Whether they should or not is an obvious one to me: Yes. Some sites already offer paying with Bitcoin (eg. www.flirt4free.com). I wish there were more awareness among camgirls about it. MyFreeCams should really up their game and start accepting it.

There's only 100,000 to 250,000 Bitcoin users in the world.  For awhile they were trolling everywhere on the internet, begging people to accept them as a payment option, and later all these businesses took down their BTC payment option as nobody was using it - most people are holding trivial amounts or dust amounts or they are hoarding BTC as an investment.

Big fail was Overstock projecting $12 million in sales (because of hyping and snakesoil salesmen) but only ended up doing $3 million in sales over 12 months - meanwhile professional miners collect around $60 million a month from Bitcoin.  

It's a matter of time tho. The later you take to accept bitcoin the less of a pioneer you will look like later on and more of a dumb stuck up idiot for not wanting to deal with disruptive technology.

I thought that was bitpay's business model. I have yet to use them, but I thought they process the money as soon as the transaction is seen by one node without as little as one confirmation. They take the chance a transaction won't get conformed on your behalf. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Well, I was joking about the 6 confirmations, but it's something to think about if you own a camgirls site. Option 1) is to fund your account credits with BTC (probably needs at least 1 confirmation) and option 2) is paying directly with Bitcoin. The second option would be cool would take some coding to do.

Agreed. Payments are instant. I've never had to worry about not receiving my coins the second after the payment was sent as I've never had any double spends so I don't think this is an issue. Besides, a payment processor would cover against this but I don't think it's necessary.

Even the ones that don't require confirmations for playing would require it once you request a withdrawal which would mitigate the risk of a double spend attempt. I remember someone unsuccessfully attempted to attack PD via this method. It would be suicide for a gambling site to not do so.

The problem isn't bitcoins, it is that camgirls want traffic and no small site can give that, so until they want bitcoins more than dollars, any camsite based on it will always have a hard time competing in this area. And no bigger site will want bitcoins just cause of the shady practices they use.

I can't go into detail but no we don't wait for confirmations. And no it isn't going to a fixed address, because we want to track payments and users that tip. Also most of our models don't really know too much about bitcoins and want to basically take bitcoin from us and convert them using a service.

I am looking in to giving the models more control but again it is kinda hard. Also we don't hold any balances for non-model users so yeah.

It is interesting but again models don't flock to a bitcoin-only webcaming service.

1) I doubt that a site like goseemybits will succeed easily being legally based in california. Performers do notice the onerous id requirements and restrictive contracts, ya know.
2) There may be a very odd exception, but sites like this always take up to 50% commission from what the customer pays for shows. The girl gets the rest. That means there's no way they want the girls to have direct payments in bitcoin. 'Tracking' payments is, I guess, another way to put that. Lol.

1) I am working with legal on a new terms, but for now we haven't had any complaints about it. It will be far from easily, already know that.

2) LMAO I can't talk about this but I am already checking into another avenue that would allow models to keep 100% of their earns and we still earning (not ads). Also I can move this business model to 100% blockchain, but again the girls don't understand bitcoin that well and I don't want them missing out of on coins cause they don't understand the best practices yet. If the models were all bitcoiners I wouldn't be holding their earnings 100%.

I know this thread is a tad old but the biggest hurdle is the traffic. Just last night after broadcasting I found myself on that gambling site (no I didn't spend anything since I'm in the states and also the required deposit is more bitcoin than I presently have. ) The facuets on sites don't give enough so to get to 1BTC you would have to literally spends all day everyday to reach 1 BTC in maybe 100 DAYS that's over 3 months of trying to get 100K in satoshi per day.

The other problem is tipping in bitcoin brings up issues when someone is tipping satoshi that doesn't even amount to 1 penny. Get enough of those sure maybe you'll make a dollar some day but again it's alot of work for too little. There would have to be a minimum tipping amount base that all users could comply with.

Traffic? Problem just last night as I said I decided to take a look at who the real spenders were that were just dropping hundreds of BTC like it was fake money. One guy turned 0.5BTC into over 40BTC 10,700+ in a hour or so. The rest were loosing and someone even lost 40BTC. What I noticed? Most of these high spenders are high school kids maybe a few were over 18-21 but many were using VPNs at under 18. Just a few years back I was talking to a man that didn't even know how to turn on his computer at the age of 60. He's into phone conversations only and cam? Forget it. He's just not interested.

Not really, there are other ways to build out a cam site where money flows to the models directly and still make money (can't give out all my secrets), but my issues with that is a lot of cam girls don't understand bitcoin yet and I hate for them to lose their hard earn bitcoins. I think what is really needed now is something along the lines of a Cam Model directory where members book shows in advance or perhaps something like SM. 1) I don't think you know what you're talking about. Most cam girls are usually just women who are doing it for some extra money. In fact, it's usually very good money. Actually that's a bit incorrect. Cam sites are typically owned by men and their payment processors are the ones that accept the credit cards. Problem is that there are men that aren't on cam sites to just pay for a show and go about their day. Some get angry when their push for personal details isn't given or when they demand to meet the model in person isn't possible and end up trying to reverse the monies they spent for a show they received in full aka chargebacks.
