What would be the best way of going about tweaking the lp_penalty so that I can get bithopper to make the most accurate guess that it can on who solved a block? Does anyone have a method that is semi simple?

yeah, the recent changes in bithopper basically make you a 24/7 miner at deepbit. Which is fine if you want to 24/7 mine at deepbit. Otherwise, though, it's best to just not even bother with deepbit.
About half of all of my shares are going to deepbit right now. What would be awesome is if bithopper could check with pident about once an hour and confirm that solved block was actually from the same pool that bithopper received the LP from, and if not have bithopper auto adjust the penalties a little bit at a time until a certain accuracy is reached. Of course like most ideas I am sure this is easier said than done. Where do we put the lp_penalty value for a pool? Is it in user.cfg or pools.cfg? |

Can anyone hint me on why I am submitting shares to btlc, but not deepbit and polmine (all with mine_deepbit)? that is what a lot of the discussion above is about. C00w is working on new methods to hop unhoppable pools. It works great for some, no so great for others. The debate above is about improving the methods. Obviously this is difficult as these pools were set up to not be hoppable. Most likely you have a worse connection to deepbit than you do for bclc. If you become concerned it is harming your rewards, then just disable the mine_deepbit pools, until the guys get the bugs worked out on the method. Oh. I thought deepbit was working for everyone already. Especially with the IRC. deepbit is working too good for me. Bithopper thinks every block is from deepbit. |

Tried for the last half hour to figure out regex scraping so that I could get bitcoinpool to work by scraping from the website instead of the JSON, but its now obvious to me that I have no idea what I am doing. Anyone got it working from the website stats? Trying to do re_rate or re_rateduration on it.
are you on bleeding edge? the newest one works. Though it operates on a new system than we used to have due to the problems we had with them. I also mine polmine with just mine.. not sure if that is right but it seems to work fine. I am on 1.7.2. I tried mine_deepbit with bitcoinpool and it jumped almost immediately to it even though they are 18 hours into a block. I looked at the pools.cfg and saw it was using the JSON for round shares and pool speed, all of which is currently being faked. The round shares, duration and speed are WAY off in the JSON. That is when I went on the adventure of trying to get BH to regex the stats from the website, which didn't work too well.NVM, found that 1.7.2 isn't the "bleeding edge" and found the fix in the absolute latest. thats weird because I got .839 BTC from bitcoinpool.com in the past 3 days and from yesterday i have another .19 unconfirmed waiting
I know, thats why I want so bad to find a solution to their new pool hopping protection. They just started with it yesterday. By sheer coincidence no one minded at all because yesterday they were extremely lucky and found like 6 blocks so constantly mining on them was actually a benefit and cherrypicker probably would have done it anyway. |

I think the pool hoppers are back.  My payout variance has been too high lately. Also I noticed by scanning their bithopper forum post that they seem to have found a way to hop here and at BTC Guild. I did not spend too much time reading, but seems maybe they are using lp data and irc postings to determine when to hop. I think slush is not effected as they have a different method for paying (as in you have to stay pretty much for the whole block). Don't be silly. Nobody is hopping deepbit. |

please fix the polmine update I was making alot of revenue with it, the bot only sees the polmine stats like 4% of the time if that. considers it "lagging or down" when not really lagging or down
Yea, Polmine and bitcoinpool are both huge losses. They both implemented anti-hopper measures, but both should be able to be circumvented. Polmine doesn't advertise stats any longer, but they do advertise the current round duration, which can be used to know when to hop to the pool, and they do still advertise their hashrate, which can be used to calculate the estimated number of shares to know when to hop off of a pool. Bitcoinpool advertises all of its users shares for the current round on a single page, and all we would need to do is add them up to know the current share count of the round. They aren't going to fix their JSON stats. They are doing this as an anti-hopping measure. Asked about it on their IRC and was told that. |

So,
there are some more questions I have after testing and playing with Cherry:
1. When the "0.43 * diff" Level is reached at all pools, is cherry switching to the Backup Pool?
2. How is cherry switching when the Pools have different payment models!? Such as PROP, PPLNS, SCORE
3. When is Cherry Switching to other Pools!? When they have a lower Submitted Shares Rate, or wenn the reach "0.43 * diff" or when the pool have SCORE when it reaches 0.43 * diff, else when the pool have PROP, when the submitted shares are lower?
3. What is with delayed stats (such as bitcoins.lc!?)

1. Yes 2. PROP and SCORE hop onto a pool when they are at 0*difficulty, ie just found a block. Prop hops OFF of a pool at .43*difficulty and SCORE hops off a pool around .1*difficulty. 3. CP switches to the pool with the fewest shares until it reaches the hop off point, and then it will either go to a backup pool if no other pools are available under .43*difficulty shares. 4. They delay the stats so that we don't know exactly when a round starts. This reduced our payout greatly as we can't hit the fastest blocks and we miss out on the most profitable shares, which are the first ones of a block. |

bcpool has been faking stats all day, I've been watching it. Here is an example (times are in Mountain):

bcpool has been reporting between 1000 and 99000 shares on the round all day, but I've been checking bitcoinpool.com and they have not solved a block all day.

Sounds simple enough but IDK anything about python or coding. |
