn't be treated as hinderance to move forward, else, it should be an inspiration not to do the same thing and take it as advantage when sorting the market. You can avoid doing the same thing if you anticipate the right way.

Sell when you are in profits and keep rinsing the market for more potential profitable assets to invest your money.

So if we don't want to regret always see chart analysis and the decide.

I missed the point to sell my Shib when it hits ATH price because of greed. Bought it when it's was in a serious dip, perhaps I kept hold of the coin for a long term, when Shib started to trend, it became a memecoin and the news was over the market. Hold over $800 pieces of the coin, when it pumps, made over 3x of my capital. I hesitated to sell because I was hoping that the coin will continue to move in a bullish movement not knowing that their was a bearish movement behind the corner. When the coin started to dip, I was not bother because I have set my mind that I'm risking my portfolio, for better gain.

yes for people who have a lot of altcoins in their portfolio and still stick around hoping the market will go higher and will give them bigger profits then the market will eventually go down, of course they will regret it. I saw how the market was going to ATH and the most surprising thing was BTC, and I sold some before it hit ATH and some when the market started to drop. but I don't regret it, because I still make a profit. The key is not to give up everything when the market suddenly pumps, because we never know what ATH will look like.

Regrets not selling all assets when prices are high there will still be, it's just that this is cryptocurrency trading whose price movements are not easy to predict so many regret it when they miss the opportunity, wait until 2024 hopefully all coins including shib can make price increases again and can provide fresh air for the holders, Holder is always a winner.

Brother, if you really think that way then I must say, you are lying to yourself. I mean, who doesn't regret not being able to sell on peaks and buy back on the bottoms? The better way to express this may be "I regret but do not get bothered much by it since I am not greedy" or something. Still though, given the right circumstances and capabilities, I am sure that anyone would never miss such a chance. Greed isn't something that we should see as something awful because without it we would be doing nothing. Getting it under control would be the best approach. Of course, if you do not want such tedious things like learning more than the basics in trading and watching the charts several times a week, then I guess being satisfied with what you have or waiting out the storm and looking at the bigger picture would be best for ya.

Nobody knows when a coin will hit its ATH, what we can do is buying when it goes dip and you were doing right thing.
Looks like the market now is dipping, it is time to buy and accumulate some top coins.
The most important is we buy when it goes red, and sell when it goes green. With that way, we can avoid huge loss.

Normally when there is an ATH it is difficult to see it, because we are all waiting for it to go up more or that it probably has a correction that could make it go up more, however there are people who do determine it and take advantage of selling at the maximum point, some see it because of the volume, but at the moment that the ATH passes and then they do not sell but they sell in the correction, it is not that they do everything wrong, they are selling at a high point but not the ideal, however sometimes the BTC breaks towards up twice, that is, it goes to an ATH then goes down and then gets another ATH, sometimes it happens like this and with the point where it reaches the accumulation stage.

even when it's not ATH, when the price of a coin that we have is still high enough, and the price is dump, regrets will come instantly.
nowadays, so many people are writing on their social media about their dwindling assets, and regret not selling when the coin still has a high enough price. however, we will regret it when our assets are reduced by more than 50% of the price of the coins we originally owned. however, nowadays it is proven that very many people regret not selling their assets when they have made a profit. people always target a price that is high, or higher than ATH, but we also need to remember that we have to profit from it. it's more important.

If a coin that we hold and have earned a profit is certainly something we always want and to buy again when the decline occurs on the same coin of course we must really consider, because greed often makes us panic because it does not go as we expected, as is the case today very many investors are stuck in certain projects because sharp declines continue to occur.

Greed often makes us fall and this is very often felt when investing in a coin, then when we have earned enough profit then never hesitate to sell and look for opportunities in the future has indeed gained confidence in new coins, my view for now we have to survive in the long term so that the big profits we can feel, With the current state of the market we still have to be patient in dealing with it.

I'm sure you bought at a higher price in November, I'm still losing because I regret deciding to buy the coin before May 8th, although my current losses are reduced but I should have made a profit from the market recovery at the current price.

