That is strange.. Are you sure that you didnt make a mistake when entering?
2. Did you check if there was a pw reset in the security log of this forum?

Are you sure you are trying with the correct username?

"username does not exist" is quite explanatory...

A search for the username "Thekool1s' results in this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=345771) result. An attempt to login with Thekool1s as the username and ~5 random letters as the password, results in an error message saying that I entered the incorrect password (this is expected).

An attempt to reset the password using the username results in the following message "A mail has been sent to your email address. Click the link in that mail to set a new password." so I would assume that whatever email you had set it to should have received a password reset email.

A search of the security log (http://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php) shows that the password was reset via email twice today (this is likely the result of my test above and one other person's similar test. Other then that the most recent password change was on February 23, which is over a week after you last posted which would imply that your password was not hacked.

If you have both forgotten your email and password (or no longer have access to the email associated with the account, then you can have theymos reset the email address to one of your choice by following the instructions on this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0)

Seems like you might just be making an error given quick's analysis. Make sure you're typing in the correct username for a start but have you checked your browser to see if the password is saved? Have a look in your browsers settings.

Usernames might be case sensitive...

They're not.

I guess in this case when in doubt CTRL C CTRL P
Make sure to not include the blank space when highlighting then try signing in.

This address was on profile link : 1A9H6pMR1V1ZagYvDKDCpSBueRaNvP6BHv and my second address is: 1Ly7eNJd1FPvjtFzgmZYBKoAuDqWov6ZhP I have used only these two address for bitcointalk.

I can sign these. The problem is i am 90% sure that the email i used was thekool1ss@gmail.com and i have not received the reset email. I also received couple of bitmixer payment on the first address too, small ones.

I will contact theymos, I think its the only solution because i have tried all things :D

I just did a quick test, if you send a password reset email and don't click on the link, it doesn't show up on seclog. so most likely the two resets were by the hacker.

Well the seclog shows the password was reset via email at  March 08, 2015, 06:50:34 PM and and March 08, 2015, 07:00:53 PM. The OP was made on  March 08, 2015, 06:36:48 PM, or a good ~25 minutes prior to the first password reset via email.

There is a lot of potential speculation that can be done regarding who or what caused these password resets via email, however I think it is safe to say that whoever changed the password on February 23, 2015, 06:45:54 PM (the most recent prior password change) probably consented to such a password change (either directly or through an [escrow] agent), as almost two weeks had passed since the password had changed and several (three per the post history) posts were made since the password was changed.

Prior to the password being changed on the above date/time was a post in late January, and prior to that was numerous sporadic posts that were (IMO) being made in order to capture activity points every two weeks.

I just sent a pm to theymos, I have signed the address which i was using for receiving bitmixer payments. I have used this address for few transactions here before "marcotheminer" can confirm this address too.

Some payments i received: https://blockchain.info/tx/1fbaaf065fcb5d935fe4a757668f1e6c2e8285068b3b14abc716e234910fb583

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=844776.0

Idk very much about signing messages but I think you need to state today's date, what happened and stuff. I also think it would be better if you can openly state your account name.

Something like "Today is March 9, 2015. My account x was hacked."(Fill in x with your hacked account name.)

I might be wrong since I don't really sign messages and stuff, but I read Quickseller's posts and I believe this way of doing this is correct.

theymos reads all. He give low priority to these things. Wait sometime and send PM once in 3-4 weeks. Hopefully, we can see better feature to solve this in new forum software.

Actually I didnot know the proper template of pm to send to Theymos first time then someone linked me to the post where proper template is giving which required the signing thing. But i had sent a message earlier. Then i sent another pm with address signed and with proper template. Then i sent a third message with some thread links to prove that this address belongs to me. The first message contained no proof So thats why i think he is ignoring my the 2nd messages  :P

theymos is usually busy with other stuff so account retrievals maybe are of least importance to him. IMO, best you can do is keep sending PMs & bumping the thread every once in a while.

Well interestingly it looks like (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1019663.msg11044879#msg11044879) that it just enrolled in a signature campaign. The account has not made any posts since before this thread was opened and it's enrollment post so whoever is in control of it is defiantly trying to keep a low profile.

Unfortunately whoever is using it enrolled with a previously unused BTC address so that alone is not going to link it to other accounts.

The address he is using has not be used in the past so this route is not going to help you find who is using the account. However once he receives payment and spends it, then it is possible that the identity of whoever is using the account will be discovered.

It would be possible to determine who is behind the account in other ways.

