I posted in the thread that I started about the possibility of eliminating the human element. digicoinuser uses opendimes: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5354556.0 I know there was some resistance to it but I would like to keep exploring that idea. If we take ourselves as flawed humans out of the entire loop would that be better? There would probably be a bunch of things to be worked out, but it should probably be considered. Along with the possibility of some kind of standard. Not sure what what it would be / how it would look. =Dave Yes, top of mind for future projects. Current work would be difficult.

QUESTION: Are there any physical coin creators that would be willing to contribute to the process of creating a physical collectible where they would create a portion of the key in a multi-sig coin that would collaborate with other physical coin creators?
Requirement: At least 3 known and trusted physical coin creators would be needed to do a 2-of-3 multi-sig coin. I can see why those who turned me down in 2014-2015 did not want to participate or just never got back to me. I'm also not 100% sure I would want to do such an endeavor as it would depend upon the terms & agreement and the outlined responsibilities of each party Sounds like a lot of work. It does sound like a lot of work. Trust is fragile, think the closest a maker can get to being trustworthy is by doxxing oneself. Doxxed myself to some on this forum (to be findable / accountable to some extent for what I make), but not publicly. But this has risks for the maker; talking about nutjobs, alamjobs or other nutters at your doorstep. If I may ask, how did this affect you? (sorry if this is out of bounds)

Thank you,
Either this, or the customer DIY collectible route (or doing literally everything).
Part of me would like to see this 'as a service'. Which would have logistical and practical issues (shipping, stickers, etc). Am a small fry, but would be nice to focus on (silver)work instead of doing everything.
Clay
The "not doing" everything route assumes you trust all of the other parties. I'm assuming you are speaking as a coin maker? Yes, as a maker. No coins though; handmade (funded / unfunded) silver objects. The trust would be towards the other parties (as a service). Oh okay I see. Personally I would not be in favor of making it a service for other coin makers unless they were directly involved with assisting with the key generation process I was involved in for a multisig coin. There may be a market for this, not something I would likely get involved with personally. Having skin in the game may make people less willing to scam. A scammer would have to convince one of the other two parties to scam with them in order to be successful. The 'service' would consist of two or three parties like you suggested. It's like asking Ballet to make the keys for your coins (believe they do BIP38 with two different entities under the Ballet umbrella).

Really sucks to learn of this… it’s a sad day for all affected, both directly and indirectly - the collectors, the creators... Lucho.
I’m now in my tenth year in this space, and I’m unsure of where to go from here… but it’s a near certainty that I won’t be releasing any more artworks in the future where I’ve generated the keys. It feels like those days are nearing an end.
If anyone wants to fundraise or similar to help make victims whole, I am willing to donate/auction some art to help make this a reality.
With you on this, if I can help out. Situation is bad for collectors, makers and associated artist(s). Clay

Congratulations on this milestone. Indeed; hard work, effort and love (next to the blood, sweat and tears).
If there is an Itokawa left, please reserve one for me. Buy or trade. Looking forward to a road-trip and will pick up personally (+ drink a beer or two).
Thanks for showing the progress on the Itokawa's my friend. Much appreciated.

First time checking the thread after yesterdays chaos. ...I would still love to get my hands on one of these pieces. I wanted to put this comment here to show my interest in a Mood Mask to anybody who reads this. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of this transpires.
My apologies for the chaos. I'll honor my word and will try to get someone else to host a raffle for AP #2 Feedback on my suggestion(s) / approach are welcome. All Mood Mask from the auction seem to have found their new owners, due to the time difference with some of the winners, will have it sorted (and hopefully shipped) tomorrow. I don't have the time to make a list of all people who made a bid, but can do so this weekend and will reach out to a trustworthy host for the auction. If you made a bid, please keep posted. Hope this helps (and works for the people who feel bummed), Clay

Hi community, bidders and watchers. I was bidding at the auction, although i already have a Mood mask.
It's a lovely piece of art to say this at first. The auction has be a bit confusing, cause of the many comments of bidders. The rules were stated pretty clearly. Every bid extends the complete auction for 5 minutes. Surely, there are better formats to auction this (especially with 5 items) but i don't think Clay Cast is greedy here...
Simply take a look to auctions in the past. I simply think he really didn't expect that much interest.
By the way as a hobby handcrafter. These pieces take 100s of hours of work and love to do. Keep this in mind. Gratulations to the winners... All the best and stay healthy
Thank you, means a lot.

