101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: July 05, 2016, 12:50:33 PM
there is no more talk of ccminer optimisation here for long now.
we should move to a generic nvidia mining thread, if there is one.
otherwise we can create it.

Here is the original.

Epsylon3 has his thread also.

I replaced just my 970 with a 1080 and the temp in my room has been night and day difference.

The only thing I hate is the price but oh well.

As Epsylon3 said above maybe down the road the cards can be taking advantage of for mining.
antonio What wattage does it draw?  Thx

Go with what Epsylon3 posted above.

I don't have a wattage meter. Never used one to  test any rigs.

103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: June 24, 2016, 01:10:47 AM
yeah unfortunately it work good only on linux for now, we need to wait for the window diplay driver, there may be the same boost for windows after that

Bro you don't even know what you're talking about or what the issue is. You're just copy pasting what Genoil was talking about for Ethereum to a completely different algo. WDDM is completely different from the Windows driver and there wont be a new version for W8.1 or W7.

Dagger has a lot of other issues for the 1070, including it just doesn't start without a lot of tweaking.

who care about win7 as long as it work on win10 i'm fine, it's not like we need win 7 at all cost...

tweaking are always necessary in one way or another, hell even now i'm tweaking my 970 for some algo, because you need different tdp and stuff like that, you tweak the nano to have better perf/watt etc...plu and play are a utopia

A lot of people are running on W7/8 due to algos running faster on them. Almost no one is on 10, just like nix. It's not at 'all cost', it's fixing a broken miner.

i can understand this but the switch to win 10 is less painful than the ubuntu or whatever distro, the miner can be fixed only by genoil at this point, if there is something wrong there

but it seems only a windows problem(yeah ok some tweaking to the miner and optimization are needed anyway...), since on linux it's working right...

I ran W10 on a couple machines and reverted because algos run faster on W7/8, as I already mentioned.

Genoil isn't responsible for NeoS, I swear you don't even listen to what we're talking about. This is CCminer, not the Ethminer thread. I was talking about NeoS on CCminer.

The problem isn't switching to W10, it's fixing bugs. -_-

well neos require another optimization, on its own for the new gpu, you have also posted the hashrate on win8 which is bad, 650 can be done with a 970 easily

so on win8 you don't even get better performance on other algo with the new gpu, what about lyra? did you tried it on win7?

Yes, it's bugged and needs to be fixed. That's the whole reason I posted what I did. To show some sort of meaningful information so maybe Eps, Sp, or some other dev might have some idea of what's going on and try to look for a fix.

Why don't you go to the source and ask djm34 about neos.

Using the build from crypotoblog as I am on Windows 7 64bit and have a i7 4790k (haswell).

When using the cpu miner- cpuminer-haswell-broadwell the miner will not run but it does with just cpuminer and cpuminer-sse2 on 3.3.5 and 3.3.4. I have no idea why it does not work on the first.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 27, 2016, 11:28:11 AM
Adding to my previous post...
Had a quick look at the AsRock BTC Pro manual, and couple of things sparked my interest:
- Onboard NIC uses x1 PCIe lane!
- 1 Slot can do PCIe v2.0 x16
- 5 Slots are PCIe v2.0 x1

I don't know what other Onboard devices might be using up lanes as those are not clearly stated (though I posted about the usual suspects already). It would be wise to disable every single motherboard/chipset feature that is not critical to the rig operation.

@crysx & others, what setting do you have on the BIOS for "PCIE2 Link Speed"? Maybe worth fiddling with the possible options there.

Edit: One last note on this mental exercise: I'm with joblo in suspecting that it could just be that the problem is when you cross the 32GB boundary in memory attached to PCIe devices. If this is the case, you'll find that the same rig will max out at 4 * GTX1080's  Cheesy

I have a 6 card 750ti setup and 5 cards are in 3.0 @ 2.0x1 and 1 card is 3.0 @ 2.0x4

polaris vs pascal, vega will be on october, announced probably dunno about release

I'll believe this when I see it. Considering AMD is probably a few months out from launch, bit early to see leak numbers. We'll probably see a paper launch at computex though.

That seems a bit fast too, considering Polaris is supposed to be AMDs midrange lineup, it's hard to imagine it matching pace with a 1080/1070.
But what can the 1080/1070 as far as hashpower? Compared to the 980ti? thx

1080 on left and 980ti on right. Not sure how accurate and only shows it in sha256.

https://compubench.com/compare.jsp?benchmark=compu15d&did1=33974771&os1=Windows&api1=cl&hwtype1=dGPU&hwname1=NVIDIA+GeForce+GTX+1080&did2=26277507&os2=Windows&api2=cl&hwtype2=dGPU&hwname2=NVIDIA+GeForce+GTX+980+Ti

Link so you can can play around with it. Just click "x" on either card at top and you can change cards to compare. make sure if you change a card you go back and change the OS or the numbers will be skewed.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 22, 2016, 11:51:56 PM
I have also been running a rig with 6 gpu's for about a year and no issues.

On Windows 7 64 bit using a 700 watt power supply and not a top of the line. All cards are on powered usb risers.

