Title: Help me buy a car, earn double it's value
Post by: dank on August 07, 2012, 10:53:07 PM
Hey fellow lenders, I'm just putting this out there because my cars getting old and I'd rather get one now than later.  Here's the deal, you would buy a used car for about ~17k USD and have it shipped to me.  I would then repay you double the amount of the full car value within a year.  Payments would begin after one month.  I'll pay $500/month for the first three months, then I would pay $1000/month for a few months, $2000/month, etc. until the $34,000 is paid off.  You can keep the title in your name till it's repaid if it gives you more confidence, I don't care, as long as I'm driving it.

I could buy the car myself in a few months time, but I really could not care less if I paid twice the amount to get it a little bit earlier.

This is no bullshit.  If you're interested, we can discuss it more however you'd like.  There are already some members on this forum that know my personal information, I wouldn't mind sharing what may be necessary to get a car.

Thanks to all of you lenders for your support.

So you recent request for more deposits into your "bank" was really to help you get a car?

Also, let me know when you'll pay me the money you owe me.

You can get a decent used car for a couple thousand bucks, dank.  Why be choosy when you can't afford it?

Not jumping on the  Bash Dank So Much trend; just saying that you might have better luck with potential lenders setting your sights a little lower.

No, where did I say that?  This is separate from Dank Bank.

I pay you when you acknowdge that I owe you nothing and you regress the comment of not being a man of my word.  You sure love to twist things around.

Frank, I already have a pretty nice car, just some costly parts are broken and it's just time for change. The point of this is because I want a certain car which will be the next car I get, this would just speed the process up so much faster.

I know it seems a little overly confident, but I know where my future is headed and this car will be a small expense in the long run.  I guess this is replacing the bike loan thread, I'll be buying that myself but this is more important.

If you have to borrow money in order to buy a car, maybe you should aim a little lower. You can buy a brand new Hyundai for significantly less than 17k.

I'm willing to discuss specific details about the car to potential investors.  I don't want a Hyundai, I am asking for a good quality car here, also a fast one.  Which you may think seems a little odd, but when I'm a well known musician I may just buy you one of your own.

I enjoy sharing.

I'm glad you all enjoy reading my posts, but please keep in mind they are of a serious nature, not a gimmick.

Hyundai makes a solid car with a great warranty. I know a lot of great (and well known) musicians that can't afford to buy one, though.

My big sister works for Toyota she can get me some great deals... but I will never buy a new car....... Way to much loss unless you can really afford to pay big $$$ for something great :)

Good luck with your LOAN even if you have bad credit, even in Canada they have those dealers that sell cards with the Timing device.

Needs one of Mike Hearn's smart contracts so the car has a gps tracking  and the ability to remotely disable it if the borrower defaults  :)

I like the Hyundai Genesis coupe but there's better for that money. I believe people will want to pay me money when I'm a musician.

I get what you're saying but I'd rather not provide identity. I'm seeking a multimillion dollar loan, I'm not going to let some small amount of interest alter my chances of getting that.

That's nice, exclude the part where I say I'd have no problem meeting someone to talk about a loan of that size.

Micoin doesn't know what he's talking about. Yes, some of those programs may be panzis, but they are not all. I know this for fact because Dank Bank is not a ponzi.

But are you implying this is some sort of scam?

I'm implying that according to Micon he's out to save all the helpless in the lending thread that would be forever parted from their BTC. I'm not saying your a scam, but I would bet more on people who give you BTC losing them than those that give BTC to his list of "ponzi's". So I'm confused as to why he isn't in this thread "saving" us from certain loss. Perhaps he is sleeping in his "justice cave" right now preparing for another night of saving the BTC race.

I also make money as a bitcoin investor, I'll be able to pay it fine.  I wouldn't get in over my head for a car loan, I'm still hoping for a multi million dollar loan one day.

What state are you in Dank? Would you be willing to take out 300k+ liability insurance on the car?
Not the right one. I don't know what sort of policy that'd involve but it doesn't really sound necessary when the car costs 17k.

I love driving fast. Raced a guy out of the blue yesterday and a cop passed us and turned around, I saw him first while the other guy was still accelerating, I dipped, don't know about him.

