1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is Interesting on: June 19, 2024, 08:39:42 PM
I haven’t been a fan of digital currency because I was ignorant.
When the economy was better than the way it is now I was
Okay with my financial state.
I never knew things would get these worse. If I had the understanding
Of bitcoin when I was financially alright, by now I would have gotten a
Strong Financial support investing bitcoin. The inflation motivated me to
Make a research on how I could invest my income to gain financial stability
In the future an I realized I can only get it if investing in bitcoin.
The inflation is getting more serious everyday an theirs know sign it will
Get better. It is better for me to secure my future than doing nothing now .
I know if I could invest in bitcoin no matter how small it is , it would make a difference for me in the future.

This is interesting but I hope you know that Bitcoin growth isn't steady and doesn't have a define rate, just because it performed better from 2020 to now, there is not assurance that it will do the same in the next 4 years because it's getting expensive everyday and more difficult is becoming to make a new all time high discovery. If you now made your assumption with that facts and later it didn't goes as you expected, you will feel cheated.

However, the best way to about this is understanding the right time to invest in Bitcoin and holding for long time. The person who bought Bitcoin when the market is hard and red will make more money than someone that bought  Bitcoin in bull run and the duration also determines how much you will make in every bull run cycle. A person that probably buy Bitcoin at all time high and in the bull season might be the one to suffer inflation more if care is not taken. So, invest wisely.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best crypto day trading platform on: June 19, 2024, 07:56:51 PM
What is the best crypto trading platform?

Crypto trading platforms are subjective, there are somethings you see in one that you may not see in another one but then again, it depend on the type of exchange you want to trade. Decentralized exchanges are one of the best place you can trade without revealing your identity but bear in mind that they don't operate by book order like the way spot trading are done but it work base on liquidity pool and the higher the pool the better experience you will get in trading.

Centralized exchanges offer futures and spot trading and other types of derivative trading your can do and they usually have the largest liquidity because the centralized exchanges tend to attract more customers and this gives them high liquidity than the decentralized exchanges but that's what most traders use, like the Binance and Bybit but Bybit future trading is faster in user in face than Binance.

So what you are looking for will tell you where you want and how you want it because all exchanges can't be the same.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Persevering Through Crypto Trading Losses on: June 19, 2024, 07:48:33 PM
Should quitting be an option as a crypto trader with years of experience who just encountered a massive loss because of a few shady characters? Anyone who has been trading long enough would agree that it changes your relationship with money. Trading helps you learn a lot about yourself, your emotions, and your patterns. If you have experienced trading loss in whatever form, do not be discouraged. Rather use it as a motivation to strengthen your resilience  by adapting to a new approach. You already know how it is with the crypto markets, one has to be persistent and allow our hard-earned experience guide us toward future success. I just thought to write this little piece for anyone out there who is going through a difficult time in crypto trading.

If you are in the crypto space during the 2020 general collapse of the stock exchanges and cryptocurrency markets, you will see that a lot of prominent traders made a loss of their 5-10 years portfolio but some of them were smart, didn't sold but due to the corona spread and fear among people, some of them sold, I know about a YouTube that is smart and has been in this game of trading all his life but loss everything in a day, tragic loss in trading can happen to anyone.

The quiting part now depend on what really happen. If you are trader and what I just narrated above happened to you, why do you need to quit when all your life has been trading and nothing else. Taking some break wouldn't be bad but quiting is means you are a loser and you don't really rate your trading experience else I don't think there is a need to quit your source of income no matter the losses you encounter in the same businesses you have made more than your losses.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: True wealth comes from income when you sleeping but earning on: June 18, 2024, 08:59:42 PM
Money in your wallet don't bring more money so you spend it and it's gone.
So If you try to look for good Investment opportunities early like was doge or shiba even with 2$ wich is nothing to risk you do right thing.
3 golden ways are:staking, Investing and DCA.
If you keep those things going on then it's impossible that you don't earn money when you sleeping.
For staking i have different wallets and on exchangers and different coins
No matter how little you earn by doing nothing but if you can earn it you make more money from money.
My number one thing now is crypto staking on many different exchangers and self custody wallets stablecoins and altcoins.

