101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]F0ME - DEDICATED POS - 90% AIRDROP - 16 ROUNDS - REG NOW on: February 21, 2018, 12:50:14 AM

I cannot get the wallet to synchronize. just installed it. Any special conf file needed? Didn't find any on the OP.
Not as far as I know, it should synch. If it doesn't work in a while maybe you should speak with an admin on discord for real time responses

Ok, I will give it time until tomorrow. In another home which I have it synched with no problem. Now that I've tried to install the wallet somewhere else it doesn't give any signs of activity. So strange.

How many users have already setup a node? Just trying to figure out if I should try later today, once I am on my PC.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: : ⚡ [ANN] DeepONION ⚡ TOR ⚡ DeepVault ⚡ Cryptopia ✈️ Airdrops 32/40 New Thread ✈️ on: February 20, 2018, 03:29:01 PM
From this week the amount of Onions for the airdrop is going up, right?  Shocked

Yes, from week 32, the weekly airdrop increases by 50k to 300k

I think the amount of participants in airdrop are increasing rather fast, so don't expect a lot more coins in airdrop.
But it's important for coin distribution that we have as much as airdrop participants as possible.

Nice Smiley Well as long as it goes up a bit it is fine, I don't expect millions.
People should join now as long as they can.
You'll get 20% more starting this airdrop, it's true that the number participants is increasing rather fast but you'll absolutely notice that you'll be receiving more than the previous rounds.

I love this 20% increase starting from this round. What I don't understand is why the volumes are low on exchanges and the price is sliding right now...
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Girls in the world of crypto currency on: February 20, 2018, 03:13:51 PM
interesting question, I'm a girl, I'm 18 years old,I'm in the cryptocurrency the age of 17 (I'm more engaged in bounty) Young girls have never met, only from 25 years. I was brought to the crypto currency by my boyfriend

The other interesting insight we are getting from this thread is that many women/girls have been brought into cryptos by their boyfriends/husbands. Now, are there in this thread girls/women who can tell: "I have entered crypto on my own femalish initiative, not pushed by my husband/boyfriend?"
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Oligarchs on: February 20, 2018, 10:23:36 AM
When has this list been made? Because a few weeks ago when Ripple had peaked the news came out that Ripple's boss had become briefly more rich than Bill Gates - so I guess he would have been quite on top of this list. But things change very fast in cryptos...
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Girls in the world of crypto currency on: February 20, 2018, 10:20:51 AM

I'm a girl, and yes, I do not deny that my husband sent me to the crypto currency. at first it was difficult, but now after half a year I'm already fine in the topic! and girls in this business can be much better than men! Smiley Wink

Yes, Julia, meanwhile you are becoming one of the best known women on Bitcointalk Smiley The question is how many other women are here. Just out of curiosity it would be nice to have some statistics on this, but I guess that's not feasible.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin $20k by July according to Tom Lee on: February 20, 2018, 10:16:54 AM
I think it is totally impossible to make reasonable forecast of Bitcoin's future price right now. Once Bitcoin will have breaken thought the downwards channel in which it's entrapped on the charts - THEN and only then we will be able to make reasonable forecast. Before, it's just random guessing.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if this guy with 96,651 BTC suddenly cashes out? on: February 19, 2018, 04:12:42 PM
If any of the big whales would suddenly cash out, Bitcoin's price could get quite a big hit. However, it is not in their interest to do it, since this way they would get far less cash than by selling slowly. On the other side, some super-whale could have the precise purpose to crash the prices so that he can buy the coins back cheaper. By the way, I guess this scenario has already occurred a number of times, perhaps even recently.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Ethereum" founder warns cryptocurrencies ‘could drop to near-zero at any time’ on: February 19, 2018, 04:05:41 PM
This simply shows that Vitalik has kept a very good sense of the reality, because what he says is completely true, even though so many of the bitcoin's tribe are in denial of that. Don't misunderstand me: I am heavily invested in Bitcoin and altcoins myself. But I perfectly know what I am risking.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oh crap! What happened to bitcoins? on: February 19, 2018, 04:01:16 PM
Oh crap! What happened to bitcoins? They were $6000 just a few days ago and now they are $11,000. Oh dear, I am sooo scared now Wink

this will happen again in the future and the price will be up and down too often and makes people confused. but if we can analyze where the price will move, then I think we can buy at low price and sell when the price is move up. I think if you can analyze the price, you don't have to be scared and you can stay calm whenever the price is up and down. but if you still scared, then I think you don't have to buy bitcoin and only wait the price is high so you can sell your bitcoin.

I will tell you a secret, but promise not to reveal it to anyone, otherwise the fun would be lost: I was joking Wink
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy when market is Red on: February 19, 2018, 10:10:22 AM
This is what I tend to do myself, however this violates the old trading mottos "The trend is your friend" and "Don't try to catch a falling knife". Buying then the market is red is good if that's just a dip. If it turns out it's a trend, then that's a real mess.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of cryptopia! If possible please help! on: February 19, 2018, 09:44:50 AM
I don't have any information to help you but you should certainly consider not making titles such as that. Originally I thought there was some malicious intent on Cryptopia's part, not cool dude not cool at all. You made a mistake, so you should own it. Don't blame others for your mistake, that is petty in my opinion. I hope you get your funds back, but I also hope you don't arbitrarily blame others. Thanks chief Smiley

I agree that your title is very wrong. Cryptopia may have its own questionable problems, but in this specific case it is your mistake to have not secured your email enough. With such a title you suggest that there is some specific wrongdoing of the part of Cryptopia, which I would now say it is not the case.

