I firstly transferred 0.04 to an address on Mycelium and found out today that it got transfered to another address after 1 confirm. Secondly someone transferred my Bitcoins from both my wallets on my android phone 2.58187103 gambled them in the past 2 days and lost them all early morning to this address 1EdiKj78wUz6rFSmYQBTx9P165vEW27GiD. Can anyone help ? Thats all my Bitcoin gone in 3 days !

I'm sorry for your loss dude. Basically you won't be able to get your Bitcoin back. Bitcoin transaction is irreversible and someone did stolen your Bitcoin instead of loan from you.

Someone probably has access to your computer and your phone. 

Have you checked your BTC balance in your wallet?

You have to assume that your phone is compromised and can no longer use it for bitcoin storage. Out of curiosity what android OS are you currently running? Is it rooted? and what additional .apk's have you installed? Did you keep any backups of the seed/wallets on other computers or online somewhere?

in coinbase or any wallet like that you don't have control over your bitcoin (money). to put it simple, you have an account which has some btc in it, not the address. the website handles the bitcoin
but in mycelenium you have control over the bitcoin and no third party is involved so what you said does not apply here.

That's bad. Sorry to hear your loss. There's nothing you could do right now to recover back the coins as all transactions are irreversible. What you can do is probably to look forward towards the future and take it as a hard lesson learned not to store your bitcoins on a device that can easily be compromised. Offline cold wallet is still the safest option and if you need to spend, just transfer small amount to phone wallet for your daily use.

Virus on android is still pretty rare and to get infected, you need to have your unknown sources in the settings checked. If you downloaded an anti virus from the play store and scanned your apps frequently, this wouldn't happen. All I can say is, learn from this lesson and wipe your phone completely.

There's little chance you'll be able to get them back unfortunately, I'd recommend not using android wallets in the future.

You cannot trust Android phones. A lot of them have malware or are bound to get it (play store is riddled with them). Huawei phones (with Android) are rumoured to be in direct connection with the Chinese government, should they want to hear what you've got to say.

I will look into this i just got a galaxy alpha nice phone and was thinking of storing some coin on there because needs my finger print to get on so thought it would be safe i am starting to see it probably is not lol although it is new with no downloads so i might risk it with a coin or 2 think all the people that do and we don't hear these horror storys much do we. I would suggest disabling your wifi and also changing your default router password. To prevent this in future... do not hoard big amounts in online wallets... just push small amounts to cold storage. {Paper wallets}

I am interested with what you had to say though where would these rat viruses infect a phone or computer? Downloads just by visiting certain sites? I know they can become invisible but i don't understand why they would attack such a small market it would have to be in some alt coin wallet if i was to guess.

As far as I know, this type of malware is injected through botnets, emails, cracked executables, and more. If you don't use proper protection for your computer it's easy to be infected. Malware comes to phones too, especially android. People download silly apps infecting their phones, if you have a rooted android phone it's even easier for hackers to enter.

Bitcoin basics 101:

1. If you don't have total control over your private keys, then do NOT own any bitcoin.
2. Do not use Windows. It is not safe.
3. Do not use the cloud. Only God and thieves live in the cloud servers.   
4. NEVER download any bitcoin related software that is not open source.
5. Assume that your computer is being watched by a pack of thieves.  Until we get better security tools in a few years, it may well be.

If you plan to hold larger sums of bitcoins, dont use an online wallet, you might never know what scammers lie around there.

So the best method to use is, an offline cold storage with encrypted hard disk, you can never stay safer than that  ;)

Pretty much this. If you have large amounts to store (as in 5 or more BTC) then I'd look into a hardware wallet to save them on, like a Trezor. I haven't heard of a user's coins being stolen on a Trezor before.

I'm not super sure about Trezor yet. The website you need to use it appears to be something of a weak link, not necessarily for security but usability.

