101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: August 20, 2018, 10:50:28 AM
@whotheff answers to your questions:

1. The jsecoin.com domain is currently a single point of failure. All the publisher traffic goes through it and it's used for the platform miners as well, all be it a subdomain and separate nodes. The vast majority of traffic goes through the Google load balancer that handles that domain name and then splits it off in different directions. If the website died then this wouldn't affect the publisher or platform system because they are separate. If that domain got hacked/stolen etc. then we would have to either figure out how to get it back or register a new domain and rebrand or something along those lines. It wouldn't be a good scenario. We will always need a point of discovery for the network, to mitigate risk however at a later stage it would be beneficial to divide this into multiple access points around the globe, perhaps even owned and managed by partners.

2. If you believe that Ethereum is real decentralzation or decentralized enough to meet your criteria then we will be fully integrating the ERC20 functionality in October so users can hold tokens in 3rd party wallets on Ethereums blockchain, transfer between wallets, deposit/withdraw to and from the platform. With the JSE network we need more volume before we open up the client-side consensus (end goal). We currently have around 20,000 concurrent active connections at any one time which wouldn't be enough to prevent a 51% attack from a large bot net. We could use the interim solution at any point which is actually coded and ready to go. Currently the nodes use trusted ECDSA signatures to prevent attacks but we could turn this off by changing one variable in the code base which would enable a standard consensus system using the node servers. We would need some incentive to 3rd parties to run the nodes and at enough scale to prevent abuse, PoS or something like that. Ideally I'd like to see the network get a huge influx of publisher traffic when we list on exchange and tokens become tradeable and hold a USD value. Then we can start work on rolling out the webRTC network in stages. It'll be a slow process and something we need to do lots of testing with. We have already run tests it in a local environment but this is very different to a real world scenario where funds are at stake. The client-side consensus algorithm will be up and running securely throughout the network in 2019, exact date I wouldn't like to say until we are closer to a finished product.

Hi wimlem, thanks I've forwarded this on to the developer who is working on the mobile apps. Should have a new build out over the next couple of days.

migiz, yeah we couldn't have timed it worse really with the market downturn. We are still hoping the markets and ICO pick up but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't. I believe in the long term future of the project and cryptocurrency in general. Bear markets are only temporary if cryptocurrency is going to go mainstream one day and take over from government controlled fiat currencies. With regards to funding we still have the option of VC funding further down the line. We wont be able to afford the $2m+ listing fees for Binance or Bittrex in the short term but even if we'd hit hard cap this probably wouldn't have been justifiable. The funds we have had in could be valued at a much higher amount by the end of the ICO and if the markets start to rise, investor sentiment will increase alongside of it so fingers crossed it will pick up sooner rather than later. We are going to be proactive and continuing to build awareness around the project regardless. Good point on the videos, these have slowed down since the ICO started. We will try and get some more out there. We have some pre-recorded AMA's as well but if anyone has any questions they would like us to answer then please go ahead and we will do some new ones.

Diemhb1994, sure bounty program is listed in full on the bounty page of the platform at https://platform.jsecoin.com, you can use the form to submit and all the terms are on there too. Be quick because they go out weekly and this weeks will go out tomorrow  Smiley

Hi Viyppister, yes that app is the official one. You can find the links on the download page if not sure at any time: https://jsecoin.com/downloads/

Here's a token ecosystem map we done for the recent announcement on the Ad exchange: https://jsecoin.com/the-jse-ad-exchange/

Viyppister, the tokens are locked until after the ICO. I'm not familiar with the Exodus wallet but if it works with ERC20 tokens then it should be fine.

Dreykku, I checked and you have 3 bounties pending for Facebbook, Twitter and Bitcointalk. These look fine and will go out Monday/Tuesday.

Thank you xyburcoin, it's been a huge year for the project. Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past 12 months.

Dart_veider, sounds like something is blocking it. What country are you in and are you using any antivirus or ad blockers? Try https://server.jsecoin.com and https://load.jsecoin.com as well as that might highlight what is causing the issue.

Daimhussain, thank you!

Hi Kren,

I'll take your comments on board and we will review the pricing structure for the bounty program. It's been a month now so we will make assessments on what is working, what is not and adjust it accordingly to protect the valuation.

Dart_Veider, seems to be working fine here. Are you getting any errors?

Whotheff, love it!

Sadly I can't afford to purchase as many JSEcoin as I've mined, but I did come up with $130ish to invest. It fails to compare with what my network of sites has mined but hopefully it helps the project succeed!

As a very large website publisher I don't plan to dump my JSEcoin when the markets first open, I'd personally rather wait/pray the price goes up then take a short lived cashout of .005 per coin or whatever the price ends up being. Hopefully the other large publishers like myself that do hold a lot of JSEcoin will also do the same as we will benefit much more in the long run if it succeeds as we need a viable alternative to google adsense to generate revenue for websites.

