101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] eMunie: Some general news and 100% Anonymity on: August 11, 2013, 07:08:10 PM

Regardless of if I succeed or not, at least I'm actually attempting it instead of just blabbering on about it for 13 months.

The coin was released well before block 200 cuz i got several of the 10k blocks

We can actually pin this down. How much hashrate did you point at goldcoin, if you can remember.

The 10k blocks did last until the 19th hour, when the network hashrate spiked and the number of blocks per hour went from 400 or less to nearly 3000.

Kelsey, it is important to the value of the coin (because it impacts the number in circulation), but it should not be a reflection on the current dev team if they didn't have a part in it. Do you know if there is a block explorer running for GLD?

You got your wish, yet you continue to perpetuate this "association" with your accusations and false claims. Wouldn't your time be more productively spent working on the advancement of Nibble?

..

I agree with a lot of things kelsey is saying. The term scamcoin is passed around far too often, but these really aren't false claims.

5 hours after the genesis block was mined, 115 blocks were mined at a difficulty of 0.00024414 minting 1,150,000 (one-million, one-hundred fifty-thousand) goldcoins. This was a premine, as it was another 4 hours before any more coins were mined. That's not a debatable opinion. It is a fact.

At hour 9 after the genesis block, 7 blocks were solved for 70,000 coins. The difficulty is still 0.00024414, meaning that these blocks were not mined by the usual hoard of early miners. It is highly unlikely that the coin had been released at this point.

At hour 10, 260 blocks were solved, minting 963,323 coins. The network hashrate is still only 0.08 MH/s and the difficulty is still 0.00024414. Now you can make your own decision there, but this coin does not appear to have been released yet.

The network hashrate does not break 1 MH/s until hour 19 after the genesis block, which is likely when the coin was released to the rest of the miners. By hour 19, 4,129,000,000 goldcoin had been produced. You can look at the block count over those first 19 hours and see that most of the 10,000 coin blocks were mined by whatever small group of people was mining the coin before the public release.

Everyone should feel free to invest in GLD if they like the coin. That's none of my business nor is it anyone else's business, but it would be misleading to suggest that none of this premining occurred.

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dying coins on: August 01, 2013, 04:49:06 PM
as far as i know although its not confirmed, they are to be made into a coin mixing service but somehow unspendable, e.g. in the coin's code it somehow works like this: coins are sent to a specified address and that address auto sends some new coins back, although i am not sure. Cgminer should work with tenebrix although i cannot confirm it myself since i dont have a gpu to mine. Although as some people have heard im working on a new tenebrix client as the old one wont work at all, to allow people to solo mine and if all goes to plan add it to my pool collection and allow people to pool mine, i also until a few weeks ago had tenebrix included in my IRC faucet bot in the #crypto-expert, #digitalcoin, #bytecoin, #tenebrix channels for people to get various free coins

EDIT: im sure you all can see on my various pools that i dont even have a hashrate listed, all i make my money from is pool fees and the trading of these fees

i use cgminer to mine tenebrix

So your the one who's been pushing the difficulty up recently.

no i stopped mining it when the diffuculty dropped last time and someone jumped all over it.

It is really a shame - it seems like a innovative currency and idea.  However, the key to a new currency is a clean launch.  It will be a disaster between the huge pre-mine snd the closed source.  Just a waste of time.

No this is only a key to a new currency in this community. And the idea here is to not market emunie to this community.  To think if this community doesnt accept it will fail is completely stupid and you think way to highly of yourself.
I think this community is probably the easiest one to adopt a new crypto currency, if even we don't adopt it, I really think it will be nearly impossible to get enough others on the ship of emunie.

But I don't know everything, I see alt-coins as a great thing for new ideas. I guess totally different marketing is also an idea, you guys have the luck average Joe doesn't care about open or closed source, sha-256, scrypt, primes, etc.

I guess since im an average Joe and cant read a lick a code it dont matter to me if its open source or not.  Maybe i am the only one that feels this way.  ive spent enough time on the Emunie forum to believe it will not be a scam.  If im wrong in the end Ive lost nothing but a little time and whatever i decide to invest.  Not a big deal.  From what ive seen and read  im willing take a risk on it.

Im sorry is this section of the forum only for alternate cryptocurrencies that are open source?
You have a link to "ripple is scam" in your signature.

And as of now I dont believe that the developers are going to premine an unfair amount to dump for themselves.  If they do ill be more then happy to eat my words.

So why post here at all.
Go away to your magic forest where all people love you, and stop bullshitting us.

It will be the first digital currency to have integrated decentralised exchange right inside the client. Dan (the developer) is currently working on first beta client to handle basic transactions, integrated exchange is scheduled to be released soon on second phase if I'm correct.

I was pretty enthusiastic before I realized its being released as closed source. Game over. No need for a Ripplescam-2.

Wtf? closed source?

See, I was going to support the coin but if it's closed source I have second thoughts.

Im sure eMunies fucked if your not going to support it. Roll Eyes
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eMunie on: July 20, 2013, 01:29:38 AM
There are hundreds of Beta versions released. But there is no mining benefit for miners (beta testers get always 0 coins)

Who cares if you get coins or not hatching while its in beta?
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 18, 2013, 06:21:45 AM

You haters, get ready to have God drop your sorry coins to the bottom of the dung pile and light them on fire, csuse I tried nothing but honesty and generosity and some of you, like animals did nothing but mock me and try To kill my coin while making me look like a scammer.  I'm coming for you - God help me so!  Amin and Amin.

So theres starving children all over the world and your god is going to  "drop our sorry coins to the bottom of the dung pile and light them on fire" instead of feeding the starving chlildren?
awesome
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 18, 2013, 05:05:32 AM
250 blocks is like, 3 minutes or less, even if blocks come at only one per second, which is slow for an instamined-coin launch, that is far far far from being a "fair launch".

Unless the difficulty has been set properly?

I saw no mention of a reasonable start difficulty thus one can expect four blocks per second at lauch, a massive orphan-fest.

Will the 21 blocks average time between blocks change of difficulty be able to get it up to correct target time between blocks within only 250 blocks?

-MarkM-

i think it took about 24 hours to get to block 250.   it actually seemed pretty fair instamine wise, but mining for 24 hours for a 0 block reward wasnt for me

No no, that was from the totally broken everything, almost no one bothered to mine.

Of course paying zero is likely part of what is broken about it, but in general paying less for the first few minutes seldom stopped instamining from happening at four blocks a second or so, all it did was make people try to go through even more blocks per second to get to the minute the payouts would reach normal.

This thing was so utterly broken who the heck even bothered to compile or download a client for it let alone actually tried to mine it?

Almost no-one, that is why it was taking so long per block. Though I do not recall what the difficulty actually started at? maybe it was a tiny token bit above zero like other scams that like to pretend they "tried" to do it right?

-MarkM-

It did start at just above 0. After the 21st block the difficulty changed after every block. By the time it got to block 50 i think it had a difficulty of 2. And with block reward of 0 and the little hashing power i have i lost all interest.
