2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still got enough cash to buy this Bitcoin dip? on: September 14, 2024, 08:40:33 AM
Buy the dip if you can, but this present Bitcoin value is not the type for selling valuable things to buy Bitcoin or borrowing money, I don't see the huge opportunity like that of 2022 and 2023 where Bitcoin was trading at $17,000 after the massive dump and the new low of $15,000 in 2023, these are good example of one life time opportunity where doing all you can to buy Bitcoin is a must.

Now you should just keep doing your DCA or safe up your money for any possible decline in the future, the price isn't looking tempting for me, I like investing when things are extremely bad for Bitcoin, not when the whole market is looking like something that can surge even higher soon.

Nah, bad times is the best time for opportunities.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Presidential Debate Funny Markets:Will Harris say Weird? Will Trump say Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2024, 07:19:35 AM
A few months ago I was ready to place a bet on this upcoming presidential election, I tried looking for where to place this bet but I couldn't find any, so I let go, even if I found Cloudbet I would have lost the bet because I was certain that Trump will talk about Bitcoin on the debate day, I was wrong.

To say the truth I don't care about the election anymore, if you guys know where I can still place a bet I would because now I think Kamala will win the election not Trump, the reason why I said I don't care anymore is because whoever wins the election it will only have an effect on Bitcoin for few weeks, after that Bitcoin will do whatever it planned to do.

I feel sorry for crypto supporters in the US, once Kamala takes over Gary will go after so many people, I feel Trump shouldn't have mentioned that he would fire Gensler if he got elected, he should have planned to do this in his mind, the less enemies he would have made.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEP-20 Trades - Suspended In US Exchanges - What To Do? on: September 14, 2024, 06:19:07 AM
I bet you can still move the BTCB around yeah? Create a new wallet on OKX wallet and use their in-change swap function, you can swap the BTCB to other digital currencies, even the most volume less tokens that I had was tradable through OKX wallet, I was shocked as well, because there is no volume left, I guess it was possible because OKX wallet is fully web3 capable.
Recommend to move fund in that likely 'compromised' wallet to a new wallet is a good advice, but the rest is not.

OKX web3 wallet is close source as I thought and after checking today. Correct me if it is open source. The mother company OKX started with a centralized exchange, that went full KYC months ago.

If you see no risk by using OKX web3 wallet, ok let's go but I won't pick this web3 wallet.

The main goal here is to get rid of BTCB to other coins, OKX wallet can be closed source like you said and that's not a problem because I am not advising OP to keep the BTCB inside the OKX wallet, I expect him to sell the BTCB coin for another digital coins and move them out back to main wallet, the goal is swapping of BTCB not using OKX wallet for holding BTCB.

Most web3 wallets are all closed source by the way, if you know which is open source it will help if you drop their names on here, I have been using OKX wallet for a very long time now but I don't use it for storingsyroing my valuable assets, the trading or swapping of this wallet is one of the easiest out there.

Another good feature of this wallet is the extremely low transaction fee, while uniswap and others will take high amounts for gas fees this OKX inbuilt swap will take a small amount and still get the job done, I am not advising anyone to use OKX wallet to keep their crypto assets for long term but this wallet is good use as a hot wallet.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: There are still really a lot of fools when it comes to crypto investment? on: September 13, 2024, 01:44:48 PM
Poverty is a big disease in the sense that it can easily blind anyone, once you are poor you will be opened to any thing, you will want to get out of your current situation by all means, either through scam or shady business, if it pays then nothing else matters..

For someone who has eaten breakfast today, they won't have the same mindset as someone who hasn't eaten anything today, HYIP can be very much confusing for someone who is suffering, I've been there and i know how it feels, not a pleasant position to be.

