May be. But only idiots will spend money like this. The oil money will not last for an infinite period of time. Right now, the price of Brent Crude is $49 per barrel, which is down from $110 in 2014. The Arab population is increasing, and it is doubling every 15 or 20 years. These people need to save some money for the future generations, rather than wasting it in building indoor ski slopes. They know it, their oil is not going to last more than 100 years. They are futureproofing the economy by turning it into a tourism hotspot. Tourism is already playing a major role in Dubai's economy. As the country has no natural beauty or pleasant weather, man made attractions are only what they are relying on |
