Title: Blackcoin Foundation raising awareness of staking and rewards.
Post by: Gritt-N-Auld on November 22, 2014, 05:03:12 PM
Hello everyone,

The foundation this week has been productive as we can finalising some things and can now focus our efforts on the most important thing to Blackcoin, the community.

For this week, we will be moving foundation funds from one wallet, to another distributing 50 BLK in transaction fees per transaction to raise awareness not only for staking, but how beneficial it is to the Blackcoin economy.

We are always planning new ways to engage the community and to raise awareness for certain Blackcoin aspects that make us special. Let me highlight the reasons why this will not only benefit you, but benefit others and promote more strengthening of the network.

We encourage all Blackcoin users to increase their staking fees to at least 1 BLK to 5 BLK with us so that the staking reward for those helping the network is greater than it is. I know that Bittrex has their fees listed at 0.2 BLK and we are talking to other companies to do the same.

What this allows is for users to earn more Blackcoin per stake reward and it will cost you less than a Bitcoin transaction or more depending on how you feel. Also, it greatly helps distribution and staking interest.

To raise your transaction fees, go to Settings -> Options -> "Pay Transaction Fee"

We have set up a new donation address so those that want to help make this promotion a greater success can donate Blackcoin that will in turn be given back to the stakers through transaction fees. B6qQ9H6KUJ4mbc9JHWHkVFP7ZRRHpjgDwN

Let's make holding and staking Blackcoin MUCH MORE beneficial and impactful! We have been around for a long time and have the best community out there. Let's prove it and bring more people into Blackcoin!

I don't have any idea why anyone would want to close their wallet, I keep mine open 24/7 regardless of the size of the stake. I'm a BlackCoin supporter and it's the least I can do.

How original, another person claiming a legit coin is a scam as usual. If you can prove how I make money by working on Blackcoin, which I don't I would gladly give you my entire stash of Blackcoin.

So I should increase the transaction fee in my wallet?

EDIT: Oops, you said that already.  Yes.

Yes, it helps promote diversification as well as increases rewards for everyone. Win-win.

Seriously? It's obvious you have no clue what you're talking about... or you just like to FUD. In two days BlackCoin will be nine months old, do you know how many other coins have been built on the BlackCoin code base? Do you know how many other coins have come and gone in that time? BlackCoin is a serious crypto for serious people, I guess that leaves you out. Sorry for your loss.

Who won the miner from the multipool?

The base requirements for the giveaway in MH per day was not reached. This was a promotion with blackcoinpool.com which is a separate entity from BLK Foundation and 3rd party developer to Blackcoin.co.

Unlike other coins, the main 'team' doesn't do everything. There is Black Wave Labs, rat4, BlackHalo, BLK Foundation, Legion Developments plus many independant developers who all work on Blackcoin.

The needed level of hash power was not sustained to allow it to be given away.

The Black Coin scam is prominently detailed, and at length, in THE WALL OF SHAME, right here in BTCT.

For those of you still thinking Blackcoin is a scam. Well, I just feel bad for you.

Let me list some scams so that maybe in the future you'll be able to tell the difference:
1. PandaCoin (wolong version)
3. MtGox
4. Mintpal v2
5. Moolah
6. Butterfly Labs

Word is still out on GAW and zenminer.

This effort is meant to incentivize staking. If you can't digest or understand that, please move along and take your negativity elsewhere.

Really? Rat4 is still developer in chief, isn't it? Doge/Eugene/Corleone packed and left?

Pants-boy and Black Hand crumbs picker Soepkip not around any longer?

Who exactly has left? The Black Hand itself? Of course, there's nothing to steal anymore...

I'd appreciate the details of the supposed "clean-up though...

And you still have Zimbeck, right. His "priority" is still BC, right?

I mean, if you have cleaned that cesspool, kudos to you but you will have to offer significant proof before I believe the crap is out.

Meanwhile, I recommend you read my piece in altcoins in which I mention BC, because you shyould know there's still a 75-95% haircut pending... not just in BC but in practically every other altcoin.

I would be waiting for Proof of Clean up, so to speak...

The blackwavelabs is interesting and in many cases accurate. But they refuse to see the real problem in Alts -- no one uses them. None of them. While BTC usage increases ever so slightly but non-stop, no use of any alt coin has happened so far. None whatsoever. Therefore all run strictly on speculation. And there isn't any "stupid money" available and the P&D mafias have already cleaned what was left, so prices will go dramatically down, across the board, as people start to realize there's absolutely no hope for rebound and will try to cut the losses, thus precipitating the ultimate tumble.

Now BC comes with this "increase your staking" scheme. It brings NOTHING, of course. Nothing than anyone promises, be it decentralized exchanges -the latest fad-, be it side blockchains, be it anon, be iot "smart" contracts, they all will come in 12 or more variety of flavors, all pretending to be better that the others. All will mean absolutely nothing because no one, I repeat, no one will ever use them... until IBM, fully centralized, offers them. The rest is just playing a very, very ruthless game with one purpose only, regardless how they choose to disguise it: To take you money.

I think you raise a a few interesting points in your alt coin death post, but much of it makes little sense.  BTC's acceptance and usage has increased dramatically over the last 6 months while the price has tanked.  Over that same time frame /r/bitcoin has gone from saying real world use is BTC's killer app to accusing it of the price decline.  You also overlook the fact that altcoins striving for acceptance have every bit as much use as bitcoin.  I can use blackcoin anywhere I can use BTC through a number of different services, including shapeshift lens.  Hasn't helped the price any.

Now BC comes with this "increase your staking" scheme. It brings NOTHING, of course. Yea, the BC staking idea we are posting about here doesn't seem like a great idea to me.  I suppose its intended as a way to build community and encourage people to stake their coins.  That's fine.  Whatever.  So what.

However, I'm a firm believer that people will begin to use this stuff.  It's just going to take a catalyst to encourage it.  Like the next recession and possible the downfall of the American economy, which in my eyes appears to be only a question of time.  When they do experiment with bitcoin, its only a matter of time before they explore better solutions... and Blackcoin is just one of many better solutions.
