Despite no serious bull in the market for sometime,  I am thinking to buy more because the price at which bitcoin is right now I can be able to afford it. I planned buying when the price was at 40$ , the amount of bitcoin I planned to buy is a small quantity which if the market eventually go dip i may lost 30% of it. But now I feel even if I buy and it goes dip it wont go dipper the way the price is now.  What do you think about my plan?

It is a very good plan.

But investment can be different from trading, if you want to invest, you can do that and do not sell even if the price continue to reduce, it will get to a level it will increase and you will later make profit.

Even if you have both at $40000, the price can not get liquidated and you do not use any margin ratio, just buy and leave your coin and be calm but be expecting good return.

The price of bitcoin will get to $40000 again, but the price has gone lower which makes it a very good time to buy more. But if you have never bought before, it is a good time to buy. You may not buy at once, as the price is reducing, you can continue to buy until the bull market starts again and you will make profit.

losing 30% is to go about $25k which is an extremely hard thing to happen. price is even struggling to stay this low.

It is still very possible the price can go low up to $25000, it is not hard at all to notice that it is possible if you checked the price of bitcoin in history. I am not saying it will happen but it is possible. But even if it happens, there is nothing bad to buy morenand what that matters the most is is that even if the price reduce below $25000, the price will still rise and the person will make profit.

Not only whales are buying the dip, other people are also buying the dip, even people that have not bought bitcoin before that are interested will want to buy this time for not to miss the noad once again, also people that have known about cryptocurrencies but just want to invest because of how they have missed that time will want to invest.

yes this is the right time, and don't worry if it fluctuate more below. Instead take it as a opportunity to add more because when it start to bullish surely it will try to reach the current ATH again or to break new record this year and if that time happens it will be a bad idea to catch the price because of FOMO or whatever it is that can cause market to change direction.

So while there's an opportunity go for it, as long as your investing for long run and you already have target price no need to worry because you still have a chance to recover those losses and to have a good return in the future.. Remember bitcoin is already proven and tested despite of the situation, so better to make decisions while it's not late!

Am investing, I understand buying when the price was at $40000 was not bad at all but I have always crave to buy at $30-$35 for a longtime. So I think this is an opportunity for everyone who can buy at this price to Hodl because if the price eventually hits to $55-60 at any given time,  it gonna put a good smile on the face.

It's your decision, and it might actually be a good decision. But for a stupid pleb like me, I have all of my bids ready near the 200-week SMA line, which is currently $21,733.49. The price is moving to some point that makes a crash to, or near the 200-week SMA line more and more possible, and it always touched the line during bear cycles. I believe it could be as early as next month, or as late as 2023.

You can buy bitcoins whenever you want and don't have to wait too long. But it's better if you place a purchase order at the target price you want. For example, say you want to buy bitcoin at $39k. You can place a buy order at that price or lower so that if the price drops a little, your buy order can be filled. But whatever it is, only you know when is the right time to buy bitcoins and how much money you want to use to buy bitcoins.

For me it's not bad I also didn't miss buying at $40k then I did have a bad time now after BTC dropped badly but for me, it's not too bad to regret if there is a chance at $35k/36k I will make another entry to add to the handle I'm at some point, maybe even more optimistic to $50k/60k as my next target to sell.

Definitely not fewer than two years, agreed. Buying now even will likely have you grimacing in pain for the next two years. Similar to when you bought in 2018... So if you are the kind to sweat every day checking your portfolio, just buy regularly with no expectations... Other than you will be staring at massive losses in the short term.

The current price is perfect for accumulation because it’s already between the old support and the current strong support. Accumulate in tranches so that you can have an average buy price when price go south. Microstrategy margin call price was 21K and I doubt they will allow the price to go near that since it will a disaster for them. Currently 30k is the strong support and will likely the final defense on this current dump. Price will bounce back near it.

I mean how far along are you thinking of when investing? If it's more than a year or two then yea, this is a pretty good spot to enter in imo. Wanting to wait for a lower price may be a good idea, but that's just a loop you're gonna keep on entering, later on, might as well just do it now imo (especially if you're looking for the long term). If you were planning to day trade then I'm pretty sure it's always a buy since you're going to immediately sell anyway after getting a bit of profit, then rinse and repeat.

This is a rather difficult thing to know. The bear is still on and nobody know when the bull will come and also OP can't determine that. I think now is still a better time to buy bitcoin because it has dropped more than 50% from the ATH coming down now at 38k, investing now is still right and possibly price may begin to rise now that Fed increase rate and inflation can push more investment into bitcoin.