Still, all we can keep doing is advising vulnerable people, it is always the poor people that fall for HYIP the most, when an offer is too good to be true then do not patronize it, the poor will have a hard time getting over this, but I am sure that the wise ones will learn from their mistakes.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to maintain the seedphrase safely, so that no malicious person can find it? on: September 13, 2024, 12:24:46 PM
My recovery seed phrase is on a steel and it's been kept inside my safe, to get inside my safe will take you days unless you come prepared with some higher end machines and tools for safe jailbreaking, the cops will be here before you know it though it is better to avoid this, no one should know that you have a safe in your home, or else they will start wondering what's inside the safe.

You also need to keep quiet about cryptocurrencies, do not talk about your holdings or you will have some uninvited guests at your doorstep.

Avoid...

1. Any digital backups or online way of saving, e.g cloud storages.
2. Its just you and your crypto holdings, the more you keep it this way the safer you are.
3. Do not use your smartphones as backup, no screenshots with camera either.

Follow these rules and you will be fine.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What if Gamblers had to go to Gambling school to learn? on: September 13, 2024, 11:26:08 AM
What if there was a legit gambling school that teach responsible gambling for maximum benefit in nearly every country that have gambling citizens, will it help to make gambling a profitable career or investment for potential new and old time gamblers?

Also, will the study or reading of books on gambling theories and strategies help to brush up one's understanding of how games are won, more than videos and podcasts would?

Learning how to be a responsible gambler doesn't require a school, it is not worth building a school for, the only thing you can find is a school where damaged gamblers are kept for healing, i mean the addicted gamblers school.

Casinos are not created to make winners, it is not the same as education, in short casinos exists to make money out of you by selling you fake hopes and dreams, because the chances of making it big is very slim, it is only two out of 200 gamblers that get the best luck.

Casinos are wired to be the ultimate winner, if you want you can learn all the possible strategy in this world you can't always win over something that's programmed to always be ahead of you, winning as a gambler is aost impossible, this is why gamblers need to believe more in their source of income and less in risky activities like gambling, no strategy anywhere that can help you than lowering your risk.

The less amount of money you risk on gambling the better for you to maintain your sanity and be able to think straight, look forward to enjoying your games more than making money out of the games, this is the only strategy there is.

I am quit surprised that this is still ongoing in the US, this shouldn't be happening and yet some idiots want Kamala to get elected as the president, many crypto companies have left the US and many more will end up leaving once Kamala Harris starts showing her hatred on Crypto with Gary Gensler as her side kick.

Drop a feedback later OP, as I strongly believe that OKX wallet is capable of solving this issue, good luck.

That's who BTCB looks like in OKX wallet, make sure you have some BNB for gas fee, $0.50 BNB will get the job done, don't forget to say thanks. Cheers.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin mining still profitable? on: September 12, 2024, 05:22:17 PM
Hello everyone! Since mining isn’t that popular anymore I’m curious is BTC mining still profitable?
I’ve really many equipment since I was mining ETH back in 2021 but when it changed from PoW to PoS I’m not sure about its profitability..I mean only 3% APR and much more money to invest now. So, do you recommend to stick to BTC mining or switch to staking? I saw crazy APRs like 150% but not sure about it
I dropped mining bc it stopped being profitable for me. I earned, and then paid my bills, with 0% profit in the end. I didn't see 150% APR but I saw about 100-120% in one pos project Waterfall Network. Check them out, maybe it'll be helpful for you

150% APR is insane, too good to be true, I've looked into Waterfall Network as requested, and I don't think that the project is safe, the project backers are not the popular ones, there is less traffic on the website, I can't find any information about how much they've raised, usability wise is very low too, I doubt that project will survive.

Why are you risking money on this when there are many good projects right now like Zetachain, Sui, Manta Network, and so on, it is not too late right now, change your way of researching new projects, it is very poor.

If miners stays out of the bitcoin blockchain, then it means  bitcoin users will face it hard times of transactions because mining is an essential administration mechanizing the imputations and servicing the forebeing of bitcoin transactions.
So at no course would it not be profitable but though the profitablity ratios are varies depending on the volume of transactions and numbers of bitcoin being mined.

No, this is a completely incorrect answer. Bitcoin mining can and has been very unprofitable at times. The cost of electricity and hardware can far outweigh the return from mining fees. It has never been "at no course would it not be profitable" as you put it.

