Bitcoin Penny® Spanish Treasures Collection — Gold Doubloons, Silver Reales, and Copper Cobs.

(WARNING: THIS COLLECTION MAY INVOKE ANCIENT BLOOD-OATH CURSES. COLLECT AT YOUR OWN RISK.)

Introducing the new Spanish Treasures Collection from The Bitcoin Penny Company!

In the 1600s, Colonial Spanish coinage was considered the “gold standard” in global currency. Gold Doubloons, Silver Reales, and Copper Cobs ruled the worldwide financial system. These coins were traded and spent at nearly every shipping port around the world. This universal acceptance of this Spanish hard currency was due in no small part to its absolute perfection in both weight and purity, which the Spanish insisted upon and guaranteed in its official State coinage. And it was this all-embracing trust in the superb quality of their gold, silver, and copper coins that tempted some nefarious outsiders to amass and accumulate these fine Spanish Treasures by any means necessary, no matter how dark or dangerous. Today, this tumultuous period in the pursuit of unquenchable wealth is known as The Golden Age of Piracy!

The Bitcoin Penny® Spanish Treasures Collection painstakingly reproduces this infamous physical coinage with a modern twist and nod to today’s more modern digital Bitcoin cryptocurrency. Nearly every single stage in the historical manual of 17th century Colonial Spanish coinage has been meticulously recreated in order to express a fully authentic production methodology for these very special crypto-collectibles. Handcrafted from start to finish in traditional Old World fashion—weighing, melting, pouring, rolling, trimming, stamping, filing, hammering, and verifying (weight and purity)—we’ve even employed a unique, post-manufacturing tumbling process in order to add a little “under sea” weathering to these fine gold, silver, and copper pieces for a final touch of grand authenticity!

The Bitcoin Penny® Spanish Treasures Collection is AAARRRGGGHHH-uably (pirate pun, couldn’t resist) one of the most exciting premium coin collections to hit the high seas of the cryptocurrency collectibles market in a very long time. Claim your gold, silver, and copper booty today!

Spanish currency from the 16 to late 1800s are some of my absolute favorite coins, so you're naturally combining two of my favorite things here with cobs and crypto  8) ;D Here is a fun video you would love that I noticed also makes a nod to the similarities of Bitcoin and Spanish Cobs (at the very end) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5INCV7AQTI

Great job Chris, this is fine craftsmanship! Now I know what you were talking about in your post the other day. I'm not sure if I have enough sats allocated to even get a complete set of everything, and wow only 11 of the 1oz extremely rare gold pieces left!!! I'll see what I can do, i'm going to send you a PM.

FUN FACT #1: Most of these treasures are minted with Satoshi Pirate wearing his eye patch on the right side (his left). The chances of finding a special left-side eye patch (his right) on your coin is exactly 1:10!

Very pretty collectible pieces. Probably the first silver and gold hand-pressed Bitcoin collectibles I would assume?
Design is fantastic. Will reach out via dm for a set or two.
Aaaarrrrrg!

btw, that box design is fantastic, Mopar. Looks a little bit big for a few coins - what are the actual dimensions of this thing?

gabecoin did a 1gram gold - i think it was hand pressed - pretty damn small though icg couldnt slab it as it was too small lol

as for the dimensions - the one I completed is 100mm wide x 85mm deep and 81mm tall --- I made some modifications and now printing at 75% of that size. First of the new ones will be done in 9 hours.

I think the link expires in 2 days but here is a time lapse of the first one printing

Ah, this rings a bell! It only had a BTC stamped on one side, right?
I do have a minted 1 g goldcoin - it's pretty pretty imho, but you do need a microscope to read the text...
(yes, a strong magnifying glass does the job, too)

Ah, not too tiny for a few coins, I thought maybe it's playmobile sized.
That timelapse is so cool! Can you make a cookie-chocolate version? This looks tasty for some reason? xD

You're welcome! Let me know what you think of it, I find it most intriguing.

