I'm still surprised he got away with just 21 months. I'm sure he will make a nice companion for a burly man bear in prison. Does anyone know if the coinage he stole was ever recovered? He could have a hefty sum of Bitcoin stashed waiting for him when he gets out. I hope not. If so though.. maybe we could track it down and send some tips in.

Good question, tho.  What made the judge think Homero should have a short sentence to get back to biz to pay us back after failing every business venture he ever tried? I suspect some serious ball cupping went down in Hartford.

Remember that pastor who claimed he needs a new personal jet because the one he already has doesn't have enough range to spread the word of Jesus around the world? When I think about Homero's faux "faith" that's how I imagine he justifies himself. It's all God's will.

"You don't have because you don't ask" or smth like that (I'm too lazy to look it up now) is a Bible quote often used by prosperity gospel preachers and I'm sure it can be used to justify scams as well. I mean - all Homero did was ask for money and people gave him $20 million.

I worked with the SEC on this one and they don't see this as "small" because it's the first of its kind. 
We had a lot of tutoring to do to bring them up to speed on cryptos, mining, cloud mining, and in this case, fake mining.
I am certain that the FBI & SEC want to make an example of him because this is precedent-setting.
Sentence is estimated from 3-6 years but the judge has discretion, and NO it won't be a quick hearing, because victims are coming to testify and victim impact statements might be read.
It is *possible* that there are more funds available to fly in and get a hotel for other victims.