Just because Bitcoin mining can be profitable doesn't mean it is for everyone, people need to find out how much KwH cost in their country first because without cheap electricity it makes no sense to invest money on asic miners, anyone or any organizations mining Bitcoin right now are doing so because their electricity fee is fair enough.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that big winners should donate to addiction support programs? on: September 12, 2024, 04:31:11 PM
It is fine if gamblers decide not to support any gambling addiction programs, it is not as if they will be cursed and start losing money and this won't make those contributing to the program to make more money either, this must be a matter of decision making, let the gamblers decide this themselves.

Let's not forget that gamblers already make their decisions when they are about to start gambling, if you are reckless you will see the result and if you are responsible with your gambling you will also get the results, as for me I can only help if I see any reason to do so, the situation must be very bad for the addicts for me to help.

You can call me names for being wicked but gambling addiction is something you dragged yourself into, no one else but yourself, you let your greed get the best of you, gambling is dangerous, everyone knows this and you must always have this in mind before you decide to be a gambler, the first and last priority of every gambler is becoming a responsible gambler.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DCA, the most convenient way to increase your bitcoin as an investor. on: September 12, 2024, 02:08:10 PM
Here is the painful truth.

DCA is not the most convenient way to increase your Bitcoin as an investor, where the money is coming from is what will make the journey an easier one, to hell with DCA when you can't even eat two times a day, to hell with DCA when you are in debt and can't pay up your bills.

The way you make your money is what will make DCA harder or easier, this is why I like advising those seeking crypto investment advice to first find a good income stream, how long you are going to hold your Bitcoin depends on your job, if money is coming in you are good with your family, you can do this or that without touching your crypto portfolio.

The longer your crypto portfolio survives, the better the result will be; it is not going to be easy for you without your income stream right there at your side; it is the ultimate tool to reach that long-term growth.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spending extra to keep my assets out of trouble on: September 12, 2024, 12:57:10 PM
What about someone who has binance wallet and trust wallet is there still need for hardware wallet?

Maybe some people won't like it, but a hardware wallet (not even the best one) is not an absolute solution for safe storage of our coins (private keys) if we don't use that same hardware wallet the way we should.

I will ask a simple question - is someone's Bitcoin safer on a centralized exchange if we take into account that the person knows what phishing is and keeps his access data offline, or is someone's Bitcoin safer if he has a hardware wallet whose backup is saved to e-mail, in the cloud or as plain text on a computer?

I have to reply to this comment.

You are right that one still need to learn how to properly handle their hardware wallet to be on a safer path, but on a norms, hardware wallets are safer than anything else in crypto space, unless they are not non- custodial and also maybe the owner don't know how to use the hardware wallet in a safe way.

The fact is your Bitcoin is less safer in a non custodial wallet running on your PC as well, even if you keep the private keys safe, PC is a hacking haven where anything could possible go wrong, it is why Bitcoiniers need to take cold storage very seriously.

It is easier to follow the rules of handling a hardware wallet the right way because there aren't many, but it is very hard to do the same running a wallet on a windows PC, you have to be careful of every thing you do, since the internet is involved.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best wallet for storing Bitcoin? on: September 11, 2024, 04:40:17 PM
You don't have to complicate things, if you have small amount of money to buy Bitcoin you can use non custodial Bitcoin wallets built for smartphones, like Trust wallet and Electrum, when I said small amount I mean the hundreds of dollars range, but if you have a thousand dollar worth of Bitcoin I advice you should start preparing how to end up buying a Trezor hardware wallet, it wimt cost you an arm or leg.

I remember in 2023, I had like 10k worth of crypto on my trust wallet and I began to worry, my mind won't just leave the stupid idea alone, I knew that 10k in USD is way too much for trust wallet, although some users claimed that they store higher amount of Bitcoin in trust wallet and nothing bad happened, my mind was telling me that do I have to wait till something bad happens? So I purchased a hardware wallet and it doesn't cost more than $120 then, since then I don't get worries anymore.