I love the spin you put on these with the reverse eye patch coins!!! So basically there are 10 per denomination and are those odds also the same with the 25 1oz gold coins? No wonder you made so many dies on these!!! I was trying to figure that out.... now it makes a lot more sense to me.

smaller box, added logo and mask - short rolls added for size reference. If some of the edges look a little rough, it is the filament - this is an actual wood based filament so its not as smooth as PLA would be. Top of the box is a little white - appears to be from the supports/brim - will try to clean that up tomorrow.

Also there is no painting involved, this is all multicolor filaments.

Positively awesome, fantastic work!
(I never even knew there is an actual wood based material for 3D printing.)
Maybe just a slightly darker color could be more suitable perhaps, IMHO. Or is it possible to stain it afterwards like a real wood? That would be uber-cool with a clear coat finish. And down inside a fish tank like a secret stash...  ;D

It would look better darker / this just happened to be the one I had. Hmm i can try staining it / usually 3d printd can be painted so stain should work too.

Aye! The listed BTC price is six days aft and needs new rigging. (I'll try me best to keep her shipshape with a new BTC price each morning.) Regardless, fear not, me hearties! We always honor the most recent price upon billing. It's in our code, after all. ;)

Are these going to be thin enough to get slabbed?  :P

Title: Re: AVAST! Bitcoin Penny® Spanish Treasures Collection now be here!

UPDATE #1: The first batch of silver, copper, and 1/4oz gold coins will ship at week's end. The remaining orders will ship once finished. (Handcrafting each coin takes a bit of time.)

UPDATE #2: Our new Spanish Treasures Collection is now available for purchase directly on our website (BitcoinPenny.com (https://bitcoinpenny.com/)) for those who prefer the purchasing power of dirty fiat (PayPal / credit card).

UPDATE #3: Finally, after many months and years, several new projects which we have been patiently and quietly developing have finally come to fruition. All at the same time. LOL Therefore, some of these new projects will be announced and released simultaneously, and some will be released individually a little later in the year. Please bear with us while we mass drop some epic goodness. ;D

Are these going to be thin enough to get slabbed?  :P

Great question! According to the ICG website:

"ICG’s attractive, tamper-evident holder...measures approximately 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 3/8 inches...It holds coins, medals and tokens as large as 40 mm across and 4.5 mm thick...We will also custom cut gaskets to fit “odd” shaped coins."

Our thickest pirate treasures are only 3mm, so there is plenty of room in the ICG slabs. (I haven't checked the other grading services, but I would imagine that they are all very much the same.)

Thanks again, mateys!

Cap'n Chris @ TBPCo.

I had them reject a coin because it was smaller than their smallest ring so it would move around - so they wouldnt do it.

According to their website, our treasures should slab beautifully, as they all meet the size requirements (9mm-40mm diameter, no more than 4.5mm thickness).

Cool Cobs!! Why do you not put keys on them?

Because then they would only feature a design on one side (sticker on the other) and wouldn't look like a "real" pirate treasure. But don't worry, we have new and exciting DIY coins ready to announce. We're just waiting a little while between precious metal releases. Coming soon...

Thanks, MJ! I was a little worried that my wax seal COA (unique to every coin) would be too strange of an idea, but I loved its simplicity, so I ran with it. (Plus, in my extensive research for this project, I discovered that in the early 1700s, they rarely used holographic security stickers as an anti-counterfeiting measure. Wax seals were much more common.)

Still more coins available, everyone! Buy yours today! :)

This is why I have complained about ANY maker doing a project that is a pre order that you must pay for ahead of time.... if the maker does not have the money to fund their own project.... they should not go forward with that project.  it's VERY simple in my eyes.  it's way too easy to put it off and be lazy because you don't have to recoup your own money.  i hope this is a lesson to all of you... that you should not buy it until you can touch, see and hold the item.  The maker could exit scam or god forbid pass away... you would never see your funds again.  it's just an AWFUL business practice!!

I'm also fair and call out everyone... BCP has been logged on this forum since these questions were posed and has not replied in public... neutral and red trust is showing up.... some answers are REQUIRED.... has the BCPco been FTXing and using customer funds while not producing?  At this point it's a valid question.

