I noticed there's not as much information regarding staking with the Silk wallet as with some others. For instance, getstakinginfo doesn't return your staking weight, the network staking weight nor an expected time till next stake. Am I right in thinking Silk uses PoS v3 and so coin age isn't a factor?
Yes, no coin age as per the white paper. A. Taking the Coin Age Out of the Equation. The most secure way to perform a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system is by having as many nodes online as possible. The more nodes that are staking, the less possibility for security issues like 51% attacks, and the faster the actual network will perform transactions through these nodes. Thus, taking out the coin age will require all nodes to be online more to get their stake reward. Saving up coin age is no longer a possibility with the new system that calculates the chance of staking as follows: proofhash < coins · target Note that the system above will not change the actual stake reward. Thanks, I thought that was the case. Unfortunately staking doesn't seem to be working in my wallet. The system clock's correct, the coins have been there for well over an hour, I've got plenty of connections to the network, the wallet is unlocked, there's no .conf file so no config options that'd be interfering and getstakinginfo returns true for enabled and staking. But it's not producing blocks. According to the explorer most blocks are being found by a single address, which I guess makes sense if there aren't that many wallets staking. But I don't have that much less SLK in my own wallet and certainly the outputs I'm staking with are larger because they haven't been split yet. It's been a few hours now. Is anyone experiencing anything similar? And any idea what might be causing it? (Ubuntu 16.04 compiled from source) I had my wallet open for 24hours before i received a stake but now they're coming in like hot cakes! Just takes a little time keep it open and you will receive. Splitting your coins using coin control helps a lot

So how is this "little" project running along?
I see some nice developments lets hope for a bigger audience.
Yes it's an exciting time! So much hard work is going into this project. Thank you to all the people involved for your steadfast loyalty and passion. I have no doubt your efforts will be rewarded. And although dates have been a little delayed, and people are getting a little anxious, its because we are excited! Keep doing what you do and it will be all good. The community will wait. We've waited for years. We've "walked through the financial desert" Relax friends, the water is near. We should be taking this opportunity to tell everybody we know about Silk Network! and continue to build the momentum

In ~4 hours Matthew will be pushing updates to Weaver. At that time Weaver will be offline temporarily.
We look forward to hearing your feedback.
My test deposit of 10 showed up as a transaction and in the balance this morning so I sent a much larger amount to see what happens. Good work guys!!! Waiting for the fun to start one the 17th and then the opportunity to buy into DarkSilk. YES thank you team SilkNet!! ready to invest and help the project!

A buddy of mine is experiencing a problem right now. He sent his Silkcoins to Bittrex and as soon as he did the wallet went into maintenance so he just wanted me to ask if they will fix that problem and his coins will be safe and he will still have them on Bittrex? If someone could help me out with that I would really appreciate it and so would he Cheers Does it show his balance in the SC wallet on trex? I moved coins there from polo before they froze the wallet and I can see my balance but can not deposit or withdrawal

I've read the whitepaper. Basically, I see DSLK as a coin that has adopted many features developed for other coins. For potential investors, what sets DSLK/SLK apart? What can your system do that others can't? Is Weaver the main selling point of the project? Is it your market stabilization algorithms? I own plenty of SLK, but I'd like to see, in a few sentences, a good sales pitch from the dev team. I'm not a member of the team but what sets this apart is its the first system to use 2 coins and a marketplace to create a stabilized economy of its own... Currency, asset, marketplace... DRKSLK, SLK, Weaver There is nothing else like it. The biggest thing I see is the stabilization method. The fact that SilkNetwork has come up with a way to stabilize a cryptocurrency is truly revolutionary. A usable currency needs to be stable. Yes, even bitcoin is flawed. Think of it like this, say you loan your friend 1btc and he promises to pay you back in 30 days. What amount does he pay you back? 1btc? What will the price of 1btc be in 30days? You see the problem? We're still tied to fiat. We have to peg btc to the dollar and say ok, 1btc is worth $630 right now so you need to pay me back $630 in 30days. We're forced to peg btc to the dollar (a stable currency) so we know what one loaf of bread will cost in 30days! So what does SilkNet do? They come in with a fresh new idea of a binary coin system that creates a stable and usable currency DSLK by allowing SLK to absorb all the price fluctuations and create an exciting investment opportunity. I personally think SilkNetwork has fixed a major problem with cryptocurrencies. They have developed a way to make a usable, stable form of digital money.

