No you can not use a S9 to mine Kaspa.  S9 mines SHA-256 algo.

Is there a limit to the number of LHR GPUs that you can put on the same rig before Gminer degrades?  I have 6 gpus 3090, 3080ti, 3080, 2-3060ti, and a 3060. All are LHR minus the 3090 of course.  Every LHR unlocks around 73% except the 3080.  The 3080 only unlocks 58% and continually relocks.  Is this a software issue or GPU issue?  The 3080 in question is a Asus 3080 TUF series.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy old ASICS? on: February 24, 2022, 09:35:47 PM
They are waste of time... except maybe the L3+.  Those can still turn a profit.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GMiner v2.75 Ethash(LHR unlock)/KAWPOW/Equihash/CuckooCycle on: January 21, 2022, 10:25:30 PM
What is the "Major performace increase" with LHR?  I tried 2.75 and my 3060TI maybe increased by 0.2mhs.  Is that really it?

I guess examples on how much performance on lhr gpus was increased would be welcome to justify the increased fee.

Indeed.  Going back to 2.74 until someone shows how to obtain more than 0.2mhs improvement.

Try ssl://172.65.218.238:5555 (which is IP of us1.ethermine.org).

I attempted this.  It was unsuccessful.

Also, I don't believe is has anything to do with changing pools or servers.  The reason I say this is because I took the mining rig to a different location, with a different ISP, Router, ect and it functioned perfectly without the connection being forcibly closed by remote host.

If it worked perfectly at this new location with a new service provider and router then most likely you have problem with your configuration of the router or maybe your ISP has blacklisted that IP of the server. In this case you can either use a VPN,NordVPN being one of the best although it is not free and it should work or you can make a rule in your router and firewall to allow inbound and outbound connections to the IP of the server.

Much appreciated!

Mining Eth using Phx 5.8c, amd drivers 21.10.2, Rx 580s.  Spectrum ISP in USA  Utilizing ssl://us1.ethermine.org:5555

While mining I get the following error:

"Unable to read pool response: An existing connection was forcibly closed by remote host"

So it disconnects from the pool then reconnects 5 seconds later.  Continually repeats this.

I have disabled windows firewall, set up DWORD SchStrongCrytpo prompt in registry, updated security in Java, basically all the suggestions on youtube and reddit for this error.  I continually still get the error message.  Even changed stratum servers from 5555 to 4444.  us1 and eu1.

I have moved the miner to another location with a different internet provider.  Worked perfectly... No error, but had to move the rig back to my house.

So my guess is maybe something with in the firewall of my router is severing the connection.  So my question is how do I remedy that?  The miner is a static Ip address.  Do I need to port forward or port trigger?  Seems like the connection to the server might be a IPv6 address... So don't know if that has something to do with it.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!

Thank you in advance.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero CPU mining on: October 27, 2021, 03:56:04 AM
so i was looking into setting up a CPU only monero miner I was looking at the threadrippers. DO you guys think its profitable to mine monero with a cpu only like that?

Threadripper (depending on Monero value) will make you about $25.00-$30.00 a month.  Thats if you run it 24/7.

Does anyone know the fix for this error:

"unable to read pool response: an exiting connection was foricbly closed by remote host"

internet connection is good, windows 10, miner shows up on ethermine.org
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this even safe? on: September 03, 2021, 12:43:08 AM
I've been mining since 2017.  I've gone on numerous vacations and left all my rigs running.  Never an issue... other than it sometimes stopped running due to power outages.  Zero melt downs, zero fires, zero blown circuits...  A question I do have... If you leave your house/apt for any amount of time (grocery shopping, eating out, socializing, work, visiting friends and family) do you shut your miner down during those hours of leave?  If not, its really no different because the malfunction you are concerned about can happen at any time and if you away for even 10 minutes and it happens you still aren't home to stop the issue.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I find it very hard to make a decision, HELP! on: July 10, 2021, 03:52:27 AM
I think an important factor is the 1660 is 6gb card while the 5500xt is a 4gb card.  So 4gb limits your ability to mine different coins.  If you're only talking about mining etc than understandable.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: July 01, 2021, 02:22:49 AM
So mining with an earlier verson of phxminer.  If I start the miner with the overclocks applied on the 3070s and 3060ti, one of these cards gets nothing but invalid shares.  So i have to shut the miner down, set msi afterburner settings to default, restart the miner and let the DAGS build to 100%, then after this apply the overclockings.  This is a pain in the ass, especially if the miner faults and restarts.

My question is has this been fixed with the newest version of Phxminer?

I have this same problem. But I created some cmd/bat files that work on timers. So when I call up one file it calls up Phoenixminer and also opens another bat file with a timeout command until the DAGs are built then it calls up MSI afterburner to my set profile. But I wish there was a way to call up files when using EZIL so I can cancel the overclocks when it's switching coins.

I had the same exact problem with RX 6800 XT-s,any time the DAG were to be recreated while cards being overclocked it would stop mining or disable one of the cards, usually the card with the error.I fixed this by using the command line argument in start-miner bat file which adds up to 14 DAG-s to come mining without problems. The command is : -eres 2-14(number of Epochs) 14 is the maximum,I set it to 6 or 8 usually. No problems after applying this so far.

Looking again at the reread me file... It appears phx created a command of -mcdag that puts the overclocking to default till after the dag is built.  Will have to give this a try in the bat.file

your ram does have very high cl 18

I have 14,15,16 on my miners.

I use 3000 or 3200

if you crash 💥 when you open ryzen

something is set wrong in the bios.

Do you think a Ram change to CL16 or CL14 is needed?

I am at wits end with this cpu miner.  latest bios for MSI x470 gaming plus max.  i've attempted bios oc via DRAM calculator.  no success. It just crashes when appling adjusted dram timing and I have to reset to basic.  Ryzen Master closes with error anytime I attempt to open and make oc adjustments.  I attempted Clocktuner 2.0.  Immediately I receive messages of "operating system does not see CPPC core tags, CPPC, CBP and Cool and quiet and perferred cores should be enabled.  I've gone into bios and enabled CPPC, can't locate CBP or Cool and quiet mode.  Even subtle OC of CPU and Voltage only lets me achieve 9100Khs on xmrig.   I'm not sure if Windows if not verifiing CPPC or what.  Just know I am at a loss.  Any suggestions would be very appreciated.  New Windows 10 version, latested mobo bios.  This thing should be atleast doing 11000 khs without any OC.  Super puzzled.
