1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to buy btc in Canada?!? on: November 02, 2022, 05:59:45 PM
I heard there are lots of Bitcoin ATM in Canada why not withdraw money instead from the Bank ATMs?
And then buy Bitcoin directly to Bitcoin ATMs(Cash to Bitcoin).

Check the list of cities in Canada below if there is Bitcoin ATM near you.

they charge at least 10% commission +other fees trust me i asked them !...

I need to buy some btc for a family member in Canada using Canadian Bank debit card, I tried most known exchanges binance, crypto.com etc none of them worked as Canadian banks and card issuers block crypto exchanges, any successful experience and reputed exchanges to buy btc with low fees in Canada will be greatly appreciated, I only found those  other sure how legit they are: mybtc.ca

Help appreciated thanks..
Since their is a restrictions of so many of this exchanges to process buying of cryptocurrency over there, i think the best thing to do concerning these, is to use VPN, because it's like cryptocurrency is not supported in such country by using of the direct ip address of the country to operate on exchange like binance.

its not about VPN as i said i need to use my CANADIAN issued debit card to purchase crypto, and most if not all canadian banks block transactions from crypto EXCHANGES !

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading bots on: October 12, 2022, 12:18:30 AM
they claim they buy btc from some exchanges at cheap and sell the BTC to other exchanges at higher rate, its got a certain terminology which i cant remember...
This is known as arbitrage trading, but I can bet my hand if they are doing anything like this.

do u think they are reputable ?
Nope, absolute scam. Don't even bother. There are far better reputable bots you can use, though you need some technical knowledge to make it work according to your trading strategy.

Yeah, I think arbitrage was a thing of the past, maybe if we are still in 2017, I would believed that they can make money out of this system. But it's very different now, exchanges are well aware of this kind of trading and so they are not giving any chance for some to trade this way. Besides, it should be very fast that only bots can do it.

And so I agree that this could be scam, but I will say that the OP should stir away from any bots if he don't know how to even have a knowledge of basic trade.

well after committing to 10 days of staking my 9$ investment, they say i made 18.14 USD in profits, trying to withdraw, they wont allow it, it seems like a scam, glad i have put just 9$

but going through this post:
https://www.softwaretestinghelp.com/best-crypto-arbitrage-bots/

this seems more reputable or reliable not sure what u guys think ?!?

can i trust them with higher amounts and ANY OTHER SIMILAR REPUTBLE SERVICES THAN THIS ??
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to investigate and research new projects ? on: September 25, 2022, 06:21:22 AM
i couldnt agree more with all of ya so thanks for all your comments especially...

To figure out if a new project is worth investing in at an early stage, you need to pay attention to a few things, among which will be the list of investors. If the investors in that project are in tier 1-3 of the investor list, that's a good sign. You can look at the tier list here. Next we look at those venture capital venues where the initial sales of tokens will take place. Watch here. Next, we look tokenomics, if the offer is too large and the price is high for a public sale, then you should not expect any miracles from the project. If the initial sale of tokens occurs exclusively on the project website, then close this site and never open it again, because it is very likely to turn out to be a scam and a pacifier project.

thanks for the detailed stuff !...

the thing that breaks my mind all those youtubers promoting this crap ! am not a rich fool to through my money at the first project that pops out, i was bitten once during the bull run being told by some of those utuber CLOWNS to buy at 60k$, while i bought the majority of my BTC at 7k$ i still did that mistake !

IMO most utubers are complete clowns so i came here to ask !

the two things am currently seriously considering is STAKING with kraken.
https://ibb.co/25ySzR9

briefly researching into some of those coins they seem to have a REAL PURPOSE, except anything with Luna in it coz i dont trust it !...

and TWO: i am truly invested in trying: https://trustswap.com which seems to be the best bet to find good projects and x10 + your investment.

thanks,
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sheesha Finance ? on: September 24, 2022, 06:31:37 AM
Decentralized Finance projects are quite not growing and only a few investors are willing to take risks with them and I see their value is declining due to low market demand. However, making a choice of those Defi projects that are currently working on is still a good option but not sure about the new one.
Well, having viewed the sheesha finance is looks great and promising project but yes, it was more confident if we see this project is working already and see its results.

i have a feeling DeFi projects (which am not sure what they are) will take off once crypto has been regulated !

also since this is bitcoin forums am just wondering how come no one suggested: "trustswap" which i personally came across after researching on my own !  Huh

thanks all,
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to investigate and research new projects ? on: September 24, 2022, 05:54:17 AM
Hello

I am just recently getting into new crypto projects and dont know where to start from whatsoever, i do understand some projects are completely useless while some other projects can be promising, how to investigate on those ?

for example i came across this:
https://azimuth-finance.com/

while going through their website i cant see a lot of information on the usecase for this project, they only say:
$AZM-utility-token supporting Azimuth Finance ecosystem and also simplifying and improving platform operation. Token $AZM is used in Azimuth Finance stimulation model as a reward for online activity.  Huh

guidance appreciated...