No offense, and it is certainly more than i can do, but that wasn't good. I'm glad you believe in yourself Dank, but you need to have some thoughts of failure. Even great musicians don't always make it, due to circumstances or a lack of creativity. This entire thread reeks of Mania.

The insurance isn't for you, it's for me. If I own the car and you kill someone(high or not), the victim's family can sue me. I asking what state so I can check local laws.

Also, have you heard of delayed gratification? It's very sweet.

Even so the 2012 Mustang is an equal match for a stock WRX STi. Zero traction control issues versus a wasted 1st gear on the mustang. Might as well launch in second on the Mustang.

$3-4k in parts and the STi is around ~350awhp and wrecks the Mustang. $3-4k in parts on the Mustang and it's still roughly the same.

Source: 04 STi owner.

Come back when we're talking about a GT500. Brute power makes up for the traction misgivings of the platform.

I'll sell you a '94 Ford Taurus Wagon for $4000 plus delivery. It goes a whopping 85 MPH according to the spedometer! (Hey, when you get up to 67ish, the car starts to vibrate too -- built in massage!)

Conan: <Points to the hood of his '92 Taurus SHO> "I call that the ranch"
Guy: "Why"
Conan: "It's where my 220 horses live"

Subaru Imprezza WRX Sti, 4 cylinder turbo, 300+ HP stock, Will blow the doors off of most V8 mustangs no problem.....

V6 stock mustang is 300+
V8 stock mustang is 400+

Are you retarded?

You are for sure.

2012 Ford Mustang V6 - 305HP
2012 Ford Mustang V8 - 412HP

Right, and every single mustang is a 2012. He's clearly talking about the older ones.

And every single WRX is 2012. LOL.

2003 WRX is 220HP.
2003 V8 is 260HP

He said STI, go look up what most of them have.

STi has been ~250whp since it's launch in 2004.

I don't care about crank horses. Crank horses aren't real horses, we don't drive engine blocks through the corners and straights on a track.

In the end you two are bitching about comparable cars in similar price brackets with vastly different upgrade paths. This is like comparing an equal sized apple and an orange. Fuck it, they are both delicious in different ways. If all you do is keep the cars stock and race them in a straight line or around a track it doesn't matter as they are practically the same.

It only matters which car is which when you spend some time wrenching on the cars and fixing issues the manufacture created in order to satisfy the masses. Back seat? Don't need that. Soft suspension? Get that crap out of here. Quiet, limiting exhaust? Toss that too. Bitch less, enjoy driving more.

Your thoughts are completely wrong, I want money so I can take off with my life.

a) I called you a retard because you completely missed what the guy was saying. He said his "STI can blow the doors off most V8 mustangs. This is completely accurate. A stock STI will blow away any pre 2012 stock V8 mustang. You basically pulled a Dwight and said False.

b) Show your work. I don't know why you would bring up the horsepower numbers of a WRX when we are talking about a WRX STi. All i did was tell you that we were talking about an STi, not a plain WRXs. Again, you tried to pull a Dwight about how there were no U.S. 2003 WRX STis. I never asserted that there were.

I don't own an STI and never have. I have a 2003 BMW 325xi, it's not fast. I'll probably get a Honda next.

I don't even care about mustang v. STi. However, if I had to choose, I would choose an STi over a 2012 stang. As others have said, it has a much easier upgrade path to some serious power, and being AWD, it can actually put that power down. In addition, its suspension is much better. The mustang is probably better with ladies.

I don't care if you think you know more about cars than me, it's not a concern of mine. I'm sorry if I offended you, it was not my intent.

I can confirm this. Ladies are all "what is that big wing for? Why does it have that big hump on the hood? Why does it make so many weird noises? Why is the backseat so uncomfortable? Why is the front seat so uncomfortable? Why isn't it automatic?"

Well, most dudes are the same way.. can't fault the ladies for judging an ugly car  :D The loud pedal is very fun though.

Nope wrong. You may be right about ONE single year - 2004, the only one year when STI blows a stang away. From 2005 Mustang were completely rebuilt. Also I can easily get Cobra's results for 2004, which is V8 (supercharged)

2004 V8 Mustang is about 260HP
2004 STI is about 300HP

2005 V8 Mustang is about 300HP
2005 STI is about 300HP

2011 V8 Mustang is about 400HP
2011 STI is about 300HP

edit:

Pre 2012 comparison, from http://www.zeroto60times.com/

I was going to offer my services as a guitar instructor of 10+ years...but I assumed he was just trolling. Troll level=godlike.
He'll need your services from what I've heard from that audio file. Get him started on the basics first please.

I downloaded it (against my better judgement), opened it in a music player, didnt hear anything, so I turned up my volume and wow, I heard some really good music!

Then I realized it was my internet radio that I had muted.

A) Higher Horsepower does not equal faster. It tends to be that way, but not always. Traction, weight, torque curves, and gear ratios are all part of the 0-60 equation, not just horsepower.

This comparison proves nothing other than your stupidity:

2005 V8 Mustang is about 300HP
2005 STI is about 300HP

B) Yes, I know that there were no U.S. STi's in 2003. I never asserted that there were. I still don't understand why you keep bringing this up or why you think you "got me".

Let me make it clear to you

All 2010 and older stock Mustang GTs will get smoked by an STi of any year. This is a fact. This is his entire point.

Dank, I'm sorry for derailing your thread.

Nope I didn't. I didn't realize there was an engine upgrade to 2011 mustangs. Still, most STIs can do 4.5 0-60s, but that requires a high rev clutch drop, which isn't typically done by auto magazines. I take back what I said, a 2011 GT might keep up with an STI

I'd adjust for USD inflation too if you'd like.

Not sure where you live but in the US the bank holds the title. At least in every car loan I've ever had.

Depends on the state in the US.  I know because I had a car in KY and VA.  In VA the bank keeps the title.  In KY you get the title but it reflects a lien by the holder of the note.   In VA when you pay it off the bank sends you the title and you send it to DMV and they issue a new title.  In KY when you pay it off they send you a letter clearing the lien you take that and the title and get a clear title.

Same difference either way the lendee's interest is protected.

^ That's exactly how they do it in Canada, eh :) You hold the title, The bank or lender has a lien on your title, once paid off title is clear,,

Weird thing in Canada is that you can still sell a car with a lien on the title......... I was going to buy a car, my first car 2002 Cavalier and it still had like $7500 owing on it when I went to put the car in my name... Lady at the License office said it's up to me if I want to take that chance....

Street racing is silly - go to the track - that's what I have to do.

daily driver = old 1998 toyota - 368.7rwkw (494rwhp)
You know what's sillier than street racing? Internet forum racing.  :D

It really doesn't matter, you're the only one taking what I said so personally as to list out your possessions for us.  I never asked for gas money and you don't know what I plan on doing with that money so you have a moot point.

My ego needs no boosting and I come in your threads because IMHO their FUCKING RETARTED.

Sounded a little defensive, I never said your ego needs boosting but its appearant that it is present.

FYI dank, if I was local to you and actually that kind of cash to throw around, I'd take you up (if everything checked out, of course.)

Toys, cars, penis, all things nobody asked anything about. If you didn't have a protruding ego you would have said none of that and ignored or acknowledge me.

It's not that big of a deal.

You're right... It's not a big deal.... I was just joking around,,,, to me most of your threads seem like a place to joke around... I and I bet a lot of others can't take the titles seriously.

I don't understand why you would be willing to take a loan from someone here and pay twice what a car is worth?

You can get a decent loan (around here anyway for a car) around 2% interest. You are willing to pay 100% interest?

Seems to me you are fishing for a hand out or not being serious at all..

It's not that I have faith in you, I however have faith in a car lease program which is very trustworthy if  it's insured properly.

How do you plan to raise the money to repay?

FYI you would also most likely have to pay for max level insurance on the car for the duration of the loan, and pay for secondary driver insurance as well as the lenders insurance (IIRC you would have to do that up here, I'm not sure if you would in the states, someone correct me on that) You would be paying a few more than 500/month I would hazard a guess.

It would largely depend on his driving record and age. A male teenager with no collisions in his record would still be paying $7K a year on a car in this price range and with the insurance lenders want (you better be getting the max on comprehensive, but as a lender the no-fault doesn't really matter to me).

as well as potential GPS inbedded in the car to prevent "extended roadtrips" until the lease is paid, although if the lender has some trust in you this term could be avoided.

