Personally, I generally like to place multiple-ships. Because even if one ship gets sunk, I can wait for the remaining ships to earn a return and then cashout! I find multiship to be a lot more fun than singles. Each round has a payout multiple for each ship, the payout multiple that you see in the middle of the board is your current payout multiple (taking all your ships into account). For example, if you placed 2 ships: Ship 1 got sunk Ship 2 is current on a 3x payout multiple Then you current payout multiple will be 1.5x (assuming both bets have the same value) Makes sense? From the house perspectives, this game is a lot more appealing then money pot as multiple players iron out the per-game variance. * I like the provably fair scheme, it's cool how the server is allowed to target a player (if it wanted) yet still be fair. However, I would like to see the maths published of how you calculate the multiplier as well as a layman's explanation (e.g. house edge) HOWEVER, it's not actually provably fair. This is because the odds reflect the fact that the server dumbly bombs you. But we have no idea if this is true or not. So the way to make this fair, is make the server intelligently bomb (e.g. not target pointless tiles), and have the odds reflect that. * Sometimes the network lag at time makes the game unplayable. I often see 10 bombs at a time. And haven't finished placing my ships before it starts. What I would like to do is have an atomic place bet option, where I can layout my ships, bet per ship and autocashout at once. And then atomically bet. The first (and only time so far) I played, I kept running out of bits or mBTC or whatever unit, because I never cashed out. I just waited until my ships got blown apart. I was confused on how to win the game, then I realized, I was supposed to click cash out before I lost all my ships. Ok.. I just played some more now, with the "click the cash out" and the "auto-cashout.". hehehehe. You will also find loads of lag problems and the secret to winning in this game, is to time your exit, but in most games it lags so much, you get bombed and only see that 5 seconds after it happened. {Not fair towards the player} I was hoping to see a referral system for this, but I guess it's still being developed. Will be a GREAT game, when all the problems are sorted out. I think one of the things we will do is to extend round length so that even when there is lag it doesn't affect play. Although we are definitely working hard to optimize performance. We are definitely spending a lot of time to smooth out the kinks and a referral system is going to be released soon! The tricky part isn't a deterministic shuffle, the tricky part is getting a fair seed. You need a way to prove you don't pick a seed that over the day leads to smarter bombing. Here is a good proposal on how to do it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=709185.msg8528454#msg8528454 and see my critical amendment in a following post. It's rather complex though, and going to be a pain in the ass to verify. I really like how yours works as it's so simple -- but the server should be doing "smart bombing" what ever that means. It'll also add an extra spice to the game, as you feel like you're playing against a smart server who is allowed to play as intelligently as it can. Quote 2. An idea that I have been toying with is whether we can use game start time as the "client-seed". And in order to resolve latency issues. We can have the precision down to a minute. Not perfect but that way it is pretty difficult for the server to game the system because the game start time purely depends on how long games are. Alternatively, we can use the results of the last game as a client seed (for example, which the names of players, details of bets etc). That way, the client seed is completely random. Thoughts? This doesn't work at all, because if you were a single player (or rejected a bet of a single player) you can do a client seed rejection attack, which even by being able to do a single rejection could turn a 0% house edge into a 25% (and of course you could reject more than 1) Quote (It would be awesome if we could ask Dooglus for some feedbacks on how to improve the provable fairness) I would recommend you first read his original replies about the provably fair on MP and understand the issues of designing provably fair for a multiplayer game. If you want true provably fairness, i highly recommend you make it single-player, it simplifies a lot of the issues. The reason allowing 1 tile ships works, is not because it proves the distribution, but proves if you use anything but a random distribution it can be exploited. I think I got an idea. I am initially against the idea of 1 tile ship because I fear it will make the game boring. It is a 7x7 board, and if everyone places a 1 tile ship, each game might last like 2 minutes. But what about this. You can place 1 tile ship and place the tiles anywhere you want as long as you place 4 tiles. And if any 1 tile gets hit, all 4 tiles die. We updated the game with autocashout, so now even if you internet connection drops you are still protected. Each player is now provably protected in the event of a connection issue whether it is our end or the player's internet connection. Block so people can't put 1000 ships to one spot. Like make it 1x on one spot , currently i see people flooding server with 50+ ships on one spot. But still allow people to put same spot where other people place it . Whenever site getting popular , by popular i mean about 50k-20k registered, maybe less, make it so if you login , then it's asking random question, to make website more secured , because there is a lot crackers nowadays. add back auto betting, it's good for people who doing small amounts of bets. I don't really know why this was removed :p Could you also add player stats? I actually wanted to help him with a signature campaign, he said he would start one but he paid only like 1 user for 1 week and then stopped. And I agree with you either there was a hacker, cheater, or someone really lucky who just empied the sites bankroll. Either way I say the failure was due to lack of advertisement. Lesson learned never hold any balanced on sites like these, always withdraw as soon as you are happy with your winnings. Very small chance that the site will run in the 10 minutes you deposit, play, and withdraw Yeah it sucks. There are a couple people that still have faith.. but I highly doubt it. Was a fun game while it lasted tho. I played with like 2k bits when it first came out, won some. Withdrew fine. Kenobi seemed like a solid guy, surprised he ran with funds.
