Title: Examine yourself.
Post by: Lida93 on July 27, 2023, 10:16:11 AM
For minutes I paused reflecting about my time in the forum raising self-directed questions and contemplating on them. Questions like what are those things I can say I have actually learnt since when I joined the forum. How has my growth in knowledge of bitcoin being ever since and what more do I really need to know continuously.

Some people may wonder, why then did i had to bring it to the forum, why not quietly work on  improving yourself more regarding those questions. Anyway, the need to me extending this to the forum is to ignite and reawakening in members that may have lost consciousness of that fact for them to examine themselves for a check and balance.

As a member of the forum and you're not growing in knowledge of the main purpose for which the forum was created for then it's a waste of time and energy for you.  The forum is not just about earnings so if your growth in the forum is focused in ranks you are basically not growing.

In otherwords, if you are lucky enough to scale through the ranks without proportional growth in knowledge of bitcoin then such growth is no good growth at all. A newbie in bitcoin knowledge but an old member by rank you just like a container without a content. So it would be nice of us if we can from time to time take a quiet moment and examine ourselves in relation to the idea behind the forum, ask ourselves necessary questions regarding our timeline with our level of knowledge to the actual purpose of the forum (bitcoin knowledge).

By doing so we can easily keep track of our development and growth rate and try in balancing it side by side ranks and bitcoin knowledge.

Disclaimer: Am just trying to make a  common sense and not that I think myself more aware, knowledgeable and serious than anyone else in the forum and this post was not meant to belittle anyone"s rank at all.

Just as it will be bad for someone who works in a place where they bake not to have any idea about baking, it is also bad to be on a forum about bitcoins and not know anything about it when asked. I want to know more, that is grow in knowledge just as my rank does, and because I have this in mind, I am very intentional about my knowledge and the time I spend on the forum. I read through topics that I know that I may not even be able to drop a comment, but I read through them still because I know that knowledge comes from reading and constant learning. I am more knowledgeable than I was because I devote my time to the commitment of learning. This is what it should be.

This forum enlightens me for all the things I need, I came where with a zero knowledge how does the bitcoin works, what are the things I can do and I need to do to engage with the bitcoin, for the three years in the forum I learned a lot of things even mistakes this serves me a lesson (expensive lesson) not all trades, investment is profitable but at the end it changes my perspective and life about investment, I know to my self that I'm still lack of things to grow up more with the bitcoin community this will serve as my stepping stone for my future. To the newbies ideal to encourage themselves this forum is not only for earning but for the growth of your knowledge.

If you rank up with your good posts, you deserve to be hired by campaign managers and companies because your good posts will help their advertisement through signature better.

Knowledge, rank and income exist and grow together and you will have better income when your rank is higher. Ranking up when your brain is empty is impossible and even you rank up without knowledge, managers will not hire you when checking your posts and see only no quality posts.

You cannot earn in the forum without having some knowledge of why you are here. Why did I say that? Because 80% of discussions taking place on the forum are all about bitcoin, teaching people new things about bitcoin and any other new information about crypto So you can see that everyone who comes to this forum is there to learn about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Even though they will engage in the signature campaign, they must have knowledge of why this forum was created and any other things they need to know. Because the signature campaign comes later when you spend some months on the forum, and I believe that for someone who is serious and ready to learn before ranking up, they will have something that they have learned. However, someone cannot  rank up without the knowledge of which the forum was also created.

When I joined this forum I didn't know much about bitcoin or other crypto currency but I took time and patience to learn about these things and today I believe I have learned a lot. Knowing and learning about anything depends entirely on oneself. If I don't understand something, someone can explain it to me, but if I don't try to understand it, no one can explain it to me. Curiosity makes a person more efficient. You and two of your friends are sitting in the same math class. In the same math class, your friend asked sir to understand the things that he does not understand, but you did not try to understand those things. So before we know who has gained how much from the forum, we must first understand how much we have tried to learn.

Everyone may have a different standard about his development and his contribution in the forum. There is no specific indicators to measure those things, it all depends on an individual perception and target.

Anyway, I often evaluate or examine my development and my contribution in the forum, I know it is still far from my target. However, I'm sure it needs a process, I'm sure to develop gradually as long as I never stop learning. I also believe that improving knowledge and quality of our posts are parts of positive contribution to the forum. Sure, it is not only about growing the rank, developing our knowledge and contribution are the most important things. Basically, improving rank won't be achieved if we never improve knowledge and contribution. This is what I believe!