Hardware wallets are the best, just make sure they are non custodial, but Electrum wallet is a good option for someone who don't have money for HD wallets, it is completely open source, the best free wallet that I can recommend to any beginner by far with zero worries, keeping your recovery seed safe is your responsibility, make sure it doesn't get closeer to online or the internet.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is The election worth the hype for BTC on: September 11, 2024, 12:58:25 PM
I think interest rate cut is more bullish than the US election, after every rate cuts the market becomes bearish for a while but in time the market become bullish.

If Kamala Harris wins this still won't stop Bitcoin from going higher, think about it, this isn't the first election in the US, and we have been hearing similar stories for years, Kamala could win and Bitcoin will still do better, will Joe Biden was elected Bitcoin makes a new all time high.

This is enough prove that Election effect on Bitcoin price action is low, in the end what drives Bitcoin is the chart itself, retailers will be back but not if the sign of recession fades into the dark.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on 1.5 odd football (soccer) games, thrice a week until the year ends. on: September 11, 2024, 10:41:40 AM
Do not consider betting as a means of making money. You will likey just lose more than you will be winning. I am saying this from experience. You do not need to think or bother yourself about how much you want to win daily or weekly. Just check matches and pick the one you think you would win and stake it with small amount of money. If it is just a single 1.5 odd in a week, that is enough.

Not a bad advice, but some people can afford to gamble more than once in a week, it depends on how much the person is willing to risk and yes it doesn't have to be about money but fun, I gamble more than once in a week and that's about how much I can afford to lose.

It is just an habit of having fun because the amount is way too small to cause any damage to me, 1.5 odds is not even that high, I call this number moderate and anyone can use it either someone managing or someone with a lot of money.

Whenever I want to advice someone that's starting out on gambling, I always tell them to expect things to always go south, because that's the case with gambling, and people expect me to take it serious as if its stock investment or crypto investment? If the chances of getting bad result is high in gambling such doesn't deserve using high amount of money.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "What are the biggest mistakes I should avoid as a newbie"? on: September 11, 2024, 08:19:16 AM
1. Learn
2. Keep learning.
3. Never stop learning.

Even if you have money to invest into Bitcoin or anything right now, the more impatience you are as someone with low knowledge th easier you will make stupid mistakes.

Before you take any financial steps as a beginner it is best to ask question and do your own research first, this way you are simply trying to cut down the risk of making foolish mistakes.

Ask questions about everything, where to buy, how to keep, what to use to keep your coins, which ones are safer, you are a newbie after all, the highest numbers of scam victims in crypto space are beginners like you, and most of them have one thing in common, that's hasty.

Be calm and ask/seek before taking any steps.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football seasons: how it affects virtual games betting and live match betting. on: September 10, 2024, 01:41:02 PM
Football season is where most people will prefer to be but some people are not even fans of football at all, they will prefer virtual games still, the truth is many people in the world today are not into football like that, I am an example too, I only place bet on the big football team and that's all, but I don't joke with slot games, even if the football match is ongoing I can still decide to keep playing my slots game.

One shouldn't disturb the other, some gamblers love football naturally and they will place bets on any football game that seems interesting to them while some pick the bigger games too or the games that they feel they can predict the outcome and win.

For most gamblers it is all about the win, they don't care about who lose but making money off a game is their main target, virtual games will always see load of fans just as football games too, one doesn't disturb the other.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the most reliable way of earning Bitcoin on: September 10, 2024, 12:41:22 PM
Bitcoin seen to be one of the most reliable means of financial freedom especially to those that were not able to get a sustainable employment but as we all know, nothing good comes so easy, there is always a specific task and price to pay before getting a sustainable means of financial freedom.
I'm a newbie in Bitcoin and I'm passionate to develop myself professionally in the system and to acquire a reasonable Bitcoin that I can rely on for enconomic development but the major challenge I have now is how to go about it and the possibility of breakthrough in the system, so on that note, I sincerely wish to learn to enable me get the prerequisite knowledge for the possibility of acquiring Bitcoin with little or no capital.