What do you mean money on wallet doesn't brings money? Your explanation is wrong about that. People that bought Bitcoin back in 2019 that has never touch there Bitcoin are sleeping since then and have not sold and there value is increasing everyday and not like their money has been domant. If you mean fiat money, then you are very correct about your theory but your explanation is centered on crypto.

You are assuming that people bought Doge and shib for $2 would have made some money but you, did you buy at when they were low? This coins were meme for crying out loud until a billionaire played with the market because he knew the SEC wouldn't do anything to him since they are meme coins and it had one of the insane liquidity even serious projects never had and you are using that as a motivational approach for investment, you need to analyze again.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: June 18, 2024, 08:49:14 PM
I'll choose to get an investor because I don't yet have experience running a profitable business with positive cash flow. By finding an investor, I must prepare a pitch deck, which forces me to continuously improve and verify my ideas. I also learn how to convince investors. This is a very good experience. So, besides getting a cash injection , I can learn more about the potential of my ideas because I need to convince investors by answering their concerns.

I have not seen where loan is giving in a favorable condition, but if you are getting a loan from someone who is God fearing with interest rate and conditions looks cool, you will enjoy loan as well but as I said, the loan interest rate and other conditions has to be favorable. Have you look at it in a way that you have a place you will have interest rate less than 10% with long term payback, you will run that business with rest of mind and wouldn't mind the zigzag movement that may come later, your aim is to succeed.

Don't forget that investors are mean people, they might agree to give you money but it comes with a cost, they may ask you to give them some of the business equity before they can loan you money whether a cash flow or fixed cash. You will be the one to run the business and you must succeed but after everything, they take their own percentage at the end of the day. Nothing is easy when it comes to running a business buddy.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Bitcoin look like in the future? on: June 18, 2024, 08:42:34 PM
What is the future of Bitcoin?

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  Grin

To make my answer short, I don't know. When you don't know the next move of Bitcoin, it makes it more fun but if I'm to make a predictive call with what has happened in the past, Bitcoin will grow with new price discovery exceeding the previous all time high, technically it will gain more adoption like the way ETFs are pushing to own Bitcoin directly and indirectly and it will become even more scarce as Bitcoin halving will make the remaining supply more shrink.

I'm not sure about freedom because not everyone will be free, not everyone will ever accept that Bitcoin is useful, they don't care if it goes up or down, there believe remain the same and this is why Bitcoin will not be used by everyone.

Tight regulations will ensue later because it's seems that's what the government are trying to do as institutional investors are now seeing it as the next big investments to their portfolios but can't be controlled because regulation is subjective to countries, not all countries will want to regulate nor adopt.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 18, 2024, 08:34:25 PM
Some people might not withdraw their assets from exchanges because of the fees but that shouldn't be a problem if the person isn't using those funds daily. If you have extra funds in your exchange wallet, and you are not using them for trading or staking purposes, then it is better to simply withdraw them and keep them in a non-custodial wallet.

Will you prefer to lose the entire portfolio to exchange than to lose some cent-few dollars to some random group of people you know nothing about? I understand how some people think, they don't really understand how Bitcoin actually works under the hood, they just hear about it and want to hold it but know noting about how it operate, this is why scams looks easy to pass through them as they don't even know how to smell some dangers and what's is wrong from what is right.

Quote
A few months ago, I heard or read somewhere over the internet that some institutional investors keep their funds in the exchange where they buy them, I think the reason was that they believe exchanges are safer than wallets but that isn't true in all cases because exchanges have higher odds of getting attacked by hackers so there can be negative consequences of doing that.

Only a lazy person that is used to how the banking system works will believe an exchange is a safe haven to keep coins, some people don't even know that doing this is selling privacy plus security. Only if it's mandatory for people to learn how Bitcoin works before they are allowed to buy them but the marketing push of centralized exchanges precede any knowledge been push for new people that are new to crypto.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 17, 2024, 05:17:58 PM
Everyone is optimistic at the prospect that Arsenal third time surge will win them the tittle against the dominant Manchester city and Pep. I would say they can actually do it, considering that Liverpool were third time lucky too before winning it I would say it is possible. The first thing Arsenal needs to do aside having a great transfer window by strengthening their squad they should take every game as the last from the beginning of the season.

