Well as i sit here reading forums, while trading on BTC-e, i was wondering if anyone has heard of or know of anything new that might be coming out?

I think i might has missed the boat on buying a Neptune 3 th/s seeing as i think they are doing 4th batch now or soemthing like that.  Anyone have any idea what is coming after that? do you think it will be way to long in he future to wait for something bigger like 5 to 10 th/s

what do you think will be needed to mine come summer time? 10 th/s+ ?

I am just courious, because trading allday long to make .5 because it making me really tired, but it works, even though my eyes and fingers are starting to hurt. lol

One last thing, now that BTC is around 500, are the mining companys lower prices?

p.s. if say i bought one of these 3 th/s miners, and started it at home, how reliable are they? as in crashing, heat, reboots...   I would be gone a lot working overseas, would the smart wife of mine know what to do if say, we lost power, or it had to be rebooted

On the buying of the Nuptune 3 th/s if i am overseas working, is there an APP for that one to check its status? force it to reboot or anything? Also, my wife is smarter then me, if she checks on it, should she be able to figure out how to turn it back on, or notice if there are any problems?

Thank you all for teaching me how to have fun and mine, even though it took me 2 minutes after the pool opened until now, about 6 or so hours to get 20 coins, hehe, my masive 5k didnt do much, and i overheated every 5 minutes and had to reboot, lol

so now i have to look for a new laptop or make a miner

tobad my laptop overheats every 5 minutes now and i have to turn it back on

Well i finally downloaded all the programs needed to mine on my laptop using cpu, took a few days and weeks of reading and lots of help from the forum only to find out my laptop can mine for about 5 minutes before shutting off, guess its a heat problem

so what i need from you is;

1. is it worth mining altcoins just for fun on a laptop while i sit here deployed in Afghanistan, if so will a new laptop with say 3 to 4 gig video work or
2. When i go home on leave, build a tower, for mining, using GPUs, and bring it back overseas with me, to set up in my room
3 save the money and buy a BTC miner
4. put more money into the BTC pools using the new th/s equipment coming out
5. buy the 3 th/s miner, and leave it at home and hope it runs by itself while i am overseas deployed

money really is not hard to get, and i have enough to do most of that...

any help would be nice, because as of right now mining in a pool for 3 to 4 minutes is not doing well or fun at all, lol

hello guys, i am trying to mine a alt-coin in a pool and was told to user this program

i cant seem to figure it out, i download the one for windows 64 bit, i have win7

i extracted it to its own folder it had 4 files, i clicked on minerd to open it and it started its thing in dos... and then failed and is still failing every 30 seconds, i think i am missing a step or two, lol

like when to put in ip address, port, username, password for the pool i am trying to get in

with cgminer it gave me a prompt in dos to type those in, this doesnt let me do anything

the error is json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

please help i am trying to learn to mine on a windows laptop using CPU, i know it will suck and be slow and next to no hashrate, but its fun and i am learning something new...
