The initial distribution of Vocal Coin will be through an ICO to ensure a fair and secure network at the start, also, the main reason to make an ICO is to ensure a decentralized overall system using the funds to develop the platform on exchange of a big part of the future profits and advantages Vocal will bring to investors as the Vocal coin will be in the core of the website economy.

The price of Vocal coin will be stagnant at 500 satoshis (0.00000500 BTC) each one during all the ICO time; the length of the event will be 7 days and once it finished the downloads will be available and the escrow (exchange) will hold the funds for 3 days to ensure stability. If any amount of coins is unsold, they will be destroyed by the exchange.
Initial coin offering is on C-Cex but Vocal team aims to get it into another high volume exchange during first days (bittrex, cryptsy).

Due to our new communicate and recent news, we extended the ICO end date 3 more days until this sunday, in this way more people are able to know about the project.
The ICO will be hosted at C-CEX exchange, it will start the Tuesday October 30 at 17:00 hours EST central US time and will end on November 9 at 17:00 hours.

I think these days, new coin launches lose an enormous amount of interest when announced from a newbie account.  It has become and instant scam alert just to see that alone!   I know it is the VERY first thing I look at on an announcement page.

I think the days of newbie account launches is coming to its end, so many people just turn away for this one simple thing!

Yeah I hear ya bud and agree to some point, but I don't think it changes the fact that this is an automatic trigger for many to turn away.  POD has been somewhat of a joke and seems to have done little in preventing scams.......hello Midas Coin.  It may seem funny but I for one trust someone that posts an ANN from their own REAL account much more than I do a brand new account with a POD.

Cause this isn't Ganja coin, Hash, Weed, or any of those other stupid coins with no real purpose.

This is going to take a lot of support from an artist community choosing to use it as a launch platform, but I can see its potential.

Still, it'll have to combine the services of Bandcamp, IndieGogo, and Itunes and bring something extra to the table. A challenge for sure.

All this coin really needs at the moment is more attention from the public... I think we should start getting on our Social Media accounts and spread the word. I think this coin can work wonders for artists and music consumers alike!

I personally think VocalCoin has more of a vision than Rox Coin did even at it's prime. Personally, I think that the ICO that Vocal Coin will be doing will help it get even more of a push so that it will stay alive and go further than Roxcoin.

I'm a musicians and i already sell my albums thru market and digital distribution(itunes,spotify,googleplay,reverbnation,bandcamp,etc etc). They give me directly USD every months for streaming or albums bought thru thoose distributions channell.
So, for me it's hard to choose to be paid in Vocalcoin instead of EURO or USD as for now.
How many artists will choose to be paid in vocalcoin when every digital distribution pay you directly in euro?

Few bands starting now accepting bitcoin as payment options for theyr album.
It's really hard to make btc inside musicbusiness,quite impossible for an altcoins.

You can always just make your Vocal into USD... the whole point of having a coin that people can use to give back to their favorite artists is because it's safe/fast/easy for the customers. Most people don't enjoy having to type in your credit card info every time you pay for something online. This coin is making it easier for the customers. Therefore it will be easier for artists to be tipped and given money to help support their music.

Vocal can be instantly converted into BTC , so practically you are being paid in BTC which you can convert later to usd. Also the coins you mentioned have nothing to do with vocal, we already have an active roadmap and economic plan.

In most Pow coins many people only waste BTC mining with rented hardware in high difficulties, or big mining farms can manipulate hashpower or making dumps. So only Pos is the more fair distribution outhere we found for Vocal.

Ive thought about this idea for more than a year myself. Soundscan tracks via barcode and every music retail outlet is connected to the same network in order to track those sales. This is obviously possibly, Itunes does it, i have a pretty good idea for a work around though using crypto..

The advantages using Vocal over bitcoin is the mere fact that we will have a crypto currency solely for this purpose with faster confirmations and no inflation which price can only depend from our platform, not external events.
Some mechanism will be integrated in blockchain/wallet too in the future, like distributing profits.

Welcome, also regarding to the interest, is better an inflation distributed along holders than to miners and as explained in the paper, systematically destroying coins from fees and profit can make the coin trully deflationary.

I think this coin is one of the few who seem to have a very active dev team even before launch, they are already working and accomplishing the goals they said this can be huge, it has now 1 song and when more get added, if only one of them get famous a single hit can worth hundreds of thousands of usd, this can help even bitcoin when people notice that song was released with a crypto currency.
i will give them a chance.
