101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It has come to my attention, that everyone here is retarded. Please Read. on: August 21, 2014, 10:13:17 PM
This thead is entitled "It has come to my attention, that everyone here is retarded. Please Read". If the OP thinks everyone here is retarded, then he must think he is himself retarded, as he is here himself. Otherwise why is this thread not entitled "It has come to my attention, that everyone here is retarded (except me)"?

Golf clap for Spud21
OP certainly has a point tho

103  Economy / Services / Re: Possibly Looking For Someone To Collect On Debts Owed To Me on: August 21, 2014, 05:11:00 PM
Fuck it, its probably gone.  Looking at the address, it seems to be a shipping depo of some sort.   Probably a fake drop or something.  Man this pisses me off.  How could the address be verified on Paypal, and Ebay say go ahead and ship it, but there is obviously no one living there?

Everyone who has ever sold 1 item on Ebay knows that Ebay only protects Buyers.
I have been burned by scammer buyers on that garbage site 4 times.
All members were "verified" by Ebay.

Im not sure how anyone would be willing to sell something over $100 on that site... you are almost better off listing on craigslist and meeting the buyer in the middle of a cornfield at midnight or in an alley in Cleveland.

I hope you get your money OP...its not looking good tho since Ebay doesnt care about Sellers.

104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are miners HODLers? on: August 20, 2014, 11:14:46 PM
I'm miner. I do not directly sell the coins, and also does not hold for too long.
When I need some cash, I'll sell it.

I myself agree with this. I also feel that most miners are in this boat

106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alts killing each other and the flood of alts will strengthen LTC's position on: August 20, 2014, 10:43:08 PM
Litecoin's position does NOT appear to be strengthening. In fact, it looks there's been a fundamental trend change in how litecoin rises and falls relative to bitcoin:

you're talking about price not value.

(quoted ur message too keep your point, deleted your chart as you've already posted that to another thread in this section).

I'm talking about both price and value. And how about just a link to the chart since you don't want the chart itself in your thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=68655.msg8442609#msg8442609

I say pay attention to giving your crypto real value, real world useability and price will take care of itself. and personally I find litecoins real world useability, acceptance etc on the increase.

Charts hold very little meaning to me (and thats coming from a fulltime daytrader for over a decade).

I would love to see LTC recover from the last few months...only time will tell and no one has a crystal ball.
Real world useability is defo the most important thing.

If people dont understand something & cant use it easily, it will collect dust

This is EXACTLY why bitcoin has and will meet heavy resistance in the future. Those in control of wealth dont want to start from scratch again...
As it stands, you need alot of money to get involved in high finance.
With bitcoin, you have just as much control over those bits as he does. You are free to put every single one where ever you want.

Bitcoin won't force them to start again; there are already (and will continue to be) ways to move your existing wealth into bitcoins.  However, bitcoins do level the playing field.  Corrupt third world governments will find it much harder to steal bitcoins from their citizens.  They will find it very hard to even know if they have any wealth.  The ability to earn, store and move wealth around would make a huge difference to the world's poorest.

I hear that mobile phone credits are used as a kind of pseudo-currency already in parts of Africa.  No one on this forum will need the danger of that explaining to them; but it's obvious that the people doing that are only one step away from bitcoins already.  Bitcoins facilitate trade, and trade is what will pull third world nations out of their poverty hole.

Pretty sure we are saying the same thing worded differently...Its estimated that around 2015 most transactions will be done via mobile phone. Bills being paid, petro and other resources purchased, mortage being paid, shopping etc.

It simply makes sense that bitcoin or something of the sort would be the means goods and services get moved from place to place in the future. Fiat currency is doomed and anyone who is awake knows it.

Im just honestly glad im here now, reading these forums with you guys.

Computers for everyone. How will 3rd world countries get, earn, mine for bitcoins if they don't have computers?
How do people in 3rd world countries mines gold, oil, or other resources? The poor of any country will be left behind in the digital age much like they have been left behind currently. Near the end of the Roman empire, the top 1% owned over 16% of all the wealth, today in America the top 1% own over 40%.....

Are this stats realistic? Really?
I'm almost hesitant to doubt them.
The only one of those I know is true is that if you have spare money in the bank, you are among the worlds top 8% in wealth.
Me goggling while writing my post: Its actually 38 some percent of the wealth belong to the top 1%, so some projections might place it over 40.
Honestly, I think bitcoin might be the enabler that allows the lower classes to jump that gap.

110  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in BTC to Preserve Wealth - Silly or Practical ? on: December 23, 2011, 04:05:58 AM
gold has had its 15 years of up trend... Going Extremely high a few months ago. but whats stopping gold from dropping. isn't this a highly speculative market as well?

the safest place to store your wealth is in your own life, enjoy your money!

buy a house! buy some beer, buy a super hot computer, wtv you want.
buy some bitcoins and spend them! support something you believe in.

money / things are not wealth

invest in your life!

Clap Clap BRAVO- +1

115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to funds sent to invalid payment address? on: December 22, 2011, 03:41:44 PM
Hypothetical question: If there are 21 million bitcoins and multiple users send 7 million bitcoins to nonactive(bad addresses) wouldnt this drive up the price of the other 14 million coins since a third of the entire currency is out of "circulation?"
116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Easiest way to acquire Bitcoins? on: December 22, 2011, 03:26:15 PM

Bingo. the fact that you don't pay money for something doesn't make it free. I point that out to my wife -what seems like- all the time.