The problem (if we can call it that at all) is that a very small percentage of people even believe that Bitcoin is desirable as a long-term investment. 30% of $40,000 is $28,000 which is the recent lowest price that Bitcoin has reached ever since it reached below the $30,000 price.
TBH, it can reach that price since it already happened especially with what is happening right now.

Think of Bitcoin as a long term investment because if you think like that, you will realize that events like these are a good opportunity for you to buy not only Bitcoin maybe but other assets as well. Your plan will work as long as you think of a long term of holding Bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin anytime you want and just be ready if it goes lower. Excuse me for the paraphrase or misquote slightly on 2 parties I knew who got into Bitcoin, in 2017, and 2018, respectively.

Buying at any price below the previous all time high before the halving is still a good buy but Bitboy just gave an Idea of November to February next year, I think is just a suggestion and no maths or research cant back it up. One can pick some up now and reserve some fund for the later part of the year.

Well, I dare to encourage you to even buy more now. Though it wasn't a perfect time to do it, yet never knew what will happen next, however, we couldn't just let this chance disappear without taking the advantage of it. Take note that the next halving is soon to come, prices may rise up again, that is why we should have to prepare for it as even if the price will go down but surely it recovers back, especially during halving.

There’s no best time to buy because you can always buy and have profit no matter what the situation is. Though of course, buying at a bear market since more profitable than buying during the bull trend so right now, this is a good chance to accumulate more Bitcoin and other good altcoins, we may not sure if the price will still go down but at least you are able to buy at a cheaper price because in the next three years we will be on a different price level again, and maybe that is the time we will reach the hundred thousand mark, its good to have some now for your holding purposes.

The price of bitcoin was lower earlier this afternoon than now because it was 35k earlier but now it increased a little bit and the price now was at 36k something but its still cheaper than the last past days so you should hurry now before the price increases more because I believe that there are still bulls and what we are experiencing now is only just a bear trap.

You don't think if you're going to buy with small amounts. What's important is you're buying and you're adding little by little to your total holdings.
Do not underestimate the amount that you're buying because it's one reason why many have profited on the last bull run. It was because they've accumulated every single amount that they've decided to buy when bitcoin's price was still low.

This strategy is good, buying is good specially when you buy it by stages, for me i prefer to buy on 3 stages because price status of btc isn't stable.We dont know if the price continue to fall after we buy it so if i have  1000$ i will devide ot on 3 and invest in 3 stages to avoid big loss if ever the bitcoin price fall drastically.

There is nothing to object to what you have written, because it is a truth from which no one can escape. As you say, even among the minority that supposedly believes in something more than that BTC is a money machine, few manage to withstand the challenges that are manifested mainly in the loss of value that BTC realizes in relation to fiat currencies.

But I stopped getting annoyed about it a long time ago, and I can only paraphrase Satoshi who said that if someone doesn't want to believe or doesn't understand I just don't have time to convince them otherwise.

Bitcoin is currently trading in the high demand zone 36k,35k,32k, 28k are significant level to watch, so since you were targeting to initially buy around $40k and futunately for you the market has given you a discount ( cheeper price ) to get in,

I suggest you do dollar cost averaging DCA from this point in market and set up your buying price base on the aforementioned price level, even if the price in case drops lower, it also means another better opportunity for you to buy.
Lastly buying the dips comes with amazing rewards at last #Buy and HODL.

We can't compare rich people to poor people in regards to investing as they are more optimistic despite the decline, unlike how these poor people behave differently and think negatively.

While these rich people making busy analyzing the market and buying more but these poor people are doing nothing. They instead keep asking when bullish which in fact, even if it comes they still don't get any as they never bought something while the price is cheap.

From my experience, the best time to buy would be anytime that you want to buy or even have the possibility to buy. I too have waited for the "perfect buying moment", observing all the charts, the signals, the news and so on. And I always was left disappointed by the fact that I missed out because I was too concerned with timing instead of just hodling my investment in something that I believe in.

So the best time? Does not exist. Unless you are a day trader. Although even then Hodling is the best option, always.

If we want to profit in a short time or a maximum of 3 days then now is the time to buy, I have often bought when the price of Bitcoin dropped in a few days, especially since it was a week the price of Bitcoin Red then in 2 or 3 days it is likely that the price will skyrocket again.

