101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to mine Bitcoin Gold? on: November 10, 2017, 02:03:11 PM
Even though I am a veteran in trading, I am an absolute newbie in mining related matters. I have never tried to mine because my laptop is very old with Intel i3 processor. However, I have recently purchased a new gaming laptop with i7 processor, 12 GB ram and 4 GB DDR5 graphics card. It is still on the way and probably will receive it within another 4 days. I am planning to mine Bitcoin Gold which are going to be created after the upcoming hard fork.

Can anyone please help me with a step-by-step guide of bitcoin gold mining. I need to know from the beginning as I have no idea about mining.

Thanks in advance!

Bitcoin Gold mining profitable if I start now? I live in Florida, power is not cheap here.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Mining vs Buying on: November 10, 2017, 03:53:15 AM
In my country its not profitable to do mining specially mining bitcoin the equipment is very expensive and the electricity rate here is also high so we prefer here buying bitcoin. Though there are some that are taking risk maybe they don't pay electricity bill for some reason.

I would go with buying.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it good time to buy. on: November 09, 2017, 03:46:16 PM
Hi experts

is there any fork or segwit..after November 15...

I would explore Altcoins at this time.
104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BTC Segwit2X called off. Whats NEXT if chain capacity increases on: November 09, 2017, 02:05:09 PM
Chain capacity increases over time  so Segwit2x or a similar upgrade will likely to take place some time in near future for sure. any insight you might have?
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x is dead, long live Bitcoin on: November 09, 2017, 01:44:23 AM
Just another failed attack on anti-fragile Bitcoin, furthering it's resilience and robustness.

Segwit2x is dead, long live Bitcoin!

I do not know why everyone is saying is dead, they said the cancelled the hardfork, does that mean is dead.  According to what I had been reading and what they have said is they cancelled due to a consensus in the bitcoin community.  Also we do not know if this was a manipulation event as well, there are alot of factors and I think people looking at this one sided is quite funny.  At least now we know that bitcoin will be able to get upgraded to the lighting network much sooner thanks to segwit.
Segwit2x team says,
"While this fork won’t happen, SegWit is here to stay. So let’s see if companies and developers are going to take advantage of SegWit in the coming months."

Proposals for on-chain scaling aren't dead per say, just this one. A block size increase is after all still on the roadmap for if and when it gains widespread consensus. I like Pieter Wuille's Bip 103 (https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0103.mediawiki)  of the 5 remaining open drafts.

Thing is, until Segwit is fully utilized and https://bitcoincore.org/en/2017/03/23/schnorr-signature-aggregation/  along with LN are implemented, a hard fork isn't likely to gain the widespread consensus needed.

SegWit proposal did helped surge BTC over last 2 months.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to get involved into Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2017, 12:35:09 AM
Hey everyone
I was mining just for fun when in 2013/14 mining with a gpu was still viable. Since that day im wondering if it is too late to get involved in bitcoin even though I stopped thinking about it for a few years since I was about 15 years old with different things on my mind. Just recently I began wondering again: Is it too late to get involved in bitcoin? After the price blew up in 2014 I asked me the same thing and thought the hype is over and I am just too late. Even if bitcoin is a bubble and each bitcoin is overvalued who can safely tell when the bubble is going to pop if it ever will? I just think this is an awesome project with an equally awesome community despite the weird things in the altcoin section that tend to become more and more popular due to "weird" people picking up on the bitcoin hype caused by media and the increased internet awareness. Im talking about projects like "bigboobscoin" which is topped by some emojis in the title. Since I came along this project I want to own one of the 21M bitcoins to ever be created. In addition bitcoin has something magical to it which I cant put in words but the fact that satoshi never got identified gives me this feeling of a revolution of currency with the right intension. He never pulled out his round about 1 million btc. Well who knows maybe Satoshi is dead by now and his btc will never be touched. Bitcoin came out of the mind of a genious and is so much more worth than only "going to the moon".