Arsenal knows where their problem lies this season, it was obvious the missing opportunities they wasted, only if they can go a season with a single loss will help them tackle Pep ways of monopolizing the Premier League every season. However, I don't know why Arteta is keen on selling Nketiah, isn't like they are having too much forward, even by their appearance and goals they made only Nelson had few goals and that's was because they had little appearance unlike others that had more, more appearances more goals. If Saka, Jesus and Martineli suffer from injury, they will have their self to be blame.

Quote
Arteta last season lacked the balls to me to make changes that were necessary; like having to drop Saka on the bench when the lad was struggling with fitness as fatigue set in and also tweaking his midfield options sometimes to make the best out of Odegaard who sometimes looked lost in games. A more decisive tactics will and a huge squad depth will definitely help them in the upcoming season

That's exactly the problem and now he has put the players he is supposed to use as support  on open offer, which means any potential buyer can bring thier offer, who does that when you want to win the Premier League. As much as he is trying to bring in new boys, a more change is needed for the goalkeeper but I hope speculations of Onana to Arsenal better be false else that's the beginning of their fall from the top they have manage to get in the last two season.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: June 17, 2024, 05:05:21 PM
Mbappe has joined the right team, because he himself is seen to have brilliant talent and with a club that is performing well, of course he must be able to showcase his talent to be the best here. Mbappe is very lucky to be able to join Real Madrid because he can achieve what he has not yet achieved. With him at Real Madrid, it is unlikely that he will not perform well, of course he will show his best so he can strengthen Real Madrid and raise his name at Real Madrid.

I can't say the same, he joined one of th biggest club in Europe due to high pressure and disappointment from his previous club. If indeed PSG was giving him that preferential treatment he was signed to have were all there, do you really think Perez will be able to convince him seeing how valuable he has been and as a highest goal scorer for the club, there is no doubt that PSG will suffer for another few years before they have a replacement for Mbape, that is if they ever get one for that replacement.

Quote
I doubt that Mbappe will not perform well enough to make Real Madrid fail to win the title, I think Real Madrid can still perform well even without Mbappe. and with the arrival of Mbappe, I think they will be more aggressive in their game, to be able to dominate La Liga. Apart from that, Barcelona is not doing well, I don't think they will be able to compete with Real Madrid well unless they can solve the problems that are happening to them and fix everything, then they can compete well in La Liga, especially as Real Madrid's rivals again.

It's early for the hype, he is good and a top notch player but he is yet to score a single goal in the EURO group stage. It's a different tournament but I have not been impressed with how they played their first match, Canada that even simple teams are passing ball true their nets like a friendly match but France couldn't net a single goal with all that squad. I hope any where they gave him in the club turn out well but sometimes I get skeptical about his place in the Real Madrid team.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 17, 2024, 04:55:37 PM
This is a guy who knows what he is capable of and what he is not. He is definitely the best footballer in the world, no offense to Cristiano Ronaldo by the way. If we say that Lionel Messi will always be able to perform as he did before it is going to be a lie. And I do not even believe that he is actually very motivated as well. Because he simply has won everything there is.

We can just look at Cristiano Ronaldo. Even though he is still very motivated to win the World Cup with Portugal and he is really trying hard to perform well, we can very easily see that he is no longer the player that he once was. Yes, he has scored the most number of goals in the Saudi pro league but when we actually see the matches, we actually see him missing chances and failing to dribble which he never would have done in his prime. So age is definitely a reality and Lionel Messi knows that very well.

Typical words of Ronaldo fans, it's obvious you love Ronaldo very well and that's fine but don't use it to slam Messi like Ronaldo is better.
There is a natural born player and there is physically motivated player, Messi is one born with his talent and all he did, he didn't have to prove to anyone he is doing it, he is doing it because he thinks it's the best thing for him and his club, can't you see many goals Messi has refused to scored and always ended as assist? If Messi is that hungry for goals and numbers, you really think Ronaldo will come close, just compare the assists and do the math's again.