Everyone must have experienced the same thing, namely regret not taking advantage of when there is a new ATH which has actually happened several times, but is not used as an experience and learns from the first regret.
and I think regret at ATH will pay off in new ATH, I mean and my experience. I also feel very regretful when ATH 2017 in december the price reached almost 20k I didn't make a sale, but everything paid off and was much more profitable when ATH just happened in 2021 in november which reached 68k.
so never regret when your new ATH doesn't sell it because of your own mistake expecting the price to continue to rise when there is a correction and after breaking through ATH there will definitely be a decline, and it's better to forget that regret, and wait for the new ATH to come even if you have to wait a long time because it will definitely happen The most important thing is to be patient and don't let regrets repeat themselves.

Normally when there is an ATH it is difficult to see it, because we are all waiting for it to go up more or that it probably has a correction that could make it go up more, however there are people who do determine it and take advantage of selling at the maximum point, some see it because of the volume
That's what they say that correction makes the price more stronger so therefore there is no need for regrets but maybe those who didn't know this logic, will regret too much thinking that it's the end of their investment. Well if that is the case then they shouldn't be greedy in the first place and they have sold when they have the chance.

at the moment that the ATH passes and then they do not sell but they sell in the correction, it is not that they do everything wrong, they are selling at a high point but not the ideal
You mean they have a higher expectation? But they shouldn't sell at the correction if that's what they want because selling only lessen their chance to earn high not unless if they will buy again but still, it's not a wise move imo. To me, what they did was wrong. Not only it shows that they are greedy but they also acted like a noon there by selling at lows.

Very much true, if you can't add more to your asset it's still better to keep holding, if you don't want to lose anything from your investment maybe you should take some break and forget to look at your portfolio, it will help you to survive this ongoing corrections. Missing the bullish opportunities doesn't mean that you should sell it out due to correction. It applies with good and solid assets, but better to study deeper to understand the whole market and not to just doing a wild guessing each time the market moves.

Yes I think every one be Regret if he missed to sell any Token at ATH. Most of this occurs because of greed. It's better to make a selling Target before buying any token and once you get then better to sold.
Many users did not selling Target and missed to sell in high price and when market down they sell at low price.

I still regret it, because my investments have decreased by more than 5 times, now I'm waiting for my altcoins to gain momentum again and at least reach their last ATH. I'm even ready to wait until some projects leave the market altogether, so now I have iron patience.

Selling faster when bullish, waiting too long to sell when hitting ATH unti the correction coming will always make some holder disappointed. But. as long as it meets the target he wants to achieve, it doesn't matter. If you are disappointed that you couldn't sell at ATH before, then keep your position to hold the coins you have and never sell until you find new ATH. But, keep in mind also, in the Alt market, not all coins that hit ATH before can reach ATH again. Because some of them are sinking deeper and never return to ATH, some of them are even bankrupt. thats really sad when we didnt take profits on peak price. Alot people being greedy when looking market going crazy, we must remeber as long as profits didnt closed yet it still only number not be money yet. Take important lesson and dont do same mistake in next bullish cycle.

there's nothing literally that we can do if our investment already lost more than 90% of its value other than having iron patience.
that quite literaly got us stuck in one alts and even converting our investment in other alts gonna results as an unwise decision since big chance we just gonna further lose the value of our investment.

Would really make us disappointed and whenever i do experience this then the best way on easing the annoying moment or rage inside is that i do convince out myself to believe that it was an unpredictable market afterall.

With this then you would really be able to ease the stress and anger inside on the time you miss out on selling or buying moment. It is really truly that make you regret whenever you do miss out those opportunities.

This is where analysis and experience would be that relevant because making decisions will always be preferring into your own choice. So you should be wise on taking decisions
and follow your money and risk management of course.

If a coin that we hold and have earned a profit is certainly something we always want and to buy again when the decline occurs on the same coin of course we must really consider, because greed often makes us panic because it does not go as we expected, as is the case today very many investors are stuck in certain projects because sharp declines continue to occur.

Not really, we cannot redeem a coin while we consider it a risky investment and a surfer investment, it depends on the coin you hold, I will never buy back a shitcoin I sold before at the top.
When investing we should classify potential coins and speculative coins, with potential coins you can sell when the price is high and buy back when the price corrects, with junk coins, once they sell for a high price, it's best not to go back to look. They will become a dump soon after, once profitable then remove them from your head.

Well, shitcoins should be avoided since they didn't have real progress in their development and only pump and dump happened there. If we're looking for a quick profit with really high risk then shitcoins may be an option and we should prepare that we can lose our money in there very quickly too. Holding shitcoin is the same like you digging your own grave tho better to look for another good project with real development.