I can confirm it is still Thekool1s that controls his Skype. Theymos doesn't seem to be replying. But as much I believe Thekool1s, the account was inactive for a while and all of a sudden you just come back to it. Strange. It may be a possibility you sold the account a while back and are trying to reclaim it. Or you just got hacked plain and simple. I see Marco has given trust saying that the account is hacked. Could Marco share the information that proves the account is hacked?

Strange. It may be a possibility you sold the account a while back and are trying to reclaim it. O

That is of course a possibility and I'm sure it's been tried or done many times before, but also the person who (allegedly) hacked it could have only just sold it recently. Have you PMd the account to see if he responds? The new owner could be completely oblivious to the situation.

Strange. It may be a possibility you sold the account a while back and are trying to reclaim it. O

It is possible. I will PM the real account.

But, the negative trust should be noticed by this time.

Equinoxx if you remember i sent him a pic when we had a deal, I said to him i can send him my latest pic any time he wants or even video chat its me, that's why i asked him to place a negative trust on the account till i get back so that no one can take out loans etc, That is more than enough to prove its hacked, And No I didnot sell the account, If you remember correctly i had exams that's why i was inactive but when i came back the account was gone. Why would sell a golden goose :D,

Can any mod see the ip logs? for login if possible that can help alot.

Only administrators can check IP logs, to my knowledge, not moderators. They tend not to get involved as they are busy so you may have to take that initiative.

Hmmm... maybe you should create a new account (or use the actual one). Read:

I very rarely recover accounts if you can't prove ownership as described above. There are alternative ways of proving ownership, but they take too much time. If I point you to this thread, you can't prove ownership properly, and then I ignore your future PMs, this means that I'm not going to recover your account. Create a new one.

it takes a lot longer then that. He needs to look for evidence if the account was sold verses hacked. The same goes for evidence that you volunteerly gave your password to someone. This would including looking at backups for potentially deleted PMs and at potentially edited/deleted posts.

All an IP log is going to show is that different people are using the account.

What's wrong with the pic? It's a leprechaun. You hate the Irish or mad because you can't have an avatar with your new account until full member status?

A pic like this would understandably draw your ire:

I've seen nothing that proves the account was not sold. I've seen no proof that the account was hacked.

If there is not certainty on that it doesn't matter that you owned the account in the past. Theymos has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he will not act if there is any doubt.
Either conclusively remove the doubt or forget about it.

Also do not expect any admin to provide evidence. They likely have already looked over the account when you first reported it and couldn't find anything to conclusively say the account was hacked.

Read the Post Guys I have proven twice i have signed my btc address twice! The image contains Wink! Thats whats make me mad that hacker is giving me a message. (Thats what i think you won't)

And No I have not sold the account Why would i sell a golden goose! The Account was hacked if the admin see the ip logs they will find that the ip on this account and thekool1s will match! And I have not sold the account the ip log can prove that which only admin have access too.

Signed the btc address twice which is the requirement to sign the btc address i have already done that twice and i can do that unlimited times. Just I need some admin to verify it or least come here to post and prove otherwise.

i have another proof too that account belonged to me. I bought a key from Fakhoury(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=710066.0)

And I have that key which was sent to me via pm on bitcointalkorg. What else do you want :3

Signing already done, I can Verify my self by marcotheminer i have sent him my pic in the past and i can live video chat him! He will verify that its me and then at last i have the key which i should not have, Because it was in my pm's I deleted my pm's long ago And I asked him the key again and he sent me again, I can tell the details of my pm's, I asked haploid23 for adsense exchange on daily basis

This is all the stuff which i should know if i am the owner of the account. And all these person's Can confirm it. And No I did not sell the account

Admins can verify everything and they will find that the account was not sold by me, I went offline for a month or 2 i had my exams but when i came back it was gone.

the email: thekool1ss@gmail.com was removed from the account, You can check that from google cache it is was there but was removed. Admins can only prove its not sold but instead its hacked.

And how can you proof that the account was not sold...?

That is what I said in the beginning of the thread.

It is possible. I will PM the real account.

But, the negative trust should be noticed by this time.

Actually this scenario happened at least once before. They were able to produce a signed message but it was later proven that the account was most likely sold so it became impossible to know if the account was hacked and then sold or if it was the old owner coming back to dishonestly reclaim an account that they previously sold. I'm not sure how the problem was resolved or if it's even resolvable at all but it does go to show that a signed message might not work in all cases.

