Post by: Liberty Payout on May 31, 2012, 01:49:15 AM
FORGET ABOUT IT I'M DONE. I'M NO LONGER OFFERING TO SELL THIS BALANCE. YOU GUYS ALL SEEM TO THINK IT'S STOLEN OR ONE THING OR THE OTHER, SO FORGET ABOUT IT. I'LL FIND SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUNDS OR SAVE THEM FOR A RAINEY DAY. DONE BEING CALLED A SCAMMER, AND SICK OF THE BULLSHIT THAT LITTERS THIS FORUM.

For all who were genuinely looking out, thanks. Everyone else can take their business the fuck elsewhere, congratz.

OP said looking for 170 BTC, but I guess he changed his mind.

3 BTC.

I tried to get evidence this was not a stolen account using PM's and I did not get a message back.

I was just going to buy it out right in the other thread.

Be careful.

Thanks for the heads up.

In case anyone didn't realize, Goat's talking about this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84083) thread.

LibertyPayout, (a) can you confirm that this is not stolen and (b) are you willing to use escrow?

How did you end up with that huge balance on amazon in the first place?

Did you buy too many gift cards? Surely you're pretty pissed now that you have to sell the balance for less than you paid?

No AGC is accepted as exchangeable currency on a wide arrange of forums, you can sell RSGP,PP,AP,WU,MB,WMZ in exchange for Amazon Giftcards. I'm not really upset about afterall in exchanges there is always a loss/fee to exchange. You will see with the transactions posted below that I've bought everything I wanted from amazon, it was a miscalculation in spending. I thought there would be some purpose to the funds but once I had them I couldn't find anything I really needed from the site.  While amazon seems like a huge market there are some things just not available there that I need, so I am selling the balance which is now no longer very useful. $4,000+ On amazon within this year alone:

It seems that the issue you guys are having is the low price? I would be happy to raise it if that satisfies you, look through my posts I am eager to get BTC because I have some investment plans I am looking into. ALSO THE ACCOUNT IS NOT STOLEN, I do not know where you got that idea from. How many random people have over $4,000 in amazon GC's laying around on their account? Let's not be preposterous please, I understand caution but let's execute some rationality with it. Last purchase I made was in April (Kindle App), if the account was stolen don't you think they would have gotten it back by now especially with $1,000 sitting on it.

Not a lot, but how many people have $4,000 lying around on their credit card, which a thief can use to buy amazon giftcards?

You have to understand there have been many scammers on this forum, and many have sold amazon giftcards bought with stolen CC's, this is why were very skeptical everytime somebody tries to sell an amazon giftcard/balance/ordering service.

I would think that if the funds were stolen then the account would be locked by now, I have ordered to my address as you can see since as far back as the beginning of the year. No police, no issues. The account is linked to my e-mail it has my cards on it, I used to have prime as well. No issues. I can't guarantee the origins of the cards as I have received them from others but to the best of my knowledge the person I was talking to was the person using THEIR OWN card to buy the cards. Additionally reference the dates for the giftcards they are spread out over several months in different amounts. You seriously think someone was charging hundreds of dollars to the same stolen card for months without anything? If you would like to imply next that there were several stolen cards use the same logic to answer that, $4000 is not a measly amount and far exceeds Grand Theft. I am sure Amazon would have enough experience to haggle down on these issues, also please refer me to where people have scammed for amazon GCs and accounts so I can see there  threads in comparison to mine.

you had more options than just sending me your ID. however i have lost interest in this. seems too good to be true.

My inbox seems to have cleaned itself but you asked for an ID. I don't know what other options you gave me, you asked if I were willing to use and escrow or go first. I said go first since I see you are a reputable member here, so tell me what other options did I refuse?

no worries, m8. Thank you for taking the time to post those screnies. We're really not trying to pick on you, some people are more cautious than others.

Would you be interested in fulfilling peoples wish lists? I'd like to buy a copy of Diablo 3 with BTC. And, how much would you want for it? Was holding out for Amazon to get digital copies in but am tired of waiting.

OK this guy is starting to look very suspicious.

Looking for mining investments:

Loans:

and selling Amazon GC's on this thread.

All I can say to everyone is be careful, this is a new account that signed up 2 days ago, we don't know much about him and he wants to do lots of business. Be very very careful when dealing with him or anyone with little rep.