What is your views and conditions at that time?

My first priority has always been to get profit. Of course, I didn't always get profit at ATH level, but I always thought of taking profit first. When I look back, I see that I have no regrets. Opportunities in this market never end. We need to seize new opportunities instead of clinging to the past and lamenting the mistakes we made there...

I keep hearing people saying "clean up your portfolio and throw out the trash before the next bull market". I think that advice is incorrect. Low cap coins that lose the most money during a bear market, like 0xMR and TRI for example, will pump the most during a bull market. Do not sell low and buy high. And remember that you can't time the market so don't be too hard on yourself. You do need to take profits though so one thing I do is to sell my NEAR and ICP staking rewards and yield farming rewards monthly. This way I always have income.

That must be our priority, to get a profit as soon as we can and not to learn being a greedy person because this isn't really beneficial like we can miss an opportunity. For someone like you, it's fine to look back but for someone that isn't like you then they should avoid looking back as that can only make them regret and this can badly affect them. I like the advice that you shared here.

This helps those people who are not like you. They will feel discouraged about their past mistakes but they will try to be strong and be more motivated to change their habit because they now know that there's still more opportunities that can come and they can still recover what they have lose on the past or possibly earn more than that.

Not only that I have regretted once, but many times already about missing the chance to sell at all-time high due to my greediness and complacency. Now that I have learned my lesson, I would likely going to sell at all-time high this time for altcoins. But for Bitcoin and Ethereum, it’s going to be a different story because I am bullish with them for long-term.

I am currently doing DCA with Bitcoin since May 2022, and I am planning on doing it every month as long I have extra money to spare.

I think most of us experienced the same situation of not selling at all time high and regretted it once. I myself have experienced it several times and we know what the lesson from the experience is. Keeping the strongest coins and disposing the weak coins is the right thing to do. We know that there are a high chance that weak coins can't go back to their all time high even it experienced another bull market again, I've realized it last bull market that weak coins can't hit it's all time high again. But yeah it's a different story for strong coins like bitcoin and ethereum, They are expected to surpass their all time high again during the bull market phase and it's been like this many times. I'm sure those who experienced it will just accumulate top chart coins and just disregard coins that has weak foundation coins because there's only a low chance of making it to all time high again.

Sell at whatever position you feel your profit is worth taking because if you dont you will regret that especially in crypto because lets say you sold BTC at 50k and it went ahead to hit 65k and then launched back to 20-15k and maybe you bought back there What I see is an investors willing to be flexible and stay in the games Take your time and plan your moves is the best strategy

We can only take a guess of where prices will go, but we can never be so sure because of the unpredictable nature of the crypto market. Altcoins are much more volatile than Bitcoin, meaning the risks of loss are higher. I did regret not having sold some alts during their ATHs, especially when they never went back to their original prices after a long period of time. That's why I'm more into Bitcoin because it has a high probability of reaching a new ATH after every halving. No one can predict the future, so we should diversify our investment just in case. Just my opinion :)

Well, I think we all almost missed that moment. however, I am also committed to that, but there will be a desire to continue to hold while ATH is happening, and I think that is a natural thing. however, to avoid this, when ATH occurs, we may need to sell a few percent of the assets we own while we still want to continue to hold them. at least we sell for the initial assets that we have. however, as long as I'm in the crypto world, I've also made such commitments, but when ATH happens, I keep holding on. well, it makes me quite sorry not to sell the asset when the price is high. many lessons we learn, however, sometimes we only learn it when it happens, but when it happens again, we do different things.

Holding altcoins to want to become a millionaire is the mistake of many investors, But then we'll all realize one thing, we're all wrong, there are very few coins that can recover from a drop after the drop, other than bitcoin and ethereum there are no other coins that can do so.

Altcoin investing should be considered as a short term investment, take profits as soon as possible and once you have taken profits, never look back, new opportunities are always available in the market.

In terms of possibilities, we already saw how bitcoin provides new ATH each time halving comes, if you will put a big amount of your investment it's best to pick Bitcoin though you can also use other solid project that you see and understand how the developing core are doing, each coin that follows bitcoin are also good and have decent potential to rise high,

it's a matter of how you will take time in doing your research and following the market, new and old coins do have potentials it's always relying from how an investor do his homework before choosing his investment.