Another thing is Messi is never in any competition with anyone, he doesn't have to seek for anyone opinion when to retire, if he thinks he has achieved enough, then so be it. There are many players that didn't even reach his age and they retire early, it's because of this baseless comparison he never went to Saudi Arabia.

Just to be clear Witt you, Messi has completed football with all the trophies needed, tell Ronaldo to take Portugal to World cup by 2026.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: June 17, 2024, 04:46:58 PM
One trend that gamblers always work on is luck. If there is luck then we can succeed in whatever strategy we apply and if luck does not favor us then no matter how hard we try we will not be able to turn it back. But we cannot ignore strategy completely. Strategy puts a gambler ahead of winning but cannot guarantee winning. If a gambler is an experienced person then I would say that he will be successful in gambling as well as using different strategies. Although every gambler believes that luck is an important factor in gambling.

Luck in gambling is when you try all the available options and that particular one you did really won for you, there are many other options that you can try as well and win but that works better for you and you are lucky champ for that and all this happens because we don't really know what will be the outcome, we just try the closest possibility as possible and if it goes as we expected, our predicted is justify and if it doesn't, then you are not lucky for that day.

However, luck doesn't excel well without the combination of skills, the people that won in gambling most of the time are people that are very skillful in that possibility options, they are very knowledgeable with what they can do to get the possibility as possible and the ones to avoid and this is subjective to sport gambling. Casino gambling luck depend on how the house want you to have luck, your luck is determined by how the house is hedge.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: June 16, 2024, 09:56:53 PM
No matter how much people shy away from this, I think the major and paramount reason for any gambler to wager money is to make profit,  and irrespective of what you think your intentions are, the moment you wager any amount of money, there is always the expectations of having a profitable return.
I don’t think people loss more in gambling because they don’t know their sim, but Simply because they don’t want to accept the fact that, they’re gambling to make a win and not just to entertain anyone.

Money is the motivation of gambling but there is something entertaining about gambling that you wouldn't have anywhere, that is if you do it in a manner you didn't gamble more than you can actually afford to lose, have you thought about that feeling when your predictions goes well. However, What are you going to feel when you lose a dollar or 2, probably nothing but you will feel something when you bet with $100 or more especially if when you lose.

Some of the time you see people gambling to make more money is their financial status, life isn't fair you know and there is no better alternatives out there, so people hope on gambling to make money and some people are really making some one time jackpot from it but the number is few compare to the total number of people that are winning. If at all everyone is winning, I'm not sure there will be a single casino that will be functioning.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 16, 2024, 09:39:20 PM
I am beginning to think that the only time a gambler gambles for fun is only when he gambles with what he can afford to lose. In this case, a gambler has $10,000 as his savings, and he gambles with $1000 down, he or she won't feel sad when they lose it (it means they gambled for fun). But if a gambler who has the same $10,000 gambles for above $5,000, and he loses all of them, the gambler won't be happy about his actions, and it might result in chasing of losses (which means he didn't gamble for fun). It means that both those that say they aren't gambling for fun sometimes gamble for fun, mostly when they risk an amount they can afford to lose. The actual time you gamble for fun is when you risk what you can afford to lose and not when you say you want to gamble for fun. However, a gambler might say he will gamble for fun and still end up not gambling for fun when he starts gambling. One can know a responsible gambler if he starts gambling.

Gambling for fun is all about comfortability and zero worry, I don't think touching savings to gamble is even a wise decision to begin with and taking 10% from your deposit to gamble is even cool to think that is fun, there is nothing fun in that considering that percentage, 1-5% is enough since it's a large amount and I will be cool gambling even if I when I lose such amount, I wouldn't even think about it before going to bed.

