Hello all. I want to set up a NFL survivor pool, I am checking here for interest before I finalize anything.

What is a NFL survivor pool?

A survivor pool is a type of game where each week of the football season you pick one team that you think is a "sure thing" to win. All you need is for that team to win the money line, no point spreads. However, you can only pick the same team once. If your pick loses you are eliminated from the pool. The pool will have a winner when there is only one person remaining. In the event there is more than 1 person left after 16 regular season games, playoff picks will be used. If everything is tied after the super bowl, the pool is split amongst the remaining players.

What is the entry fee?
How about .1 btc to keep this accessible for people who don't want to risk much.

How do you know I won't dissappear with the BTC?
We can set up John K escrow. All payouts will be minus fees for escrow/transactions.

What is the payout structure?
80% of pool winnings to last person remaining
14% second place
4% third place
2% to me for organization, keeping track of picks.

Any interest? Post here with suggestions.

All I see on the first page is "We will have a prototype built very soon. Stay tuned for updates and photos.", is that the latest?
109  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] - GROUP BUY of BITFURY Chips + DRILLBIT SYSTEM mining assembly on: August 19, 2013, 05:13:53 AM
Is there a working prototype yet? If so, do you have a video of it hashing?

I am getting this error when trying to log in:
"Access temporarily denied."

Not sure why, I don't think there would be any sort of problem with my account.
111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 18, 2013, 12:53:31 AM
I wonder if their engineers went to DeVry U? Or maybe just photoshopped those diplomas as well? I feel bad for people with pre-orders that haven't received what they payed for, but anyone that orders this... as Gob would say CMON ON!

 Huh Huh Huh Huh

116  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: eBay Bitcoin USB Block Erupter/Blade Scammer Alert Thread! on: August 15, 2013, 02:16:42 PM
Scammer: gsk_wood (ebay id)

Did a chargeback on a whopping 0.05 btc sale (before I realized how selling btc for paypal is a HORRIBLE idea). If he is willing to scam for such a small amount of $, I'm sure he would jump at the chance to scam for something big. He has 23 feedback but has never left feedback for anyone else.
117  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Difficulty Increase Insurance on: August 14, 2013, 12:09:12 AM
The problem I have with these insurances is guaranteeing the insuring party will have sufficient capital to pay in the event required. That is why I wish there was a way to directly short BTC, I think this would help both those long and short BTC.

119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Credit Cards, secured payments and what you as buyers should be looking for... on: August 13, 2013, 04:21:01 PM
SUMMARY as it will be read by outsiders.

The bitcoin community should not use bitcoins for payments.

Why would anyone pre-order in bitcoins anyways. You mine with the assumption the price is going up....

However, if no one is willing to readily spend their BTC it will be hard for a large scale adoption to take place. We don't want people hoarding BTC.

I do agree with OP though, CC seems to be the way to go if you want to gamble on pre orders; glad to see this stickied.
120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Credit Cards, secured payments and what you as buyers should be looking for... on: August 13, 2013, 01:40:50 PM
Sound advice. +1

However if you do pay with CC and do not pay the balance immediately in full, be ready to pay interest charges (10-30%APR! in the US, not sure about elsewhere). Any refund you eventually receive will be less this interest.