Oh Lord, there are a shit ton of trolls here. I'll make this simple, read VERY carefully. I came here for knowledge and to do business, if you want to pull up posts do research thoroughly. Don't just go for the bad. To a point, yes, I can understand the "hype" around new members but you guys have taken it to far. To assume every new member is automatically a scammer is prejudice and it is extremely restricting. This is a BTC market/discussion forum. I am marketing and discussing otherwise I have no use for this forum. Take the time to actually read the threads not just the titles.

You're pulling up this quote?:

I would like some help though as I am new. Do you have a skype I can talk to you on?

Ok, are you seriously for real?

First you sell Amazon gift cards (countless scammers have done this), then ask for loans (countless more have done this) and now your looking for mining investments?

You're really pushing your luck, I'd advise everyone to be very very very very careful when dealing with him, this guy reeks to high hell.

I wanted to ask him how many bitcoins he mines with his rig and how he set it up, what equipment etc. I'm not asking him for a loan just for knowledge which he was offering to share to newbies. Bitcoins are quite complex  and it has become an appealing market. Excuse me if I am trying to buy in and learn more about them, before they become a "chaser" product. Is that really all that suspicious? Secondly with my Amazon account I provided you with proof you asked for, I have a product that I thought would be in demand, and it is I have gotten replies to that thread. I do not mine selling it as, it is the only way for me to legitimately obtain bitcoins. As for the loans, yes I am looking for them, but read the WHOLE thread:

Any tips please post below as well as advice. Right now I am doing research so this isn't 100% yet, I just want to let people know and get off a tally of how many would potentially be interested in investing. Not looking for investments RIGHT NOW, right now I am researching but please don't hesitate to post and give advice.

I have no issues answering questions but the way you are presenting them make them seem more as accusations rather then inquiries. Like I said, I understand the skepticism but to write off every noob as a scammer is extraordinarily frustrating especially because we all start somewhere. I also have a zero tolerance for bullshit. If you want to be an ass and write shit like, "Well no shit.", things that in no way contribute to anything then I won't stand for it. At least your post was a warning and was aimed to benefit other members but stuff that is just there to be there and cause irritation is unacceptable.

Thanks if you took the time to read this.

Long time trusted members have turned into scammers and run off with large amounts of money. Assuming you are not a scammer, you should be aware of this. TRUST NO ONE!

The forum is reacting correctly IMO. We watch out for each other. I personally have been scammed on this forum. It happens :/

You can't use other people's actions to judge others, that's prejudice. I don't know about you but I am opposed. If that were the case I could go around assuming all of you "trusted" people were scammers but I don't because that's not the way I operate. I know trusted people are capable of scamming I've seen it happen time and time again, I've had it happen to me. If there is anyone that should be cautious it's me. Being a noob makes me a primary target for illegitimate offers and scams. I came in here with an open mind and attitude but so far what I am encountering is not something I like. Everyone has been scammed one way or the other but to write everyone off is simply ridiculous and you will never be able to capitalize that way, there is risk involved in every venture. I learned that a while ago that's why I had no problem going first to you. If I lose out I move on with new knowledge of what to avoid next time, experience gained. You're also not "watching out" it seems like more of a hazing ritual. "New guy let's make him jump through hoops". There needs to be a limit.

I did not call you a scammer. All I said was that you had about 20 red flags on your back...

If you are here in 6 months you will understand why we do this. We are trying to protect new people like you.

I honestly do not think you are a scammer but it is not worth the risk for me even if you send first. Again it is nothing personal and if you do not like being judged in our court you should not be here. It is our community and we will not change cuz you think we are acting unfair. We are being cautious and acting in a prudent way.

Trust no one, be very careful. Anything you do here in business will get all sorts of scammer attacks and trolls. That is just how things are done here. Ignore it an carry on, if not you will never make it.

Thanks

Ok thanks for the tips, mate. I am just waiting for when I will be included in this community. Being called out constantly is stressful.

You will constantly be called out, I have to deal with it daily sometimes from key developers. I was paying over 100% PPS a while back and some ignorant people wanted to burn me as a witch.

Some of the most successful bitcoin business guys get attacked 10 times a day in 5 different threads. That is just how it works right now.

Still trust no one, as no one trusts you:)

Yup, it's absolutely cutthroat, the forums especially. After a while here, if you prove your honesty, you'll get some level of trust from the serious traders, but there will always be doomsayers and skeptics. It's hard, certainly, but I think it's far better than the alternative. Better to err on the side of too much caution than too little.

