Grom's mod http://www.mediafire.com/?o3dm789ezs1wy38 for beer/rpool it's still very dirty Beta so no warranty. This Version should be ultimate blockfinder, but the rate on low shares 7ch, 6ch is drasticaly decreased to get benefit in speed. for better fearness (if you use this miner) i would advise to increase share ratings for 8+ chain shares ... this makes this version comparable with leaked previous beta in earnings but has a lot better blockfinding rate

The third Primecoin mining pool! website: http://rpool.net/blocksfeatures: 2% fee payout according to last round shares, and send immediately to your wallet (like p2pool) different chain-length share value (see http://rpool.net/reward) miner: use beeeeer pool miner primeminer v0.4 RC1 , thanks xolokram! usage: primeminer -pooluser=[payout-address] -poolip=rpool.net -poolport=8336 -genproclimit=[threads-to-use] Happy mining! Please stop share and use Grom's miner, it was my private testversion!!! it's good in generating shares but extremely bad in finding blocks, you are killing your pool.

Ok i think i have got the debug found 64ffffff thing worked out
It is finding primes but they are below the diff of 9.xxxxxx so they are discarded.....
Have had it do lots of 6.xxxxx and a couple of 7.xxxx and 1 8.xxxx so i think this is how it works
Anybody able to confirm ?
Got a block already?

What mean log lines like this:
C1 106426003 --> 06.57ee93 found!
?
It seems you found a block, but i think it's block on testnet 06.57 means dificulty, and this diff is actuall on testnet. But i have testnet=0 in my primecoin.conf and in wallet's debug windows checkbox "in test net" is unchecked... May be reaper reports about all solutions with difficulty > 6? well i have no idea than .... this block diff is definitly too low, it's like testnet difficulty , on mainnet it's llike "09.85+" There are also NO copinz in wallet WTFruitcake I have had 4 c1 -> 6777ef foundz ... not even on testnet ? well can be it's just debug output than

Well i have several VPS with Xenons and Opterons ... 2 opteron's cores costs like 1 Xenon's if you buy processors ... But Opterons perform 1.5-2 times better... ( i mean 6 core Xenon vs 12 Core Opteron ) that's why. Cache is important but not that much for Prime search ... In your link i see AMD has mbetter memory performance +++ it's more imortant i think. and Second ... really for prime search you need execution units ... Cores.

AMD Vishera FX 8320 is better, more Cores.

The big problem for making pool is shares check.... Example: If you mine 9-er chain and submit 6-er chains as share you'll get about 20 6-er chains in a hour. If i use same block data and replace in miner to search for 6-er chains you'll find 200-300 6-er chains in a hour why ? well sieve is working like this ... it tryes sieve out all numbers that definitly don't make 9-er chain, this means if it makes 6-er chain but next number in chain is devided by any prime of primes in the sieve-check it will don't ever bother with check this chain, so no share. The pool should tell client exactly where to search... like this ... search with hash XXXX, with primorial multiplier YY, in the range of multipliers [NNN-MMM](bounds for min and max of Sieve) with exactly check of min (2.....XXXX) primes. The checking of share is problem .... you have to check would be this chain sieved out, if it's so - this share is illegal. so this means you have to factorize all next Numbers from the share chain ( numbers if it would be 7-er, 8-er,9-er chain), and check they dividable by primes from [2....XXXX]. It isn't trivial and means really a lot of work for pool software ... I have no idea how make it better atm, probably take 7-er, 8-er chains as share ... I hope i've made myself understandable, my english isn't that good. P.S. i think this is the one of the causes that Ypool doesn't work good for really miners.

