I was finally able to buy my house thanks to Bitcoin guys!!!

I had sold some of my BTC back in November 2021, and since that moment I was waiting to find the right opportunity, the right house. Now it's done, I've found it and I am more than happy to know that I own this security.

I had no other FIAT savings, no stock in the stock market, everything of value I own I was able to acquire only through BTC. I know it's not reasonable, nor necessarily intelligent, but heh, when you are born broke and have no diploma, no inheritance, BTC is still one of the few real hopes to improve one's social condition and living conditions. At least from my point of view..
I'm just under 30, and after 5 years of doing ALL IN in BTC I don't regret it.

I started out with just a backpack, a few hundred dollars and an old Thinkpad. I spent hours, dozens of hours reading about BTC and economy, lurking here, without even having an account for most of the time. Back in the time, I had sold some of my BTC after a pump to get a place to live (I mean to be able to rent an stable apartment and stopping to sleep in a fucking Citroen C3, or shitty Airbnbs), to get a degree and especially to buy some Antminers. I've solo mined BCH (yes I know, don't judge me, the difficulty was much lower than BTC and my hashrate was low...) and I had a lot of luck: a lot of blocks.
All these blocks rewards, I instant swapped them for BTC, and I held until the end of 2021, where I secured part of the profits by reselling. I continue to hold the rest of these BTC but those will be used to pay for my future retirement.

All of you here, regular and quality contributors, you and Bitcoin have allowed me to have a degree, a job I love, two years of wonderful travels, and finally the security of a home.

I sincerely want to thank you all, I guess for most of you it doesn't mean much, but some of you helped me change my life, and even all the Merits in the world wouldn't be enough to show my gratitude.
I will spend my time as much as possible to give back to the community, to the begginers starting their Bitcoin journey. I am not the most knowledgeable but I will try to learn more each day, and to share what I know when I could help.

Not directly unfortunately, but I can pay them in cash, and I will probably withdraw some cash with a BTC ATM

I would love to pay my taxes with BTC.

I'd rather pay taxes in silver, as that was the money used in the betrayal of the Savior Jesus Christ. Government can get right out of my health and wealth. Paying in btc could be pushed into the political payments as an improvement in some ways although since the systems of governance i know of isn't compatible with the economics of bitcoin, time will tell how that works as it happens.

Well I understand your point but I won't be against paying my taxes with BTC. I would, of course, not share my main wallet which I use to hold my BTC with them.

I have a wallet which is the least active as possible, and I wouldn't appreciate the idea of the government knowing his existence

I would also like to know how many people have been able to change their lives thanks to BTC, for example access to private property or healthcare, it would be interesting to have access to a sociological study of the "winners and losers" of Bitcoin, that could be very interesting from my point of view.

I don't dodge my taxes tbh, I'm in a country where they are relatively low (for example less than 100 usd per year in property taxes, 10% flat tax on all incomes, 10 % on cryptos profits when >3k / year etc.). On the other hand, if I had stayed in my native country, I would probably have tried to avoid them (there it's in the 33% minimum on crypto profits and on incomes...)

Yeah I will hold until next ATH, even if I won't sell all my sats, I want to keep some BTC for the (very) long term. Personally I think there is still time to accumulate more BTC until we'll see next ATH ; the next halving is in 1 year and previously it took several months / a year before it was reflected in its fiat price. But who knows ?  :)

Congratulations, i think that its dream for many people that are into crypto to buy a place to live with bitcoin, including mine. I would also like to add that those who are still thinking whether to buy their first itcoin or not that it is still not to late. Maybe they wont make x1000 but at least they will beat inflation in the long run and thats something and who knows, maybe even buy a place to live with profits.

I also expect to buy a house with Bitcoin, not directly in Bitcoin, but by converting BTC to fiat and then buy it, without loaning in the bank. But so far, it is still not enough, still need to work more and save more. Hopefully, in the next bullish era, I will be really able to buy a house for my family. I ma always dreamed and thought to be able to buy it, and this is a high expectation, but with more effort, probably I will have the chance. Because as you said, I have no wealth from inheritance or I will not be able to get a loan to buy a house or rely on other people. only myself can realize what my hopes.