It's a legitimate question, except that he didn't provide the background for you to understand it. Basically, newdude sold Amazon gift cards and it turned out that he did so with stolen credit cards. He's comparing you to this scammer, although he is really grasping at straws.

I can act as escrow between you and BTC guy, if you want. BTC Guy sends me the BTC, and you ship the goods. Once the items ship, forward me the shipping notice that Amazon sends out. When it arrives, I'll send you the BTC unless BTC Guy sends me convincing evidence that shows that you lied about what was sent.

****SCAMMER ALERT****

I spent a pretty lengthy amount of time on skype trying to get this guy to just show some type of valid proof, so I could feel better about the transaction.

Unfortunately, he sent me a series of very dark pictures of his "ID" that were completely covered in paper and only showed a first name "Afor" and not "Percy" and it was barely legible.
His excuse was "It's only 4PM here, I don't turn on the lights until the evening"
He then sent me a screenshot from a past order (using a giftcard, so the billing info doesn't matter) that showed the same first name "Afor".

Due to Percy/Afor's inability to just fucking show proof he owns the account, I would STRONGLY advise against sending him any form of payment until you have received your goods. I thought I had a decent enough reputation here for him to send first, but apparently not.

I strongly advise you stay away from this guy. It seems like he's hiding something (not just his identity).

I have the skype logs to back all this up, if requested.

Very nice, you haven't heard of an "american name". Afor is my legal name but I go by Percy because my parents believed that living in america it was proper to have an "american name". You're an idiot, the picture I sent you is a picture of a purchase made in Febuary with billing info that matches my ID name. Yes, I covered my ID in paper because you said all you wanted was the name. So who is the scammer? This user is mad because I did not go first to him and get scammed, so now he wants to come here and try to ruin business. Get the hell off the thread.
"His excuse was "It's only 4PM here, I don't turn on the lights until the evening"" He asked why it was dark that was my excuse.
Oh and I don't turn my lights on during the day, it's a waste of energy. Bite me.

[5/31/2012 7:44:58 PM] P: Hello
[5/31/2012 7:46:40 PM] P: Unless you have the BTC ready to go now, I may not be able to help you. As someone has offered to pay half already for me to reserve it
[5/31/2012 7:47:00 PM] lolwut: ok, thats fine, thanks anyway
[5/31/2012 7:48:28 PM] P: You're withdrawing your bid?
[5/31/2012 7:52:06 PM] lolwut:  dont have all the coins right now, so if thats a deal breaker, then give it to the other guy
[5/31/2012 7:52:26 PM] P: Yea sorry it's first come first serve.
[5/31/2012 7:52:34 PM] P: I'll let you know if he falls through.
[5/31/2012 7:52:41 PM] lolwut: ok
[2:35:16 AM] P: Other offer fell through so as of now it's yours.
[11:05:09 AM] lolwut: ok
[11:05:14 AM] lolwut: so how will this work
[11:05:28 AM] lolwut: you buy first? i make sure there are not legal problems, then i pay you?
[2:10:23 PM] P: Legal problems?
[2:10:32 PM] P: I already provided proof the account was mine
[3:34:02 PM] lolwut: Ok, where did you do that?
[3:34:09 PM] lolwut: i must have missed it
[3:34:15 PM] lolwut: can you link me to the post
[3:34:15 PM] P: Check my thread I'll link to the page
[3:35:24 PM] P: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84439.0
[3:35:35 PM] P: No AGC is accepted as exchangeable currency on a wide arrange of forums, you can sell RSGP,PP,AP,WU,MB,WMZ in exchange for Amazon Giftcards.