On RPi's website FAQ...
What Linux distros will be supported at launch?
Fedora, Debian and ArchLinux will be supported from the start. We hope to see support from other distros later. (Because of issues with newer releases of Ubuntu and the ARM processor we are using, Ubuntu can’t commit to support Raspberry Pi at the moment.) You will be able to download distro images from us as soon as the Raspberry Pi is released, and we will also be selling pre-loaded SD cards shortly after release.
Do any of the current LTC miners work with Fedora, Debian and ArchLinux?
Sure on all of them

Litecoin is now a coin that can be mined by gpu. That is reason enough. If the longevity of Litecoin is now effected, I'd like to know. On the other hand, if the first people to gpu mine get an advantage great! I doubt it, and there isn't enough money in it to be more than a topic of curiosity. This is a money market no matter how you look at it for most of us.
Yes, everything you state is true, this is a money market that is hopefully full of saavy people that will realize what gpu mining could potentially do to this currency. What I am trying to get across is: You would be silly to mine litecoins with your gpu when you can make more with bitcoins right now. Also, Flooding the market with GPU mined litecoins isn't going to drive the price of litecoins up as far as I know. And yes, you can probably pay someone to make a GPU miner - but they are not going to take litecoins. Hell, as demonstrated by the reaper miner, there could already be GPU miners in use that aren't being distributed. We have the big issue of the currency being developed to be complementary to bitcoin and not a competitor for GPU usage ... Now that it is a competitor, how is that going to affect things? I'm not against the bounty for a fully functional gpu miner, I just don't see any good to come out of it. I don't see any value to being an early adopter of GPU mining with a currency with the current value of litecoin. edit: I could be just being all doom and gloom here though. I would love for someone to brighten up my outlook on litecoin gpu mining Also, need to do some more reading on the efficiency factor. I see the point many people are bringing up about it damaging the system, but Litecoin is NOW a GPU coin that is more profitable on CPU for the time being. GPU mining has been done, and now Litecoin needs to adapt and change it's plan. Even if it isn't profitable now, the ability is still there for when or if it does become a more viable currency. I was hoping we could all use this thread to start talking about getting better miners more than "should we" because if it can be done, it will, and someone will use that to hurt the community to either 51% it or purposely fuck the economy. I like Litecoin and want to see it thrive, but I REALLY don't want to turn a blind eye to this because I don't want it to happen. Scrypt-Litecoin miner can't be that fast as Bitcoin, so 7970 has unreacheble theoritacal maximum of 1200 kh/s To attack network you need 51% this means with this rate someone has to have Farm of 50+ 7970. Is it possible to attack well costy 5870 has unreachable maximum at 500 kh/s and so on. At this time it's not worth to attack chain, I think releasing good Scrypt GPU-miner will even strngth network and make it more Valuable. You shouldn't care about 51% from GPU miners, the chain can be EASY! attacked by botnet. if a middle botnet node can give 10kh/s you need just 5000+ nodes! it's just TINY! botnet. So i think Scrypt-GPU-miner is even good for LTC not bad, more hashrate so even better protection of a chain. P.S. LTC miners and Bitcoin miners on GPU not that competative, LTC-scrypt miner performs on Nvidia about the same as on AMD. the second thing, only really "special" cards give very big performance, like 7970, 7950, 6990, GT590 and so on.

If someone can create a better fork of this SC but without all its problems, then please go ahead. When you finish developing your fork, encourage others to migrate to it instead of staying with SC (in its current form) as I think it's high time to stick it to the scammer. How nice of you to offer that "Someone else" should do something. Why don't you stop being lazy and do the "right coin" , you obviously think Bitcoin needs fixing. By the way, SolidCoin can't be forked, license was changed to stop competitive works building from it. Another lesson from Bitcoin. Ah yes ? just a question ? why are you working on this project ? 1) you want save the world ( Than you should recognize that Bitcoin has potential to help the worl be better and don't scry everywhere "BITCOIN WILL COLLAPSE" ) 2) As you mentioned in Solidcoin You are the person world is circle around (well than you are more corrupt as me and your other posts tell me you think Money makes world circle around someone as result you'll spend coins) 3) You just want some money ( Result you'll spend coins ) Other ideas why are you working on that? Please teach us with your whiteness, Oh lord. Answers to my questions.