Gambling fun is also subjective, the way you feel like having fun might be different from what another person thinks but as for me, I gamble for fun with interest in the money in mind, fun of the game comes before money because if nothing is gain, nothing will be pain as what I stake is something I will never worry about but if the money comes, why not but the emphasis is always on the fun which is what I used to brighten my weekend during the season games.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 16, 2024, 09:18:31 PM
It's a good thing that Mbappe is been signed by Real Madrid for five contracts but my area of concentration is where would Ancelotti choose to play Mbappe fully as his wing since Ancelotti likes playing 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 formation for Real matches. Let's not forget that there are quality players like Rodrigo, Vinicius, and Bellingham occupying such playing formations at the frontline.

I think that by next season, Ancelotti will introduce another tactical formation of 4-3-3, to bring Mbappe in, in every Real Madrid match of Laliga or Champions League, to avoid issues or confusion that will arise based on how to feature Real Madrid frontline players

If you study Haaland, he has a similar characteristic with Mbape and that's the speed, such people are good at wing but skills wide Mbape is better than Haaland by far and that is going to make him a good striker of only Anceloti is going to use that strategy. Mbape is not only fast, he is strong and doesn't fall often and I read somewhere he stated he is not worried any where, he is going to accept any place that is given to him, he will deliver.

I think the fact that Anceloti and Perez never gave up on his transfer to Real Madrid, they already had sorted out even before for demand, it will be stupid to sign a player when they don't have his purpose at the moment. Come to think of it, Ronaldo his idol started as winger but was later converted to striker and today he is one of the best Real Madrid ever produced, even Mbape wouldn't be a problem, let's wait when the season resume.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Y hs giving out our private information become a normal thing in the name of KYC on: June 16, 2024, 09:11:15 PM
May I remind us that we should only use reputable casino and be mindful of the casino that we give out our KYC details. If a casino gets hacked, our details can as well be stolen by those hackers.

There was a reputable casino on this forum that got hacked some years ago if you can remember. If reputable casino can be hacked, it means you guys need to be careful with non reputable casinos.

You are two sided person and I don't really understand which you are supporting. You aren't satisfied with why people are given out something private to some companies because they want to play in their platform and guy went ahead to say to give it to reputable casino. My question now is how do you even differenciate between a reputable casino and the one we shouldn't submit our KYC into since you are using reputation as a yardstick like anything is not going to happen later.

I'm not a person that likes casino gambling, a phone number is a I need to gamble in the casino that I used and nothing like KYC is needed but at the same time, I think some people don't have choice but to verified since most of the casinos you see around including the one you referred to as "reputable" all want you to verify before you can use one. It's always difficult to see a casino that doesn't ask for KYC these days but I think majority don't care if it's kyc or not as long as their deposit and withdrawal option is working.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Should there be a limit to investing in your children? on: June 14, 2024, 12:46:53 PM
There is a current trend in my country where parents are doing everything financially possible to give their children the best education. Some parents have gone to the extent of selling properties or taking loans to send their children to some of the best schools in and outside the country. I have spoken with some of them, and the reason they give is that this child will get good jobs and take care of them in the future.

If I live in a region there is no opportunity that much and I had one for myself to be able to start a family and eventually have kids, I will try my possible best to send them to a better place where they will get a good education and where there are bunch of opportunities and not end up in where I start and my push for their success in life isn't to help me later, it's my responsibility to make sure they had a good life and not to put them pressure to become successful at all cost, beside not everyone will make it to some financial level.

Quote
I had to bring up this issue because most of them are becoming disappointed and depressed. In my location, children are seen as an investment because they have the responsibility to take care of their parents when they are retired, old, or unemployed. So parents will want to invest high in education because they think it will bring high returns. Many of these students who attended prestigious schools end up becoming unemployed and are still depending on their parents to survive. I also assume that many of them regret going the extra mile to give their children the best. They have lost money and are also in debt but their children are still dependants.

Do you think parents should have a limit on the amount they can invest in their children?