One of the best lessons I have learned from my time on the forum is that is you are here consciously you will learn more about Bitcoin than on any other platforms. And you will not just learn but you will also grow through the ranks with os a reward on its own. On of the users that I look up to in this forum is Ratimov. That guy spends an average of 6 hours per day on the forum. It is no surprise that he is one of the highly decorated, respected, and knowledgeable members on the forum.

There are a lot of active members on this forum, and everyone on this forum has different intentions for why they are here. But for whatever reason, I think that Bitcointalk is one of the best communities to learn about Bitcoin and also get help from other experienced Bitcoin users. Right from my joining the forum, I have not stopped learning and reading about Bitcoin, because, indeed, I got to the forum through some references and believe that the forum is the best place to meet and share knowledge with other Bitcoin users. Bitcoin investment, Security and privacy, and managing Bitcoin investment (holding) are what some people are always careless about, but since joining the forum, I have not stopped learning and obtaining good ideas about Bitcoin investment and also practicing what I have learned.

even though we don't know the real motive someone is still active in the forum. but what I believe, until now those who are still active in the forum must have made progress. at least gain new knowledge or even new skills. many knowledgeable members who can inspire us. like my very poor skills and asset management at the beginning of the trading and investing that I did. finally, I read from a member that the separation of trading and investment assets must be done to reduce unwanted risks.

I never regretted my time spent on the forum as during those times I learned a lot and when I made some mistakes, there's always people who corrected me where I am glad they did. Well, we don't want to spread wrong information right mate?. To know how much you learn in the forum then try answering quizzes and other things to determine how much you have learned during your time in the forum. I am planning to do the same to see if I still remember most of the things I learned in the forum about Bitcoin and other related topics.

By doing so we can easily keep track of our development and growth rate and try in balancing it side by side ranks and bitcoin knowledge.

Ranks is not always reflected with our Bitcoin knowledge since this forum already have different branches aside from Bitcoin. Some can get higher rank with normal knowledge on Bitcoin by being good on other category like Meta and Investigation.

I admit that my Bitcoin my knowledge is on the normal level because I’m not a developer that has a knowledge on Bitcoin technicals. But, my knowledge is enough to keep me safe away from hacker and at the same time invest on Bitcoin. I don’t mind lacking more technical knowledge as long as I can invest on Bitcoin same with other pro here. I leave that technical side to them and we normie should be happy with that.

I do agree with you 99% that without knowledge and good posting you can't rank up but on the 1% I think we can leave that argument for another day.

But in this frame we can't say for sure that there are people whose level of knowledge about bitcoin definitely match with their rank but that doesn't mean they have no knowledge of bitcoin entirely. What I expect for people like that to do which am not an exception is to fire up the interest of reading and learning much more to keep up with their rank level if after examining they find they the knowledge doesn't commensurate.
More like advancing and pushing for more knowledgeable notes within the forum.

It's aslo because of the most active forum community and huge memeber base while there were many other crypto forums also having similar interface but this forum has experienced and knowledgeable members always trying to share helpful content with us here. There are many technical supporter also in the bitcoin network itself trying to make it more secure who are ready to help on the forum and give some information about it.But this will always help you if you are keen about it otherwise you can't have growth in yourself.

No reason to regret spending time on a forum, it's just similar to all other social media apps you use, just more specifically a community for Bitcoin Enthusiasts. I have literally learnt a lot in my time here and love to share it with new users, it's always fun posting here and learning what new is happening around as I no longer follow anyone in Crypto Twitter. That shit was very depressing and changes my mind so much.

Bitcoin is vast and everyone specialized in one area or the other. So those who rank up in the forum are good in the area they do well in the forum so don't even think that a legendary member was rank up with trash posts or shitposts. If someone make 4 or 5 mistakes out of 2+k posts and that doesn't make the person a shit poster. Op if you have someone in mind to create this thread, then try to know the person capability on bitcoin then you will know that the higher rank was not just achieve but with good post. The basic knowledge of bitcoin is very simple, but remember a good learner does not like to end at the basic but like to go deeper, and the deeper part of bitcoin in most time come in the time of the higher ranks. If one is really here to learn, forum is ready to give you the knowledge. Op if you want to know the deeper part of bitcoin, then post in wallet board, technical board, and reputation.

