101  Economy / Auctions / Re: 150 direct Asicminer shares 3 day auction on: May 12, 2013, 12:06:41 AM
3 of these transactions have been paid(1 still waiting for friedcat's confirmation).

2 of them are waiting for friedcat's confirmation & escrow release.

2 of these haven't started yet.  Please work out the transfer w/ an escrow or transfer directly so we can complete the deal before the next dividend.
102  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 10, 2013, 12:14:16 PM
Please stop being worried about an single entity having 50%+ of the network,

Someone could have 90% hashrate and as long as he doesn't mess with the chain rules you've nothing to worry about.

It does matter.  What if the attacker was a government?  They don't have to try to stop Bitcoin.  They just have to sieze that one operator of 50+% mining, and suddenly they have the whole network.

I tried asking this in one of the auction threads but got no response, is there any way to verify the people auctioning off direct shares? I would like to make a significant purchase but simply can't due to lack of information. Can someone at ASICMiner (with the seller's permission of course) confirm shares being auctioned are legitimate?

If you go through an escrow, you aren't really at risk anyway(And for any "significant" purchase, you should use an escrow!)

You can also confirm by asking for their address of ownership, and then looking through the transaction logs for the satoshi's.

Alternatively Friedcat can confirm if PM'd about the thread, but he is very busy.

PM's sent to winners.

My address is:

Thujone's transaction is complete(pending Friedcat transferring the shares):
http://blockchain.info/tx/9cacd67c28973f957adb2a8b85ecd90f19842debccff06c5c34b0787afc4b762

http://blockchain.info/tx/eefde9e4f843a65d94db14a62daa8a9317176abcc406f70bc5fd07679ea483a4

I'm also (obviously) ok with skipping an escrow for anyone who wants to- At least one other person is skipping escrow.  (muyuu should probably use an escrow due to the size of the transaction)

35 @ 1.38
My bid was for 35, please check

Sorry, my mistake, 35 @ 1.38 = 48.3 btc.
106  Economy / Auctions / Re: 150 direct Asicminer shares 3 day auction on: May 09, 2013, 12:13:07 AM
The price on btct.co is now 1.485/share.  pierrejo, you can find more of my shares among the market depth > 1.5.  Happy buying at a higher price.

bitfunder's at 1.34, right now.  I have been waiting for a dip to buy in today, but it ain't happening.  Prices are going up everywhere!

People before the dividend were excited about the dividend.  People after the dividend were reinvesting dividends(and still are).  I'm guessing the next 3 weeks will be risers as the dividend goes up.
107  Economy / Auctions / Re: 150 direct Asicminer shares 3 day auction on: May 08, 2013, 11:45:23 PM
Okay sounds good.

I'll be home in an hour so we'll get this show on the road.

Just one quick question, and I don't feel like it needs any more poking and prodding but I like to flip through things, and your post:

Is there any hard limit? I want to sleep tonight.
Exactly, 1h after last bid is too much

If everyone was ok with it, I would lower it to a 30 minute period.  Unfortunately there are some people who can't constantly check this, and I'd be risking being unfair to them if I changed the rule now.  One of the first AM auctions I bid on had a ~6 hour protection, so there's definitely precedent for this.

Yet in your post history I don't see you bidding on an auction, just on that orderbook thing there which is more like an exchange than an auction.

Again sorry if I feel like I'm being CSI on something that doesn't matter but I just wanted to point it out, and I could be totally wrong.

I bid from another account.  I PM'd you with some more info.

The price on btct.co is now 1.485/share.  pierrejo, you can find more of my shares among the market depth > 1.5.  Happy buying at a higher price.

I also find it kind of interesting that JaredR's account also was registered in 2011, made 1 post, then didn't post again until a month ago.

Coincidences!

99.99% both of these people are someone else on the forum and these are the anonymous accounts..

Sounds right - I'm done with this auction. For everyone interested - Highly recommend https://btct.co/ for ASICMINER-PT shares.
See you at the next auction, I'll stay clear of those "Adds an hour every new bid" in the future - where there's money, there's manipulation.

Or you could just turn into an asshole for no reason.

I've asked John to confirm if he can that we are different people.  I'm not sure how I could prove it, you guys are just jumping on a coincidence over nothing and then jumping straight to guilty.

Why would Thujone and my account's both be registered within 2 weeks of eachother in mid-2011?  Well lets see... What happened in mid 2011... Maybe the huge price spike and crash that introduce hundreds of thousands of new people to Bitcoin?

After the crash I had no reason to post here.  I got my information from reddit/r/Bitcoin, where I am still active.  I had no need to come to this forum until I discovered asicminer early this year.

Thujone created account on May 27, 2011, 12:54:17 PM
JaredR26 created account on June 10, 2011, 12:51:30 AM  (less than two weeks after Thujone)
I wouldn't have gone there if this bet didn't conveniently extend the betting by an hour less than 20 minutes from the deadline...
Who lurks for 2 years and does not log 4 hours on the forums?

Hah.  I actually did the same thing as Thujone, lurking until early this year.  I had no reason to post.  So it isn't surprising that people do that.

If Thujone is ok with it, I'll post the tx id when I send him the dividends/receive payment.  Beyond that you'll just have to trust him/me, I'm not sure what I could do to convince you.  I don't think anyone is going to bid anything else, so I have nothing to gain by extending the auction, except your ire, which I don't really want.

If the previous bidders are ok, we can end the auction now.  I just want to be fair.

I'll screenshot our communications and post that, since Thujone gave permission.

Fractional ASICMINER shares are now available at Havelock Investments as well. https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=ASICM

They are selling like hotcakes, but don't worry, I'm replenishing as fast I can!

Awesome, I love havelock.

Please make sure you implement the dead man's switch soon or that it happens.

I have a few questions, apologies if these seem obvious but a quick search does not really give me anything. Also, I am a brand new Asicminer shareholder as of a few days ago!

Does asicminer design the chips themselves or do they purchase from avalon? From what I have seen, so far they are only purchasing from avalon.

Once a new cryptocurrency comes out which is better than bitcoin (not now, but possibly in a year or few), would asicminer shift to mining for the new currency and designing new ic's for the new currency, or would they refuse to change?

AM has not purchased anything from Avalon.  Asicminer is a first class chip developer and producer.  They designed the chips themselves.

AM has no plans around anything except Bitcoin for now.  I'm sure the shareholders could push them in one direction or another if something else looked like it was coming out.

For all of you bidding 1.4 and above - realize there are 100+ ASICMINER-PT shares on https://btct.co/security/ASICMINER-PT for under that price.

Correct, and even cheaper on bitfunder:
