1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The benefits of Gambling on: July 11, 2024, 04:23:47 PM
Most of the topics we read are mostly mentioning about the negative side of gambling but I think we also discuss the positives of it...

1. Socialization
2. Income Generation
3. Employment
4. Support to the Gambling Industry

We've seen a lot of things enough to consider why gambling must exist. Maybe we just correct our views that gambling is bad because this also helps other people. We don't just focus on the bad things like addiction and debts that a person may commit by being an irresponsible gambler but also, must see the benefits it gives to the community and in our personal lives.

The socialization aspects is one factor that I liked about gambling,i.e "Responsible Gambling" particularly. Its very important to learn lessons and Also make mistakes in gambling, even the addiction is hard to combat.
Gambling typically helps you to figure out means, methods and apply mental oriented tactics while playing, you become accustomed with the gaming patterns.Similarly, the power of social interaction and connection is super exciting.

Gambling creates Room for social interaction, social opportunities,e.t.c. Its no doubt that when you find yourself in such environments you'll meet lots of people and you're chanced to share ideas as it also brings people together, and build relationships.

Despite the fact that gambling has the potential to create and render detrimental effects on individuals or society at large, the benefits of social interaction/connection of gambling should'nt be kept aside.I'm initially referring to the positive outcome from responsible gambling respectively.Responsible gambling can bring so many benefits and positive impacts to the individuals and society.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parents on childs savings bank accounts are waste of time if not saving on BTC on: July 05, 2024, 12:59:35 PM
Actually, most parents do invest their money instead of save it in banks.

But, they choose the safe investment that the gain can't hedge against school and medical inflation, usually a country has 4% inflation rate, but the school and medical inflation rate are around 10%-15%.

These parents choose to invest their money in time deposit (5% APY), ETFs (7% APY), gold (8%) or stock (depend on the stock). The thing is, most stock didn't bring a good amount return for long term, moreover these parents mostly choose investment that can't hedge against inflation, that's why the poor stay poor.
Currently, the depreciation of faits currency is relatively inevitable.
Most parents are likely aware of this change and some of them no longer store their money in the bank, but they'll rather invest in bitcoin, real estates, stocks exchanges,e.t.cThe feeling the economy is giving is that we should invest for the future as much as possible, you can save as well too.

Its advisable to invest as more as you save, but let's also normalize to Work with a financial professional with the expertise and experience to keep you on track.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: True wealth comes from income when you sleeping but earning on: July 05, 2024, 12:24:07 PM
The great Warren Buffett said,  “If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.”

He’s mostly right isn’t it. Try to create a passive income if possible.

Most intentionally, great wealth comes from passive income, investing in businesses whether small or big. It's no doubt that you're wealth comes from income you've created beforehand, initially, getting a regular source of income can literally set you off the tracks from financial burdens and stress.
In this age building wealth is relatively easy, and its only easy to those who fully understand how this things work.

While you're earning money, set goals/have a plan and endeavor to meet them up.Save as much as you can, invest with ease and direction.
There's no magic formula asides this procedures,it's simple but people will find it very difficult to develop and practice on improving their tools to wealth Creation.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Committing mistakes helps us to become a responsible gambler. on: July 05, 2024, 10:25:16 AM
Therefore, I would say that we don't have to be afraid of committing mistakes because this also helps us to see things that we need to change and become a responsible gambler.
But people should try as much as possible to avoid mistake. But if mistakes happens, it helps someone to learn and become better in life. Some failure can even be a blessing in disguise. Some people may not become successful if they do not face some mistakes. But just like I have said before, we should still try as mush as possible to avoid mistake. Some gamblers will make mistake and continue to make that mistake again and again which is called gambling addiction. That is bad.
People try their best as much as possible to avoid making mistakes, but it still happens anyways.Making mistakes is not so abominable or unacceptable, its just that too many people make the same mistakes over and over again and make no efforts to retraace thier lost steps or actualize a clear/proper solution to a better life.

Failing sets your mind and actions straight and in order again, gamblers should set clear targets for  themselves so that whenever they experience a fall, they'll find their way out without so much to grumble and lament over.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: July 03, 2024, 12:25:24 AM
What other proverbs or sayings could potentially act as triggers, enticing individuals to initiate or perpetuate their gambling activities?

It's the first time I heard that there's a gambling proverb that acts as a trigger stuff to gamble. Am I understanding it right?

Anyway, I don't think that any of these gambling proverbs are a big deal to most gamblers.

Or might be at some regions where gambling is seen as traditional, these proverbs might playing a big role in terms of influence.

It really doesn't matter,or have any effects.I mean positive effects towards gambling entirely. Is there some luck or success features attached to such proverbs.
These Proverbs could not only refer to gambling alone, but to life in general.Success not only requires spirituality,it Also needs more of hardwork, consistency and quite relatable or purpose driven decision making habits.
However, most gamblers don't consider this theory, and they don't find it applicable to their gambling lifestyles.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: June 21, 2024, 08:53:01 PM
Hi everyone,

Gambling has become very popular in the world , especially after the changes that have occurred over the years with modern technology and the abundance of games, we can now gamble with one push    anywhere and anytime . More money is flowing to sites and casinos in huge quantities, and everyone’s goal is to win more ,As is always known, if there is a loser, there is a winner, and I don't think that the percentage of losers is greater than the winners .

Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?

Well, this is not true for everyone. Some people gain money from gambling, but this is not the norm. Professional gamblers are an exception, not the rule. For the average person, the odds are against them. That's why it's critical to approach gambling with the proper mindset. If you go into it expecting to make money, you'll probably be disappointed. However, if you go into it expecting to have fun, you're more likely to have a good time, regardless of whether you win or lose.

Moreover, something that takes in money and out without been given forewarning should be treated with so much concern and accountability,For the sake that it involves money and people don't have the same understanding about the game.A winner today becomes the loser tomorrow, you see so much uncertainties and predictions gone wrong.
Frankly speaking, gambling is no fun zone, gambling is no child's play,Gambling is not a good option/second option to earning of making money
Even professional gamblers play and still gets dissatisfied with the outcomes and trends...You need all the intelligence, sensitivity and logical approaches in that field..My thoughts though
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing the money in gambling, what is your strategy on: June 21, 2024, 08:16:01 PM
The gambling is the game with both the possibility, but most of us fail to understand the possibility of losing in the gambling. So if the gambler get into the gambling,in the behalf he had agreed to lose the capital on their bad luck. Some new gamblers most feel this way of thinking after the loss in the gambling, but the experienced gamblers will ready to move on,because they know with their knowledge he can make the big money in some day.One if my friends had loss nearly 2000$ in the gambling, because of his loss even his family suffered a lot in financially.Even his family not able to afford to pay their rent for their house for the few months.

I had suggested my friend to quit gambling and I had feel that he totally get addicted to the gambling.Which was the cause for the many high risk to get into the complete loss. But he clarify me,he had loss the money because he had follow the same betting strategy with the changing algorithm of the gambling site. From his experience,I had learned we should not follow the same betting style for the changing algorithm.

Now he had decided to start the gambling again with the loan money to balance the previous loss of 2000$.What is your opinion on this,I had suggested him to go to the regular job to reduce the loan in step by step to reduce the loan burden. But he had word of “We can earn,Where we had loss everything “.Share your opinion on this.
There're indeed strategies and be used in course of gambling, one of which I clearly hear people speak of is taking risks.Taking risks equally differs from taking calculated risks indeed. Some individuals/gamblers finds it difficult to understand that gambling is a game, its earnings are not fixed or certain to completely rely on,and it does renders gamblers with no refund or compensations.Whenever you intend to gamble, you should set your mind/make up your mind for the outcomes;losses or gains.

No matter how strategic you've become as a gambler, you could be laid off at some Certain situations,so its better that you don't spend what you can't afford to lose. There are certain decisions that you could take in you life that will leave you helpless and overthrown...Gambling is not for every soul or individuals.
It's only an uneducated, poorly addicted and deficient in knowledge person that will take a loan just to gamble,I mean those funds can start up something really good and productive overnight, perhaps,I know that taking a loan to gamble is not a smooth road..!
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investment in gambling on: June 20, 2024, 04:14:21 PM
Investing is not gambling. In fact, if we invest carelessly, it is usually called gambling, but not in the true sense but only as a parable. Gambling is a game that involves risking money or something that has value and in reality it is very different from investment, and a ponzi scheme is a fraudulent motive that is usually affiliated with an investment motive, and I do not call it gambling but investment fraud

I never try to deliberately invest in something that will most likely be a scam in the future, but because you are ready for the risk and have good analysis before investing, then this is not a problem. But I like your way of managing risk

That's a very reliable fact, investing can not be gambling and the other way round, the risks from investments and gambling are equally not the same.
Investing is a great way of building and accumulating wealth, meanwhile, gambling has its way of making people benefits from it's games which I clearly don't have a solid understanding.
The problem people have is in their awareness and understanding, gambling and investing should mean different things to different people, the truth is that we still have people that mispractices these financial services.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 12, 2024, 04:27:37 PM
From the title of the topic it's clearly that I'm someone who considers gambling a fun activity but I can't ignore the fact that for some people gambling is quite profitable as well. I'm referring to very lucky ones as that some people because most of the gamblers get inspired after hearing their stories.

I've made some profitable bets especially in sportsbook but I won't consider those much profitable because the bets I have placed were of low value and that's why the earned profit was also low. Most of the profits were with very low odds and that's why I just ignore those profits and enjoy the fun part of gambling.

I must say that I'm not among those lucky ones and haven't yet made huge profits in gambling but I want to know that do we have some of those lucky ones on this forum who have made exponential profits in gambling? If yes then kindly share your gambling story to inspire others.

Gamblers, despite their losses would still want to engage more and more in it,its no doubt's that its a fun activity or its supposed to be a fun activity;and its got the potential to be profitable "Sometimes."That's the more reason it should be treated with understanding and analyzation.

Consecutively, not all gamblers consider gambling as fun.Initially, gambling for fun wouldn't put you into so much risks and losses, together with the intentions and thoughts of fixing the aftermath of such damage.A fun gambler is supposed know that gambling for fun ends for with fun.If Gambling is a game, then not all games should come with losses.
If you want something profitable and productive, then its not gambling.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 10, 2024, 09:10:09 PM
There is a current trend in my country where parents are doing everything financially possible to give their children the best education. Some parents have gone to the extent of selling properties or taking loans to send their children to some of the best schools in and outside the country. I have spoken with some of them, and the reason they give is that this child will get good jobs and take care of them in the future.

I had to bring up this issue because most of them are becoming disappointed and depressed. In my location, children are seen as an investment because they have the responsibility to take care of their parents when they are retired, old, or unemployed. So parents will want to invest high in education because they think it will bring high returns. Many of these students who attended prestigious schools end up becoming unemployed and are still depending on their parents to survive. I also assume that many of them regret going the extra mile to give their children the best. They have lost money and are also in debt but their children are still dependants.

Do you think parents should have a limit on the amount they can invest in their children?

I think it depends on the financial goals and management skills of the parents, not all parents are been intentional these days concerning investing in their children.Every parents would always want the best for thier child/children and most times things don't always go as planned for them, either financially and taking on with other responsibilities.

Saving for your children helps you to prioritize financial goals and develop a disciplined approach towards to savings that'll align with their long term goals in relation to maintaining financial security.
Education of children entails so much responsibilities and educational expenses, like tuition fees,books,extra-curricular activities e.t.c Savings and investing for the child's education leaves you without restrictions and exemptions.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with Shuffle Crypto Casino. Im Worried about Shuffle Casino Staff. on: May 30, 2024, 06:55:31 AM
In fact I was very angry when shuffle refused to re-open my account. But it's Ok it's on the TOS. I talked a lot of shit to staff members, but who hasn't gotten frustrated and angry? Online casino team members should be prepared for this type of behavior. But that's not the reason to leak my information to others users. This is very serious.

Wow wow wait you said your information was leaked and even a picture of you,are you sure about this cause I don't think shuffle casinos will want to expose or leak out users identity or information, cause they prioritized on  keep user's information private and safe from hacks and scammers, so I don't know if your just trying to create a content with this thread cause it's obvious and your thread should have contained pictures or evidence of the information leaked.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: May 30, 2024, 05:22:01 AM
Reading about gambling addiction I don't think it's a new topic, but fitting to be in here, I just want to ask: between casino gambling, in-house gambling, and one-on-one gambling with physical players available on the table, which among these is more likely to turn someone into a gambling addict if the person doesn't have self-control in all his gambling activities?

Gambling is gambling regardless of what type people are into. Becoming addicted to gambling has one denominator and that is to chase those wins. Sports betting, slot games, roulette, card games, physical gambling, and any form of gambling, since these activities can give gamblers decent money in return, that's where it becomes addictive. However, instead of winning, losing always happens and these gamblers don't realize how much they are losing now just to chase that win.

The continuous attempt to chase that win is now the start of becoming addictive to gambling.

Exactly a good one at that, most gamblers are not aware that their continuous habits of spending money, chasing after loss and craving for bigger wins is what results to them becoming addicted gamblers and like you said Gambling is gambling be it of any types but it's the indulgence of it that results in one being addicts it doesn't literally mean land base or any of that as far as you spend an amount unwisely and lose to it and you keep doubling it for wins then your categorized as that.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Autonomous Car Racing on: May 30, 2024, 05:10:23 AM
Wow I really haven't come across a gambling activity set up that is based on an autonomous car racing, but it will be very nice . Some gamblers like to try out new things and as long as casinos make it nice and interesting, gamblers will definitely like to try it out. You will even figure out that over time gamblers will begin to like the game as long as it's interesting and they are able to analyze it.
If you observe different types of gamblers have their likings in different gambling activities. Some of them like games that are more of analysis than luck and sometimes it's because they can easily have an edge of experience over gamblers newer to that particular gambling activity.

I tell you, you've really spoken my mind on a large extent and I want to add that that's how some gamblers feel and I really like analytical skills that enables one think out of the box on what to do.
And I think the rise of this autonomous car racing Will be of Good making it suitable for gamblers to experience another phase of gambling with enthusiasm and so much fun.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 30, 2024, 05:00:26 AM
Gambling thus requires three elements to be present: consideration
(an amount wagered), risk (chance), and a prize.

I noticed that people now don't actually know their main points of them gambling, some people gamble to earn daily and some people just gamble cause they saw their friends won in gambling. That's how they develop their gambling lifestyle and from their they get addicted to it. I've over heard people complaining about them losses, for me I think they don't know the main points of gambling. What do you think about this people losses much? Does it mean they don't know the main points of gambling?

Well I would say main points and main reasons for gambling are somehow interwoven but are to be used on different categories, cause if you're to say the main points of gambling should be something one needs to pen down or jot for easy access and that should be for fun as it is a game but tend if your to say the reason for gambling , people gamble for money like to double their income and all that,to win and loss which is the order of the game.
So I believe I'm making sense with this.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do if you are loged out from your Sportsbet app after wining? on: May 29, 2024, 09:32:14 PM
I don't know if such thread has been created already but there was a news that was trending some weeks ago about a man who won #14million Naira which is equivalent to $10k and was logged out of his sport bet account, he tried severally to access his money but didn't Work out. he sent the Sport betting site a message but didn't get a positive feedback so he had to come out publicly to explain his predicament on air. Below is the link Man logged out of his Sportybet account seeks access to his N14m

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?