Op to be honest, my coming to the forum was mainly to get knowledge about trading which I found more interesting than anything else but on getting here I can say that I have been blessed to have come across so many great people who have been of great help to me with their quality post. First of all I came into the forum with zero knowledge about cryptocurrency, zero understanding of how the forum works but having spent one year already here I have been able to learn and still learning the things which I found difficult to do in the past. The first post I came across that motivated me to stick around the forum was a post made by KingsDen about some avoidable mistake of the newbies I think reading through the post I said to myself one day I will grow not just growing in rank but in knowledge too because knowledge was my main aim of coming here but today, I have got some knowledge for my trading and I have also benefited from signature campaigns which I never had in mind of getting. No regrets of being here because right now I can boldly do things I have never knew how to do in the past with the help of the forum and her members.

Anyway, the need to me extending this to the forum is to ignite and reawakening in members that may have lost consciousness of that fact for them to examine themselves for a check and balance.

The forum is where we learn everyday and the forum is designed for quality information to be shared and this will make one to have reason for self development.  I think it is very important to examine ourselves if we are doing enough to develop ourselves that can enable us to give quality contributions in the forum.  Self examine is a good to give assessment to improve and if enough have not been done over the time, their will be a need to put in more effort.

Just yesterday I read some wise words from a platform that says that self advice is the most potent form of counsel. And the only way one can properly advise yourself is through self-evaluation. We should periodically check if we are really achieving our personal and organizational goals. We have to make sure we achieve both of them because achieving only personal goals may lead to less contribution to the forum and not achieving personal goals may lead to low morale or motivation.

I will not say I have learned so much but I can attest that the more time I invest in the forum the wider my knowledge about bitcoin and other aspects of life. The bitcoin space is wide, complex, and dynamic so one needs to patiently keep learning and relearning. I have not regretted using my time in this forum because it has made me better skillfully, financially, politically, and so on. But as you advised, I will have to take a few house and examine my activities in the forum. Maybe listing some of the this I have learned will help me to determine if I have made some progress or not.

You get the point... Intervals reevaluation of oneself in whatever field we launch ourself in is a mechanism for progressive improvements by way of knowing your areas of weakness and striving to do better on that part. Without self examination there we can't see a need in us for self development.

All right,OP. Obviously, If a person comes to a forum with an interest in cryptocurrencies, he will first read about what he is most interested in. Thus, his growth and promotion in the forum are natural. But it's rather strange to see some merit hunters rushing to get some merits in one way or another and get involved in signature companies as soon as possible. The forum often hosts quizzes where merit is distributed easily, and it is quite easy to track those people who need fast growth, but the question always arises: what's next?
Then we see shitposting, plagiarism, and the use of AI tools. Such cases end badly for these craftsmen. Question: Isn't it better to go through the forum consistently so that in the future you will understand what you are writing about and not resort to all sorts of tricks?

You are right that mate there are many newbies form way back 2 years ago or more but now still a newbie because the reason of they don't think the importance of forum all they think is money.
Through this forum we learned a lot of things because older members takled most of a topic that we need to know and all we need is to search those topics read and understand in order to grow and reach our goals.

Self appraisal is a necessary tool for the self aggrandizement of any individual. It is fine to at a point retrace your steps I an organisation, institution or group you find yourself. For there to be a successful self appraisal, there must be some set goals which will serve as a yardstick to measure your success or failure.
However, there is a rare situation where people do not appraisal themselves, and that will be in a rare situation that the person doesn't esteem whatever they needed to self appraisal. For instance, someone who joined the forum for fun or without a purpose has no reason to self appraise.

As a member of the forum and you're not growing in knowledge of the main purpose for which the forum was created for then it's a waste of time and energy for you.  The forum is not just about earnings so if your growth in the forum is focused in ranks you are basically not growing.

There are people here who do not align with the purpose for which the group was created and they can still be successful.  For instance, a designer may open a thread for great designs and earn handsomely from it. And we know that the purpose of the forum is not for designs, but then the designer is successful even without knowing much about bitcoin.

This forum has helped me a lot, I will not say that I have gotten all the knowledge but to an extent, I now think differently because of my exposure here.

