101  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin exchanges which requires a debit card? on: February 23, 2014, 05:39:32 PM
Any good exchanges which only require a debit card to buy Bitcoin and maybe some alt coins?

If you're in Canada. QuickBT.com
102  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-16] First Bitcoin conference in Russia on: February 17, 2014, 03:28:18 AM
The article was actually posted on February 5 and not today. That was before Russia declared bitcoins to be illegal. I doubt the conference will take place.

Makes me sick when people spread misinformation around here.

Are you a Jew or something?

Vielleicht hat er einfach die Schnauze voll mit diesen blöden Hitler You Tube Videos?

It was funny the first time and the first time only.

Anyone who has made one since should be rounded up with all their family and sent to a concentration camp......or have experiments done on them.

.....well, that is what I think anyway and I consider myself a very reasonable man.

Die videos finde Ich voll lustig! lol

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: February 09, 2014, 02:53:52 AM
Holy crap this Max Keiser is insane... Have you seen his twitter?

"Max Keiser ‏@maxkeiser  58s
.@crazyjbc Due to reach of @KeiserReport we are doing everything we can to keep the #max price below $20; which is not easy."

"Max Keiser ‏@maxkeiser  40s
We are basicaly playing the trolls for the benefit of anyone who wants to get in under $5. At some point, we won't be able to keep price low"

"Max Keiser ‏@maxkeiser  8m
Just like we made many, many BTC millionaires, I would not be surprised if we create an even greater number of #maxcoin millionaires.

I'm beginning to think that Keiser might actually believe this garbage.

Keeping the price down!!! He's going to have a credibility crisis soon.

So much pump going on exchange, would be nice to see when they run out of money  Grin

Far past a credibility crisis, someone in an earlier post used the perfect description.. calling him a Hypocrite – so true, and now so accurate!!! I thought he had changed, and I don’t like admitting it now, but I can’t believe I have been a supporter of this guy’s show.

I am willing to bet that most people on this forum are fair humans. I am also sure of one thing, that most of you are already victims.

1.   The delayed launch of this coin was the perfect way for the Devs(max’s inner circle) to instamine and give them a heavy chunk of the Maxcoin pie.
2.   Once seemingly launched, the half-finished web site, and incomplete links to software, instructions and pools extended their instamine time. Yes that’s right, meaning they get a bigger chunk of that pie.
3.    Once things appeared to be up and running, the immature gui, the lack of support for CPU (which was promised) and AMD gpu (which most are set up for) meant that devs (or max’s inner circle) further had more time to use their pre-prepared Nvidia mining farms -  for MORE PIE!
4.   But don’t worry, you’re now up and running, mining with a pool, except all those pools are being DDOS attacked by, you guessed it! the devs (max’s inner circle). Yes, that’s the whole pie!

At this point you can be certain that anyone who is not part of this inner circle is getting nothing but crumbs people, perhaps specks!

So that you understand the level of con you are dealing with, this guy claims that he let everyone in on BTC at $5, that’s TRUE, he did, so very quietly. But did he let you in on BTC when it was available for cents. This CON has easily got more than 100000 BTC (likely more, and there is nothing wrong with that, good luck too him if he had stopped there) but he has the audacity to scam YOU for more BTC.

You came here for an opportunity, and the good news is you still have one. It could be your friend or your brother or sister on the other side of that trade. You can do something right now, I call on you NOT to give this Con another 100K in BTC but to instead find that fair, humane spirit inside of you, and toss that pie right back at its creator, how? Don’t participate! Dump his coin! (not on an exchange, just don’t use it, don’t buy it) Save your miners for a coin that has social value that has been or will be distributed in a fair manner.
Tell your friends, and for the next 48hrs/week or however long needed, come together socially as fair humans and dump loads of that pie back on him with facebook and twitter!

