Mining is a crucial part of the equation, so whether someone panics and sells their mining rig before recouping the costs or panic sells their 1000 BTC at $10, only to watch it bounce right back to $15.......its simply a bad decision.

There's room for miners and speculators but doing either successfully is never easy.

Just like in trading the US equity markets, If you are under the gun to make money (trading or mining) then your are doomed for failure most of the time.

Mine some coins, buy some coins, sit back and watch the show.......................

This would be some great publicity.

I love the guinness book of world records!

They also make a really great beer.   Grin

Yeah, but Guiness is a little weak for my tastes ;>

105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOX Not sending Dwolla transfers under X Amount? on: July 17, 2011, 10:49:23 PM
In the meantime I have successfully transferred $$ from Tradehill to Dwolla.

Hopefully, it was a temp issue with Gox; And, I didn't forget a decimal or anything like that, I assure you.

I'll send a few coins over to Gox and see if they have sorted it out.......................

Thanks for the inputs..............

107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GOX Not sending Dwolla transfers under X Amount? on: July 16, 2011, 11:20:36 PM
You speak the truth.

I'm pretty sure they did and it's not the first time they've misspelled Engrish,  ;)they are in Japan.

I should've snapped a screenshot; Someone else should try and Dwolla under $100 outgoing and see if they get the same message.

109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / GOX Not sending Dwolla transfers under X Amount? on: July 16, 2011, 11:10:29 PM
I just tried to withdraw slightly under $100 USD from GOX to my Dwolla acct and it came back with the message "Amount to low or invalid Dwolla Acct"

I know for a fact my Dwolla account is VALID. Of course, there is nothing on the website to indicate the rules have changed regarding a minimum.
Weak BS on GOX behalf.......

Anyone else seeing this?  Huh

110  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why is my 2nd card slower than my first card? on: July 13, 2011, 03:35:03 AM
Sounds like your cards are simply to close together.

You need atleast 1/4 inch or so between cards, otherwise one can't breathe.

Cheers

112  Bitcoin / Pools / Open Post To All on: July 13, 2011, 02:43:46 AM
I usually don't post much and just read, but in this case I had to throw in my two cents.

I have been on every pool over the past 24 hours, DeepBit, BTC Guild, and Slush. Even though they have been "Online" the disconnect rate is freaking ludicrous.

All three of the big players are great, WHEN they are working. I mean wtf is ddos'ing u guys into the stone age every 30 days? It screws EVERYONE.

I guess it's time for the guys making the cash to spring some coin on their infrastructure. Adapt and predict, wtf is the problem? If you don't do it, someone else will.

Whats up?

I need to get some PCIE extension cables so I can host a few cards outside of the box.

Is this what you guys are referring to? If so, could you drop a link where I can purchase?

Much thanks,

Yeah, I happen to be lucky enough to move from Slush to BTC right before the marathon block.

Now I try my luck at DeepBit for 1st time.

115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Real Time Order Book with WebSockets on: July 11, 2011, 05:25:36 PM

nice!

When I looked at the site, I thought I'm seeing my own python app.

very similar display of depth data.

One differency strikes me, though: you're ordering the asks the other way around than me.

I think having the lowest ask at the bottom makes sense: You have the bids coming down on the left and the asks going back up on the right. So it's shaped like a "U" with the lowest point of the U being where the action is.

So by looking at the last line, you can already tell what the lowest ask and highest bids are. With your ordering, I have to look at the last and the first line.. confuses the hell out of me. While that's probably because I'm used to my own ordering, I would still like to suggest you think about this and maybe change it.

Thanks for your work, Clark, it's really pretty cool.

This is looking good, the way it should be.

Offers on right, bids on left - Highest bid should be on top, lowest offer on top as well, just like a stock......add the TOS and we'll be off to the races.....

Keep up the great work!

117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tools for Trading BTC on: July 11, 2011, 02:54:34 AM
That would be cool ;>

I'm a gamer as well, but haven't been gaming since I started mining. But it would be cool to host Quake Live deathmatches or some other FPS and pay bitcoins to the winner..........

As far as indicators/alerts for bitcoin trading, I was thinking volume spikes on the 1 min time frame and some other basic stuff like Standard Deviation, avg volatility, along with some other over bought/oversold stuff.......I guess when there's only 1 "stock" to watch you dont need a whole lot....guess we'll see.

118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Tools for Trading BTC on: July 10, 2011, 07:13:31 PM
Hello All:

As BTC continues to gain traction and evolves into more of a liquid and tradeable  instrument, it would be nice to have some tools, or real-time alerts that will assist us in figuring out when to buy/sell/short/exit/enter. (intraday as well as longer term)

So, if a product like this were available, what are some of the alerts or indicators that the trading community would be interested in?

119  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2220 GH/s] Slush's Bitcoin Mining Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz) on: July 10, 2011, 05:37:49 PM
My theory is that were under attack by government black-hats. Same happened lately with all major pools. They tried and they failed, we´re still here, mining as usual...  Grin

Right, could be competing pools or any person/entity that doesn't want to see BTC proliferate..............

120  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2220 GH/s] Slush's Bitcoin Mining Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz) on: July 10, 2011, 04:55:50 PM