When I joined this forum earlier this year, I was without information on how this forum operates, but with the help of many sound minds here, I was able to know the rules that are guiding this forum, and this has kept me on the right track.

OP, I get your drift on the self assessment push you're giving other users. Sometimes, some of us may lose ourselves to forgetfulness and just come here to post for the sake of posting to keep our accounts active in preparation for an open slot or post to meet up post count without actually putting in the real work. This forum is a win-win for all who truly treasure it, both in knowledge dissemination and earning. I've repeatedly said this. I don't see any reason that anyone who takes their offline job seriously wouldn't take this place too as valuable. Your thread is a wake-up call.

I agree with your analogy, but still, I believe one cannot rank up in the forum anymore if they are not knowledgeable and experienced enough thanks to the Merit system. Those were different times when all a user needed was activity points and some posts of almost any nature to rank up and become a container without content as you said, but now, things are different. A newbie right now is basically a newbie by knowledge as well and that is what he should be considered.

Though you are right about the users that are old, who ranked up before the Merit system was here, and since they've worked only to rank up and never really focused on gaining any knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, they might have very high ranks but their knowledge and experience is still less than a newbie's.

A newbie right now is basically a newbie by knowledge as well and that is what he should be considered.

I don't think you can generalize it that easily. First and foremost a newbie is a new forum user. He or she can have no knowledge or a lot of knowledge, depending on prior interest and whatnot more. Someone can read quietly for years and learn without the need to write a single post. Maybe not the common case but I did exactly that. And there are newbies who gained merit and ranks rather quickly because they already had some decent knowledge here and there.

On my forum journey with my current account I wanted to participate and contribute and test and grow my knowledge. As far as I remember I didn't care much about ranks. But I appreciated merit as this was a token that my contributions were considered helpful and worthy for those who merited my posts.

I have seen many users decorated with campaign signatures and it was obvious that those don't do it for free. Believe it or not, but for myself I didn't care. Signature compaigns were not my main goal. And I would advise new users not to focus primarily on that or you will have a hard time unless you're smart and have some sort of plan to achieve your goals.

Still, this forum is for me primarily a source to quench my thirst for knowledge about all stuff around Bitcoin in particular and cryptocurrencies in general.

You are correct, but it is not always the case.

The forum has different sections, including local boards, and sometimes people get merit in their local boards, which is enough for them to rank up, and once you have ranked up, there is a chance for you to earn through the signature campaign because some of them allow posts in local boards and gambling sections, which have nothing to do with intensive Bitcoin knowledge.

However, I feel that any active user who has been a member of this community for more than four months should be able to learn a lot about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency because that is one of the key topics being discussed in various parts of this forum.

If you are not receiving any merits since then but you are actively participating and engaging on forum then theres must be some kind of mistake on your writing or conversational style in here. There must be someone that can appreciate it or like it, if none then thats it. You need to make improvement and probably give more effort to be on par with others. How others received merits just like that. Maybe try to check out some profile for admiration and see how they do did. Its not like you copying but getting idea to have knowledge on better ways how is it done.

There s always a need to keep track of the places we've been and where we are. It defines forward Ness or backwardness or if we are just stationary. A lot of us might just be stationary about the things we've learned. Not because we don't realise learning is continuous nor do we not realise the need to keep on seeking more knowledge but, sometimes we humans act like a bulk of it being contented with the little we've acquired but that ought not to be so.

The brain is one part to our human existence that is never filled and bitcoin continues to evolve still more ways or approach to its innovation of which, onenperson can't comprehensively state that they know it all which stresses the need for a continual learning. It refreshes the mind and exercises the brain.

I know someone can rank up in their local boards, but ranking up is not the main issue. What about the key knowledge of the main purpose of the forum? Even if someone comes here because of a signature campaign, such a person needs to learn about bitcoin, and for someone who wants to be a good poster on the forum, I don't think the knowledge that has been acquired from their local boards will be enough for that person to participate well in his/her signature campaign. My reason is that local boards do not have enough topics of discussion that someone will be posting every day, and if you want to be a good poster, you can't always be active on your local board. You need other sections too.

For the gambling board, there is nothing new there, so you can see that someone who wants to do well and wants to be a good poster too must engage in the main section of the forum. Not just local boards and gambling; however, there are some posts we do not only because of signature campaigns. And most of them cannot be done on the local boards, And gambling section.