This is really sad oo after making such money now the betting sites have log him out that's initially bad,I fell for him tho,it's just like having money in your account and then your been told it's locked it's so painful.
Have not had such experience or encounter before and I don't pray to have it cause it will definitely distabilize my mental health or is it that the sites want to share the huge amounts with the Man.
Sometimes hackers might be the one at it.
17  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 29, 2024, 03:11:16 PM
I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?

On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?

Being addicted means alot,it means loosing on something or winning as well but literally being entitled to a particular thing that pushes you to take some certain decisions and steps just to keep it going.
Being addicted means you're into doing that same thing whether it brings you negative or positive outcomes.so for gamblers to be addicted it means they don't give up the fact that they want to make huge amounts of money with or without the losses generated and they can go extra miles to make sure they keep to track.so loosing money varies.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous? on: May 29, 2024, 03:01:12 PM
Well, I believe that both Greediness and Gambling Addiction make our lives terrible. I was thinking about which one of the two reasons causes more disastrous in our life both in terms of mental health and finances.

It would be the base of experience or just purely an opinion but for me, Greediness is something that would really make us cripple.
"I want to bet more and more in order to win more. I will sell my properties so I can bet huge. " Greediness mindset keeps on the winning side, not satisfaction.

But addiction is a little disastrous, why? Because they can be satisfied with betting a small amount, at least they can gamble.

However, both can possibly happen in our lives when we can't control our gambling habit anymore. I prefer not the two but in this situation, I prefer to be just addicted rather than be greedy

Gamble Responsibly...

I think the both work together cause that's what pushes them to a non-stop Gambling of no wins,Is greediness that birth addiction in a gambler's life and makes him crave for something bigger not knowing it requires Patience and it's what makes it more disastrous..
An addicted gamblers can tend to slow down on his habits provided he has made so much losses but a greedy addicted gamblers will do the reverse.
So for me I think both shouldn't be found in a gambler cause they are more disastrous than anything.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can anti gamblers accept cash from gamblers when they're in dire financial needs on: May 29, 2024, 02:51:52 PM
Even if the money is stolen, they will not care to know the source of money, not to talk of it come from gambling or not. Only what that would be in their mind is that they should get the money and use it for the important thing they need it for. I know life and I know how people behave.

Mmm  well some people's believe can sink deep into them that even in their last state of survival twgey would refuse such help cause they think it's sin and  and an abuse to their believe.i know definitely what I'm saying I had this neighbors that are so confidant in their religious beliefs that anything gambling or alcohol is  a sin to them and you that's involved in it you will be avoided.
So the husband was hospitalized even to a point of debt and she don't have penny on her for them to carry on treatment in her but her brother in-law was offering her money for support she bluntly refused it even afteruch persuasion from people around.all because she knows he gambles and all that.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and Bitcoin prices: the surprising relationship on: May 29, 2024, 05:13:20 AM
Gold is a risk off asset, Bitcoin is a risk on asset but Bitcoin is the far better asset. You will make much more profit in Bitcoin holding over the long term. Bitcoin is gaining increasing adoption & credibility within the traditional financial world so I would not bother investing in Gold because Bitcoin is far better.
Gold has been an assets for so long, but bitcoin speculators have choosed bitcoin more.bitcoin has been used over or more than gold all because bitcoin is better off to handle certain economical recessions and crisis.
They both secure the same similarities, but bitcoin features and benefits relatively seems to outweighs gold in this age ranging from popularity, security, decentralization e.t.c
Bitcoin's strength  has outperformed gold existence, its not just that gold doesn't offer benefits or has limited growth potentials.Gold could be preferred in some cases over bitcoin, and vice versa.