I keep checking my classifieds and I am seeing 2 types of listings.

First is someone saying they will buy any and all mining GPUs. Saying why sell 1 by 1 when you can sell everything to them. They mentioned that they won’t pay inflated prices. Most likely buy GPUs at half price and flip on ebay?

Second is someone selling a GPU and every ad it mentions “never mined with”. So you know it was mined with.

Even if it was mined with there is no problem if the card has been taken good care by a good knowledgeable miner.I plan on starting operation soon of my rigs, well not that soon,in 1 January where we will have the 5x energy price removed by then.I even think to build a new rig now because I can buy a used one for 800-1000 EUR for like 200-250 Mhsh rig and I will not care mining at a loss because I know the bull run will come sooner rather than later despite no one expecting it nowadays.

i was thinking the same
the more things are different the more they remain the same

i know this ETH moving to PoS screwed us all
but its pretty much same story every Bear Market where mining becomes unprofitable !...

this is honestly my first mining cycle during a bear market so am freaked out due to my lack of experience.

second i am always told that during a bear market is the BEST time to build rigs

i HOPE you are right and pow is not out of business but really some folks here on the forums make u give up hope !...
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In your opinion, which altcoin do you think is going to be the new king of POW on: September 22, 2022, 07:39:14 PM

Wait a minute ! y would it be tough even in a bull market !? i was planning to save my cards for the next bull run ! r u saying its essentially GAME OVER for all PoW miners with power cost of 0.1$ kwh ?!...
Even if the price is 0.05, then this is also a GAME OVER.
Selling video cards for a good price is very difficult now, so it's better to hold on to them. But if you have already paid off your investment, then you should not worry too much about it. As long as the bear market, the price of graphics cards will be low.

i was asking for the next bull run will it still be non profitable in your opinion ?!>...

am fairly confident where i live absolutely NO ONE will have this miner within 2 KM from where i stay so i guess its no good 2 me.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: In your opinion, which altcoin do you think is going to be the new king of POW on: September 19, 2022, 05:35:39 PM
Honestly I don't see any new POW projects coming out. Its been like this for many years. This isn't 2015 again where everyday you would go to "Annoucements" section and get to instamine a new coin.

Most projects go to an ERC20 token, and those are only presold. Then if the project launches their own chain, its always POS. One reason for this is due to greed. Why give miners money? Also its due to environmental impacts and how much waste POW coins are creating.

Largest POW besides BTC is probably Litecoin or Dogecoin. 2nd place is probably Ethereum Classic. Hashrate peaked at 300 TH/s and now its below 200 TH/s. Maybe if enough miners give up, then it might be profitable again.

well, technically speaking, will there ever be a minable coin for 0.1+ kwh miners during bear market ? or will we be able to mine during a bull run only ?

what about CPU mining ? is anything mineable now adays ?...

Even in a bull market it'll be tough. Maybe if Elon pumps Dogecoin to like $10 a coin then all the Scrypt ASIC owners will be happy. However I don't see that happening.

For CPU mining there is Monero. However you need a good CPU for that.

Like the Ryzen Threadripper 3970x which is $2000 and gives you like $1/day before power. With a regular CPU you will make probably less than a nickel however.

Times are tough...

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash for mining Bitcoin is no longer profitable - any alternatives? on: September 17, 2022, 07:29:51 AM
That's a bummer! I always thought that Bitcoin mining was profitable using both ASIC and GPUs. Now that Ethereum is gone, no idea what coin will replace it's place and how soon.

What is scary is that there are people all over Reddit and Twitter asking the same questions. They over-invested on their rigs because they assumed that they would be making profits for years until their rigs are paid off to be faced with this reality.

We warned them for months about the upcoming merge. We told them how difficulty works, how supply is capped. However everyone was like "Oh, when ETH goes POS I will just mine ETC, profits almost the same".

When will some other coin replace Ethereum? We don't know. Maybe 6 months, maybe 1 year, maybe never. If you like mining you should just switch to an ASIC and mine BTC or LTC if you got a good price on power. GPU for the moment will be difficult.

for someone who cant mine anything anymore due to power cost, he probably wont be making profit either when mining BTC with an ASIC !...

Wow, it's explained the reason of your electricity bill
Your A/C is power hungry, 2600w

But I think you can share more info and we can help you in a better way to reduce your electricity consume

Is it necessary to turn on the A/C?
Most cases you can solve the problem with fans, good airflow and undervolt.

as replied above,

i just wanna find a way to exhaust some of the hot air out of the apartment, simply opening windows doesnt help much !...

Lets try a different way to explain this.

How many rooms do you have?

If you have a few rooms and not one room how easy is it to shut the one sure hot mining room off from the other rooms.

If you can keep the mining room disconnected from the rest of your place let us know.

If the mining room has two windows not on the same wall let us know.

