Some of these people with complex passwords could have fallen for the fake mtgox emails
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Cracked Passwords List Leaked, were you cracked? on: June 28, 2011, 03:34:42 PM
Not sure if any of you have seen this or not, but here it is:

If you haven't changed your passwords yet...do it.

If you wanted to see whether or not your password was safe, feel free to check if it was cracked here.

Sorry guys, we're just waiting on MtGox now - just got the account back, and now there's a problem with their API - we'll have the first round of payments out soon though!
105  Bitcoin / Project Development / MtGox API working? on: June 27, 2011, 04:36:33 PM
Is anybody able to place orders at MTGOX using the API right now? I'm not able to, and I'm wondering if it's just me or if nobody can.

Sorry for the wait folks, we'll be paying those of you who did offers as soon as we get our account back and mtgox resumes trading.

111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / MyBitCoin.com has no way to recover passwords? on: June 23, 2011, 05:16:07 PM
After the MtGox hack, I logged in and changed my password.

However, now I'm trying to login and the pass that I changed it to isn't working.

There's no option to have your password mailed to you or reset your password - any ideas?
112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Mailchimp is unfriendly to bitcoin on: June 23, 2011, 05:00:42 PM
Has anyone else had their bitcoin related account closed at Mailchimp?
113  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: WeUseCoins: 2nd Video - Content on: June 20, 2011, 05:40:09 AM
My 2 cents:

The target audience should probably be every average lower-middle class first world resident (people who will have money to use bitcoin as a commodity). Average Joes, college kids, stay at home moms, etc in the uk, canada, usa, australia, etc.

The video should touch on what speaks to them. What do people hate? Getting charged fees. People hate getting gauged with debit fees, bank fees, credit card interest charges, etc.

Average people don't know about the problems of federal reserve banking, the corruption of world banking cartels, etc - in fact, in a 10 minute video, if we try to explain that to them, it will most likely turn 80% of the people off.

I would not "go there" for this video, but I'd rather speak to the average person by saying how bitcoin is the evolution of transactions online, how great it is that it can have such low fees, etc etc...focus on mostly good things about bitcoin that will improve the average person's life. Don't focus on what's wrong with the current banking system.

That would be my biggest suggestion!
114  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I will make banners or gif banners for cheap! on: June 20, 2011, 05:29:26 AM
Have you heard about forbitcoin.com? You can put a job like this up there, and if you want to have it featured, it will appear at the top of the site. If you promote your services using only your forbitcoin.com gig link, you will have a safe escrowed transaction with on site communications to keep it safe and anonymous.

=-)

Wow over 3500 visits & 1000 registered members! We'll be paying out the first round of members shortly...just waiting for the Mtgox issues to get resolved, as we were using their merchant API.

It's great to see such support for this project!

How about one that says:

"I'm a pretty big deal on #bitcoin"
117  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Proposal: Visual Identity for Bitcoin. on: June 18, 2011, 03:44:02 PM
I like the idea of bitcoin stickers. I would consider sending them to all of our members at forbitcoin.com and freebitcoins.org!

Warning: This Website saves your password in cleartext.

They send it to you by mail if you "forget" it.

erm, the passwords are not stored in cleartext...they are encrypted, then when you request your password it is decrypted and given to you through the email that you signed up with.
120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make some easy bitcoin at forbitcoin.com with this job on: June 18, 2011, 03:21:17 AM
What about those that have less than a 100 postcounts, but have been fairly active recently(ie most likely active in the future)

as long as the post count is increasing it makes sense to rent your sig space if you are an active member.
