1  Other / Meta / Re: retiring an account in the age of AI on: Today at 09:44:45 PM
i will say im not planning on leaving and have not had any email/accounts compromised. its just i hate loose ends. so i would want a "lock it and leave it" mode; basically start a new account after if needed.
I knew that wasn't the case..[even before I came across this information].. Vapourminer ain't just leaving for some unforseen reasons after 13 whole years of active genuine service. 13 fuckin' yearssss!!...he ain't even in no sig. campaign....Dayumm dude!!!
Quote
for some reason i thought it was hard to permanently lock an account here.
That's not true. You'd have to put up request to Theymos should you ever want to, but what's the point of locking an already built and famous account just to return in a newbie account? oh please,Don't do it
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From $30 free bet to $168 on: Today at 08:58:29 PM
If I am very careful and I do not want to lose the money, I would have likely lost the money. But when I do not that care I won it. Thanks to jeremypwr and Sportsbet for the free bet.
That's usually what it looks like in most cases; it's not really what it seems to be. Mostimes, you could be intentional about it and it cuts perfectly. Whatever!!
Congratulations @Charles on your fortune... Where are we partying? ABJ? Lol.
I have a friend that was supposed to win over 12 odds. All the matches was played and won but remaining just one which got the lowest odd of 1.01. He told he would win the match and did not cash out. But it was surprising that he lost the 1.01 odd bet and the parley was lost.
There's nothing as displeasing as losing on a good bet to a very small odd that you could have avoided with ease... I've had several experiences - one of which is when a customer wagered on 1.59, 8.50, 14,and 19.70 odds on a single bet and everything came through except the 1.59 odd. He was lucky to have singled the ticket otherwise, he'd lose everything.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling platform require wager on first deposit before withdrawal on: Today at 08:43:12 PM
I've recently come across in a platform that has a requirement fora customers to wager their first deposit at least five times before they can make a withdrawal.
Too many rules and an extensional TOS, I'm out!  If they decided to make a user so uncomfortable by not withdrawing until a 5 time deposit of the same amount is done...WTF happens if they have a winning? Are they trying to encourage users to keep huge funds in their wallets due to the frustration of not being able to withdraw?...
I'd like to ask- how do new users feel motivated to not discontinue their registration process after reading their TOS? That seems like a trap to make them gambling with their winnings also. I haven't heard of such tight requirements from casinos but, I get it; everyone has a different form of defense mechanism.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, to quit when winning or to quit when losing? on: Today at 08:23:48 PM
In gambling, 'when to quit' is the key factor which most of gamblers fail to master. Most gamblers lose because they don't know 'when to quit'. There is a limit in gambling when you have to stop whether you are winning or losing. It's lust of winning more money or making up loses is what motivates the gambler to keep investing more money and he ends up in loss. That's why it's said that, in gambling the winner is the one who knows when to quit.
No... That's not it. A gambler gets his motivation from the fact that he wagers, loses money and makes cumulative gain from a one-time win; so, the ideology behind it is that he loses bit by bit and when the winning shows up, it supersedes the total loss... Very many times, that's never the case as they could be unlucky never to get a win at all.

What sort of motivation do I get when I'm losing? Have y'all realized why you shouldn't listen to naysayers and their stories? Yours could be different. I'd prefer - like I always say - to quit when there's a good chance that I'll be losing afterwards.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The benefits of Gambling on: Today at 08:10:51 PM
1. Socialization
2. Income Generation
3. Employment
4. Support to the Gambling Industry
That it's beneficial to you doesn't mean it's good.. most people have lost hard-earned funds, commercial buildings, residential buildings, hectares of land and many more of lives & properties, ruining everything and lowering them to nothing, just for making a decision to begin gamble. Well, I mean it's not one's fault that they refuse to learn from previous experiences but, it is what it is....