Many people will say why would you sell your bitcoins, if you hold it for more time you can get more returns but you have full filled your basic needs that is what most important.

That's good to hear mate, I think everyone of us here had some kind of dream to buy something out of our bitcoin investments. And it's interesting that this is also my goal in the next bull run so I'm really saving and stacking sats for the last 6 months or so and will continue till 2024/2025 and see how far I can go. I can feel the determination and grit and perseverance in your story.  All your sacrifices, the long hours of research; in the end, everything paid off.

But there are actually two things that particularly amazed me. First, you are still in your 20s. Many who made money at your age probably won't think of a house yet. Your level of responsibility and maturity is simply amazing. Second, you pursued a degree. To many who have already made so much money at your age and without a diploma would probably conclude that a degree isn't necessary to be successful in life. You were a living proof of it. You could still have made more money without that degree and yet you chose to enroll, study, persevere more, and finish. You value education!

For me what you did is a good move, to sell your bitcoin and buy a house since that's a real state that is also a much greater investment that has a much lower risk compared to bitcoin. I mean what's investing for? Why do you invest? if you're not going to spend it on something that you want. Doesn't it defeat the purpose of investing?

Hoping that I will buy my own dream house as well in the future, using my bitcoin investment, I do earn a lot already back in the day but as a student I guess I wasn't futuristic enough to think that I need to buy a house already for myself or for my family. I am also working hard on accumulating bitcoins and waiting for the next bull run so I can buy a house for myself too. I love ready things like this, you getting a degree with bitcoin is a very good thing to do and this will encourage more people, especially people new to this forum not to panic sell but invest in the long term to have a good return on their investment.

I think in terms of investing in btc there are many interesting stories, including:

: there are people who can buy a house from selling bitcoins, for example like you.

: there are also people who sell their houses to buy bitcoins, but their luck is not good and they end up losing their homes, and hopefully we all don't experience this.
but the cause of the loss is usually due to a lack of knowledge about bitcoin trading.

But you used Bitcoin as a transaction to buy the house you bought?  If you are using Bitcoin as your means of transaction then you have done one of the best. I read all the beautiful things you have been able to achieve not just because of bitcoin but because of your commitment to the project. You really went through a lot to get to have what you currently have now which in my estimation wouldn't have happened with fiat.

As for me, with my present bitcoin holdings, I could decide to get a finally buy a house cash, but I am too scared to sell and be stuck at 1 BTC. My plan is to sell about 35% of it when it hits or goes above the previous all time high. Well, for now, my mindset is to hold-off first and not sell. I know the house is very important and I will sure get in the coming years but not just yet.

first of all, congrats to you for successfully achieving one of the goals many people aim for in collecting bitcoins. buying a house with bitcoin is the dream of almost all crypto users, especially me. However, I fully understand that it is not an easy journey, however, you really enjoy it to the point where you can buy a house with the result of your hard work.
Apart from that, I also hope that this can motivate people who are still accumulating assets until now to achieve their goals. a house is not a cheap property, but with persistence and hard work, we can achieve what we want. once again, congrats on buying the house you wanted. this really motivates me to immediately enlarge the business that I have with bitcoin and then buy what I want too.

If people never use their bitcoins to buy stuff, bitcoin will be useless in no time. Let the OP live in his house and be happy. There are enough people that lost their bitcoins due to a hack or a scam exchange like mt gox. The house that the OP now owns will never go away and he will live happy there maybe for the rest of his life.

Many Many Congratulations on the new House, I hope you grow and prosper in that house and also progress your livelihood by upgrading it. A few weeks back I noticed your name and I was curious why you kept your name as "iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2". i thought maybe it's your wish well now I know. Your story is very optimistic and full of excitement no doubt at some point you do not like it that's because you tend to change it using BTC.

But Overall, it gives goosebumps to me that you bought your own house with BTC because in my area buying your own property and then building a house on it almost cost $15k to $20K minimum. well, that changed with the land area and luxury of the house. it can minimize to $12k too. well, it all depends on market conditions.

I believe there are many people on the forum who own a lot of bitcoins or have achieved their dreams through bitcoin investment but people don't want to brag or they like privacy. In the area where I live, I meet a lot of young people who already have houses, cars, and even real estate, and most of them have joined the market since 2017. Their success really made me envious because I also entered the market no later than them but I didn't seize the opportunity better than them. But I believe that if I persevere, success will also come to me, I am also looking forward to the next bull season.