The closest example is when the bull market occurred in 2021, some coins managed to reach the new ATH price and I am one of those who
regret not selling the coins I have when the price reaches new ATH. Even though if I manage to sell it at the new ATH price, I will get a big profit,
I also had the opportunity to buy again in the current bear market. Therefore I learned from my mistakes that it is still difficult to control the greed
that is in me, this is what finally missed my opportunity to be able to sell at the new ATH price. Now I have to be patient waiting for the market
to be bullish again, because as you said new ATH probably will not be achieved in the near future. So besides I have to be patient holding the coins
I have, I also have to start accumulating very potential coins. So when the bull market came I was ready to sell the coins I had at the new ATH price.

I'm sure that most of us has our own regrets on not taking profit on trades, The common reason of it is because of overestimation of the market and becoming greedy at the same time. There will always be a price correction and retracement on massive pumps and it is expected most of the time. Of course, Actively trading opens new opportunity on having that buying power and getting more profit from your trades. It takes time, effort , knowledge and patience but it is definitely worth it after being satisfied with the profit you earned on trading.

Taking profit during bullrun is good because you can enjoy your earnings. We'll never know when might the price decrease again after reaching the ATH thus to avoid having regrets dont refrain yourself from selling if thats what you think the best for yourself. But there are investors who are firm to not sell even the price reach the ATH then turns downward again These people are determine to keep holding until the price reach their desired value to finally sell.

Yes, better to take profits on each milestone rather than waiting for our dream all time high. Bitcoin is a market that usually dumps 70 - 80%, so if you did not take profits you will regret your decision later. However there are few people who do not want to sell for a very long time like 10 years or more, that's also a good approach if you are not active in trading.

wow if anyone sells cryptocurrencies over the next 10 years maybe they are very rich people now,
and indeed it is cold money, but for everyone who invests in cryptocurrencies I sure don't want capital to be lost,
so my advice is don't hold up to 10 years, but trade 10 years!

Regrets that often occur for me for always buying when I am experiencing a downturn but the dehumidifiers that occur continue until the losses I feel, of course this is a great regret because it is wrong in predicting a coin that we want to hold, but if an event like the one you feel it has become a greed because it is too much to hunt for profits and one day it will definitely be trapped in FOMO, then don't be too enthusiastic about investing.

What is your views and conditions at that time?

everyone will surely regret it if they have gone through times of altcoin bulls reaching new ATH and has been followed by a correction. because the new ATH is unlikely to happen in the near future, but it takes a long time. and if we can sell altcoins on new ATH then we have a chance to get bigger profits. and we can buy it back when the correction occurs.

Accumulating coins is one of the good strategy during the bear season, if you trust and you really understand how the developers will bring their project into success, keeping the coin while the value is really low and expect that days will come for the coin to pump hard. It's not easy, but if you do your research and you keep your faith with the knowledge you gained, the chance that you will be able to hold and continue to wait while the project is still in progress.

Regret is a part of yesterday's mistake. You can't bring it back, but you can always learn from it.

Use that as a good motivation to keep your investment on the right track.

Altcoins are a much riskier investment than Bitcoin due to their highly-unpredictable nature. Most of them are driven by hype/speculation, so prices can either go up or down in a blink of an eye. Remember, not all that glitters is gold. Just because an altcoin is "pumping" like crazy or gives huge returns doesn't mean that it's worth the investment. People only think about the money so they quickly invest into highly-rewarding altcoins (mostly "meme" coins) with the hopes of becoming rich within a short amount of time. But that's not the way it works.

No one really knows when a cryptocurrency will "pump", since the whole market behaves in many strange and bizarre ways. You just sell whenever you see there's a bull market run, and then buy when it's all the other way around. As long as you don't invest more than what you can't afford to lose, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts ;D

No, I will never feel bad that I didn't sell at an all-time high, but it's better if you know or get news about a market correction take profits and keep buying back at lower prices depending on the time and circumstances, it becomes easier, some needs are also fulfilled and there is peace of mind.