The only reason why it's still approved in so many countries today is that nobody is compelled to gamble; you can always have a choice and avoid something that wants to swallow you up. The benefits are definitely not one-sided anyway.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: games with fast results or games with a long process on: Today at 07:58:04 PM
Hello friends.
Have you ever thought about the fact that there are games in gambling that give a gambler:
- a result quickly: red-black, for example, slots.
- and there are some games that have a long process: poker, for example.
What types of gambling do you prefer: With a quick result, and are there those where you can enjoy the process for a long time?
Which of these types of gambling causes addiction faster?
I'd have to rephrase this whole thing like this - casino games and extension games, which is more preferable? I'd say extension games which will take like 3-4 days to get settled... Why I'd choose 'em over casino games would be the leverage, which is the possibility to cashout without waiting for final results.

Casino games are fully controlled and adjusted to fit/fill up the casino's buckets; I can't even stand the sight of someone wagering 20 tickets without having any wins on virtuals. Another disadvantage of wagering on roulette is that you could lose a hundred grand in a space of about 2 hours or so. That forces you into being extravagant!
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: July 01, 2024, 09:59:34 PM
Physical casinos do not have clocks or windows on the gaming floor, and they offer free drinks like wine energy drinks, and food so the gamblers will be hyper focused this is why gamblers spend hours without even knowing they have already spent, while online casinos offer free spins, rakeback, and cashback so you can continue to play to level up to enjoy these perks.
personally, I'd still go with the land based casinos... Maybe because I have an experience of the fun and unnecessary arguments about which team loses or not? The composure that you'd need to walk up and wager your tickets in the midst of degenerate gamblers that would always wanna look out in disdain - or sometimes make fun of how you choose your selections? IDK

Unlike online casinos that you'll have to be left in solitude; the only viable benefit is the focus and consistency. This is something you can barely have on land based casinos because everyone is always in a hurry... You've got your time ticking say  - 2:45 and countdown begins... You gotta register atleast 25 - 30 tickets before the existing round begins
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: July 01, 2024, 09:57:09 PM
Advising any grown man to stay away from gambling is like telling a toddler to not lick a piece of candy, when they already know how good it taste.
Gambling has had an adverse influence on the society at large, but anyway , it's an unavoidable thing for people that make alot of money from it. The sweet thing about it is the idea of wagering with a dollar and winning a hundred or so.
Edit:
Gambling addiction is very bad in the sense that you don't see the joy in gambling anymore. What you see is ways to get money and how to recover from money in gambling[..]
You know how that's gonna end? Well, it doesn't have an end AFAIK.. if you seriously wanna quit, you'd have to look away. One of biggest lessons to learn is to not chase your loses no matter how possible that may look to you.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the reputation or guarantee of casino sites being advertised here? on: July 01, 2024, 09:43:20 PM
Does the casino itself worth the blame or bitcointalk forum is to be blamed for convincing bettors to accept any advertised gambling sites to be legit and unwavery to bridge their reputation?
Why would you even think of putting the blames on a community for referring you to a casino that has been reliable for about 10 years or so? It's about how they lowered/raised their standards, putting themselves and a big big pressure of running bankrupt. [1]
Quote
Lastly, has there been any casino site advertised in this forum which has ever bridged its reputations?
Alot.. the likes of 1xbit has been relentlessly running promotions until 2023.. I see people recommending reviews but, you don't need to forget in a hurry that everything is a paid-part of promotion.