I was talking about cold storage on offline PC with encrypted hard-disk.No virus,malware,spyware,keylogger or other BS can access the bitcoin because its not connected to the internet ,and you will use a clean USB stick to transfer the already signed transaction file to the broadcasting PC, so that no virus can access it.

Even if the scam-enforcement breaks into your house without warrant and seizes your PC, they still can't access your bitcoins only if they know the encryption key, which you should hide under a marked tree in your nearest forest.

That should be the best protection i know of...  :)

A Trezor can be used with Electrum as well, so users aren't tied down to MyTrezor anymore. IIRC the latest Electrum update for all OSes includes Trezor functionality.

Well, to be fair, I think a hardware wallet would be cheaper than purchasing a used, older, dedicated machine to just signing transactions offline. But then there's the argument that an offline machine can be re-purposed too so I'll leave that there.

As for the password bit, a more secure method would be to use KeePass with a strong master password, and then generate a very long, random password with KeePass to encrypt your wallet with. Just be sure not to lose either your KeePass database, or your master password.

Well it all depends on the level of security, i guess if you own less than 50 BTC you can go with Trezor or Ledger, however above that you seriously need something more static and "off the grid" of the all-seeing eye of Sauron lol :D

Armory has an option whereas you can split your backup in more than 1 pieces, so you split it in like 4 places, go to a nearby forest, make sure the zone is not used by campers and tourists, and bury the 4 different papers near trees that can be distinguished

If you own 1 billion $ worth of bitcoins then its not good to take chances...

Additionally, it is probably a good idea to spread your btc balance across a few addresses instead of storing them all in one address. If for some reason, that private key was compromised, you wouldn't have all your eggs in one basket. Spreads the risk out at least a little bit. Of course that doesn't matter if they have access to the wallet.

The only few ways for it to be compromised is a weak RNG. If they are all generated the same way, all of them would likely also be compromised thus all of them will get hacked. Also, if you place all the address in the same wallet.dat, they can still be compromised by virus.

This is what i do and i have yet to have any problems across all my addresses luckily or because i keep on to my computer security either way i am yet to have any stolen thankfully.

Like you say it spreads the risk and you shouldn't lose them all plus you should have cold storage for anything over 5btc.

this is a good suggestion. it is exactly what i currently am doing. i have one paper wallet and one offline electrum wallet which hold my btc investments. and i also am using blockchain.info for my in hand wallet which i can use anytime i want and it holds small amount.

After those hacking incidents, you are still holding it in blockchain.info? It is pretty insecure considering how serious they take their security for. Not to mention those frequent downtimes.

Yes. Android phones also have viruses that can be installed via 3rd party APK or a custom closed sourced rom.

i would suggest to store small amount on phone/tablet and other stuff like that, they are more vulnerable than a normal desktop pc, also spend them fast, don't store for too long on those device

and online wallet is a big no no for me, only exchange for trading are an exception, but even then just a small amount

sorry for what you have lost...bitcoins are not comming back now they are irriversible ...anyways I think your private key is stolen in this type of case....how many of your friends or peoples on your surrounding are using bitcoin or did you have stored any paper backup or something on somewhere? if not then your wallet is gonna hacked but from my side hacking a wallet is much tough it is made well secured to not being hacked

Better format your system with necessary back up. Install new OS and a Anti-virus.
Some keystroke detecting malware can hack your passwords and might lead to access to your bitcoin wallets.

Phones should not be considered a secure device or used to keep more then a little spending money. They are just a security risk.  Cold storage is ofcourse best.  But phones are pretty bad to use as a wallet for any sizable amount.

I since formatted my computer and my phone is replaced. Never going to root my phone again after this.

It is sad but rooted/jailbroken are at risk even more then regular phone.  This has to do with them normally not being updated near as often as regular phone OS updates, and also install's from unknown sources adds huge risk.

But your on the right direction.  Keep only spending money on phone.  Never put a address that your using for holding to put on it.