Crypto is full of regrets. You sell at the current ATH, then it gets a new ATH. You decide to hold, then it dips.
So, the most important thing is to always learn to take profit when you are in profit, because you might end up regretting

I get asked sometimes if I regret not selling my coins at the all time high and my answer is always the same. No, I do not regret it. You can’t have too many regrets in crypto since there are so many price swings and it’s impossible to know exactly where the bottom or top is.

How many successful swing traders do I know? Not many. My investment strategy is pretty consistent, I bet on winners that I truly believe in and I hold long. Eventually,  BTC will be worth 100k and that's what I focus on.

Of course. No one knows how the crypto market will behave due to its extremely unpredictable nature. We can only take a wild guess of where prices will go, but that's it. Altcoins are known to have higher fluctuations in price than Bitcoin, so investing in them are a gamble. You can either win big, or lose it all in an instant. The key here is to diversify in order to minimize risks of loss as much as possible. As long as you don't invest more than what you can't afford to lose, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion :)

No one knows the peak of each crypto during bull run so we should learn to sell when we are already at profit. Many people forgot to sell during a bull season because of their greediness of having a huge profit. A parabolic crypto during those season could dump and make a correction anytime. Market has two cycles so we shouldn't be afraid that we won't be able to buy again at lower prices.

Well, it's a very simple thing, when you think about how important it is for us to make a profit. however, most people, including me, are sometimes hesitant to sell because they think of the potential that could come at any time, and maybe bring in big profits. Well, sometimes the thought is not wrong, but sometimes it is that kind of thinking that makes us skip the opportunity to get big profits. I think everyone has regrets about that.
The lesson in this case is, when you still intend to hold on, then selling just a few is fine. whether it's to secure your initial investment funds, or just take your profits. at least you got to sell at a high price.
It's normal in my opinion. Most traders or all traders experienced this kind of situation where they regret on selling at the most prominent price. Even some professional traders experienced missing those opportunities. Gaining more profit is the traders goal and being greedy sometimes is pretty expected. We could just move on and wait for the next cycle to arrive and not try to miss that ATH we all want to take profit on. It's a good lesson where we can gain the experience to do things right next time.

I prefer to secure a few percent to take take profit in order to avoid the risk of loss. Indeed, sometimes there is a sense of dissatisfaction, especially when the coins when buying experienced a significant increase. However, I try to be consistent and as much as possible to avoid greed.

if asked if I regret it, yes of course I really regret it, especially when bitcoin reached $64000 and I still hold it,
and now I really regret it, and of course I'm also confused, should I hold or should I cut lose,
because I'm still worried he said bearish season is not over yet

Somehow I had regrets after 2017 and last year's all-time highs. I would have been a dollar millionaire now if I sold all my bitcoins and altcoins last year at an average of $60,000 per bitcoin. Then use some of the proceeds to buy back next year or by 2023. But what is done is done. We need to move forward and consider past mistakes as learning experiences no matter how hard it is. I'm still happy and proud of my achievements. I never thought that my crypto investments are that effective and life-changing.

Right now I am actually tempted to sell my house in order to buy back. We'll see.

Regret for not selling our tokens at the highest price, of course, still exists, but we must suppress it by being grateful that at least we have made a profit even though it is not maximal. Crypto price movements no one knows for sure where the highest price is and where the lowest price is, so we must have guidelines in trading to avoid greed that usually leads us to losses.

It is true that we must move on from our regrets and learn from our previous mistakes. We have learned that the bear market is the right time
to accumulate coins that we consider potential. And like you said accumulating coins is the best strategy we can do in a bear market situation.
So instead of wasting time complaining that we failed to sell coins at peak prices, we better start planning for our future. By accumulating coins
in bear market situations, if we can do it patiently, making big profits is just a matter of time. For sure don't ever think that investing in crypto is
an instant way to get rich, because it only makes us wrong in making decisions. The first step is to do research and analysis to find the right projects
for us to accumulate, because not all projects are good to buy during a bear market. It is true that we must have the motivation to be able to keep
our spirits up in the face of this tiring bear market.

to regret something like you mentioned, IMHO that's humane. However, what will we do after that will make a big difference, Whether we want to pity ourself and cry about our situation or learn from it so next time we can do better. I think great traders also learn from their mistakes since there's no school for crypto at first, most of us learn by doing. This "I know in the future the price will grow again to another ATH" probably could be implemented to top CMC coins/tokens instead of new projects so we need to be wise in holding some coins/tokens.