You have finally done it and now have a proud feeling of buying it in bitcoins (indirectly). Let us just hope that there will come a time when buying bitcoin directly would be dream come true. It would be way easy actually if people are storing bitcoin for long terms and lucky are those who still have bitcoins from and before the 2016 year. They could literally get everything at discounted prices considering the price at which everyone bought it.


I am impressed that you took a very nice decision of swapping the coins immediately. It was a crucial step considering the prices wobbled in the later timing. BCH was way down so you could have lost a lot of money in the process. At least bitcoin kept some resistance and that might have benefited you.

I am not sure if bitcoin is a real retirement asset considering its volatility, but yeah why not we should have trusted both ways and continue to hold always. :)

What am amazing achieve for op acquiring a house for himself. This is one of the most interesting achievements I have seen so far and I have happy for op for his patience to accumulate his fund in Bitcoin and at the end using it to buy a house. We need to let people know more about Bitcoin so that they can aswell have similar testimonial that would make people castigating Bitcoin to see good reasons of why they need to adopt the use of Bitcoin.

I have also thought that bitcoin will be the means which I will use to purchase a home for my family. I have accumulated my coins and am still buying more so that by 2024,when bitcoin halving comes and go,when bitcoin price will reach ATH. I will sell most of my investment and use the money to buy a home but I just hope the price shoots high for a good amount of profit for me. It isn't easy to pile up bitcoin without been tempted to sell,but if you have a plan then nothing is impossible. Having a home that you bought without a loan is the greatest achievement one can have

In the area where I live, there are almost zero young people who can afford to buy houses and cars because very low wages and also high property prices make it almost impossible to own, lucky for those who come from wealthy families because they can get a house or car from parental inheritance.

I think it's amazing that you managed to profit enough and invest enough into Bitcoin to buy your own house at such a young age. Even if you have to pay property tax in fiat, it's still a success story, and how taxes are paid is something that's up to the legislators, so it's understandable. But have you paid for the house in Bitcoin directly? Have you found someone interested in exchanging property for Bitcoin directly? Or was Bitcoin a way to accumulate funds to you, but not a means of payment? It was the former, from what I gather (not a direct payment for the house in BTC), but perhaps I got that wrong. In any case, congratulations!

Wow thanks for all your messages, and all your encouragements! I've read all your messages, they sincerely made me happy, I'm glad to read so many positives answers! Sorry I won't be able to answer them all individually, I think you will understand  :)

To answer those who ask me if I had pay the house directly in BTC, the answer is no unfortunately. In absolute terms, I am in a country where it would be more or less possible to find homeowners who would be willing to sell their property for BTC, or at least in stablecoin. However, I took a partial profit a little before the BTC ATH, I wanted to "freeze" the funds (I mean in FIAT perspective) so I could buy later when I found the perfect home. I didn't want to risk not having enough funds, or selling almost all my BTC if he dropped significantly in the next months/year.
In retrospect, when I think about all this right now, I think I could have swapped BTC for stablecoin, and pay for the house in crypto (or even rebought BTC via FIAT but I didn't thought about it at the moment). I have to admit, though, that I have very little faith in stablecoins and so the idea never occurred to me.

Otherwise, yes the moment of the sale was quite difficult for me, I was extremely afraid to sell at the wrong time. Knowing when to get out of the market is much more difficult for me than knowing when to get in. We all know, it is about psychology  ;D That's why I wanted to keep some of my sats, you never know what the next day will bring  


(I think this will answer to Renampum too, most of my BTC were issued from BCH solo mining and swapped to BTC after each block, regardless of the value of the pair BCH/BTC)
Yeah it was risky to do all-in in BTC, but betting on any altcoin was too risky for me! I just took advantage of the low difficulty of BCH and took the bet of solving enough blocks to reach a target in BTC. The difficulty for BCH mining (and BTC too) was significantly lower than today, I was super lucky, most of the success I had with my plan was only due to luck : blocks solved, BTC price increasing etc...etc.. The great luck I had is that electricity was ultra-cheap where I moved at this time, almost free if you think in usd.

