101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Types of hardware] Litecoin mining - 1st Step on: January 17, 2014, 07:22:56 AM
7990's generate a lot of heat. I have 2 in a water-cooled system with 2 480 rads and I still can't max out the hash rate because the temp starts going way up.

maybe with a open and bigger case  and adding some fan you could improve your performance productivity.. how many litecoins are you mining daily?

He's using water cooling and massive radiators.  The thermal density is just too high with those cards (or maybe he has high ambient temps).

he needs more ventilation... and more distance between GPU
102  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why buy Neptune KNC? Bitcoin Diffculty on: January 17, 2014, 12:21:14 AM
How do you all think the ROI would be at some point in a few months if someone were to use these to mine in a coin-switching SHA256 multipool spread out over a dozen coins to keep the diff low in each. Seems like none now are consistently more profitable nor predictably stable or going up in value, (maybe Peercoin?) but if they received enough attention their value may consistently bring a good ROI in time. Just wondered if anyone had a best-conceived strategy on miners as it becomes less and less profitable to mine BTC.
when cointerra open orders in agoust for delivery in December for 9k$ everybody tought it was possible get positive ROI anyway bitcoin's price has grown so fast and everybody got their moneys  Smiley. Probably mining by GPU for litecoins will be soon profitable and also NMC, it depends only from the market cap.

104  Economy / Economics / [shot.time] sell or hold? raise or fall? Crash or moon? on: January 16, 2014, 11:45:29 PM
after the big crash from 1200 to 550 bit coin grows again to 1000 and now 830$. Can we expect another crash in short-term?or do you think it grows to 1000 again? BTCBTCBTC

 Huh Huh
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [Types of hardware] Litecoin mining - 1st Step on: January 16, 2014, 11:12:44 PM
Recent years show us a "boom" of cryptocurrencies and technologies, during 2014 ASIC came and bitcoin took off to the moon over 1200$(GOX).
What about 2014? I believe that's only the beginning Almost every cryptocurrency's value will increase, next one is Litecoin
2013 has been a good year for litecoins, they start grow nicely over 45$ at first days of December and now around 25$ each, not bad.

Could we expect a suddenly boom of litecoins over 100/200$?..yes of course! this is Time to start mining.

What's best soluction?

What i think is GPU AMD 7990, R7990-6GD5, with motherboard ASRock crafted for mining with 4 entries for GPU; good cooling. Windows 7 e cgminer 3.7.2.

5376 Kh/s in a litecoin "ASIC".

do you have better ideas?

Your prices are better than competition (eg. CEX.io)

haha given cex's prices I think it is not too difficult!  Grin
107  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPENING NOW] TerraMiner IV – 2TH/s (February) - SHARES AVAILABLE on: January 16, 2014, 09:29:45 PM
Hello !

Why you don't keep it and mine for you ? It is a 2 TH/s ASIC miner you will get ROI for sure.
Why do you need to sell shares ?

I prefer sell one and have a profit immediatly and sure(10 blocks of 200shares are 11 BTC enough to pay more than 1 miner).
108  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPENING NOW] TerraMiner IV – 2TH/s (February) - SHARES AVAILABLE on: January 16, 2014, 05:29:35 PM
sorry but how can i decide a date? maybe they will delivery after 1 month.. how can I know that? If I have to decide a date I have to think about that, I can't give you an answer right now.

I will write a date for no delivery in the topic with in 1 week.
109  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Interest in a GPU Group Buy? on: January 16, 2014, 04:57:46 PM
anyone can get a good quote for some GPU? if yes pm me I'm really interested to buy...
110  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: TerraMiner IV – 2TH/s (February) - SHARES AVAILABLE on: January 16, 2014, 04:30:21 PM
what about refund if late/no delivery?

If no delivery "full refund" / if late delivery "no refund". I'm gonna hold all btc at the payments address so it could be a "warranty" for refund if cointerra won't delivery.

I would not like refund before delivery for any situation, but we could talk about that. Just please don't place your order if you are not convinced about mining.
111  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Interest in a GPU Group Buy? on: January 16, 2014, 02:38:16 PM
what about open a group buy? I will participate! I think litecoins will take off this year.. when ltc will be over 60$ with a radeon 7970 or 7990 will be really profitable mining.. I think price will take off suddenly.
112  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: what's the most efficient mining hardware available? (bachelor thesis) on: January 16, 2014, 02:28:42 PM
Hi,

A direct answer to your question would be a stolen one using somebody else's power. $:MH/s ratio would be infinite and running costs would be nil. Any bitcoins mined would be profit. An answer you're probably looking for though is the KNC Neptune.

It's also worth bearing in mind that Bitcoin is not the only cryptocurrency you can mine. There are many others, and more importantly, many others that can use the same hardware to mine. These smaller crypto-currencies, along with the benefit of easy to use exchanges may pose opportunities to the small fish.

Good luck on your thesis. Rather you than me.

knc neptune in terms of $:GH/s is less advantageous than terraminer iv but both have shipping very late.
113  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What's next? ( - Mining Hardware - ) on: January 16, 2014, 01:51:34 PM
Really.... extreme miners? are they scam 100%? should be very nice have 7.5TH/s...but I can't believe it.
114  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it that BTC are more expensive in Euros then in $ on: January 16, 2014, 01:43:26 PM
cos every people buy it in $ so it has a bigger market in $ than in €. If you want to buy some coins in € from asks you will make the price grows so fast (cos there are big difference between offers).

Not a good time to pre-order. Massive hashing power coming online this quarter, mining companies can't build quick enough. Network hashrate will be terrifying by May.

But... where will the power come from if the companies can't build it?

The companies are building it. Just there is more demand than they can keep up with.

People should stop keep preorder useless miner for May!!! than maybe companies can work.
120  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What's next? ( - Mining Hardware - ) on: January 14, 2014, 11:19:55 PM
All right! I'm waiting for my order at cointerra that should delivery in February, at today I'm mining by 500gh/s bitfury.

Seen the long pre-order queque in every mining hardware site I'm asking to myself if it is the time to order next miner? and which one?
I was thinking something greater like buying chips 28nm from cointerra and than make my own miner hardware. Anyone got experience about it? http://cointerra.com/chip-veterans-form-new-startup-will-sell-high-end-bitcoin-miner-14000/

give your answers!

February will be still good