I needed to know these so that it does not feel like I am misleading my friends.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Hated someone because he/she win too much, when you are constantly losing? on: July 01, 2024, 09:29:26 PM
- will you (for the sake of peace, maybe to hide your envy, jealousy) continue to go gambling with that friend? And continue to lose your money?
I don't have any reasons to put up an envy simply because they're winning all the time and I'm losing. Always understand that you're a gambler; it's like staying in a jungle and, the only way to survive is to HUNT. 75% of hunts end in failure, but you could win big by catching up with a buffalo or bison on a good days. Does that really mean that everyone makes it big on the same trail - NO.
Quote
- or will you tell him point clear that you are no longer interested in going to gamble with him? How are you gonna do it so he doesnt suspect that you are not happy with his constant winnings, when you are constantly losing?
it could be for any other reason - maybe to minimize my staking power and reduce the frequency in which I gamble, but certainly not because he's on his winning spree.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Should Have a to Do List In Case Of winning A Huge Amount on: July 01, 2024, 09:18:23 PM
Another one is setting up a business that he does not know how to manage, he spends millions on this business venture but eventually folds up, and he loses all his fortune because of mismanagement.
One of the worst thing to have ever tried was venturing into a business he has no idea about.... Decision making is also a thing; how do invest in a business with knowing the prerequisites on how to maximize profits? You could employ labour, Yes... Without a doubt, but how do you get to know where there's shortage?
Quote
Another winner is he entrusted his winnings to his relatives to claim because he did not know how to read and write and had no valid ID; he only got 20% of his total winnings because his relatives told him because of a deduction in the form of taxes.
"Ignorance is bliss, but illiteracy is mindlessness".. in whatever you do, always try to get yourself tutored. Nothing beats the fact that you know a thing to yourself, without needing possible aids to run them.

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your most important crypto advice? on: June 30, 2024, 09:59:25 PM
What is your most important crypto advice?
Please share here and also add a short comment why it is your most important crypto advice.
Don't ever believe anything you see on the internet - no matter where you see it.... All 'em crypto wannabe projects are getting launched every single day and, all you can do about it - unless you've got specific techs to indulge - is avoid them.

Avoid trying to be part of a ponzi scheme for any reason; sometimes, it could be a trend of the season and your folks may have been a great guest to the party already etc...
We've got naysayers in almost any platforms you could seek to have visibility; there's never a good report about Bitcoin from them. Don't believe anything you see.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "How best do I secure my investment on bitcoin as a newbie" on: June 30, 2024, 09:54:11 PM
OP hasn't replied to any of these contributions atleast to affirm if anyone of this has been useful. it's slowly turning this topic into a spam fest. You see, that's the problem we keep having with newly created accounts coming up to raise a discussion; ain't nobody be against them for typically asking a question -  what's really the point of ignoring/disappearing without even getting answers already? Huh

In whatever you do, always choose the right path; you wanna HODL? Pay for a hardware wallet and avoid unnecessary heartthrob. It's better to have access and custody over your funds than to have access alone.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: June 30, 2024, 09:40:02 PM
I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned. However, looking at it in another perspective, I don't know if it is because I did not meet the number of my post require to earn a merit or because of the low quality of my post that is the reason why I had not been able to earn a single merit. So please I will like to get more clarifications on the possible requirement for earning merit.
Seems like you're just out to earn merit in the slightest possible means, without wanting to impact the community for it or learn either way. Why are you always asking questions about merit all the time? It's obvious that you've known exactly what to do to gain  'em but you just wanna keep asking questions as a way to get merited, maybe for your curiosity or something? I'm afraid you're going down the drain.
So far you made 32 posts of which 5 were deleted. 18 of your posts were replies to existing threads, so you opened yourself likely 14 own threads. What strikes me is that you rarely, if at all, engage or reply in your own opened threads. Why is that?
That's obviously because he doesn't have an interest in those created topics other than trying to see if it cuts (earns him some merit)... So when things don't go as planned, he tries another maneuver. 😂
15  Other / Meta / Re: Artificial Intelligence on the Forum on: June 30, 2024, 09:09:19 PM
The debate is when such aids will be accepted.  There is little difference between garbage AI and garbage make your post quota.
Vod, you ain't trying to make this a personal problem right? Smiley I can recall taking pains to straighten out that what I wrote wasn't about anyone in particular - What do you mean garbage post quota?
Have you realized that you're entitled to your own opinion as long as everyone needs to say something? AFAIK, with the limited knowledge I've got, AIs don't CREATE informations on their own; that doesn't mean what they create ain't useful... You can call 'em an aid alongside grammerly and the rest IDC.
A lot of what I see around here sounds like Luddism to me.
That's what you think?... Lol
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: June 30, 2024, 08:24:04 PM
Now about the Ethereum Tokens.  Any body can make one, I believe there are even tools to create your own for free.  This is why there are millions, and particularly a lot of Scam attempts.  There are probably millions of Bitcoin copies out there too, but they do not appear any where on a centralized data base of sorts.
Millions of unlicensed projects hitting the net... The open sourcehip is exactly why they create whatever they like and keep bugging people on their dms to "tap tap" kinda shit just for publicity and probably being listed on DEX.