About BTC and retirement, you're right. It is just another bet I'm doing, I am not sure how it will end, but I have a strong faith in the capacity of Bitcoin to grow more and more in the next decades. We will see :)

That's really great. Being able to buy your own house is a dream for many. Bitcoin helping you achieve your dream is another dream for many.
I am happy for you and can feel your joy because I was in you shoes few years back when bitcoin was at $60k.
I used my BTC savings to buy my first plot. The amount of BTC covered 75% of expense and thus I was able to achieve my first real estate property.
Now I have accumulated the amount of BTC back because of bearish trend which makes me feel really happy.

Seeing your thread, I get the impression of someone with some real ambition and you managed to see it through which is great.
I saw your user and I felt and its very much my first encounter with you on the forum, almost felt you were a newbie and so, you can imagine my surprise when I saw Sr  Member and you to have been registered since 2021 August.

You might not have a diploma but, you've got just enough knowledge to put your thoughts in writing and a good one too. That could be the definition between literacy for most.

Also, having to manage your portfolio by selling only a portion of what you've accumulated is the right way to go about it. There is always room for enjoyment of investment.

The average wages of workers in third world countries are very low, and owning a car or real estate is almost impossible. I was also a worker, and with an average income of 250$-300$, it can be said that I will never have the opportunity to own those things. But thanks to bitcoin, many young people in my area have succeeded, and I hope I will soon too.

It would be good if the young people in your area knew about bitcoin, they would have the opportunity to fulfill those dreams without the help of their parents. In today's life, technology is changing day by day and creating more opportunities for all of us, we can't blame anyone if we are still poor.

These type of stories are the reason why I am so much in love with bitcoin. It is obvious that this has been the dream of this person and he managed to do it and that is what all that matters. I am not saying that we will all be able to do it, of course not everyone will be able to do it, but at the end of the day there will be some people who will do it.

Changing your entire life thanks to this is a big marvel and amazing story and definitely something that can't be undone. Although am late here, I must say the sound is good. Congratulations on your achievement! While I haven't yet purchased a house with cryptocurrency, I have begun building my own using earnings from my crypto investments. By buying and selling Bitcoin multiple times for a profit, I was able to accumulate a substantial amount of money and build up my portfolio. As a result, I've sold a portion of my portfolio and have begun constructing my own home. I'm hopeful that it will be finished within the next 4-5 months, and I'm thrilled to be able to use my cryptocurrency earnings to build a home for myself. Overall, I'm feeling quite happy about the situation.

Talking about my dream, I'm also currently trying to collect bitcoin again and again because I was still living with my parents when I was married and of course I can make this a real motivation now considering that you can also do that so indirectly I still have the same motivation to do such a thing.
Even though at this time I still haven't been able to realize it, I will still continue to hope and be enthusiastic so that my dream of owning a house like yours can be successful.

Indeed Bitcoin is for more than one generation a hell of a chance, some of us were not lucky enough to be able to enjoy stocks and good rate mortgages like previous generations. It's a huge opportunity to have this network existing, even if it's risky!

I hope everyone here will reach their goals, I have read many posts that mention holding bitcoin in order to gain financial independence or at least real estate ownership. Maybe we need to share more OP like positive stories in the crypto space, I myself have always been deeply grateful for the opportunities the school has given me. You have endured all hardships, hardships and limitations, continuing to keep btc no matter what. Even when it was hard for you, you didn't sell it and kept holding it. It took you years to achieve your cherished goal. Your actions are beyond praise and a role model for others. In my opinion, btc is a kind of test of character for strength. Only a "strong hand" can make money with it, while "weak hands" will not hold and sell at the first panic.

Same here, although I did not buy the car with 100% BTC, I used BTC converted to fiat to finance about a third of it in 2021 and the money came from a sales in a wide range of 25-50k as I was doing a reverse DCA. Anyway, the average price was probably 35k, so it was possible to get 2x out of it and get the car with half spending only half of the bitcoin that I did.
It wasn't a Ford though, I feel like that's an achievement all things considered.

I still did better than my friend who bought a computer in 2016 by selling some of his bitcoin. It came out to be one of the most expensive computers in the world as the price was around $500.

