Hello, does anyone know what the worst disadvantage is in having a masternode? I'd like to take advantage of the low prices of Desire and buy 1000 coins! Running on VPS is more interesting? I'm not a Linux user, so what would be the cheapest means to run on windows? Will Desire be profitable in the long run?

I did all the steps for the masternode, it says successfully started in the console, however I have a question. in the desire path there is a file named masternode.conf, inside the file, you need to add any line there?
It looks kinda like this:

I am getting message
Error: I could not see your service on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on port (9919)
Reason: Connection timed out
But I am getting same message when I am checking another port for different coin MN.
Looks like your port is not open. Did you forward port 9919 from your router? You can check from this site, too. https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/Finally, master node is now running, at least in the console: "Masternode successfully started!" Sentinel is also running without errors. After waiting 15-20 minutes status was changed from WATCHDOG_EXPIRED to ENABLED. What was the issue? I had to enable port forwarding on router. I though that it was open, but I tried that as a last option. Spend more time in trying to find password for it than doing actual port forwarding setup. Thank you all! |

This is disaster. I bought coins for MN, but for two days I can't make it to work. I can't pass Not capable masternode: Could not connect to xxx obstacle. I have: - Windows 10 - Desire Core version v0.12.2.1-ge537a31 (32-bit) - Sentinel release v1.1.0.1 (64-bit) I tried to setup it by following 2-3 manuals, but I didn't manage to make it to work. And then when nothing was working I was sending my coins back to exchange deleting wallet and conf folder and then doing every manual from the beginning. Was reading every last 30 pages on this thread. I was even following advice to send 10 DSR MN address, but that also didn't help. More than once fixing wallet with sentinel option #2, didn't help. Running Sentinel with all 3 ways. Sentinel is working, because it has connection with wallet. It knows when wallet is not fully synced. Rebuilding wallet index... I was trying to leave the wallet locked and to unlock it. Didn't help. Was checking are ports open and they are. Leaving MN for 24 hours in WATCHDOG_EXPIRED status, but nothing was changed. IP address in desire.conf and masternode.conf are the same and it is IP taken from www.whatismyip.comHere are screenshots where you can see my current situation. https://imgur.com/a/MuB0KI am now out of options. Which I guess means that port is open. Just to add that port is also open in firewall. And when I am starting wallet, MN is in status PRE_ENABLED. And after it finishes with synchronization MN will go to status WATCHDOG_EXPIRED. Those are the only two statuses that I was seeing! What do you do to start the masternode? I was starting the masternode from Masternode tab and from Console. Every time I will got message that MS is started successfully. But status will be "Not capable..." It seems you did everything right. Can you check if the port 9919 open at canyouseeme.org? Total coin supply is 1 billion for POW and that is set to run out over a 30 year time frame. The 1 billion supply does not include any of the standard POS or term deposits. On your inflation question, I've seen other coins doing well and some with much higher interest that ROI coin. A couple of examples would be Women Coin at about 1000% and 808 coin at 17% every 8.08 days. In the early stages the idea of this big term deposit is to encourage users to lock the coin which provides numerous advantages and also to build the initial coin supply in the market and raise the total market cap $ amount. Looking forward into the future the coin revolves around the community that supports it. Because of that it is always possible that at a future date the community may form a general consensus that the POS and/or the term deposit rates need to be reduced. If and when the community decides something like that the coin will then implement the will of its supporters. A comprehensive bounty program is in the works so stay tuned! Thank you for the reply. I have noticed this but it only seems to affect certain algos. I dropped roughly 60% in GPU hashrate for a cryptonote coin but there wasn't any appreciable drop when I switched to another coin. So I guess you'll need to trial and error. I am mining HUSH and with basic wallet setup I am getting ~20% loss of GPU hash rate. Is it possible to start wallet with parameter like use only 50% of CPU? And not 100% as it is now. |