Hi, After some thoughts, I can propose the following to try to take away the disappointment created with the bidding format. I cannot give away Mood Masks, those are not mine to give away. I can, however, offer up my own AP. I have to think this through and appreciate feedback from each bidder / winner on how to approach this: - Would it ease the disappointment if I were to ask someone else to hold a raffle for this AP? (OG forum member) - Everyone who made a bid (also winners), gets a raffle ticket (just one ticket, no cost). - Price of 0.01 BTC for the winner, proceedings go to a yet to be determined charity. (or no charity and no cost?) - Shipping is on me, as is the cost for arranging the raffle. - I won't make another silver AP, but will make an extra special (alloy) for myself. Edit: The AP is unfunded I hope this is a good gesture, it's the least I can do, can arrange and feel comfortable with. Again, feedback or suggestions to this solution would be appreciated. Clay

I just cannot imagine that anyone who has ever participated in an auction would think that a bid on one item would extend the time for bidding on other items. Never seen that in my life.
Of course the bidding on one item should only pertain to that item. I don't know the seller/creator, but from an outsider looking in, this just looks like a greedy dishonest move.
Am sorry I made this impression. I just wanted to make these...

can someone here explain to me why I did not win #6 or have i misunderstood the rules this time - actually not... was not my first auction here #2 0.036 #6 0.036
6 - 0.0361
Seller determined that the entire auction should be extended by 5 minutes irrelevant of which number was last bid on. As there were bids that came in for other items besides #6 in those last 5 minutes, it automatically extended the auction on all items. That’s my understanding 'Seller determined that the entire auction should be extended by 5 minutes irrelevant of which number was last bid on. As there were bids that came in for other items besides #6 in those last 5 minutes, it automatically extended the auction on all items. That’s my understanding' This is correct. Again, sorry I chose this format. I did not expect this kind of attention or bidding. I truly did not. Knew the end result of eighteen months hard work is pretty awesome. But this... I was adamant as doing as much of the entire process myself, this is a lesson. Am currently working, so sorry if this is somewhat short response now. Obviously, I cannot change how things went or the sour feeling some of you have. I will think about this and see how I can do a bit about the sour feeling in the future.

I'd like to offer #2 to @TheNovemberMan followed by @thiago007 if that's good by you, Clay (for my .077 bid). If not, I'm trading it for another of your creations that's been offered to me. sweeteye
That's okay with me. Still sticking with #17? If others want to do the same, please do so via PM, then PM me. Thx.

ResultWinning bids: #1 0.08 BTC
2. - 077
#6. - .075
#13 - 0.09BTC
17. 0.076
What now?I will contact the winners a.s.a.p. via PM. Believe all buyers will receive something special, which will fit nicely in their collection. The Format shitshowOkay, I will traverse each post and see what I can do, I am not promising Mood Masks to people who feel dicked, but I feel responsible. Feedback is welcome, I am human and can learn from my mistakes. So, will see if I can make this somewhat better for the people who noted their disappointment (in the future, as a small IOU). What next? The plated series will consist of seven gold plated, seven white rhodium & seven black rhodium plated Satoshi Mood Masks. These will be auctioned, no reservations, no Twitter sale (though the personal contact was great). Best I ask Scarce City... I think we will keep it at two series and some specials, another series would only water down the uniqueness. Thank you, forum guests and members, people who supported this. All I can do as a return on your investment, is try to surpass this creation with another. Clay

FWIW, I never bid on #1, but at one point it was going for 0.1 BTC. Maybe some of the responses got edited ... just want to make sure nobody gets robbed! Thought I saw that, but hey...