[3:36:05 PM] P: Chaang: explaining why you had so much of this and why you no longer wanted it. you have now done that in this thread. without doing that, i highly doubt anyone would have traded with you.

there have been a large number of scams with people with new accounts.

when you did not respond to the PM and then made a new thread red flags went up. do not take it personally.
[3:36:10 PM] P: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84439.20
[3:36:42 PM] lolwut: i see that, but that still does not prove you own the account. I'm not trying to be an asshole here, just dont need any trouble from this transaction.
[3:37:10 PM] P: Then I honestly can't help you. If you think the account is stolen you shouldn't be doing this trade in the first place
[3:37:19 PM] P: The account is mine the balance is rightfully owned
[3:37:48 PM] lolwut: I've been doing business on the forum for a while, I have a perfect reputation.
[3:37:55 PM] lolwut: I would like to do the deal because its a great price
[3:38:06 PM] lolwut: Can't blame me for wanting to be safe.
[3:38:27 PM] lolwut: I can send payment once the items are received, I think that is fair.
[3:38:43 PM] P: You're not trusted enough to do that.
[3:39:29 PM] lolwut: Ok. I appreciate you reaching out to me. I wish you the best of luck :)
[3:40:01 PM] lolwut: the only other way i'd consider it is if you can show proof of ownership like an ID or a utility bill with your name on it
[3:40:06 PM] lolwut: nothing from the internet
[3:40:12 PM] P: Ok, if you are not purchasing I am going to go ahead and remove you from my skype/ Just to provide more room for others.
[3:41:10 PM] lolwut: can you produce some form of ID?

How about actually shipping me a copy of Diablo 3. It woulda been ehre already if you had done it yesterday. I'm fairly certain none of the guy slooking to buy the whole amount would mind if you said you sold a whopping 12BTC worth already. ;p

Lets try again. Go ahead and mail my wish wit the quickest shipping possible and you will begin the art of earning trust by getting some trades under your belt. As soon as the thing shows up at my door I will send you the bitcoins.

cheers

Why would I waste my time trying to scam you? You are making yourself look bad, being all cryptic and shit. We aren't talking about 1 or 2 btc here......I can't blame anyone for wanting proof of ownership, especially for something so easily "hackable"

this is what he sent, you be the judge

I can understand your frustration, but those pictures are entirely useless - you need something much more conclusive.

Scammer or not, you have the burden of proof. Surely you understand this.

You can accuse me of trying to steal your Amazon account if you want, but I assure you I have far better things to do with my time.

Angry scammer is mad at his failure.

IMO, it looks like you got it the wrong way around. Seems like you're the angry one.

You have to realize that scammers have come here like newdude who sold tens of thousands of amazon GC over a period of months before it was discovered they were stolen, and then once his scam was discovered you can bet he came back at least once under a different username and repeated the scam. Amazon GC have been a hot product for scammers on the forums. You signed up with a brand new account and want to do thousands of dollars worth of transactions, how do we know you're not newdude moving onto his next username?

If you want to gain trust, the best way is to stick around and do smaller transactions ($5-$20 transactions) for a couple of months and then keep moving up to bigger ones as forum members begin to know and trust you. Giving out loans, or taking out loans and repaying isn't going to make us trust you more.

The main reason you put my scammer meter off the chart last night is because I was just browsing the forum, and kept seeing you want to do thousands of dollars worth of transactions, in loans, in AGC (nice acronym BTW) and what I thought was an enquiry into a mining investment (you made a post that sounded like you wanted to talk business over Skype with that dude, it could've been to get info on mining, but still could be to get investments). AGC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77822.20), loans (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62970.0) and mining investments (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=65989.0) are all big targets for scammers.

Your picture is of Boxxy, a retarded 14 yo internet child. I am not fucking newdude jackass, I don't even know who that is. I am not done with the forum I am done selling to you idiots. Good day. And you look very hot Blazr. I'd tap but you can forget the loan.

The paper/ID is upside down. I can read it without issues, here:

First line: Identification Purposes Only
Second line: NOT a Driver's License

Yeah I can see it now, my main monitors backlight is pretty dim, moved it onto another screen, its still pretty hard to read, but legible.

As mentioned, that could be anyone's ID and may not even be an ID. Could easily be just a printed page.

Boxxy is now 20 years old (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxxy) & she doesn't suffer from any form of retardation. I never said you were newdude, your just a pretty sketchy guy at the moment, if you hang around enough people will get to know you and trust you.

I'm sorry but the ID you provided doesn't cut it at all.

I'm replying to everyone at the moment. Just because I quote you everything I say isn't direct at your quote. I'm just to lazy to quote the others. I'm unconcerned I've pulled this off market. I intend to stay and prove my legitimacy while the others fall off as the scammers they are. Then we will see who laughs last.

