101  Local / Regional Languages (India) / Re: Tamil community on: August 02, 2019, 06:32:00 PM
I can only see other kind of of regional in Indian local board but where are the Tamil people guys?

Most are lurking around the English speaking community, as many of them (like me) don't know Tamil typing Tongue
But we can show that we are here.

No need to type in tamil, just go with tanglish or google indic key board which made tamil type writing so easy.
102  Local / India / Re: V. G. Siddhartha - CCD founder Dead - Could Crypto have saved him? on: August 02, 2019, 04:29:05 PM
However, I too feel that the topic doesn't belong here. I would have been better if posted in Off-topic (India)
Most of the topics in this boards need to be trashed or moved to the off topic but lack of moderators made us stagnant of topics.

Anyway this topic some what related to economics but India board doesn't have economic section so better to talk in the main board rather than burying it under off topic.
103  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Bank called me and offered a credit card! on: August 02, 2019, 03:18:03 PM
Anyone? Roll Eyes

Investors says credit card will keep you poor and also will affect cibil scores?

Definitely not true. Credit cards come with a lot of advantages as well as drawbacks. It totally depends on the way you use it. If you are a shop-alcoholic or someone who cannot control his urge to buy that latest phone or watch in the market then you should maintain your distance from credit card. But if you manage your finances well then credit cards can be an easy way to secure short term loans at zero interest rates. Credit cards also have other benefits such as reward points and they are fraud free. I know of cases where people use their credit cards actively and then use the points to get international airline tickets for free. Also, the liability in case of fraud is zero if you report any instance of fraud within 3 days of incident. So, credit cards can also be good. Obviously, if you don't pay back the dues on time and default on payments then it will affect your CIBIL score.
I am very good at financial management, only my loan is on the car which also paid at the right time every month that is why bank called me for this offer.

But in long term this is an attempt to make us shopcholic or something.

Anyway I am going to apply for it but will keep it as only for emergency use.
104  Local / India / Re: V. G. Siddhartha - CCD founder Dead - Could Crypto have saved him? on: August 02, 2019, 08:04:03 AM
Yes, crypto would add a whole new dimension of scrutiny and investigation so it would have probably saved him a few months and he would have committed suicide earlier.

Sheesh, what a useful topic.

Could crypto save flood victims? Could crypto save endangered species? Could crypto save Bernie Madoff?
Yes it can save flood victims because they have all of their money on their moile itself,so they no need to take any money or cheques at that time. Tongue

If you remember the game bluewhale you cannot say you never heard ban on games, most countries banned that game.

I dont remember this game specifically,
The game bluewhale was designed by psycho and it is task completion game, you know the last task will be suicidal of yourself.

Someone from the other side threat you to do these things or your personal pics will be released on the internet which was captured while doing the earlier task on the games.

If you can explain the payment details then you can see more offers for your requirement.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thoughts on Video game gambling addiction? on: August 01, 2019, 07:08:32 PM
In my country there was a ban for playing PUBG on few states, looks so stupid but they did due to lot of accidents and mental illness for continuous playing of that game. But the ban wasn't so serious since it is hard for the government to get the mobile of everyone and see what we are doing so the game creating company need to be less addictive while creating the game plans.

Seems incredible, I have not heard of a general ban like this before in any country, not for this game anyway.   PubG of course by itself is not a gambling game, its just plain computer simulation or 3D graphics 'first person shooter'.   The only time i hear talk of bans is that kids who play games that display a gun will then become a violent minded person.   This is no more true then it ever was for seemingly violent cartoons.    This logic is not backed by any peer reviewed psychological study or other professions.   The main point often comes back to troubled individuals can fall into bad habits on many past times, the best idea is to always make sure a person has a way to remove themselves from a game via a self ban I think.
Industry regulation and responsibility works better then the idea people can be banned from doing something quite normal
But there was actual ban imposed by high court on a particular state for playing pubg due to the high addiction since gambling is completely legal here.

If you remember the game bluewhale you cannot say you never heard ban on games, most countries banned that game.

I am really dedicated to a poker career my goal is to save up to 1000USD then start with the concept of 1/200 tournament buy ins or 5.50 or below tournies. Currently I am killing a boss called vorkath in osrs which gives 3m an hour or 1.50USD an hour so I can save up for the 1000 usd but I feel like there must be a faster way to pursue my dream of becoming a pro poker player in my current situation any advice or help would be great thanks.

I enjoy poker because I win all the time l can save everyday for the future of my kids just to have their needs for school. Its really a big help to me fir the needs of my kids This is better than expecting of nothing.
So you can be called as man of luck. Shocked

even the players with lot of experience on playing poker didn't win every game there betting.
110  Local / India / Re: V. G. Siddhartha - CCD founder Dead - Could Crypto have saved him? on: August 01, 2019, 02:05:16 PM
Litreally yes because many people saying that Indian banking system killed the founder of CCG due to high tax rates which leads to lot of debts on him.