If he spent reasonable time in correcting his obvious misgivings and understandings of how to request a loan like this, it's reasonable. The lender gets collateral as the car is still owned by the lender until the payment is sent, its pretty minimal risk in the sense that you at least have collateral that you can get back at any time and is enforceable by law if you're local.

IMO When I decide to get a car I might come here for a loan (If I need one, I probably won't), I think stuff like this is a natural progression of the "mining loans" that have been plaguing this subforum since its creation.

Yeah, people that drive fast cars slow don't make sense to me.  Unless you are low on gas or trying to save mileage at the time, the only reason you wouldn't drive fast is because fear of a ticket or accident, and doubt of your own ability to drive.

It's not the same experience and it's totally irrelevant to the fact I want and would pay this for a new car.

I really don't care if this loan isn't fulfilled, I will have to go with my delayed gratification. But that's no reason not to try if I want it.

When the only people posting, are not lenders or people even considering giving you a loan, it's just a silly thread.  It should be moved to trash, general discussion or similar.  You're even posting off topic.

lol.. you're funny man. I drive right around the speed limit 99% of the time and I have a "fast" car. It isn't that I doubt my own driving ability, it is that I doubt everyone elses driving ability. That doesn't mean I won't take a drive out to a deserted part of Colorado and have some fun. I just don't do it in a city like all the idiots that rev at me while sitting at a stoplight.

Does Patrick have a BPU+ Supra?

Yeah, thinking he's got a Supra as otherwise Toyota doesn't really sell much that is worth tuning. Well, unless you consider the Lexus SC series, which is basically a Supra. Hrm, and maybe a supercharged truck although he said track and not off roading.

That's be an incredible MR2 given how they were powered by ~2 liter I-4s. Wikipedia does mention a conversion kit to convert it to a TRD2000GT with ~490HP. That'd be a bit nuts and I imagine the dyno chart looks like a a damn hockey stick.

It's been pretty rough with the 106* + weather here.

Anyways, to reinstate what I said earlier, if I made a loan request with some average amount of interest, I would still be accused as a potential scammer and wouldn't get it anyways. This is supposed to provide some sort of incentive to invest in me. Don't let my overly giving nature scare you from a real loan opportunity.

I have quite the loan record at these forums, they speak for themself. Yeah, early on, I had a few slip ups making a couple loans late.  Many may remember a 60 BTC loan from nckrazze that due to circumstances in my life, I was unable to pay in time. The loan was supposed to be short and I needed it quickly, hence the high interest. I was simply asking him for a new rate due to my circumstance. Of course, the thread blew up with the dankinspector crew.

At least my last 10 loans have been paid on or before time. I'm a human being with a life, a little shit happened but all we do is learn from our mistakes.  The presumption that I'm a troll or scammer is getting a little old since I'm here to stay.

Btw, senbon, Imma build you a house one day.

I may be wrong, and apologies if I am... but I suspect people are a little weary of lending you money because you seem to ask for money atleast once or twice a week. And every week its something else. A house, a motorbike, a car, a slice of bread etc.

If you never have money for *anything* why should people trust you will be able to pay them back ?

At first i thought you were just joking with all the threads, but now I am not so sure..... I wish you good luck on your travels to (or from) crazy town.

And how do you think VISA makes money?

Anyway, dank, if I had the money, I would grant you the loan only if I'm a lienholder, and you get full coverage insurance and prove that you maintain it on a month to month basis. If we met in real life and we doxxed each other and signed some papers, I would have little to lose. Your credit, despite the hiccups, is better than that of 99% of the people here. And supposing you default, I would send a repo man to your driveway with some car keys per our contract, problem solved.

Hope you get the loan.

Last I checked Visa verifies who you are.. quite thoroughly... Dank has said a few times he is not interested in providing any personal details (which is his right if he doesn't want to).

Nothing wrong with wanting alot of stuff, we all do... but asking every week, and having the same result every week is beyond retarded.
Perhaps its time he tries a new approach....... Like providing some personal information... you know.. like Visa makes you do ;)

And how do you think VISA makes money?

Well borrowing 60 btc is one thing but asking for 3000 BTC is a whole different ball game.......  I would have to have a good handful of 500+ btc loans paid back on time or early prior to me even asking for such a high amount.....

most car dealers will do everything they can to get you in to their car, bad credit no credit,,, most of the time you just need a Down payment of sorts to pay for all the hassle there going to go through to get that car back from you if you don't pay....

