Update Announcement

Hello everyone,

Effective immediately we no longer get fee from faucet owners and faucet users.

also, access control, budget control, and Proxy detection are added to faucet owners panel.

ok this is good news, but if you don't mind me asking...

how are you going to pay for that, then? is it a limited promotion, and then you will set fees? or are you promising it will stay this way forever? pls clarify

BUT HERE'S AN IMPORTANT PART

your system requires sign-up for users. I understand that you have several services on your site, that require a full account.

but regular faucet users hate this. first they sign up for the faucet itself, then to epay.info, then when they use different address (and like anonymity), they have to sign up again, it is not nice.

and! on this topic a user was complaining someone stole his BTC wallet address under different account.

this should never happen. we must not be required to contact support to resolve such issues, it must be automatic.

if I can sign a message with my wallet, than it is all the proof you need.

please, please consider implementing light accounts (no sign-up, just enter wallet address AND GO, then IF user needs additional protection, then just ask him to sign a message with his wallet, and only IF USER WANTS it, then offer ability to sign-up with e-mail).

sorry for my tone, but that was main reason I never used epay in the past, hopefully new management can make it all better.
6  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetSystem.com vs. FaucetHub.io on: November 15, 2016, 06:26:31 PM
This means I'll get some extra time to finish faucethub Smiley

no no no, hurry up

we don't want to end up with 20 competing microwallets, it's the worst situation for faucet users
7  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetBOX.com Discussion on: November 07, 2016, 01:11:43 PM
I think it's very bad day for faucet owners and users.

but I thank faucetbox for posting the announcement in advance.

other services just close with like 3-day notice, at least we can safely migrate in the timeframe provided!

I will always remember and love faucetbox!!!
8  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Paytoshi: Micropayments & Faucets on: November 07, 2016, 01:09:52 PM
So faucetbox is closing now.... Is paytoshi reliable? Would it be able to sustain the hundreds of faucets migrating to it?
+1
answer please

yes, paytoshi should get ready for lots of traffic lol
makes you wonder if they are ready for this

we shall see

It's not hard to write your own faucet from scratch, using json-rpc and running your own node.
I made a proof of concept which you can use to study how to do this, you can use the code as a basis if you wish:
https://github.com/mocacinno/simple_testnet_faucet

you are correct in theory, but not in practice

faucet have very low profit margins

running a full node requires a (somewhat good) VPS. even running an SPV wallet (electrum) requires a VPS.

most faucets are hosted on shared hostings instead, with no ability to install/run custom software.

it's cheaper and it what's get the work done.
10  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Popular 'provably fair' dice faucet box script... is hackable on: July 17, 2016, 11:31:09 AM
impressive research and respectable paper, with code to boot

don't have server farms, so will not run it Smiley

the question is: have you contacted the original author, have you proposed an improvement of his system (like: stop relying on date, or stop sending it), a pull request, etc?

17  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] PokéBits RPG Faucet Game: Earn up to 1,000+ Satoshi / Hour on: May 28, 2016, 06:53:58 AM
I know that's not what you had in mind...

but how about you expand your project to include actual pokemon capture/battles ? You can also add farm-like elements with egg breeding.

you don't have to implement THE WHOLE GAME, just let us have different pokemon and see their sprites would be super nice and would bring in people!

maybe you can make a "go to tall grass" button, have pokeballs for sale, etc.

please think about it, I love faucet-games and I like pokemon, it would be perfect Smiley

I'm actually working on being able to gather some pokemon from missions, I'll also try to incorporate getting them in other ways also. It would be nice to find someone who knows coding and would like to bring in some new game elements to the faucet. I do plan on expanding the faucet game more and more though!

I can't believe we actually have Pokemons now! thank you!

and are you really working on a battle system? will we be able to fight other people? Internet has been waiting for Pokemon MMORPG for years now, if you can really do it, you will be able to attract all kinds of players. Pokemon MMORPG + Satoshi as currency is something I never even dreamt of!

please keep up the good work, this is one of the only few faucet games I actually play those days. It's very addictive.

Changed next level experience on missions page to display current exp needed to level.

I don't like this change. it makes it harder to figure out your progress... please consider reverting it back Smiley

19  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: smashbtc.com - 1,000 satoshi per hour | 100% referral bonus on: May 11, 2016, 10:05:27 PM
woah, you actually received some explanation!

that's MUCH better than most other faucet owners get - they just get a ban, no explanation and that's it.

still, smashbtc is one the best sites around, i.e. forums, blogs, chat, news - if that's "not enough content", I don't know what is.

had 96k satoshi in there, but I don't mind losing them, because what's much more important (for the faucet community) is that smashbtc survives this.

good luck!
20  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone who can write linux terminal applications on: April 01, 2016, 12:22:49 AM
You probably want to describe what language could be used and such. You can pretty much develop and write Applications in any language and run it through the Terminal. Are you looking for a shell/Bash script ? Purely Linux ? That screen shot you posted is quite difficult to understand.

I would Imagine python would work well, not sure about bash though. The apps in the screenshots are unrelated from my idea, but they showcase some of the components needed: mainly a power bar controlled by arrow keys and the ability to automatically run a specific command based on information entered by a user. Windows support would be nice, but not if it costs much extra to implement.

PM sent. also you might want to describe problem domain a bit better, "run a specific command" can range from "ls" to "send spam to 300 emails" to anything really.