115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why aren't there more women in Bitcoin? on: February 19, 2018, 09:36:37 AM
Women are much smarter than men, so: why to make the effort to learn how to make profit with bitcoin, when they can smile to a man :-)

OK, just kidding. Women usually don't like trading because is too much like a videogame, and usually you stay alone in front of the monitor.
But I know some women that are fantastic forex trader, because they mix competence with female intuition, and have very good results.

That might be the reason why there isn't that many women in Bitcoin. Women like to spend money more than making it.

A remark: Women like to make men make money for them. And the funny fact is, it works!

It's an old story which started millions of years ago, and the proof is that men have on average more muscles than women or anyway their muscles produce more force, which proves that women don't really need a lot of muscles if they cans use the ones of the men for the crucial things like finding food, making money or moving a furniture.
Note: Muscles were very useful in the past to provide food, I have to mention that for those who spend too much time in front of their computers and would never suspect something like that.

haha, so true! unfortunately I don't think many of the residents of this forum are fit and muscled guys. Unfortunately too many people now think of their body only as a means of transportation for their head and other pleasure-delivering parts ))) Let's see, do you think there are are less or more fit hot guys in the crypto community than women? Who is a bigger minority? lol =)

You may have quite a point here, but I can assure you that you would be surprised of a few notable exceptions, and even exceptions filled like a matrioska with more exceptions. By the way, you forgot to mention which in your imagination is the average age of this unfit men who forgot to grow muscles Wink

@LeonardoDiCrypto, as your name hints, do you consider yourself as one of these "few notable exceptions"? I'm sure there are "outliers"  but they can be neglected to have a better predictive model =) Let's see what can I reply to your question. I think the average age of these men is hm, 25? What's your bet?

My bet on the average age is the same, around 25, but, you see, now here you have the first exception - I am twice that age, and then - oh wonder - I'm even reasonably fit. And there you can start to spot the smell of matrioska exceptions Cheesy
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Bitcore- BTX - SEGWIT - lowest fee - hybrid fork 1:0.5 of Bitcoin on: February 19, 2018, 09:11:57 AM
Cryptopia is terribly slow. I waited 26 hours for my BTX to be transfered from Cryptopia to wallet.  Roll Eyes
Now I'm mining directly to wallet.

it's not btx fault. cryptopia has some issues not btx

Can confirm this. Yesterday I have made four withdrawals but only one went through. Meanwhile more than 24h have passed but BTX and EMC2, both are pending. A private transaction, sent to a friend, was there after seconds.BTX rocks but avoid this crap exchange

I too had to wait 24 hours for the withdrawal of another coin to go through on Cryptopia, Totally surreal. And quite uncomfortable, especially if you happen to need the coins for some reason.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitwatcher - Watch multiple cryptocurrencies on different exchange markets on: February 14, 2018, 12:12:08 AM
1 - Actually we already got this feature Smiley You can just add your favorite coins to "my watch" by touching their checkbox on the left. For example, you only want Bitcoin on Bitfinex and Binance, you can just select them in Bitcoin menu. Then you will only see them on "My Watch". So this "My Watch" is your favorite coins with your favorite exchange market Smiley

2 - We are looking for adding more coins. We got Bitcoin Cash in our mind for now. But we want to add coins which are useful for frequent watch. So coin suggestions are also welcome Smiley

1 - Didn't realise that! Really nice feature. Well done.

2 - This is obviously most useful for people who want to arbitrage. With that in mind, coins that are fast and cheap to transfer are probably the best ones to add next - LTC, XLM, XRB for example.

Very nice app. I am happy to have stumbled in this thread. I will play with your app to see if I can find some arbitrage to do and then come back.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the classroom, yes or no and why? on: February 14, 2018, 12:09:17 AM
This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?
the goal in class is to teach something. if it is math, then you should teach math. if i count with apples or satoshis is not important, but the focus should be on learning math not on learning bitcoin.

I totally agree with this point. You could even try something exotic and mix bitcoins with apples, or ask the kids things like "how many bitcoins do you need to buy an apple?" and regardless of what the kids answer you then tell them one day 0.00005 BTC and 0.00007 on the other day.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: J.P. Morgan, BOA and Citigroup - credit card blockade! on: February 14, 2018, 12:01:56 AM
I guess that all these news are releases only for reasons of market manipulations. Maybe these giants just want to buy cheap coins. Who knows. However, the problem of people buying bitcoins on credit, with money that they don't have, in the US is a real problem.
120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Governments Might Join the Cryptocurrency Craze on: February 13, 2018, 11:59:23 PM
I think governments would use cryptocurrencies especially because they can be traced very well, and they love total control over what their populations are doing. When they'll adopt them, it will be very much different than now.