It is the finding cash part that makes it the hardest of current times. every body is lamenting that it's time to buy cryptocurrency especially bitcoin because of it bearish market structure, Yes " i will encourage but not fully because in every season of cryptocurrency price speculation two things are involved into the thing's, the begin is  advantages that leads to profit, in addition disadvantages, which also leads to Lost.. so their is every tendency of using larger capital to purchase many Bitcoin while having in mind that soonest it will accelerate. While it keeps on decreasing in value. So that's challenges of purchasing cryptocurrency when you feel it's sure time to make profit.

Its too risky to play short but I like the idea ad a trader since I also know once the bottom already reached, the price will easily arise again and it actually happened since BTC price goes below $30k and within an hour it bounce back to $32k which you can say that many are waiting for the bottom price and yeah BTC will not stay on that level for long so better to buy quickly.

Every dip is a good time to buy so dont hesitate especially if your plan is to hold it for years. We cant predict the exact bottom of the price but even the price decrease further after you buy, you will not lose unless if you panic and sell at loss. Thus for those who are waiting to accumulate Bitcoin, this is the time to take advantage. Certainly the price will bounce back in time, we just have to wait even it takes months or years.

Everyone wants to buy bitcoin when the market starts to fall but doesn't want to try it, finally bitcoin rises again, only to realize that he regrets not buying when the price drops at a very low price. now for me is a good time to buy and buy don't wait for the next day because it's not necessarily the next day bitcoin will fall again. but if it still goes down, then be patient because bitcoin has a fast recovery system compared to other coins.

Even if the OP will also buy back at the current price where bitcoin is under $30k that is a very good thing too. Maybe the OP will get a lower average buy price if he buys back at this time.

DCA might be the OP's consideration if he is going to invest in BTC.

Today is another bloody day in the market, but bitcoin has yet to have a strong sell-off, although all altcoins have fallen horribly. Let's see what happens tomorrow and then at the weekend when this week's candle closes. I will probably be buying some altcoins tomorrow. I think there should be a bounce soon. Too many red weeks in a row, can't go on like this.

I do agree that it is perfect time to get into crypto right now, I am not sure if it will stay this low for a long time, it rarely ever does and it is hard for it to stay low unless something major happens. One big thing happened (fed rate deal) and another huge deal happened (lena), I am not expecting another third big deal to happen right now neither. I am expecting it to go up soon, or at least stay around these levels.

It means that if you get in right now, you will most probably profit from it as much as you could. Doesn't mean that you will profit right away, but there is a good chance you can, if you know what you are doing.

People been thinking and freaking out whenever they do see blood in the market they do really panic and minding about selling their assets without even reconsidering on buying out since these opportunities

I agree, 40k is a great place to buy, 30k is even better and if it happens 20k will be amazing. There is really no way of knowing which one is the best one but if you get in, at least you will not miss out when it goes up. Reality is that if we end up buying bitcoin at 40k and sell it at 60k a year later, we still make more profit than the guy who got scared and didn't get any.

I mean that's the thing, there are so many people who are scared and do not buy crypto for some reason, and that is not really acceptable for me, if you are really believing crypto then you should buy it at any price. FOMO should be right now, not when it is high.

Without a doubt that is a problem, as without money then we cannot take advantage of the opportunities that the markets present to ourselves, but while you may be unable to take advantage of the current opportunity that does not meant that you will be unable to take advantage of future opportunities, so you have no other option but to keep saving and hope that another opportunity like this appears in the future, something that is not as unlikely as we may think as we may always see another luna collapsing and bring the whole market down with it.

You probably meant $40k, right 🤔. In accounting, improper writing of numbers can cause a lot of damage and that's why we're advised to always end with "Only" whenever we write the numbers out in words. I'm yet to see where a cheque is signed without that inclusion of "only". Even if it's $500 million, it comes as $500 million only, and then it's $200; it comes as $200 only.

That said, now look at the time you wanted to buy before Bitcoin took another plunge; see it as a blessing to buy more unit at a discounted rate. This is the problem with many investors. We keep thinking the market can go down more and we procrastinate further until price springs a surprise on us and reverts with a spike. Anyone who has a spare cash they want to throw into Bitcoin has the right timing to do so now. That's my honest advice on this.

