101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virgin Coins on: December 22, 2012, 07:52:24 PM
I'll still take 1 for novelty....let me know your BTC address and how much you want.

You can have bitcoins generated directly to your address by mining at a pool that does it's payouts like that. P2Pool and Eligius might be the only ones, here's an example of an Eligius payout. But that's still not the same as having the whole block reward generated to you.. or is it? I don't really know what's the value-adding thing here.

The value add is in finding the morons willing to pay over the odds for a bitcoin block and as I expected the usual suspects are in with how great this can be hold onto your wallet their at it again...
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virgin Coins on: December 22, 2012, 05:47:02 AM
I've pondered this question on an off for a good year now...   My thinking is that at the moment, a 50 or 25 virgin block is worth about 50.1 / 25 coins ..  in 20 years however, the Numismic value of a virgin block (technically the private key for said block) will be off the charts ...This is simply because of the rarity and the fact that from now till the end of eternity, nevermore will a 50 virgin coin block be minted.

Just take a look here:  http://cointrackers.com/blog/13/most-valuable-pennies/  ... there a lowly pennies out there worth $100,000

Soo.. anyone out there with virgin 50 coin keys they wanna sell?

Sigg

Oh baby that makes a virgin block worth what $5m, yeah right so begins the latest scam lets see where the shills come from like you proclaiming how this is yet again the best thing since sliced bread. A virgin coin is worth the same as any other damn coin out there it is all bits on a computer.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PPC] Who bought almost 500k PPC today!?! on: December 20, 2012, 09:09:48 PM
Someone preparing for a pump and dump..

No.

If you knew the answer why ask the question?

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin on: December 20, 2012, 01:35:45 AM
Maybe I should take another look at just pushing i0coin to 0.7.2. If I (we) are going to make major changes to the i0client, it makes sense just to bring it to the current BTC client level.

That really is the only makes sense option if you can do it that would be great.
106  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Should Giga be tagged as a scammer? on: December 20, 2012, 12:40:48 AM
I'm not going to read this entire thread.

In short: giga is suing nefario, nefario is trying to "punish" giga for being sued by not having the data or the money over.

Can nefario get double scammer tagged?

In short: giga has people committing perjury to claim funds, how about single tag..
107  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 6x 7970s and 5x 1xPCIE risers on: December 19, 2012, 09:06:28 AM
One thing though, I was surprised that customs would charge $48.00.
Now I am worried about my ASIC miners from butterfly labs, of $2560 I spent

If in hst province then 15% tax or roughly $375 plus whatever the brokerage fee is.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: December 18, 2012, 06:09:51 PM
I wonder if removing
Code:

bool detect_stratum(struct pool *pool, char *url)
{
...
if (opt_scrypt)
return false;
...
}
from cgminer.c will fix this.

Looks like it should give it a try and see what breaks.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Consolidated Litecoin Mining Guide for 5xxx, 6xxx, and 7xxx GPUs on: December 18, 2012, 03:25:35 PM
bump and updated with stratum mining information.  first stratum pool is ltcmine.ru

no good ckovalis says it is disabled when using scrypt, if using cgminer that is don't know about others.

you can't use it with
Code:
-o stratum+tcp://pool:port
?

No the code never gets used that is what he told me in IRC the other day when I asked how hard it would be to implement it in a pool his response was do no good because of this disabling otherwise should get the same result as btc for stales.

FWIW I'm on win7 x64.

Your hardware is fine.

Try using gpu-z to check if your GPU clocks are spooling up all the way.

GPUZ indicates overclocking works. But it has little to no effect on my hashrate. Tried 825-950 gpu clock, with voltage increases upto 1.2v. The cards got hotter but it didn't help.

I also tried each card on it's own. Same sub par hashing speeds.

Could it be something to do with the motherboard or ram? I am just reusing old hardware here, didn't really research the best components.

q6600@3ghz
Gigabyte EP45- ES3P
4Gb DDR2
700w PSU

Also, has anyone actually compared hash rates with windows 7 x64 and a linux distro?

No have pair of 6970 on DS3R version of that mother board same ram and cpu 750 psu they go @ 425kh/s, never used windows for mining so no way to compare.

Edit: And the second card is on pci-e 1x adapter because the second pci-e 16x slot is dead on it even that does not slow it down both cards get same hash rate.

Yeah that was a typo I have the DS3R too.
PCE slots run at 16x for one card or X8, X8 for 2 cards.

Other than trying Linux (which is going to take a while for me learn), I am really out of ideas. I think I'll just have to settle with what I've got unfortunately. They were ebay cards, £220 for 620kh/s isnt too bad I guess.

Me too though the linux is not that hard to do if you have ever installed an os should be simple to get it on machine and most guides can be pretty much cut'n'pasted into a terminal window to finish what you need done to mine.

I will try and work out if those linux variable are relevant for windows thanks. Actually that gives me another idea....try linux. I'm even more clueless when it comes to that thought.

Intensity all the way up to 20 only gives a max of 600kh/s for the pair.  Sad

Sucks should be getting close to 800.

Code:
cgminer --scrypt -o http://coinotron.com:8322 -u xxx -p xxx  --intensity 18 --worksize 256 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 7040

Try that with the core/memory speeds at 800/1250 that gives me ~395kh/s on mine on linux.

Best numbers I've seen all weekend. Thank you.

With some overclocking I might reach 395kh/s per card.

That is the best clocking for mine I have found seems weird you do not get better than you are on windows. Are you using the machine for anything else while mining? Mine are headless rigs that do nothing but mine.

no complete API?

Exactly no bot scammers/manipulators catered too and they are too lazy to do it manually.

I shipped it priority international which was an extra $15 outta my pocket over snail mail.

Let me know when you get it though.

Should be able to tell where it is at from the tracking number. In case neither of you know the customs declaration number acts as tracking number on the priority parcels could be same for the other levels I never get those so can't say for sure.

  Bitcoin has built it's foundation and now is designing the beautiful architecture above the ground that amazes more people around the world every day.  Litecoin is building it's foundation and will soon be joining Bitcoin above ground in all it's glory.

"Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?"

Been helping out as I can manage it in the cluster fuck that is happening after Paypal cut off the usenet providers/indexers. Ebay plus blockchain.info seems to be best bet for getting the coins needed into people hands. Followed by localbitcoins with bitinstant and going through the exchanges total nightmare. From what I have seen last few days not a hope in hell of people going through this BS on a regular basis as many of them have told me never again. They are lying of course as if they need their usenet fix and it is only way they will do it again begrudgingly as they are now, it is not winning btc many friends. Anyways that is all I got to say let the flame/troll fest begin.

And I have wished for years they were banned from connecting to the internet...
