Gamblers who make gambling the sole activity that they can have fun with will quickly transform into addicts, this is the exact thought I had today.

Gambling  frequently either for fun or to make money is a certain way to get addicted.

If you are gambling for fun, It will be better to have many other activities (options) that you can catch fun on, so you do not always have to gamble whenever you think of having fun.

Gambling is not basically for fun but a means of earning passive income. I doubt there are people who started gambling just for the fun of it; the primary motivation to venturing into gambling is always the money. Along the line, one can find fun but this is not the main thing about gambling.

People play video games and sport for fun, at least those does not require so much psychological body as there are no financial commitment. I think gambling is not even suitable as a means of fun because a single bad daw will make the fun disappear

That is an excuse most people use when they lose money,they gamble for fun.The truth is that most likely some persons do really start playing for fun but once they start doing it in a frequent way then gambling for fun is their excuse while there is certain that they play to get their money back or to earn more or to hit a huge multiplier,something along those lines.

By gambling frequently is a sure way to get addicted and there is no escape from such happening if you are not careful,an intelligent person should know when to stop and see when things to go south consistently,it is exactly in this moment that one has to find the courage to stop,sure it is not easy yet very much doable.

I highly agree.  Because if a person sole purpose to gamble is to have fun, there is a huge chance that he will be incrementing his time, bet size and risk to fulfill the excitement he wanted.  We all know that there is this thing called "the law of diminishing return".  The fun gets diminish whenever we always play such game so to maintain the fun, player have to increase the risk or time involved in their gameplay thus making them hook to the game and eventually have the uncontrollable urge to gamble.


Not if they are able to moderate their gambling activity.  As long as the person is able to control his gambling activities and always gamble responsibly, the chance of getting addicted to gambling is lessen.


I agree, that diversification or diverting attention to other things can minimize gambling addiction and I believe the most important factor that can keep us away from being addicted is having self-discipline, responsible gambling and moderation in our gambling activities.

As a gambler who’s trying to keep a healthy gambling lifestyle adding other things to keep you busy is very important as you wouldn’t want a situation where you’re always in your gambling account trying to play and while away time and there are numerous things that could be done to achieve this.


Majority of people who bear this thought turns out to be addicts or either gamble to the extent that they gambled away their valuables.

It is true that you can profit by gambling but still it’s not advisable to keep the thought of making it a means of earning passive income.

Gambling should be more of understanding the prospect of what we are doing and the reason why we are doing it. We need to have other things we are doing apart from gambling like having a job we go to everyday and the gambling part could just be to make extra bucks to what we have already.

Sometimes we can decide to gamble for the fun because there are still people that enjoys playing games and making extra bocks for themselves. We don't have to see gambling as the only way we could make money so we need for get something doing so that we don't end up playing and taking too much time in gambling which could have a side effect on us as gamblers.

If gambling is made into a pleasure then this will tend to lead to addiction so the choice of other activities is very important, for example, if you like fishing for pleasure or other things then it is appropriate to forget a week of pleasure in gambling but if this is the only one I think they will spend a lot of money on gambling.

I myself am not gambling the only pleasure, but many other activities are a little forget about gambling if you leave the house, if you are at home and boredom occurs, you will have fun at gambling.

One can still go to a casino house to play games without gambling, it's also another cool way of having fun. If you think that you must involved money to have fun then it's a wrong impression, there are lots of games to play online or offline without you putting money to have to these features unlocked for you but since we already stick this at the back of our heart that for one to have fun we must involved money at the expense of doing that.

We can go watch football or wrestling, this is another cool way of having fun without even putting a dinm and you won't lose, rather it would increase your interest to gamble next because the more you watch the more you discover some secret behind them.

You're right but you can't stop people from gambling if they're doing it frequently to have fun. They might be in denial from being addicted when they do that at most times but they'd say that they're still in control.

And we're all free to do any other activities that we can have fun with aside from gambling. When it's about relaxation after you gamble, it's true that we need to do some other activities that will remove that stress.

Don't just get into gambling if you want to have fun, find some other activities that you will also find it fun whether they are indoor or outdoor activities, there's a lot of them to choose from.

Most of my activities are money sinks, and I feel like gambling is the only 'fun' activity I spend the least money on. I'm engaged into old school MMORPGs that make me spend thousands of dollars every month just to keep up with the current items with the strongest people in the game. It still gives me some money in return though, but not as much when compared to gambling.

Even though this is the case, I believe that I do not have even the slightest hint of being addicted to it. I'm still not getting too much into it and just spend a very minimal amount per week compared to what I'm earning in a month. It doesn't hurt my bank, I still can get a week or two without it, and it's not the only thing I think about throughout the day so I think I'm good.

Yes, I totally agree to what you said about not letting gambling be our only option when we think about having fun, because since it involves staking of funds with a risk likelihood of we either winning or losing our staked amount, such individual is likely to go bankrupt or probably get addicted if care is not taken. Hence, if only we could have other activities where we derive fun from it (e.g playing of live soccer games, playing of chess game and Scrabble), it will go a long way reducing the rate at which people get addicted to gambling.