Easy, everyone wins!
Innocent people will NOT be scammed, max gets plenty of pie! ON HIS FACE! (after all, he does want most of that pie)
So since he is always desperately appealing for more twitter followers, we know what he wants and we don’t have to give that to him, just like he didn’t give us a fair distribution of his beloved coin. Let him be known for the worst crypto scam ever! Let him be known for losing the most twitter followers in the fastest time! Ask yourself, would you rather his coin, or would you much rather see him wake up to 0 twitter followers and not be able to scam anyone again..
Give him that big fat donut! A big fat round pie! A big FAT 0 twitter followers! sound fair?

I want to  take the chance to advertise for  a coin that appears... no, that is the direct opposite of this scamcoin.
Join the Noblemovement and be a part of its fair community. And by fair i mean fair the devs have proven often enough.

Despite of Maxcoin it is transparent, the devs are actively helping and developing, it had a excelent launch and it is one of the few Coins that is still healthy (2 months).

Honestly i mined a few coins and sold them, but i stopped because of thinking further and not in short-term. Pump and dump is killing any coin, it is helping lose faith in cryptocurrencys at all. Honest believers are always getting  scammed at the end.

I dont want to say that making profit with CC is bad, but it must have an inner value that justifies its price.

The price of noble is rising steadily and not too fast, there are 26 Merchants accepting Noble and  5 exchanges. The des are also currently working  on a big marketplace.

Noble is one of the coins doing charity, and maybe it is one of the biggest.

Seriously, I am not that type of guy promoting cryptocoins. But when i have to see how the idea of cryptocirrencys is kicked in the face I have to protest.

I am not a big writer and unfortunatley my english is not my mother tongue, so please apologize for incorrect gramar Smiley

111  Economy / Speculation / I know exactly what happened to GOX price. on: February 07, 2014, 02:47:09 AM
Someone figured out arbitrage. Profited off of Gox's inflated price.

Equalized prices across exchanges.

Caused short term panic across other exchanges causing global drop in price.

Prices back to normal by tomorrow.

Gox's new normal = prices on every other exchange.

The difference in payout for servers has increased dramatically. Is the uswest server the only one accumulating high unexchanged while other servers have low payout and low unexchanged. Isn't it time to normalize payouts as a priority rather than adding beta servers with different payouts?

I'm on useast and have high unexchanged.

0.27 BTC unexchanged, and 0.135 held by pool.

Looks like another great day.   Grin

jomama22: Im not an idiot, obviously I need to take into account of the hash history.

And also, h2o already confirmed this issue so wether or not youve seen anything doesnt exactly phase me.

confirmed what issue exactly? I haven't seen h20 mention a single thing about payout issues or discrepancy between servers. The only thing h20 has said about the servers is that they need a fix up for instability, especially the EU server. NOTHING about the amsterdam or useast servers was specifically mentioned.

Your in here complaining about money, say you aren't complaining, then proceed the openly admit you wont take any advice or suggestions from anyone. So what exactly are you doing here?

Why are you still arguing about this? h20 has stated himself that it IS in FACT an issue and it does affect payout it doesn't matter if you're an exception

please point to where he stated this fact

Umm he said so on IRC and it was copied into the thread here:

I (mining at Amsterdam) noticed the same issue and yesterday H2O confirmed (on IRC) that currently not all servers give the same profits, but he is working on a fix. Excerpts from a chatlog (with other news as well):