If he used cryptos it might saved him.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Almost all the altcoins in red again! on: August 01, 2019, 07:00:27 AM
Altcoins are just bumping and dumping from the recent weeks due to the fall of bitcoin price from $14000 to $10000,we can expect the green days if bitcoin reaches the next resistance.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why $13,000 was unsustainable. on: August 01, 2019, 06:01:59 AM
The most important data you are missing here is that the number of bitcoins that is being sold in the open market that is being created by the miners, i bet you will not find any, so these sort of calculation does not give you anything substantial data when it comes to the market price of bitcoin.
The price of bitcoin does not have any relation with the production or mining cost of bitcoin, the only reason why the price of bitcoin was not sustainable above $13k would be that the price will not shoot up all the time and you need to have a correction to have a sustained growth  Tongue.

So miners pay electricity, facilities, and equipment in order to not sell a product. Do car manufactures make their cars and keep them from being sold on the market?

Completely illogical.

Cryptocurrencies cannot be compared to the product like cars maybe you can compare it with stocks how long you are keeping the stock the profit you are going to be then prophet also is going to be high. Mining also can be more profitable when you can hold the coin until the Bull run begins.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thoughts on Video game gambling addiction? on: August 01, 2019, 04:03:55 AM
Addiction on virtual gambling these days is very rampant on every young generation, and as technology is getting more advance we can't control it. We need to regulate and control the activities in order for us to manage the possible increasing addiction. There should be serious adjustments for this matter, and hopefully each participants of video gambling could realize the impact on their side.

115  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bees on: July 31, 2019, 06:33:01 PM
too much hassle and they only produce honey (sugar).

I would rather just grow my tomatoes and fruit trees with no effort and get fruit that I like a lot more than honey.

I didnt get into beekeeping for the honey. I have a sizable garden and a handful of fruit trees, and having reliable pollination greatly increases crop yield. Bees are more work than a lot of people expect though. I'd say I spend maybe an hour per week checking bees (takes me about 2 hours every other week) for the most part though, and that seems to be pretty standard unless you find something wrong, then you need to spend more time.

thats a good point but I get more than enough yield from my few trees and plants.  More than I could ever eat.
But you need bees for the proliferation,if there is no process happening on the trees then only leaves will be left in this world no more fruits and flowers.

If there is no bee then humankind will extinct.
116  Local / India / Re: What can we do? on: July 31, 2019, 05:57:36 PM
-skip-
Thats what I said because they even don't care about ban and even government officials keep using the banned products in the previous bans.

Oh ok. I might have misinterpreted the contexts.

A new article has been shared by Indiabits regarding the recent interview of Tmt. Nirmala Sitaraman

Quote
The report on cryptocurrency that recommends a sovereign digital currency and stringent punishment and fines for private digital currency has just come out. When are you proposing to take the legislation to Cabinet?
I had the presentation done before me. The committee has done extensive work on it. Inputs that have come in; if I compare several other countries where this kind of study has been done on cryptocurrencies, we have done very well.
They have gone much ahead of all other countries that have thought about it. It’s a very futuristic and well-thought-out report. I have not spent time on it after the presentation. Of course, we will look into it soon and come back with a position. That was also reported in court as there is a case going on.

That's not going to be anytime soon  Grin
Yes I read that too and also the finance ministry said that media misinformed about our stats of crypto,so there looks no ban on cryptos.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money is a Bubble on: July 31, 2019, 05:17:29 PM
Technically you are right, FIAt is constantly generated out of thin air.
but there is a huge difference between crypto and fiat, fiat is very strictly controlled and regulated and has enormous liquidity.
But fiat is strictly controlled by who created it but if it is crypto it is controlled by the people who uses it so one who want to use will decide whether its worth or not and also cryptos cannot be created out of thin air but fiat money does.
118  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Dear Indian Miners on: July 31, 2019, 12:07:12 PM
Even if people would start GPU mining the main thing is that GPUs that are used for mining aren't easily available and the prices are sky high if they are available.

So because of this, Indians are behind in the bitcoin mining race. But not because we lack knowledge... Just the resources to scale.
GPUs are available but is it still profitable to mine bitcoin?

Don't think so,that is why people invest bitcoin by just buying it rather than mining.

I think in India their is no scope available because government has deiced to ban it. SO if anyone invest in such equipment then it would turn out to be a waste as they would not be able to even sale as no one would buy now after government draft regarding ban has come.

Not yet,you should read the statement clearly here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5155465.msg52014127#msg52014127

Still hope for the Indian crypto community.

I wish this should be true. Smiley

If the finance minister says that reports was not right then literally they are going to support and regulate the cryptos.
120  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bees on: July 31, 2019, 09:43:39 AM
My friend keeps bees, it's an insanely profitable business.
But it needs lot of experience as well, pure honey is one of the expensive and most wanted medicine to cure many disease and also gor skin care like cosmetic products so have good potential in long term as well.