Silk is gone on polo, get those coins to Trex guys.
Yes, Silkcoin gone closing yet another chapter in our history. Now is the time to move our focus towards DarkSilk. Silk is cool and all but DSLK is the new cool kid on the block! A new coin with great features and solid team. Pump it up! Hey... SLK is coole two.... In the OP, they say SLK is for investors, DSLK is for users. Get it get it Yes but SLK is dependent on DSLK. If nobody is using DSLK then SLK has no reason to oscillate. Take XMR for example. DSLK is fundamentally better then XMR so lets say DSLK got the recent exposure as XMR. If that were to happen, and many people were using DSLK as a secure form of payment, then SLK would of been the coin increasing +100% while DSLK price would stay consistent. Point is, the more usage we get out of DSLK the better price SLK will be.

"Ryan Hentz, Sep 1, 18:25 PDT
Hi,
The SILK wallet is already open for deposits. I'm not sure of the date it will become SLK.
Thanks,
Ryan"
The deposit address is labelled "SC", not "SILK". Placeholder.
SC instead of SLK ? its only for the deposit ? and after the swap we are going to see SLK? because SC is for SIAcoin and maybe that going to bring confusion SilkCoin entered the market in 2014 as SilkCoin(SC) after some period the ticker was voted to change to (SILK), this change was not made on every exchange. SilkCoin(SC) is only for deposit yes, after the swap you are going to see Silk(SLK). I just sent a small test deposit from polo to bittrex and all went well. So I guess I just deposit all my SILK into the SC wallet on Bittrex and wait for the swap on the 17th?

yea man its tough nobody selling. Seems that this market is very mature. It will be interesting to watch https://silkexplorer.silknetwork.org when the swap starts see how many wallets are alive

It looks like this thread is going to be more about ppl and not about the coin. And the next thread will be self moderated I think.
I told you before that cryptopia was listing coins nearly for free. Just slightly over 2 $. And the coin would have more legs to stand on. I know some ppl dont like that place and I understand it. Hex is very special. But the coin would have had everything there that it needed. Now it is soon delisted from Polo and no new exhange. The old silk coin would I not buy because there is always problems with ownerships and other problems. And I think it would be hard to keep the price up. Its for gamblers.
I hope DarkSiilk will be released but I see same problems going to happen here that hit SLG . You should get a PR man to work for it.
Im going out from the crypto world because my mother died four days ago and I dont think there will be any time for it . I was here in the begining of bitcoin on another account and Im a little sad that things dont have improved here. Maybe coming back in again.
Good luck
I'm sorry to hear about your mother and wish u the best. Yes, things are difficult and unsure right now but it will be better soon. In regards to this thread, the gossip and personal attacks will soon end. There is a great team and community here, and I have faith that Silk Network will be a breath of fresh air for the crypto world. As the scene evolves, it is imperative to operate as a business to be successful. The investors and community demand it! SilkNet will be a benchmark to all

For all of you freaking about Poloniex, you need to calm down. I called this out weeks ago. Poloniex doesn't give 2 shits... Get over it... Once SLK makes headlines and goes berserk, Poloniex will list SLK... Mark this post, just like you should have marked my last ones...
So what if they delist "SILK"... "SILK" won't exist soon... Time to move on to SLK and DRKSLK!
In hindsight I'm glad it happened this way. Polo wasn't responding to emails about the swap and launch of SLK so the dev team, righteously so, delayed the launch. It would of been even worse if we launched, created all this hype, and then polo delist silk and never add slk. You're absolutely right, Silkcoin won't exist soon anyways, let us leave the past behind. The dev team is now forced to lead us through the transition to Silk and DarkSilk. "The next two weeks are critical" and we will be stronger on the other side. Everything happens for a reason, the reason we wish to be. Let silkcoin die and be reborn. "The science of death is the foundation of the art of dying. We exist along a continuum of lives and death is a door to transition." - The Book of Natural Liberation Through Understanding in the Between

Everyday I look at coinmarketcap and I am still in awe over how many shit coins out there are X-times the market cap of Silkcoin, yet have no features and nothing but chatter.....
Can't wait til SLK and DRKSLK hit and create an uber whirlwind and rip the crypto scene apart. Time for a change and that change is near!
+1 my thoughts exactly! Market cap for SLK and DRKSLK will easily be 1.5mil

I´m kind of missing the countdown here
I'm start hope you and your cousin Trak can just drop this project and start crying somewhere else but not here! I´m afraid you have to go to the church for that. And when you there maybe you can start hoping they gonna keep word. At this point you will need it. And you have to read instead of cry every single time. I hope you some day will be married you with Trak. Shut the mouth from now and waiting for Poloniex instead. With this kind of talk you really doing the community a favor. Maybe you should try and grow up. Silkcoin just has MultiSig UI to go Currently testing PoS and making sure all is good. SO CLOSE i can taste it. Any word from polo?