It is a blessing indeed to buy in this time, this is a good time many have been waiting for. Their is no need to panic or procrastinate even if it still goes dip, this is the time for bear market,  their will also be a time when the bull market will come too, the market has different season.

yes! you are absolutely right because now is the right time to buy, many Altcoin prices have dropped -90% from their ATH last year,
and this year I believe it is Bottom, so why do many people recommend buying altcoins, try to invest in Top 100 Coinmarketcap for long term

Right time to buy but there are still lots of people who do really still hesitate whenever we do see the market is declining which cant really be avoided and its up to someone whether they would really be

taking risk or simply wait up again for sometime which do mostly ending up on missing out opportunities yet the market cant really be having a dumping state forever which as there would be

always recovery after that and if you do miss out on riding with the train then this is where regret do happens.

Buy more then once, it stops you overthinking things as it is impossible to truely know the market movements in future for sure.   Main thing is the price is not the determiner of success, there are far more important things then the exchanges flipping back and forth like a pinball machine its just a game to them.  Half of the price movements are just traders who give not a dam what happens to Bitcoin and many traders at their desk on leverage with a list of symbols dont actually use the coin outside of guessing the price; these people dont matter the actual users and operators of Bitcoin blockchain do matter.
 The more users of BTC the better off each year thats true, if you could mute price and only trade on the user base you would be less blinded by external nonsense and in the end better off also.

Currently bitcoin is still experiencing significant price decline pressure. If you look at the current price is in the $29k area. Then this is the right time for you to buy in the $29k area and wait for the price to bounce back from its support.

In these few days Bitcoin is still having trouble rising again above the $30k price, so actually there is still a possibility that the Bitcoin price
will fall again. So we have to be careful if we are going to make a decision when buying Bitcoin. So buying at $29k may not be a good time
for short term trading, but if we are buying Bitcoin for long term investment, I agree the price of $29k is a good time to buy Bitcoin. In conclusion,
the best time to buy it all depends on our strategy, so everyone usually has a different strategy, so just adjust it with the strategy we will use.
So make a decision when we will buy Bitcoin not based on other people's opinions, but it must be in accordance with the results of the research

This is why I always call with my hesitation, whenever I hesitate to do either buy or sell any of my hodlings I'll do it for God's sake! I don't want to suggest this but if you hesitate to buy the coin, BUY IT! do it otherwise.

If going for long term it's always a good time to buy, but if you want to maximize your profits, you should get it done strategically. One thing is going to happen in the market, it will rise.

if you did have wait for another couple of days ? then your discount would be higher than that because the price drops even low to 26k while you are tenting to buy at 40kish though that is more than 40% low from the ATH of 68k.

sometimes we need to at least keep waiting m or risk in buying when we already have the funds to invest.

We cant really able to know on whats ahead but at least we do

Yeah, anything bellow the big support is a good opportunity to buy. Actually it did further than $29k, so if others have chance and bought it then good for them.

The bitcoin market has two directions, it can go down more than expected and it can also go up to print new ATH. I think it's always good to buy at any price if it's a long term investment and I don't really doubt the potential because basically price volatility can happen at any time. This "instant" situation is the biggest problem, we shouldn't really expect bitcoin to make us instantly rich, it's not going to happen at all. I personally believe that we should be doing something a bit more long term. Why not consider crypto as a retirement plan? Pension funds are growing these days, older generations are living more and more, back in the day people lived until 70 years old or so, just a few decades ago, and these days 80 or even 90 is not impossible and became a bit more common.

Go and learn Technical Analysis (TA). If you continue with guts feelings alone to make trade calls, you're going to wreck yourself sooner than you would know. Only gambling works on mere feelings, not trading. That's what makes the difference. Except you view trading as gambling, and that would be wrong perception too. Just take a look at when you bought and sold without any navigation and what consequences you were faced with in loss. Take time off, go learn TA.

If we look at the market then when the price is below $30k there will be a very high transaction volume, of course the whales buy while spreading FUDs while investors sell because they panic so that the transaction volume is very large, after the price looks up then the whales will be silent and let the market keeps going up while it sells, these are fully decentralized cryptocurrencies so ignoring prices and focusing on buying is better.

Exactly, it will be favourable for anyone that will take a step to buy bitcoin because the price has dropped down to $28,000 few hours ago which will be better for long term investors to use huge amount of money to invest on bitcoin now. I don't think, the price will fall lower than $28,000 before the end of this month because the price is preparing to increase higher for those that invested on bitcoin to have something good to achieve from their investment. I also believe that now is the best time to buy, the market is red but there is always a high volume of transactions when the price drops and this shows that bitcoin still has a chance to skyrocket, I believe if we dare to buy now then we can get big profits even in a short time.

The price ups and downs will happen for a while longer. We are going to have ETH under 2k, and BTC under 30k a few more times, and then above those lines a few more times as well and it will keep happening that way for unknown period of time. When we are doing much better, that will be time when we are doing a lot better.