Good luck...

Of course. Surely he is not expecting *this* loan to be completed anonymously...

If he's serious about this, he must to be willing to disclose all the necessary information (meaning any information the potential lender requests), in private.

If you can't disclose even your name to someone in private (if you can't meet people), then something is not right.

Anonymity is a privelege that doesn't come without a cost.

Sorry bud.. I am fine.. Hot wife, Amazing son. couple cars, all the toys a dude could want..... my penis size aint half bad either.

But you

Lend me 1-10 million lend me car money, lend me gas money, lend ALLL ThE BILLIONS.....

Who what where?
It really doesn't matter, you're the only one taking what I said so personally as to list out your possessions for us.  I never asked for gas money and you don't know what I plan on doing with that money so you have a moot point.

My ego needs no boosting and I come in your threads because IMHO their FUCKING RETARTED.

excuse my language but c mon dude......
Sounded a little defensive, I never said your ego needs boosting but its appearant that it is present.

FYI dank, if I was local to you and actually that kind of cash to throw around, I'd take you up (if everything checked out, of course.)
I appreciate that you have faith in me, not many people do as of yet, however, that changes of course.

No,they wont ..

Seconded. I'd rather drive a Datsun Bee with a Mazda sports car enginee swapped out. At least that could do wheelies.

Hi, my name is Dank.  And I need a 20,000 BTC loan so I can purchase a UGR Gallardo.  I will pay back 40,000 within the year even though I only mine at 300 mh/s and make $20/hr.  But I just gave Diddy my mix-tape so it's all good.

I get what you're saying but I'd rather not provide identity. I'm seeking a multimillion dollar loan, I'm not going to let some small amount of interest alter my chances of getting that.

Hmm. Lies, habitually over-valuates himself, jumps to a new obsession every week and wants everyone else to pay for it... Atlas, is that you?

Meeting in person without providing them any proof of identity? What's the point of that. Conmen try to sell me things everyday -in person-. It's hard to catch someone without knowing their name and address though.

Also, apologies for the laziness, but did anyone else already mention the ignorance and liability issues of having the title in the lender's name while Dank races it? Guess who's responsibility that car is when he leaves it in the middle of a busy intersection and runs away?

And to your second statement, what?

Does Patrick have a BPU+ Supra?

Yeah, thinking he's got a Supra as otherwise Toyota doesn't really sell much that is worth tuning. Well, unless you consider the Lexus SC series, which is basically a Supra. Hrm, and maybe a supercharged truck although he said track and not off roading.

Sorry to be off topic, but yes, a '98 RZ-S.  It's and auto, my daily driver and occasional track car.  For the 1/4 it would be good for an 11.0 and it's standard stock motor.  I have a couple of youtube vids around, but nothing I'd consider special.

Edit: and the dyno is not "hockey-stick", but nice and progressive.

He's paying the insurance, and a lot of it. If he makes a deal where he isn't, please notify me, for I still have two bridges to sell.

That poor car's sales have been terrible... Get one, and have fun going in to the mechanic every week when something catastrophic fails.

Or get one, and have one of the last mazda rotarys on the market and brag and shit! Do it!

I am a huge fan of the rotary. I wish more manufacturers would offer a rotary model. (Or mazda would offer it in their Miata, at the very least...) I would very much like to find me an RX-7 too, though they're never listed for sale around these parts.

People like them too much.  :-[

That's a shame, around here (NE U.S) they are more common due to the number of tuning shops and knowledgable mechanics that service them. Still rare to see but there are about half a dozen on Ebay that are less than an hour drive away. I can't justify it right now though, still enjoying my 2011 Lancer Ralliart. Not nearly as fast but it does handle a bit better.

I had a stock 89 RX-7 GTUS with about 11k original miles on it until I sold it to a friend a couple years ago.  And a 93 Comp Yellow Mica R1 FD, but I sold that one too.  I love RX-7s, but they're just way too delicate IMHO.

Yea too delicate for a daily driver. I had all kinds of issues when I used my 93 to go 6 miles to work everyday. Not enough time to get the engine warm enough. Yellow Mica or the Montego Blue is what I'd like to get now, though I'm not sure how many blue are left. Last I heard it was only double digits.
