241  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Could we get an economy of freelancers doing mini- or microtasks going? on: May 29, 2011, 06:50:06 PM
Great idea, I have a project in the works that will address this problem and hopefully create a valuable service based economy for bitcoin.
242  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Open Source pooled mining platform with web interface on: May 29, 2011, 06:18:50 PM
My business partner and I are looking for not just a pool but someone to partner with us as our technical lead to run the pool.

So our bounty of $100 will go up a lot and also include a profitshare if we can find someone who is interested in being the technical lead on a pool project.

We can handle the frontend design, customer service, any costs that come up, marketing & advertising, etc.
243  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: May 29, 2011, 06:03:11 PM
I tried to boot off of this yesterday and it was just an orgy of errors.
244  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Looking to start a pool, where should I start? on: May 29, 2011, 05:58:55 PM
I can definitely help, how much money do you have to start out with?

We've got a decent budget for the development and hosting for this project, we plan on spending money on marketing and advertising as well. We're hoping to find a technical lead who will be able to manage the technical issues as a partner in the project, but if that person needs money instead we could work a deal like that out.
245  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Ubuntu Natty Narwhal 11.04 Mining Guide / HOWTO on: May 29, 2011, 07:55:52 AM
I've been at this for about 4 hours.

THIS GUIDE NEEDS TO BE REWRITTEN!

For the 32 bit version, it's got all the wrong file path names and commands strewn throughout - for a Ubuntu newb like me I want to smash my screen.

Now I got it semi working, but when I run poclbm it only displays my CPU, not my graphics cards.

How do I get the gpus to show?
246  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Free Bitcoin Graphics on: May 28, 2011, 05:40:31 AM
Nice work! Any chance you could make some of these using β or Ƀ instead of ฿? (My opinion on what the symbol should be changes all the time, and right now I'm thinking β)

Maybe I should make you a bitcoin with (.)(.) as the symbol =P
247  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Open Source pooled mining platform with web interface on: May 28, 2011, 05:35:14 AM
What is a FOOS project?

I'm not sure if I can offer the bounty in Ruby on Rails, my front end coders only know PHP - I'll have to talk to them about RoR and post back later.

Those features look good though.

Can you do one themed around the matrix =)
249  Bitcoin / Project Development / Free Bitcoin Graphics on: May 28, 2011, 05:18:48 AM
Hey guys, I'm designing some bitcoin graphics for some of my up and coming bitcoin projects, and I thought I would give some away to contribute to any bitcoin entrepreneurs out there who may need some graphics help.

Feel free to use any of these!

download zip file:

It's mainly concepts for other bitcoin denominations, and bitcoin logos.

251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4800 miles without $$ - PLATO's Bitcoin Road Trip [May 23-30: Denver] on: May 26, 2011, 06:58:30 PM
Awesome journey! This should be filmed.
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Automation of bitcoin payments for Startups? on: May 26, 2011, 10:48:49 AM

I doubt that implementing a JSON-RPC client from scratch is the best solution. Mt. Gox already has a payment processing API set up. Check out https://mtgox.com/merch/about.

Thanks a lot I'll defintely take a look at this.
253  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Core Bitcoin Development Help Wanted on: May 26, 2011, 10:01:48 AM
Gavin, are you guys incentivizing participation in bug squashing with federal reserve notes? If so, where do I mail them?

Try sending bitcoins instead. Grin

It's cheaper/easier for me to use USD right now until we get our operation going =)

awesome, subscribed to follow progress.
256  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new miner - is it worth it? on: May 26, 2011, 07:41:31 AM
A lot of people have a mental block about exchanging money for bitcoins rather than exchanging money for hardware, which can find bitcoins.

If bitcoin fails, at least you still have the hardware to sell to gamers.

If bitcoin takes off into the $100/btc level relatively quickly, you would have been better to buy.
257  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: MinerStatus 0.7.1 on: May 26, 2011, 07:18:13 AM
any chance it'll work with iphone or bb?
258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Open Source pooled mining platform with web interface on: May 26, 2011, 07:15:54 AM

so 100 / 7ish = 14ishBTC

so.. new bounty is

144ishBTC

I'll be paying in USD though so don't count it as BTC =)