Yeah I was definitely very lucky when I sold some sats, it was almost at ATH and at the moment I was full of doubts. We never know when Bitcoin will stop pumping, but at a point I needed to secure some profits. Regarding 2022 and 2023, yeah, you're right, if I haven't sold my BTC at (almost) ATH, I would have to wait some more time, the market was pretty difficult last year.

Good news, I am really glad for you. This success story would be a nice motivation for Bitcoin community. In addition to that, patience and hard work are the keys to make dreams true and achieve goals. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't have these values. In fact, they are hasty and fragile. They get scared once Bitcoin suddently decreases and make some dumb choices like, panic sell and converting their BTC into shitcoins.

Furthermore, Bitcoin is able to change your life extremely but you have to believe in it and try to find multiple ways to gain it. Plus, I advise people to work as freelancers  in IT field, that's definitely one of best ways to gain money in less time. And keep holding until Bitcoin reaches the moon again ($65K ) .

Personally I am in a very specific niche, which is not included in the IT related jobs officially. I have a lot of friends who are struggling to find stable and well-paying jobs and I always hesitate to recommend them to start in this field.
I always wonder if after 30 yo and without being almost dev previously as a hobby (I mean for those starting from total 0), if there is still hope to have the opportunity even if only to make some experience to apply with credibility?
In any case, if you have a foot in this field, I would be very interested to have your opinion on this. All my colleagues and friends who are dev, are not objective. They have a privileged situation because they started at a time when this knowledge was pretty rare, and thanks to their great experience they have access to big salaries and great work conditions. Listening to them, everything is nice and "pink" in this environment, while personally I have the feeling that young and not very experienced devs are so easily replaceable that their position no longer has the privileges they hoped for? Am I wrong?

Well, I am so glad to hear that you are now the owner of your own property. I have helped other people to do the same and I count that as one of my own greatest accomplishments in life. These people were in the "mouse in the wheel" of life and they hardly had any savings, but through early investment and also good timing, they were lucky enough to sell their bitcoins for a huge profit and to pay off their houses.

Sorry, I don't really have any tips to give I think, I am not very legit to give some. All I did was buying / mining, accumulating, and hold.
As I had nothing to lose, I just bet on BTC and was lucky. Of course you need knowledges, understanding what you are doing, and to invest some real money, but I was lucky regarding of the difficulty of mining, the different prices I bought BTC with "big" amounts of fiat, and that the life didn't made things so hard that I must sell earlier.
For the mining part, I mined some sha256 altcoins, and always convert them in BTC. I paid almost nothing for electricity per kw/h so it was not too risky. The difficult part was to buy some Antminers at the beggining, but they were very cheap if I compare with the last I bought in 2021.
For the buying part, I just bought BTC each time I had money to spend on it. It was like a DCA strategy, I was buying regardless of the price at the moment.
It always takes some time (IMO at least one halving / 4 years) to be very profitable, but it depends of the situation of each person.
If I was located in the USA, the target needed would have been higher than in my actual location.


Yeah I was hesitating to sell dozen of times... Sometimes I was like totally fiat broke, 0 on the bank account and the salary coming only in a long time. It was difficult to not touch the wallet but in reality I wasn't able to withdraw any sat during this times. I would have felt guilty if I did, and I had a clear target to reach, so it made it easier to hold.
The only times I didn't hesitate to use BTC was when buying more Antminers, because I was "sure" to earn more than what I spent, in a long term perspective. It was not always a clever choice, but globally it was profitable. I just lost some money with shitty Antminer S9k, some units were totally useless.

Not gonna happen in a million years I think. The government is pretty indignant with using the native currency for everything that involves finances like taxes and properties, plus a lot of people in today's era are still none the wiser with what bitcoin could do, so it's going to be useless waving a ledger with bitcoins in front of their faces offering to buy their land when they don't even know what bitcoin could do.

I'd argue that owning your house is both a blessing and a curse. For one, it is real estate, so you can bet your bottom dollar you'd get large sums of money from it if you ever decide to put it up for sale, but on the other hand, the costs of maintaining a house far outweigh the costs of renting, plus the housing bubble is soon collapsing with countries outside of America, like China for instance already experiencing its effects.