Good morning, everyone. Thank you for bringing to light our suuuuuper slow shipping and absentmindedness on this and other projects over the last 3 months. (And thanks to Anonymousminer for pointing out that this is unnacceptable for any business, regardless of it being ours in this case.)

As many of you know, we've been juggling several projects, many of which are longterm projects that are only NOW coming to fruition, and that means I've been absolutely scatterbrained trying to do everything at once. In fact, I haven't even had a moment to bump this sales thread in over 2 months! (I've been logged in with an open tiny tab on my laptop, but that one tab gets lost in the vast sea of open tabs among which it swims.)

That said, here's the status of this particular project...

Half the golds are already shipped, about 90% of the silvers, and only about 20% of the copper treasures. However, I'm committing to minting the final coins this week and next, so they should all be shipped out by then.

We're only a few short weeks away from having all these projects finished (finally!) and back on track for the easy train of production and delivery.

In the meantime, thank you to all friends, customers, and forum members for a successful (nearly) 10 years in this business, and we look forward to another 10 years!

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

Don't worry. We've had to put few projects on hold until the start of the year, and this is one of them. We considered the possibility of issuing refunds to the 4 customers (and we still can, if one wished) and canceling the project, since it runs similar to another project that has been in the works for well over a year and is almost ready to reveal (finally!), but we decided to continue the project and just release at the start of our 10th year. But Mopar is right, we had considered canceling the project at one point recently. However, we decided against it.

Thanks again, everyone.

Chris@TBPCo.

Wow!  What are the dimensions of that eye candy?

This hand-poured and meticulously (and laboriously) crafted 1/1 prototype is approximately 4" across by .56" thick and made of solid .9999 silver in a frosted/polished two-tone finish. (With this one, being a prototype, we didn't worry about fine-tuning the final weight, so while it's stamped as one kilo, it's really a little over 1.125 kilos.) We finally nailed down the entire production process of these silver monsters (which was much more difficult than originally expected with a million little annoying tweaks along the way), and the actual official Silver Mini Manhole Covers will be released as soon as we catch up on the current Spanish Treasures orders. Those will have the same overall size and weight as this prototype, but will likely have smooth / polished edges. (Personally, I love the rugged, hand-poured edges, but I understand that I may be in the minority in that respect and that most people may prefer their precious metals with a smooth and shiny finish.)

Chris@TBPCo.

 :o :o :o  :o :o  Super Big Daddy Bling Bling         ... just a wee little question

So? Is that 1 Kilogram TROY or Avoirdupois. I'm thinking Troy (like the rest of us) but would like to see the markings to reflect that

1KILO= 32.1507  TROY Oz. (roughly)

The troy system is distinct from the avoirdupois system that is customary in the United States. Importantly, the troy ounce is 1.1x greater than the avoirdupois ounce (oz avdp). In contrast, the troy pound is smaller, comprising only 82.3% of the avoirdupois pound. Today, the majority of prices for precious metals are given in currency per troy ounce.

The modern use of the troy ounce may appear outdated, but its persistence into the 21st century provides a fascinating tie to medieval times while also safeguarding the quality of precious metal transactions worldwide. Pennyman? You sell worldwide, correct? I know it's a small detail, but there are many collectors that would appreciate the defining of which unit of measurement you're using. That's a Big Daddy Deluxe  :o    lol, I know it takes 2 hands to handle the Whopper, same scenario for this Big Daddy, huh?   :D ;)

Thanks for the great question, Fattcatt. You're right, there's a lot of confusion around the various weight measurements commonly used today. (One reason why I'm a big fan of the worldwide metric system. It's just so beautifully simple.)

Generally, an exact weight may be given by any one of the following three common methods — Kilograms, Troy Ounces, or Avoirdupois Ounces. For this particular project, we chose the kilogram method. However, for anyone who might prefer to know the exact numbers for all the various measurement methods, here's a quick breakdown:

Kilograms: 1.000
Troy Ounces: 32.150
Avoirdupois Ounces: 35.274

Thanks again!