I personally would prefer it if we could end up with 40k+ and 3k+ respectively, but unfortunately that is not on the books just yet. It will eventually happen, we are going to have that much better results, but it will not be quickly and right away, it will be much later on and we need to be patient to see that eventually.

Besides, we won't know if it's the right time or not until we buy it. in fact, currently the price of bitcoin has a low price and still has the potential to rise. buy it now is also the right time, or even when we are waiting for under $30k it is also the right time. what's not right is, we never bought it even when it hit $100k, people would still keep asking if it was the right time, until they started. I know that such people want to make a profit and avoid the risk. we are all like that, however, the risk will remain.

Well, I was supposed to say this was a perfect time but of course, this will never work for impatient people. Nah, they will wait when the market started to grow up.

I have big doubts that Bitcoin can hold the 20k line if somehow it drops even further...because if it will , Bitcoin could go to 18k during this year and maybe even next year but I would like Bitcoin to hold strong this area.

Regarding buy time ...well , I must say that it's very hard to make investment right now as inflation hit the world very harsh and it's better to have money in your pocket right now instead in assets and cryptos but for sure , if you still have money to invest , Bitcoin will always be a worthy investment.

You will never be able to buy at the perfect time is the most important thing about this situation, if you are buying something then you should be managing to handle the fact that you are looking at imperfect price, you do not know the exact bottom.

So, why wait for it to be the perfect price? Why would you earn from it? What would be your advantage to just do nothing at all? I agree that DCA is the way to go because it allows you to get in, so if the price goes up then you are profiting but if it is going down then you have a risk lowered ready for you and you can get in some more, that is a very important difference and make you a lot of profit in the long run.

Makes more sense to buy with the price giving more BTC per dollar then buying at double the prices and receiving half as much.   There is so much momentum from recent rises encouraging further buying but when its quite possible to price to pullback as it has done the better plan is quite simply to buy low which is now.  If we went another 10k lower it doesnt mean its negative to buy now, its only traders who have to think like that.
  I said in 2021 I was looking for BTC to consolidate, to slow down basically require more substance before any rise.   I thought I had been proven wrong but we reversed at the top, just took that stall to sell I guess.  Despite fast movements and quick gains theres more then one gear to how fast we go and neither is wrong.   If its going to happen anyway might as well buy in times like now, the only qualifier to that action is buy more then once maybe once per quarter is the best idea as each quarter does tend to mark a cycle or season of development to sentiment and various measures, rate rises or whatever makes markets slow down.

With no plan, it's like throwing money in the dark. If you plan to do something as you have said in the OP, then just stick to your plan no matter what the condition of the market becomes. The problem is that most of the times we don't like the trend so we go against it and it ended up disastrous for us.

Buying Bitcoin when the price is $30k or below $30k, then the target profit percentage we want and how long it takes must be measured in a plan that will make it easier for us to control, because buying Bitcoin is not like playing roulette which makes us have to wait at what number the ball stops.

The price might move that low just like it dipped very low in March 2020 but it wont especially register as significant a price longer term.  Its hard to know the difference but I think we can spike as low as the 2019 peak prices and it'd still recover later anyway.    Selling at the lowest prices out of fear is to be avoided.
   The reason to doubt any low price is that its more of a flash crash event, a call on confidence but if Dollar bull already had its back broke you should stay strong on this blockchain rather then attempt to switch back at the point of weakness.   Might as well sell into any bear rally if you really want to quit imo.

I think the current bitcoin price is very unique because there are always predictable fluctuations, the price range from $28k to $32k has been going on for more than 2 months, a good opportunity to sell when the price is close to $32k and immediately buy when the price is $28k, I've done this more than 5 times and the result is profit.

I think now is the right time to buy immediately, I regret buying a lot when the bitcoin price is more than $50k and now it's down more than 40% compared to what I bought, but this doesn't make me panic, I have a target to continue buying, when red prices like now then the best time to buy.

I guess, the price has dropped down to $29k for those that missed the opportunity to buy bitcoin to use this opportunity to buy  and hold for the market price to move higher before they can sell to make profit. In my opinion, your plan is not good when you buy bitcoin at a price of $40k because currently the price of bitcoin continues to decline where currently bitcoin is trading at a price of $19k-$18k. When you have "buy bitcoin now, even if it goes to 10k eventually, it will be 100k one day in the distant future" that means you are going to 5x if you wait, even if it goes down for a while.
