101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon is (unfortunately) a scam. Here is why. on: January 30, 2013, 10:15:36 PM
I can only hope that everyone gets their orders and they all work minus 2 - 3 lemons.

At least ONE person got his. It's stange how all the Chinese orders haven't gotten theirs yet, but the one influential voice in the BTC community got his. I wouldn't be surprised if it "Gets even more GH than claimed!".

We'll see how that one goes. Price increase in batch 2... BTC only... No customer service... If it doesn't work when you get it, "too bad". They are going to walk away with the money. Let Jeff leave his DAZZLING review of the product. We'll see batch 2 sell out and Avalon disappear.

Cheers!  Grin
102  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC has Begun? on: January 30, 2013, 04:12:12 PM
So what about all of the mainland China orders? 10 days is a bit long to ship something from China to China.

Fucking scrubs defending the Avalon scam.
103  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon is (unfortunately) a scam. Here is why. on: January 29, 2013, 10:16:49 PM
Your response "stinks", as coming from an insecure person "breathing" lies...

This is precisely why most people running bitcoin businesses or writing bitcoin software think the forum is a ghetto.

Back to ignore, you.

To bad the people running bitcoin businesses are all scammers. Look at bitcoinasic.net.... Who would have thought Tom to be a scammer? What a shame.

The community may talk down on "businesses", but with good reason.
104  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: January 29, 2013, 06:11:16 PM
UPDATES FOR 2ND BATCH

So, we have a problem. Avalon need the money before this weekend starts to place orders for the parts. For those unbelievers, let's hope Jeff receives his unit before batch #2 starts selling on EST 9:00 AM, January 31st, 2013.

The spec is 6.6 ~ 6.7w per Gh/s. Speed is greater than 60Gh/s, batch size is 600, each unit is $1,500, payment gateway is provided by WalletBit, units will ship starting March 6th to April 5th, 2013.

Keep an eye on http://launch.avalon-asics.com as new information will be released on it every day until review happens.

The following is the no bullshit, no fine print terms of sales for Avalon batch #2.

  • Bitcoin Only - Batch #2 of Avalon will only accept bitcoins. Only Bitcoin will allow us to move half a million USD in a few hours into places they are suppose to go to. This will also allow us to automate the order system. I am aware some EU and SA country will have importing issues due to customs, but I see a possibility for re-sellers to grow and take care of this problem.
  • No Refunds - Avalon has always been a BTO - Build to Order unit, we order materials and parts based on the size of each batch, this allows proper financial management, eliminate back-orders and improve overall efficiency and workflow on how we work. How else did you expect us to produce a functional ASIC unit in the same length of time a competitor has been delayed?
  • No Proof - Jeff and/or Bitcoin Foundation will get their unit and release reviews. Let me remind everyone what I've said month(s) ago, we can not stop people from tinkering and releasing information regarding our product, but we seldom will release any information. We will instead focusing more on killer features, some of which is already hidden in our unit. In this highly cutthroat competitive field, we do what we can to survive.

I applaud every potential customer to think over this carefully, and make the decision seem right to you, and only you. Although I must say: life isn't about "making sure" but rather "enduring the uncertainty".

p.s.
You know Inaba, after all this I think I may have understand your mentality: that moment when people assault on what you believe to be the truth with assumptions and generalizations that has really no merit to the situation at hand.

It is hard not to get mad.

However, I must warn you, don't place trust in the wrong people and what they tell you; for when that moment comes you won't able to meet the advertised specifications, at no real fault of you own besides ignorance since you really believed BFL. Be ready to take the spear to the chest as you were their spoke person. I wish you the best of luck and hope BFL can ship on time for when that time comes this forum can go back into the ol' days of competitive spirit of reducing power consumption and increasing hashrate of each others product.

Just by reading those *Fine print* terms, they are setting up a large heist. Best of luck to all of you. *BITCOINS* only and *NO REFUNDS*.

Best of luck to all of you. Looks like people will just have to wait on shitty BFL.
105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC customers - Are you quitting or switching? on: January 15, 2013, 05:26:45 PM
I would prefer to order from Avalon... Because FUCK BFL.
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 15, 2013, 05:20:35 PM
Typical BTC drama. I had a preorder with him too.

What a shame.

108  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] MtGox Volatility Trading Bot [GMVT-BOT] on: November 29, 2012, 05:17:04 AM
Just quick update for my investors. I ran some calculations, how the bots were performing since closing of GLBSE and what the liquidation of asset would mean for investors.
Since last dividend was paid at the end of September bots performed as follows:

StartEndProfitMan. FeeDividend%
28.9.201227.11.20127.2599810.7259980.0024202.42%

So if everything was as usual, the dividend at this time for past 2 months would be 0.002420 per share. As I'm considering to close down the operation (as per contract I'm allowed to do it), I calculated how much BTC would we have after liquidation of bot accounts and after conversion of fiat money that bots are working with. At this time at current prices that would bring us 262.776739191142 BTC (this includes unpaid dividends as calculated above). With 17.00892 BTC that was already paid as dividends before shut-down of GLBSE, I consider this project a success even after liquidation as I initially planned to run this for longer. I got 270 BTC from investors and total value produced for investors is at this time 279.785659191142 BTC.
After liquidation, each share is (at this time) entitled to 0.09732471821894 BTC. IPO price per share was 0.1 BTC. I expect that not all shares will be claimed so I will pay 0.1 BTC per share, which I think is a fair deal. Even after all shares are claimed I can pay 0.1 BTC per share as the difference is minimal.

I plan to continue to run bots with my own money afterwards (hopefully I will get as much BTC as possible from various assets I owned on GLBSE and invest them here). If there's a strong opposition to my plan of closing down the operation, I may consider to move this asset to some other exchange (BTCT.CO?) and continue to pay dividends from there. Paying dividends on my own is not something I would like to do as it is prone to errors Smiley

------------------

Unfortunately I didn't receive the shareholders information from Nefario yet, so nothing can be done at this time  Undecided

I hope you don't close this down! I prefer things like this vs investing in a mining operation. The project was a huge success. I started trading on www.cryptostocks.com and it's not bad.  It just don't have the amount of volume that GLBSE had.

I do feel that if more companies such as yours found their way over there, that it would become a better place!

Either way, I appreciate the updates!

I would like to know this answer as well. Thanks in advance

Seeing that OP is old, I'd still be interested in meeting up... I don't think anything was ever organized. There HAS to be more Bitcoiners than those that replied here in Austin!