I personally don't invest in any altcoin at all.. I can't even see myself doing shit like buying Dodge/Shiba in the nearest future. I understand that in the soace of 4-6 months, you could make a little from it; how do you make analysis on a coin that depends on Bitcoin and doesn't fulfill anything on its white paper?
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there rules limiting newbie from sending merit in this forum. on: June 29, 2024, 09:59:45 PM
And how can I send merit to someone if I see a good post.
And I want to know how the merit system works in this forum.
I'm curious to know I don't want to make any mistakes or break any rules.
The only thing you have to avoid getting into is any sort of "merit me and I'll do same on your account" type of shit .. I'm mentioning this as my first advice cause i feel it's necessary that you understand how transparent the system is, and that merit shouldn't be given based on how familiar a profile seems to be to you.

Aside that, there's no limit to how many people you can merit - although you can't merit each of them above 50 at once.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump vs. Biden is almost like Bitcoin vs Fiat on: June 29, 2024, 09:52:38 PM
With Biden vetoing this crypto bill to allow corporations to be their own custodian & just being anti crypto in general & Trump preaching crypto to remain a priority in the US & also saying he would ensure protecting holders rights to self custody. Trump is literally talking about crypto policy with Elon Musk & saying how he is going to do all these things like grant pardons to high profile crypto bros its just wild. Its kind of fun to watch, also very funny how when I think about it Biden vs. Trump is sort of similar to Fiat vs. Bitcoin. Thoughts?
Unless otherwise please, for the safety of feeling neglected after expecting too much, DON'T TRUST POLITICIANS. it's better to follow their propagandas and see the outcome of it than trusting their words.

Trump already condemned and made everything obvious that he was not in support, then he suddenly changed his mind when he knew alot of investors were off their couch to evict him off the position. Whatever it is, I believe Bitcoin deserves a good return at the end.
As a news report I just read, Biden's re-election team is discussing accepting cryptocurrency donations. That means they will also be making crypto-related promises in the near future.
This is it... "They'll always swirl to positions where the wind is stronger "
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What ruined your chances of investing in Bitcoin earlier? on: June 29, 2024, 09:44:41 PM
I almost lost everything when someone very close to me went deceased. It  not about the funds for a ceremonial occasion, it was about the influence that the said person had... It derailed my interest in so many things and I had to face real life problems instead.

After a few years, since I do alot of reading, I began to develop sudden interest in bitcoin through the documentaries i read and ... that's it. I got introduced by a friend to the forum and, it looked like I had to start all over again. Yunno that feeling of knowing something but doing it the wrong way? That was it.
20  Other / Meta / Re: Artificial Intelligence on the Forum on: June 29, 2024, 09:32:01 PM
Sorry to reply to this so late, but I missed the updates on this thread.  And honestly, whether AI-generated posts constitute plagiarism or not, they ought to be banned, full stop.
Exactly my point!! I mean, how did this even turn into a debate whether or not user that post with aids be banned?

What's the petty sentiments about?... Y'all need to stop whatever you're doing and call a spade by its name. No offense to anyone that feels this is about them but .... c'monnn!  Are you practically telling people to follow suit?

The younger generations are looking up to you.. What's this gonna sound like? Take a look at altcointalk for instance; are y'all comfortable in there compared to Bitcointalk? No shades! I will never join any unnecessary arguments about what's considerably bad or not, but if I'm being executed cause I was caught with arms (in a country that it isn't legalized) in an attempt to steal, does that make pocket pickers to not face the laws... Good lord!