Gambling is not the only activity that one can get addicted to. There are so many activities out there that you do not even need to stake any money for a potential win that one can get addicted to. You need to understand how addiction works. Addiction comes as a result of performing an activity or action that gives you a rush of the hormones that make you feel good. One can get addicted to playing football, playing video games, running, lifting weights etc The rule of thumb here and it applies to all of them is that everything should be done in moderation. You can gamble for fun and gamble to make money but is should be done with moderation. It is key, it is vital and it cannot be overemphasized.

Since it just a thought maybe you could be wrong at it, wherefore if it was  to be a findings out of forensic research it would have made to have agreed without a doubt.
If you have control over your gambling lifestyle it doesn't matter what you gamble for fun or money you won't be getting into addiction due to your self-control except for where it is lacking.

on this corner I think I do agree with you, having a variety of pleasure seeking activities will even make us not get bored with it, unlike when it's just one alone we can get bored at it.

It could be true. The devil will always corrupt an idle mind and if the mind focuses only on one thing such as gambling then all there is in that mind will just be gambling. It is important to engage in something else to have balance like playing sports and social activities, especially friends and family. Having more hobbies will make a person busy especially when they have pets or a girlfriend.

This is why some drug addicts have profiles that are not into sports even in their youth. It's almost predetermined they are going to fail in life.

Watching a football match is a fun activity you may not have to bet on it because it will still be fun if you force the fun to always spend money then it's wrong you will still run out and get addicted forever.

Even with gambling games also do not have to be with money just use demos, but that's no thrill.

Fortunately now there are still physical activities that are more prioritized including playing soccer so this will not lead to addiction it will still be fun what I feel.

There are so many fun games that you like to do without having to gamble.

Can someone really gamble for the fun of it without having emotions attached to it because money is involved.


So down to the point, do people stake money and don't get attached to it? If you have staked money then you are gambling and that has emotion too. So if someone has to have fun purely, you can install some games on your phone or go to game houses where you only watch games. It is difficult to gamble while your emotion is isolated from it.

by "fun" in gambling it doesn't mean that everything is "fun", but when someone says that they gamble for fun it means that they don't take it too seriously and their thoughts are not focused on money when gambling since they are just having fun.  because not everyone gambles to earn money, there are those who just play around and look for entertainment from it.

and besides that is the reality ,that those completely depending their good life into gambling are the people that does not have a best  future in real life.

yups , because if this is for fun then there are so many things to prior in life same as if to make money? then that is a NO NO for me.


and also  if you really wnated this to be for fun? then better to have a Buddy in which you will never go gambling without Him so you will need to have obligation to control the situation

But in the long run, it's very unlikely that someone will gamble without having the emotions. Because every single cent that we spend in gambling, they're all precious and that should be taken seriously by all of us.

We just don't want to gamble and lose but we keep on track with our money and that's why the emotions are high when we gamble especially when we're losing.

This isn't only applicable to gambling, it's suitable for anything even if you do something productive it's important to take necessary breaks to keep your mental health stress-free. If someone is only focusing on studying or singing or whatever thing they are more interested, it will look like the people is going crazy when third person is looking that person.

I never understood people who played for ‘fun’ because there’s not much fun in the game anymore when they are losing money but then I guess the fun part only comes when winning.

There are lots of other activities that you could do that could fuel your competitive spirit without really ruining your whole life. You could play sports or video games. Maybe take up other hobbies as well. Be crafty and create something whether that’s a pet house or a home accessory.

You are not right. Maximum people play for fun. It is true that many people come for fun but later turn into addiction and then they don't play for fun. They play as if they are addicted to gambling.

Yes there is nothing to be skeptical over debating on what leads to addiction as jrrsparkle is pointing out allot of things is been addicted by human as long as one can go contrary to it objective. There is no doubt over this many never observed the fun aspects of gambling as the attraction of earnings take more than 95%of the purpose why many gamble. I will categorically say that if the remove earning out of gambling even the so called percentage who may use it as fun may not continue as they still have atoms of earnings as derive.

I understand you, anything that is being done either for fun or as a way of earning money as time goes it is possible to become addicted in the sense that we tend to be more committed to things that we find pleasure in and things that brings in money basically in life, so it is good to find other ways of having fun as well instead only being too attached to only gambling because it also helps the mind free from emotions that may arise from gambling later.

Actually gambling is not a game for fun.  Gambling is based on money.  But among them there are many people who play gambling for fun and take various risks.  The main purpose of gambling is to have fun and quit at the end.

Gambling I earn a lot of money by addiction slowly I feel attraction towards gambling but suddenly one day all earnings fail and I am lost gambling addict Gambling leads people to destruction.

Just go to gambling site when you wanted to try your luck , and also use luck as  a a enjoying material and not to make you millionaire .

this can or claim? nope they are just hypocrite to admit their main objective when gamble

Better to admit that you wanted to make money so the lesser you will hide the