Chris@TBPCo.

I would like to provide a public update for my order of 1 x 1 oz Gold Pirate Coin.

I ordered this coin in June, and was in communication with BitcoinPenny several times regarding shipping date over several months. As the order was paid via PayPal, I am approaching the end of the 180 Day Buyer Protection.
As such, I requested a full refund of the order due to item not received. BitcoinPenny kindly agreed, and a PayPal case was opened to ensure the refund was made prior to the expiration of the Buyer Protection.

Unfortunately, a week after the refund was initiated, I just got word that the refund failed. PayPal shows a “cancelled” status, and indicated they are following up with BitcoinPenny to ensure a timely refund. To be clear, this is an issue on the merchant (BitcoinPenny) side.

As a result, I have left a temporary negative trust on BitcoinPenny’s account. I will call PayPal to ensure the Buyer Protection case has remained opened and was not closed prior to the refund failure.

I still have trust and confidence that BitcoinPenny will resolve this in a timely manner. I hope to avoid the invocation of PayPal Buyer Protection on December 2, 2023.

Morning, Mopar.

Sorry for the late reply. I was on the road yesterday.

As for the remaining Spanish Treasures orders, the copper coins will be all shipped by Wednesday (only 6 sets left to make), with the remaining gold coins scheduled by the end of the month, with most shipping before the holiday, so that'll be good.

Thanks again!

Regards,
Chris@TBPCo.

I am still in limbo with PayPal and awaiting a refund after my first refund was cancelled. PayPal states it was cancelled by seller’s (BP) bank account.

PayPal updated the estimated resolution from Dec 3 to Dec 9.

Okay, thanks for the several insights and updates from BP and tothemoonsands and others.

I'll make an order (with BTC that high now) as soon as things have been resolved and when there are SegWit and Lightning payment options (with current high fees on the network it's more needed than ever).

End of the month has come and gone.... what is the deal here?
Apparently the copper sets have not shipped.
I keep getting more and more people telling me they are owed the gold coins  ???

People are still owed $$ fiat dollars from refunded payments but cannot get their funds due to failed e-checks meaning lack of funds in your bank account.

I also notice that neither of your listed BTC addresses hold any BTC...looks like they immediately get cashed out... circling back to your lack of funds in the bank account

WHERE ARE THE COINS ??
WHERE ARE THE FUNDS ??

A final/comprehensive update to my situation.

Timeline:
On June 20, 2023, I placed an order for 1 oz. Gold Coin via forum and paid via PayPal. Listed stated to allow for 2-3 weeks for production & shipping.

On July 7, 2023, I inquired about the ETA and was told that silver/copper are scheduled to ship at end of next week (7/14/23) and that gold won't be shipped until sufficient volume of orders are paid (10 x 1 oz gold coins minimum)

On September 27, 2023, I inquired about the ETA for the second time and was told the coin will be in hand by year's end (12/31/23).

On November 12, 2023, a dispute was officially opened via PayPal due to item not received. I wanted to open the case prior to the expiration of the 180-day Buyer Protection policy. Agreement was made that coin should be delivered prior to 12/1/23.

On November 13, 2023, the dispute was formally escalated to a claim. This ensured the dispute would not be closed prematurely, and kept PayPal in the loop. Agreement was made that a monetary refund would be provided.

On November 15, 2023, an ACH refund via PayPal was initiated by BitcoinPenny.

On November 24, 2023, this ACH refund officially failed due to being cancelled.

On December 7, 2023, I inquired about the status of the refund, and received a response from BitcoinPenny 12/9/23 indicating in non-specific terms that I would be made whole.

On December 20, 2023, I inquired again about the status of the refund. Out of desperation, I offered the solution of breaking up the refund into multiple installments, or even accepting a gold coin if that could be delivered sooner.

On December 21, 2023, PayPal finally issued judgement of the case in my favor. PayPal initiated a second ACH refund attempt.