Jan 31 22:23:03 <Acrobat>   Do we know why the difference in unexchanged between different MC users is so enormous? Are you screwed when mining EU/Amsterdam instead of US?
Jan 31 22:31:35 <h2odysee>   Acrobat: I know that's an issue. In the future, it won't matter what server you're on.
Jan 31 22:31:47 <h2odysee>   I'll make all shares equal
Jan 31 22:33:15 <h2odysee>   The difference in profit between the various servers should be smaller now, than it was before.
Jan 31 22:34:48 <h2odysee>   well, they should be. I made a change a couple of days ago that should make them more equal
---
Jan 31 22:39:43 <h2odysee>   current plans, for those interested, are to fix the amsterdam server (I think I know why it disconnects a lot), then set up a new system for rolling out new servers.
Jan 31 22:40:11 <h2odysee>   So I will be able to easily provision new servers
Jan 31 22:40:38 <h2odysee>   Once that happens, we'll get a Dallas, LA, and Hong Kong server
Jan 31 22:41:03 <h2odysee>   both Ireland and Amsterdam suffer from the same problem. I don't know if either is best
Jan 31 22:42:28 <h2odysee>   I could do a Frankfurt server maybe.
Jan 31 22:44:48 <h2odysee>   Scandinavia will be low priority, because none of my hosting providers have datacenters there. I'd have to use a new one.
---
Jan 31 22:46:27 <h2odysee>   Yeah, the current load issues are the main thing
Jan 31 22:46:33 <h2odysee>   Which I can solve
---
Jan 31 22:47:27 <h2odysee>   I need to lower the diff again. But I can't yet.

Owned.

Very good earnings today considering unexchanged was almost completely exchanged last night, and we've re-accumulated so much more already.

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 25, 2014, 08:14:15 PM

On top of that, with the 3% fees which currently equate to about 570 MH/s, H20 has more incentive to maximize payouts than any of us here.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 23, 2014, 02:46:12 AM

Good thing you put that edit in there because I was heading in the, you don't have to buy 11 rigs and worry about making your money back. Not that I choose not to upgrade but more that every card right now is priced to the point of if I buy it now I will never be able to make anything back for resale.

Thanks. Nice day to you sir.

You're choose not to take the risk. No risk, no reward. Same goes for buying ASICs.

I mine for for a little extra change. My full time job suffices. Why take a risk when I am comfortable with my life?

This can go on all night lol, there are always more ways than one to look at it.

I'm off to bed.

Our scuffle has been ended.

That is impressive. You got in at the right time though, correct?

I've still got six 5970's mining since February 2011. They must have ROI'd the equivalent of 300 times over already. Mnius $20 here and there for replacement fans.

Sold lots of BTC. Regretted it each time, but still have enough.

119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 23, 2014, 02:22:48 AM

Where did I try to one up you? Who is the kid? Those dang kids! Kids are what 16 and under? Sorry to disappoint, no kid here.

Mining is still not competitive. There is a new coin every week. No one can mine every coin. So please stop.

ALSO, people that take mining as BUSINESS are not so smart. Lets use logic here.

I said it's treated like a business.

People are in a business to make money.
People mine cryptos to make money. (You wouldn't be doing this otherwise).

In order to maintain profits, you need to use competitive hardware, otherwise your profits will quickly decline.

Either accept this fact, or stop bitching on the Internet about ASICs because that's what started this discussion in the first place.

EDIT:

I finally realized why it's not competitive in your opinion.

You choose not to upgrade. Instead you choose to earn less and bitch more.

Problem solved. You're right, I'm wrong.  You win.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 23, 2014, 02:07:30 AM
Huh Huh

Mining is VERY competitive.  It's an arms race against the ASIC clock.  It's also a race against the rising difficulty clock.

Asics's are coming one way or another.  I still think it will be a while before they offer the performance/price that makes sense.  Also, it will take a generation or two to really get the kinks worked out.

But if you aren't either racing to get as much coin now as you can, then you are bringing up the rear because the rest of use are building farms.  We want to collect/cash in as much BTC as possible before ASICs drive the difficulty up so much that you actually NEED said asic to mine/survive in this hobby.

It is called progress. Either you move along with it or you get left behind crying about the neighbors Maserati Smiley

+1. Finally some adults around here.

Funny how kids around here like to play with their words just so they can 1up people on the Internet.

I would not sweat it. You should hear the cpu miners cry on new scrypt coin releases Smiley

I hear you on that one. People treat this like a BUSINESS. They're here to make money. You can't expect to keep earning proportionally if you don't use competitive hardware. One thing you can expect though, is a lot of bitching.