I think the orientation and upbringing parents instill on their child is the reason for been depressed because they couldn't get a job. Is it their faults that they didn't have the job, sometimes the opportunities are there but their is limited available space for accommodation, sometimes you even have the dream job but the working condition isn't favorable. Stop making children go overboard, it makes them do what isn't appropriate. Delay isn't denial, I will give the best I never had to my children no matter what!
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can someone take gambling as a source of income to he/she life? on: June 14, 2024, 12:12:33 PM
When I started gambling in a new state, I was very happy to win gambling for several days. Then I thought that by earning money from gambling, I will take responsibility of everyone including my family. But gradually I realized that the decision I had taken was completely wrong. Because  No one can ever earn a certain amount of money by gambling. Sometimes there is a chance of winning in gambling and sometimes there is a high chance of losing a lot of money. So I don't see any chance of winning a certain amount of money from gambling.

I think it's that winning streak that gives people the confidence to think gambling can help them as a source of income. Just imagine a situation where you win gambling for 7 days and you never expected it, that thought will comes to your mind immediately but the days you will experienced loss steaks, you wouldn't even try it again, it's a financial suicide to ever think of using gambling as a source of income because it doesn't pay for long term.

However, the fact that it doesn't work for me doesn't mean I will discredit gambling isn't working for other people, we have some people that makes a living from gambling but they are just a drop in the ocean who makes that kind of living, the rest are just like us who make few profits from gambling and enjoy the fun that comes with while the rest just gamble and make losses to favour the gambling platforms.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: crypto is actually the future on: June 14, 2024, 12:06:38 PM
the future of investment that is,

while traditional markets are becoming more and more unpredictable (prices driven by expectation/marketing), cryptos are drawing clear patterns over and over again.
the game is actually flipping over. traditional assets are becoming gambling, crypto is becoming fundamentally backed by historical data.

I hope you know that in unpredictable events, people still makes money from forex, they make huge amount of money from it but unless you understand the game better and how it works. Crypto is an open place where anyone can get first class information and that is why it's consider the best for everyone but in a forex investment, if you have 4 ears listening to the wall street, you are good as the mainstream media in crypto where information can be made available for anyone.

Another advantage of crypto is that they are not as complex as traditional finances looks, we have vast majority of exchanges here who have similar assets for trading, not all brokers can offer the same service due to regulatory concerns but we have both centralized and decentralized exchanges everyone available for everyone regardless of where you are coming from and your nationality, crypto is the king and has wider opportunities than traditional finance.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Biggest Crypto Mistake: Shorting Bitcoin on: June 12, 2024, 12:16:07 PM
Sure, you might snag a few wins, but in the long run, you WILL get rekt.

Bitcoin is an unstoppable train. If you don't believe in its power, don't hop on.

But here's the golden rule: Never bet against Bitcoin.

There are people that are actually good with shorting the market and it work very well them but here is something you need to understand about the market, time is everything you need to open a position in the market, when we are in the bull run, there are more opportunities of long position for market to go up more often than for it to go down and most of the times it quickly retrace anytime the market dump but there is risk as well.

Likewise it's healthy to short a market during a beer run, this is when you tend to make more money and it has it own risk, if you don't have liquidation price far from your mark price, you will lose money quickly because there are times we do have market squeeze when beers and bulls tend to liquidate each other account and it's the exchange that enjoys the fees been burnt for this operations.

Arabs emirates moving away from usd.
Well USA don't care Because they have btc and crypto.
And USA got their own crude oil too.
So USA now will make the petro dollar to crypto dollar we see that USA will be main seller of crypto you need crypto you buy it from USA it Will be bigger than oil

They do care and will be pained in the ass. Demand for a currency gives it value, even the US can't deny that, they need the relationship to be stringer so as they trade, their is a mutual benefit they gain between the two party and let me tell you again that US doesn't have BTC, at least not public and doesn't have crypto, you clearly see how it being fought over and over just because they don't like it and their decisions many times has made the market blee.

The idea of petro dollar is just might that will be difficult to create, look at the CBDC that has cause a lot of controversies, the Trump said if he wins the election, he is going to closed down CBDC  as he see that as a waste of tax payer money. They don't want anything that compete with their dollar so, kill that idea and think about something to spend your time.