On January 4, 2024, this second ACH refund attempt failed again. PayPal agent stated that the refund checks were being processed on the seller's end but both times "they were contacting their bank shortly after to stop the payments from going through". PayPal manually reversed payment and it is expected that I will finally receive funds from PayPal in 3-5 business days. PayPal placed limitations on BitcoinPenny's account, and issued a negative balance.

While I have not yet received the funds from PayPal, I believe There is finally a conclusion since PayPal has taken the loss under Buyer Protection and has remedied me. Accordingly, negative trust w/ flag has been issued.

For everyone's transperancy, here is a screenshot of the last response I received on 12/23/23 when inquiring about the shipment date of the 1oz. AU doubloon:

https://i.ibb.co/bX5JLNj/Screenshot-2024-01-04-at-4-58-55-PM.png (https://ibb.co/DQfpkwP)

Also, FWIW, I received two smaller coins that had been owed to me for a very long time just before Christmas.
I'm not sure what's going on personally with Chris, but while communication has been spotty, he hasn't been completely AWOL.
Not going to jump to a full conclusion yet, I'm still hopeful that BTCP can deliver whatever is owed so at the very least Chris can repair/uphold his reputation and BTCP Co. retain their legacy.

LOL I love the pirate personality, tread. :)

And I'm still here. I'm simply focusing all my attention on filling the last few orders before taking on more sales/trades. (In fact, we filled a few more gold coin orders last week, so only a couple left in queue.) Once we're straight with the remaining orders, then I'll be happy to take you up on the idea of a trade—one of my coins for one of your coins. No problem. Just let me get these last orders filled first.

Thanks for the morning laugh!

I understand your frustration, sweeteye. These last few orders are taking much longer than expected. However, we are filling them, slowly but surely. We hope to have the next two orders filled by February 15th, with the last two scheduled for the 29th. Possibly sooner. It's a long slow trudge, but we're almost at the finish line. And I appreciate your hanging in there.

He logged in today... but just blowing everyone off as usual.  Can't believe people still give paypal penny the benefit of the doubt.

All you have to see is the main bitcoin address of the BCPCo pictured below.  So quick to cash out every time that a 7 year old bitcoin account shows a loss from total received to the total spent.  You don't see that very often on an active 7 year old account.  Millions passed though his hands and he just lived beyond his means on your guys dimes.  He obviously wasn't a bitcoiner as he NEVER believed in it to keep any of the OVER 120BTC that went through his main account alone.  As far as his large loan he's on the hook for.... not a single Sat paid back, just a long BS pretend apology months ago with more promises to never be filled.  Maybe cash grab penny would be a more appropriate name for a no coiner maker pretending to be a bitcoiner.

I will not include the entire message but here are some edited bullets from what I was told via PM:

- I am trying to get these last few orders minted and shipped ASAP.
- Trying to catch up financially from last year.
- Continuing to work on fulfilling other silver coin orders.
- Attempting to continue to raise funds to be able to mint the last Spanish Treasures orders.
- This project is “my most top priority” and will continue to be unitl they are officially delivered.
- “Please know that I have not skipped the country or exit scammed in any way. I'm still here, and I'm trying my best to deliver on my promises ASAP.”

Not sure what is really going on behind the scenes, but this is what I know now. I am still unclear why the initial amount paid was not enough to cover the cost of the project. FORGET the idea of pre-orders, this was never sold as a pre-order. So something must have happened to the BTC or the USD and he can’t buy the gold. This is what I assume. Otherwise not sure on the financial issues delaying the production. I totally agree with AM, but at this point not sure I can get a refund. With BTC going up would be impossible to get it back in USD or BTC as the amount I paid would be enough to fill the existing orders and more. So as frustrated as I am, I can’t do much more than wait unfortunately.

Geo

All coins will be handcrafted upon order. Due to the meticulous handcrafting process involved in the creation of each individual coin, please allow 2-3 weeks for shipping.

I would call it a pre-order - the coins did not exist when pymt was sent, metals and coins would be made after order/pymt would be processed.

