Title: Satoshi Superstar needs a Woman Contestant
Post by: Phinnaeus Gage on February 05, 2012, 01:07:39 PM
There's a new contest in the works by edd, and I feel that it would add value if there were at least one woman on board. Hope you'll consider it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62175.0

This is great! So far we have 0 women interested. All we need is one more and we're golden.

(no image due to a Google image search of 'woman bitcoin' resulting in too many pictures of Bruce Wagner and that tattooed girl in Vegas)

Thanks, deslok. Done!

Now, I would still like to see a newbie or recent whitelisted member as a contestant, as well as a person not currently connected to Bitcoin like this guy:

Then we'll have a nice round out field.

Ok I read that thread, and from what I gather it's some kind of contest inspired by the glut of reality-TV programs out there right now.  Is this something that's going to be broadcast on Youtube, or how exactly does this work?

That was before the males controlling the accounts were banned. But, it appears there is still one female user.

A woman?  In a Bitcoin competition?  What is this, the mall?

Great, now for team discussions we get to hear "I feel" language all day long.

We'll explain Bitcoin to you after you share Victoria's Secret.

You're right! It's either a woman or Bruce Wagner. Your call!

Interesting! I see what you mean, THM. Down the road, many women will be starting threads. I, for one, can't wait.

I changed the title of this thread to better suit the thread's theme and per vite's suggestion.

Perhaps something a little more Cosmo in your approach?

"Desperately seeking BitSusan?"

"Tech-savvy SWNM seeks fun-loving, hashmate with benefits?"

SWNM means "single white n___? male", typical of dating classifieds

Ok I read that thread, and from what I gather it's some kind of contest inspired by the glut of reality-TV programs out there right now.  Is this something that's going to be broadcast on Youtube, or how exactly does this work?

How Contestants decide to complete their Tasks will be left up to them. (Sample Task here (http://www.satoshisuperstars.com/blog/task-example/).) Uploaded videos could definitely be a part of it, but they won't be required.

I'm attempting to run a competition without focusing on any particular skill set; one that can be won with only creativity, perseverance, and ingenuity (and an internet connection). Of course, if you have skills that can be showcased well in an online medium, you might have a bit of an edge.

Good response, edd. Here's hoping that Mousepotato accepts the challenge seeing that it's not a trap while she reaches for the cheese (100 BTC grand prize--winner take all).

I think you have your Randys confused.

I just realized that Randy Quaid's mother and my mother had the same first name.

I might be down for this.  But keep in mind I work full time and go to school too, so contest tasks will have to take a back seat to my IRL priorities.  As long as the tasks don't involve going out into the woods and surviving on bugs for a weekend :)  Also, while I can do video presentations, I'm horrible at public speaking, even if it is into a webcam.

How many contestants are there so far?

I think 5 so far. As far as the task are concerned, I'm sure most consists of writing shit with plenty of time to accomplish the task. Worse case scenario, you don't make it past the first round, but at least give it your best shot.

You know what's weird about your name? My little sister's nickname is Mouse and my younger brother's is potato. You don't happened to have a witch or Jap in your family, do you?