I've got plenty of pieces of papers with barcodes on them, heck as you seen it takes 30 seconds to shop an ID, if I spent an hour I could shop an ID properly, print it out and take a low light photo like you did and it would look unbeliveably convincing. I'm not saying you did this, but sorry your poor excuse for an ID doesn't cut it. A better photo would definitely help

Can you quote me the person who accused you of scamming? we all think you are suspicious, nobody thinks you're a scammer yet as there is no proof. Nothing wrong with looking suspicious, almost everyone on the forums gets that at some point

I do not think what he did was prudent, but it wasn't an accusation. The differentiation is important.

If you do not want to provide ID, how do you propose to verify your validity beyond a reasonable doubt? Consider this a criminal court; treat it as such, and you'll do just fine.

That was an alert, he didn't say "You are a scammer", he said "everyone please be careful, this is an alert that this guy may be a scammer, he done this etc etc"

You can send a copy of your ID to theymos, the forum admin, or somebody else here on the forums who is trustworthy, they can tell us if they think its real, and if you scam, they can give a copy of the ID to the victim to help track you down. They're not going to go around giving people a copy of your ID, anyways there is very little identity thiefs can do with an ID alone.

Dear God, people. I happily enjoy a nice dinner for an hour, and you guys start this.

Cut it out. You're scaring away legitimate businesses who are evaluating whether or not to start accepting bitcoin. If you have legitimate evidence, fine, post it. But if you're just going to manufacture fake evidence by telling someone that they can censor something and then call them out for that censorship, that's not cool.

lolwut, I won't make you do it, but please remove that big red "scammer alert" text. You have nothing.

It's exactly what was asked for. Cut it out with this bullshit.

An ID that doesn't show the name on the Amazon account proves absolutely nothing, either way. If you want to ask for evidence, ask for something with that name on it.

Yeah, that's exactly what it was. It's really getting irritating, though, since it seems that they are doing it more to legitimate users and not to the actual scammers. It's only been, like, 50% effective.

I have no problem with people informing people who may not have been around to see other scams what the risks with a certain trade could be. You really cross the line when you start putting out baseless accusations, however.

You should have asked him if he was willing to take escrow. I have more rep than you, and yet I'd still be just fine with using escrow.

Escrow, escrow, escrow. That's the word of the day, folks. Use it. If he's not willing to take escrow, THEN you can pull out your pitchforks.

Probably because of a sudden flood of people with pitch forks.

BTC Guy if you have no business with the user, please go about your own business. If he is a scammer 6 pages of post should be adequate to warn anyone skeptical away from this transaction.

Full disclosure to everyone:  I was about a mouse click a way from executing a deal and the very thing that Blazr mentioned about having LE show up at my door asking how/where/why I had merchandise that was purchased using stolen funds popped in my head.  Liberty did post what looked like to be several pages of an Amazon account's gift card history.  I've done many purchases of Amazon gift card in these forums and through irc.  Some of those transactions I now regret, because in hindsight I took an enormous amount of risk.

So here's what I'm willing to do.  If Liberty still has my wishlist link, I'm willing to do a purchase of two sticks of ram and a system board and processor.  It comes pretty close to $200 or so.  We can set the btc rate and I'll forward them to nanotube in #bitcoin-escrow who can hold the coins until the merchandise shows up and then nanotube will send to Liberty.  I don't think anyone could/would say anything bad about nanotube as he's very polite, responsible, and most importantly, trustworthy.

Liberty, what do you say?  I'm posting this publicly vs a pm as a display for everyone else.  Obviously scams could come later, but at least they know this transaction between you and I is legit.

I'm selling to: likuidxd, because he was the only one willing to hear me out when you were all pointing fingers. Apart from that, I've long since pulled this from the market.

He actually said no to you respectfully in public and in turn you indirectly called him a scammer...

Anyways, if the deal I entered into with Liberty Payout is a valid deal; The advertised amazon balance is spoken for pending a 24-48 hour waiting period. If you agree to this publically, I also request that you send first and I will pay when I receive my goods

I'm willing to use an OMM, but I won't be sending first unless you are staff.
My escrow offer that I offered earlier is still available. I don't charge a fee, and I'm online pretty often.

I agree to this OMM, when likuidxd gets on we can work out the specifics. Thanks for the offer, mate.

Great! I've backed-up the address and subscribed to this thread. I highly doubt that there will be any problems, but if there are, I'll resolve them as fairly as I always have.

I also agree to Maged as our escrow holder, upon the verification agreed upon via PM with Liberty Payout.