If I had a dollar for every time a user accused me of running a Ponzi Scheme only to have it discovered that they are running a Ponzi Scheme… I truly feel sorry for those who got caught up in this mess and won’t hold my breath for an apology from any of you. Then how all the seats are not funded until they reach thresh hold? Meanwhile you have 90% of all the seats? A decade? oh and how will they accrue any balance now as the mining pool is closed and you sold your miners? are you getting more? is the only way to accrue more for the seats is by buying seats?

You should just pay out everyone who holds a seat for their balance and end your ponzi.

Ahhh yes.  I remember the Slack scam where someone pretended to be Bobby Lee and scammed 20+ BTC from a user there and then was so generous with their supporters until they overdosed.  Class act.

This is about Bitcoin Penny running a Ponzi though...  I really don't think we need to start investigating and shining a light on the wrongdoing of people who are no longer here.

I have him ignored for his constant lies about me, but I'll respond for you if you'd like.

I was paid 0.5 BTC per month + was allowed to keep anything except the BTC/BCH/BSV/BTG (I think on the BTG, going off memory).  I'm sure there's still a bunch of forks at the address I never bothered to claim.

I was not called "slimy AF" I was actually left positive trust feedback by theymos for my service.

I do not own 90% of the seats or even a majority of them.

The seats aren't funded until the threshold to keep small seat owners from having dust build up on their address that they cannot spend because it would cost more than the transaction fee to do so.  If one understood Bitcoin, they would know why nonnakip put this in place.  I didn't have anything to do with it actually and was alerted after it was put in place along with everyone else.  How long it takes to hit the threshold depends on the amount of seats someone owns and the amount of support the organization receives.  I try and do my part and I think the hundreds of BTC I've donated to the project over the years should be evidence of that.  The seats have never received BTC from the sale of seats.  All distributions from seats have always come from donations or mining rewards.  When one purchases a seat, you're purchasing it from someone else in the club and that person receives the BTC.  Even when people buy Minted Seats, they are minting a seat they own or purchasing a seat from another member automatically when minting one through the shop.  The amount from the sale of Minted Seats that is donated to the club is the proceeds from the sale of the coin that would typically go to a coin maker, but I generously donate to the club.

I have a standing buyback offer for anyone who wants to sell their seats for their share of the coins held by NastyMining and have had it on the thread publicly since March 28, 2021.

I lost my BTC in pirate's ponzi alongside everyone else.  It's weird that he speculates about my Bitcoin holdings and thinks I would need to do anything shady after being an active member in this community since 2011.

Making baseless accusations at someone who cannot defend themselves as they passed away.  You truly are a despicable piece of shit.

We could dig into it further but like I already said, there's no need to shine wrongdoing on people who are no longer here.  I've been quiet about it for years but we can talk about why I left the Coin Council Slack Group if you'd like.  It's 2024 and people are airing shit out.  I'll Katt Williams the fuck out of this community.  :D

Once again, let me try and steer this back to the Bitcoin Penny situation and how concerned we should all be.  What amount of loaded coins has he sold?  What's the total amount of potential liability here if he decides to use customer funds like an ATM again in the future?

If a mod could not delete this so I don't have to keep explaining this over and over again every time I post in this section, that would be great.

To my knowledge, the only keyed and loaded item he made were the manhole covers and the similar sized wooden discs

Manhole Covers: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2361029
10 made, each loaded with 0.01BTC, Total of 0.10BTC
Not sure if all 10 ever sold

Wooden Discs: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1818749
5 made, each loaded with 0.01BTC, Total of 0.05BTC
I know he kept one for himself and I know that one has been peeled, leaving a potential 0.03BTC

Total bitcoin possibly at risk: 0.13BTC

well I was not quoting Theymos as I dont recall the exact name he used for what you did. I will find it. And I have never said a single lie about you.

as for owning the majority of seats - pretty sure that the largest holder is you - would that not make you the majority holder?

You may not have actually "stolen" any thing but you are still slimy AF for how you went about it. Even Theymos said so...

Hmm, I made a similar comment and it was deleted by a mod.   ::)