Im just wondering if bitcoin and its community still got the same spirit or have the weird people and rich investors overtaken to ruin this project by treating it like a pump and dump shitcoin without a soul?
I hope my english is good enough to make you understand my thoughts and feelings.

Have a nice day.

bitcoin is still have a long way to go so it is not late yet and it is better to get involved earlier that later and we see its value increase every year so do not hesitate.

Can't agree better!

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best Altcoins to accumulate in 2018? on: November 08, 2017, 10:16:59 PM
I think SpectreCoin(XSPEC) is good choice and it's worth closer look. Small cap, small amount of coins and great community. Do your own research about that Smiley
I also recommend you to invest in syscoin - solid team, roadmap and product.

Thank you for your inputs. Keep coming!
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How profitable it is to set up masternodes? on: November 08, 2017, 09:20:06 PM
Have you ever tried to set up Dash masternodes? If so, then how profitable it is to set up one?

Will I be able to ROI fast, or will it take quite some time? Just asking because I've been curious about this as I will likely get started with Dash masternodes later this week. Right now, Dash prices have been declining, so it would make it a great opportunity to buy some cheap Dash and meet up with the minimum amount needed in order to run a masternode.

Any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley

I just set up masternode for Monero and MonacoCoin. Its good. I want to get into setting up more new and high potential coins. Any recommendations?
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Mining vs Buying on: November 08, 2017, 09:00:44 PM
If I were you I would buy Bitcoin. In my opinion it is the most profitable option right now. GPU mining is no longer as profitable as it was and it is hard to get an ASIC. By investing in BTC you can try to trade or earn from hardforks (however not all of them might happen which SegWit2x showed us).

Setting up masternodes is another option for passive income.

I wonder what is going to happen to the Bitcoin's price when the Chinese people wake up?
We need to wait a few more hours if I'm not mistaken?

They will dump BTC as there is no free B2X money.
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 08, 2017, 08:32:31 PM
SegWit2x dropped from $1400 to $180 within minutes https://coincodex.com/crypto/segwit2x/ lol, dunno why people still buy at this moment lol
they are still traded  at 100 dollar...people are speculating about a fake news.
is there any real prove that this is valid??? seems that there is just a posted mail...could be fake, mail could have been hacked etc.
I want a twitter message from anybody involved. pls help me.

Is it cancelled or postponed?

BTC will fall immediately after SegWit2X on Nov 17th. Get in after the fork.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is falling, But don't worry! on: November 08, 2017, 07:52:57 PM
We should not worry about bitcoin falling down. It is still a volatile investment but one thing is sure it always goes up over time. Just in Jan it was $900 !!! The price will always go up as there is limited supply of bitcoin. So don't worry just chill and relax.

Bet on Altcoins too. Play safe!
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best Altcoins to accumulate in 2018? on: November 08, 2017, 07:44:41 PM
I think ethereum is the best coin for long term investment. It really has a good future.

Ethereum is already surged to 300. Whats the price projection for 2018 according to you?

10 years ago Forbes magazine was prasing Nokia boss for it´s billion customers.
Now where is Nokia? maybe some 18y/o guy who trades BTC doesn´t even know what Nokia is...
So will BTC be anywhere 10 years from now? or would it have been replaced for something better and more inovative?

Forbes cover:

I think BTC will continue to reach new levels every year but federal govts may not accept it as a form of currency officially.
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Futures Price on: November 07, 2017, 11:19:30 PM
My bet is that is gonna hit 8000$ before going down again, and it will hit 10k $ by the end of the year.

It will reach 8k before B2X split.
120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You only lose if... on: November 07, 2017, 10:47:10 PM
You only lose if you invest in shitcoins for too long, or you invest in a good coin and sell before it goes to the moon and you just did not had the patience. You also lose if you don't buy when the time is right but you were too afraid.

Exactly, buying and selling in a wrong time is the some reasons why we are in losing point. Even an experienced trader can suffer through this if we dont have discipline and let our emotion to control.

BTC will surge to 8k levels early next week before B2X split. We still have time for not to lose but dont put all your money in one go!