Hello

I felt Obligated for the community sake to keep you guys updated on my situation...

I got someone to check on the AC couple of days ago...

In my RENTAL appartment apparently they had a WEAK AC unit for the living area, as showed in the image posted (but no one suggested anything  Tongue) that unit is having a Cooling Power of just 2800w

There was nothing wrong with the Multi SPlit Unit ACs except the one in my living room was REALLY weak for the living room area ! (can u see where am going ?...)

so my living area measured is 30m2

converting 2800w cooling power to BTU that AC has just under 10,000 BTU >>> https://www.unitconverters.net/power/watt-to-btu-it-hour.htm

https://www.unitconverters.net/power/btu-to-ton.htm
So thats LESS THAN 1 Tons for a 30m2 room with open kitchen ! (excluding storage area, mining heat and bathroom area not taken into consideration !)

My uncle has the same living area he went with 3 Tons AC unit while mine is less than 1 Tons !!

Finally I had to figure out how many tons id really need to simply keep my living area at nice 25c, apparently i need at least 1.5 Tons (excluding mining heat, bathrooms area and storage)
using this caltulator to find out >> https://www.calculator.net/btu-calculator.html

So thats 18,000 BTU

Apparently the appartment owner CHEAPED OUT LIKE FUCK ! by getting a cheap weak inneffective AC to cool a living area which is too big, as a result, the AC could never bring down the living area temp to 25c and as a result that AC COMPRESSOR was pretty much running 24/7 for over 2 months and hence the crazy high electric bill i got !

The repairs guy advised to set the temp on the AC to 28c (no mining) once i did that the AC was able to keep the room temp at 28 (lol) and the compressor went off and started saving power ! but by no means 28c is comfortable !

Even when set to 30c (with mining) the AC Comrpessor kept operating and never switches off because simply its never able to cool down the living area in order to go to power saving !...

Lesson Learned: while its NOT my mistake, and i DID NOT buy those ACs, one should NEVER cheap out on ACs and always get an AC that is AT LEAST able to cool down the AREA intended for while not overwhelming that ACs and saving on your energy cost...

this calculator helps you to choose the correct AC needed for the room size intended: https://www.calculator.net/btu-calculator.html

Only thing am trying to think of right now is: How much is 1000w of mining electricity consumption does it produce in terms of HEAT,

we learn something new everyday !...
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need Urgent help with my electricity consumption !... on: September 14, 2022, 11:52:29 PM
$0.11 USD will be a very expensive electricity bill for you after Ethereum mining ends. There are no new coins, and low profit will probably discourage you from mining. With such conditions, it might be worth considering selling at least one mining farm.
as per nicehash profitability calculator and my real earnings currently its not the case Smiley

if we take a look at well-known DeFi projects like pancakeswap, uniwap, avalanche we see that interest in DeFi has dropped dramatically...

for anyone who wants to invest in a DeFi project now must be prepared with the slow growth of the assets you buy until waiting for the market (DeFi) to return to demand. I have visited the Seesha Finance website and saw that it came from Dubai (you can see it on the last line of the homepage), the potential is still not clear, whoever wants to invest in Sheesa Finance, do it with your own risk.

why are DeFi projects not doing well ? is it due to the bear market ? I personally cant even digest the concept of DeFi tbh and i have argued once that WEB3 doesn't seem to be taking off steadily or fast enough, I guess once legislations are set for the crypto space things will change...

thanks,

can you isolate the miners in 1 room and run fans .

then never let the heat from the miners leave that room and go into the rest of the house.

i wanna do that except am in a 1 bed room apartment + i have a 1x2m store room with big windows, that room used to have one of my rigs a while ago but even with the windows open (not a good idea lots of dust accumulate on the rigs and possibly hazardous) the heat gets build up in that room, i wish i could find some way to EXHAUST the hot air from that room, if i did that YES i could live without an AC during the day...

any DOI method to build an exhaust fan with tubing to exhaust the air outside the windows ? its a rental so i cant drill anything in the windows...

when i go to bed at night i put the miners in the living room (where one of the ACs) but i turn it off to save power, and i kinda downclocked both rigs to prevent mem temps from exceeding 88-90c, is that safe ?

i admit i cant run 2x ACs 24x7 thats a dum idea !...
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need Urgent help with my electricity consumption !... on: August 29, 2022, 10:13:32 PM
It is a multi split ac, it can have two evaporators and one condenser. Therefore it is a powerful ac, yes an ac can consume 2600w for 2-3hp models.

It is also an inverter ac, the more your room heats up the more electricity that ac consumes until it maxes out its cooling capacity.

Maybe that 9kg is the amount of refrigerant needed in that system.

>>> It is also an inverter ac, the more your room heats up the more electricity that ac consumes until it maxes out its cooling capacity.

what do you mean by this ? am having the AC set on Cooling function and set to 16c, Am not setting it on Auto !...