One thing to keep in mind that might help. Do not put more than 2 cards on each daisy chain. Those things are not designed to handle a lot of wattage through them. There have been many reports in the past of them melting at the molex connector and even catching fire.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: May 21, 2016, 12:51:52 AM
Everyone keeps talking about ETH is the only profitable coin to mine.

96 Mh/s gets just about 1 ETH per day. Not too bad as that still covers total electric per day plus some left over.

I have not mined ETH in months as there are better options out there.

Oh and before you respond Bensam like you did the last time I posted something like this about not telling what it is, you have your secret coins like everyone else.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PlatinumBAR XPTX - Rare Cryptocurrency with PoW / PoS on: May 03, 2016, 01:07:01 PM
Burned another 500 XPTX for a total of 3000 XPTX.  Details in the OP.

What are burned coins ? Why you did this? What is the benefits?

They destroyed 3,000 of their premine coins. It reduces the total amount and the amount of coins they are holding.

I have ran a few wallets before and added some nodes in a config.

Tried all posted a few pages ago and in op and still no connection on Window 7 64 bit.
I would recommended not putting the add nodes in the config. put them in the help/Debug window one by one. might be tedious but i know for a fact that works and has very little chance to fail. please keep me notified.

No way am I or would I manually add all the addnodes. Too much work for what it is worth.

I did do as @cyberpitstop suggested by removing the config file. have no need for it really since I am not solo mining from rigs to rigs.

So I removed it and added the 3 addnodes from the OP and left the wallet alone. about 30 minutes later it connected and synced. Found 3 blocks so far so I'll see how it goes in the morning.

All good now as long as the wallet stays connected and if not I'll just go back to the other cpu only coin I was mining.

So should we just delete the conf file all together and add them all through debug?
Cause I am starting to think this is a Win7 64bit bug.
My son running windows 8 he has zero problems, I cant get any connections at all.

I have saw the same problem in windows 7 64bit

I know one wallet for windows was a 32 bit version but not sure on the other.

Finally synced. I just installed wallet on a different rig and let it sync and then moved wallet.dat.

The block shows 338,198 in the debug command with 3 connections but the wallet says "out of sync" and in red but it looks like it is up to the correct block.

I decided to just do a fresh resync but I have been stuck at block 19,500 for quite a while now.

Has the Windows version been released?

I see Linux and Mac.

hi antonio ...

been a while mate ...

cant you compile windows versions? ...

im learning how to do it on windows - but would much prefer to cross compile via linux ...

need to learn how to do both - as i need this for my own coins also ... apparently windows compiles are WAY more complicated than any linux compiles ...

#crysx

Hey cryslox,

Never tried to compile a wallet. Not sure what all I need to compile. I guess I can google.

Compiled a few miners (Nvidia) but that is it.

Never Leave more coins sitting on an exchange than what you are willing to Lose!!! polo will be next gox imo and it s not far.
l m happy that moved my xvg from all sites
keep your back-ups safe
good luck

I will just say this about Polo.

If you where around a few years ago then you might remember that Polo got hacked and had BTC stolen. Instead of closing shop like a lot of exchanges did back then (and today, looking at you Cryptsy (although I still feel an inside job)) they stayed open and payed everyone back their BTC. Yes they raised fees for a short time to help but they stayed around and did the right thing. I was one of them.

I use Polo whenever I can.

But don't leave coins on any exchange that you can't afford to lose. Period.

I created a bitstream for the ZTEX 1.15y board and want to share it with the decred community.  If you have a ZTEX 1.15y board, you should be able to mine DCR using this modified cgminer and bitstream.

I have put the bitstream at the following link.  It gets about 800Mh/s.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/j1d12ixhfthj0y7/ztex_ufm1_15y1.bit?dl=0

The cgminer is located at the following link:

    https://github.com/sprocket-fpga/cgminer_3.7.2_ztex

Below are the steps I used to modify Decred cgminer 0.0.5 to run on my Raspberry Pi.

    1) sudo apt-get update
    2) sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev libusb-1.0-0 libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev screen libtool automake pkg-config libjansson-dev
    3) git clone https://github.com/decred/cgminer
    4) cd cgminer
    5) sudo ./autogen.sh
    6) sudo ./configure --disable-adl --enable-icarus
    7) copy .c and .h files to cgminer directory
    8 ) copy .bit to cgminer\bitstreams
    9) sudo make
    10) Command Line: cgminer --disable-gpu --blake256 -o < url:port > -u < username > -p < password > --ztex-clock 100:100

Note: This miner only works on Getwork pools. It does not have the Stratum logic incorporated yet.

Open Issue: This miner seems to work fine for up to 4 ztex boards. More than 4 boards is causing the cgminer to crash after 10 minutes.  If you have any ideas how to fix this issue, please PM me.

If you find this miner useful, please feel free to leave a tip:

Hehe - any chance you can find a way to port to Cairnsmore 1 units?  I am loaded with them! :-)

Not trying to be funny but you should sell some. Look at that price for a new one.