I am not a computer geek but i think ip can prove that it was not sold. Admin can search pm's of Account sellers in the forum they will find that it was not sold! But its Hacked! I am 100% sure its hacked because The Pic on the account is a simple message! If it was sold it would have a different avatar but that wink is just a giveaway thats a fucking message for me!

Consider this If i hacked your account and removed the recovery email address and posted a pic like that, What will you consider? Did you sold the account ? No You will think same like me!

The account would have gave me like 0.2 Btc? I was in Bitmixer campaign i could have made 0.28 BTC in a week! Why in the world would i sell a golden goose like this for 0.2 BTC, But as i said above the admins can check the accounts of sellers who sell these account they will not find it. If they do they can be hackers of my account.

Technically you can't if you sold it outside the forums. There would be no posts or PMs in regards to it.
This is why it might be an issue. Well I'm sure that the person would react if you made a fake thread about your account being hacked.
This is why we have a 'stake your address' thread; signing a message and using PGP increases the chances of you getting your account back.

To be honest with you... I don't think you will ever get your account back as Theymos usually only does highly known / ranked members and your are just a normal user. Send him a message every few days and hopefully you can get this fixed. I am really sorry bro.

If I was thekool1s I would've have started a new account and waited for the new one to be recovered. Just so you can earn some coin with small signature campaigns. And by the time you become a member your account will be recovered and you can then sell the member account.

He has not replied to me, I asked him too, So If this account was sold it was not sold by me. I Need the help of the current owner of thekool1s, How much did you pay for the account I will get it back because my info is attached on the account. Just come in pm we can talk about this.

First of all the name of the user by which he bought the account will surely help, than Someone else hacked it and sold it. I will send him a pm to thekool1s too see if he cooperates.

And he is still lying! If you do google cache search there was email on the account thekool1ss@gmail.com and if i did sold the account as he is saying why he didn't asked me to change the btc address used in the thread so that i could not prove in the future that the acccount belongs to me. I will try to give him the money he gave to the buyer. I will let you know guys know what happens.

Hahaha lies everywhere :D Deleted pm's XD Admins can now verify within minutes or maybe his memory will start to fade and he won't even remember the account name he used to buy and the name of the seller XD, This one is trapped like hell.

So Which account this guy was using before buying the account? If i get both the username then may be admin can use some ip matching to find out who hacked my account and sold it. He must have made some mistake in hiding.

Lol, you're a Jr. Member now. If theymos didn't even won't to give your account back I highly doubt he will do an IP check.

So now bitcointalk is place where only elite can live ? What about normal users and what exactly is theymos working on? Bitcoin 3.0? that he doesn't have 30 minutes to check some things.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. I doubt it is even a 10 minute job because you have proof of ownership.

Well feeling very sad about your account..
But if you can get me his IP then I can disturb him..and get you negotiate with him..
All I will do to show to show up my skills no commission I want..  :)

Thank you man but i think I will first stick to legit way. If everyone can become happy at the end of day without trouble is the way to go.

I think it is just luck. Some gets their account back in a couple of hours to days, some never get it back at all.. I yet haven't got my account hacked. May be because I don't download anything to my PC? I thought I was being too conservative. Decided that is the best. :)

I think you can PM him again? Provided you hadn't send many already.. esp. not consecutively.

Hope you will get it back soon.
I am sure you had control of the account before. And that guy who send me the PM is lying..

I have Avg, Malwarebytes both installed, This guy(Hacker) knew me and i think its because i shared my passwords with some of my friends who did this. My Pass on the account was similar to my other passwords so i think it was not hard for them to hack it. He Is Lying.... he is in deep trouble.

So i think its official, Theymos has not replied a single time i have given the proofs countless times but i cant get it back, So what i learned make a strong password never tell similar passwords to person you work with you never know their intentions and may just scam you.

I got the below PM recently. Can either theymos or BadBear confirm the account was returned to its rightful owner so I can remove my feedback?

Thank you "QuickSeller" for helping me when my account was hacked, Today Finally theymos gave me the access to the account.

Here is a pic too: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_wVfVIdsis-YWdPR0t5NWhUN1k

I will be sending you the same message from my "Thekool1s" Account too. And you can see my email now on the account that it has been returned to me: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=345771

My Hacking thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=982290.msg11327190#msg11327190

I request that you can now remove the negative trust and thanks for helping me when I needed it :)

wow! so there really is hacking happening here
i really dont see any reason why they have to do that even if the account have high ranking
eventually someone will claim that account is hacked so its just a waste of effort for the hackers