You can't accumulate Bitcoin with no capital, gone are the days were I can tell anyone to join some faucets online, you can still join some airdrops and you can convert the money into Bitcoin, but this isn't the best idea as many airdrops won't pay.

The best advice I can give anyone is your shoe is to get employed somewhere, to out and find some job that can bring in some money for you every month then use some part of the money to DCA into Bitcoin every month, this is the most easiest way to get some Bitcoin.

Even if you start with airdrops it is going to be tough because you need to survive, when the money isn't coming in fast you will lose yourself, to survive you need a paying job or similar, the rest will be to learn how to use an exchange to trade your Fiat back to Bitcoin and withdraw.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A reservoir of unpredictable games. on: September 10, 2024, 10:44:33 AM
There is a saying that a new gambler won't have a success story to tell if he wins on the first day he tries gambling, this will be the fuel for his next losses and not until he loses money he won't think straight.

It Is better to have first bad experience when starting out on gambling compared to winning some rounds as a beginner, before you start gambling at all you need some strategy, when to stop and walk out and how much you are willing to keep using on gambling.

You also need to chose few days in a week, the idea of gambling everyday sucks, your work or job must be your first priority, if you are making money you can easily try out your luck using part of the money you make, if you are jobless gambling is not the solution for you, make money first.

Finally, gamblers must accept that gambling is luck, the only trick you can apply is responsible gambling, you have no superpower over anything related to gambling, accept this and have some fun.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Harris campaign now accepts Bitcoin on: September 10, 2024, 06:08:10 AM

She's in the same league as Elizabeth Warren who wanted wallet providers to enforce KYC and wanted all bitcoin holders to be asked to declare their holdings by the IRS.

She wants to delegalize privacy!

Harris only wants donations because she believes people are dumb enough to finance the campaign of someone who wants to later tax their holdings and deprive them of their privacy.

Give me money you dumb animals and if I win I'll take the rest of it.

There's absolutely no evidence Harris or Warren or anybody else in the US government wants to "deprive you of your privacy".

The US has has capital gains taxes since the 1930s, under every president of every party. The US will have capital gains taxes forever, regardless of who is elected.

Have you ever seen where Kamala talked about Bitcoin before? Because I haven't, she is pretending mate, this is enough evidence for me, Kamala is backed by that witch called Warren and Joe Biden, if she wins you will see what these people will do, it is not going to end well, this is the same thing I keep telling everyone who are supporting kamala right now.

Kiss Privacy goodbye if kamala takes over, she is accepting donations in crypto because crypto has so many fans in the United States of America, once this is over she will turn into the monster she's been hiding.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/top-super-pac-backing-kamala-harris-accept-cryptocurrency-donations-2024-09-05/

Now both major US candidates accept Bitcoin for donations. Great progress for Bitcoin acceptance.
Do not be fooled by politician, folks. They are the absolute devils and will do anything to win an election, but once you hand them the power, that is when you will see their true colors. I know of countries whose Governments would suddenly accept donations via cryptocurrencies after years of FUD just because they are at war and want to win it at all costs. Once things get better, they just continue with the same FUD and demonization of cryptocurrencies.

What do you think we should do? Should we rebel and overthrow the current government? Or should we stay out and not vote, but does that make any difference when one of the two candidates still becomes president?

The nature of politics is to lie and do whatever it takes to get what they want and everyone knows it. But the harsh truth is that whether we like it or not, we cannot change the fact that they are still the ones who lead the country and control us. So what we can do is vote for the person we think is the lesser evil. Same with crypto, vote for the candidate you think will do the least harm to it.

Vote for Trump, he seems to be the only person we can trust right now, he is surrounded by people who want to see crypto prevail, starting with black rock, Saylor, Elon Musk, and a few others, even JFK, he is the better option than Kamala right now, we can't just fold our hands, I know that politicians will always be politicians but what Trump wants to do is far from trying to deceive his people.

Trump will do less harm than Kamala. Vote wisely