Thank you Idosha!

Blockchain-man, not sure I fully understand the question but regarding security we use a password, optional 2 factor authentication and pin number on the platform and private key/public key ECDSA on the network.

Dreykku, Monday, is generally when we run the bounties. Sometimes this rolls over to Tuesday if we are tied up with something else.

luca1073 daily uniques is the number of unique visitors a website receives, daily opt-ins is the number of those users who are either already opted-in to the network or click the continue button to start mining

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: August 08, 2018, 05:14:13 AM
It's a good point Gameron. In theory as the number of publishers increases, exposure to the project will increase alongside it and price on exchange should increase. This means each publisher will be earning less JSE individually but the tokens they earn will be worth more compared to USD/BTC etc. This is a generalization though and as everyone knows pricing of cryptocurrency can be very volatile and not necessarily related to a individual projects merits.

We do have the option to adjust the number of rewards per block and the value of mining rewards at any point and we have adjusted them in the past (not since last year) to balance out supply and demand. This is something we are reluctant to do too frequently because everyone is happy when the rewards go up but to reduce them would cause a negative backlash.

Currently for most medium sized websites there are enough rewards going out that their daily earnings wont fluctuate due to variance. If the project grows to the size we hope and we have millions of websites then both the earnings for smaller publishers and also the self-mining rewards, assuming we have more self-miners as well, will become more like a traditional lottery where the rewards are higher valued but much less frequent. I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing, psychologically lotteries provide high perceived value and are popular across the globe.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: August 07, 2018, 06:49:14 AM
Gameron, the algorithm that works to distribute lottery tickets is based on unique opted in visitors so the rewards are distributed more to sites with more visitors and less to sites with few visitors. The advantage of the system is that we can have a fixed amount of rewards distributed each day and these are divided as fairly as possible between the webmasters.

rtvk1971, we set up the charity@jsecoin.com account so people can test transactions etc. All the funds are currently being stored in that account and it's building up quite a lot. You can see the totals in the blockchain explorer at https://blockchain.jsecoin.com/#/Stats (currently 4m JSE). At some point we want to set up a peer voted distribution of these funds so the community can vote on which registered charities get donations each month. We will be distributing it slowly and not until at least 6 months after the primary exchange listing so it doesn't affect token pricing.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: August 06, 2018, 04:59:55 AM
habalka, no transactions are not reversible.

rtvk1971, not sure I understand what happened here. To what address did you send the tokens.

Regarding IP addresses, this can sometimes be if someone signs up from a school or office where there is already an active user. Or it could be someone setting up a second account if they forgot their login credentials or something.

Luca1073, yes duplicate referral just means that someone has already registered from that IP so an affiliate commission isn't paid. For example if someone registers twice or two people register from the same IP address or via VPN/Proxy then referrals aren't paid to prevent fraud.

just_strange32, the big thing is going to be exchange listing and making the token as easy as possible to convert to local currencies like USD/EUR etc. It's quite hard for us to convince ecommerce merchants to accept a token that has no tradeable value presently. Luckily we've had some early adopters that believe in the project set up the merchant payments on their sites which we are very grateful for.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] [AIRDROP] JSECOIN - https://jsecoin.com on: August 02, 2018, 03:50:14 AM
@taxmanmt5 Yes we process all bounties and ambassador payments each Monday. Sometimes this roles over until Tuesday. But the cutoff is generally each Monday and payments go out within 24 hours.

With regards to the airdrop this was completed on the 4th July and is now closed.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: July 31, 2018, 08:51:50 AM
@Sachincool2019 The airdrop finished on the 4th July I'm afraid.

@wimlem - the last week has been a bit slow. Which is strange because it was ramping up and then dropped off last week. I think a lot of investors are waiting as long as possible to invest so the next big flurry of investments will come just before the 11th August before we reduce the bonus amount to 8%.

We had our first paid press release published at https://cryptovest.com/news/jsecoin-turns-browsers-into-crypto-mining-tool/

We should have another one going out on CCN soon.

Social ads are now running on Facebook and Twitter. Facebook's reopening of crypto ads couldn't have come at a better time. There are rumors of Google following suit which would be great too.

@devinphp, try refreshing the browser or restarting the app/device. Does that solve the issue?
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] JSEcoin on: July 28, 2018, 06:23:16 AM
The hard cap is ambitious no doubt about that, especially as the crypto markets are in a bit of a lull. Pricing will only increase over the course of the ICO due to the drop in bonus percentage. Any unsold tokens at the end of the ICO will be sent back to the distribution account. At that time we will make a decision as to whether to burn a proportion of the tokens (increasing everyone's percentage stake in the company) or sit on them and potentially use in the future for mining distributions/referral payments etc.
