So I have this old wallet file from 2-3 years ago with a couple of coins. I downloaded the new wallet and long story short, apparently there was a swap, so it doesn't work anymore.
Is the swap still active? I'm looking to several threads looking for info but I'll just ask here.

Ah, maybe you could share your old client application and start running an alternative fork....SMILE....Maybe, there are others who can also benefit from the old chain....I don't know how much of the old chain was burnt in the exchange because I'm still new to this project but that's one idea....I apologize if it may be obtuse, but it's something. Thanks for the link....To save me some time searching, is there a link to the specifications of the swap? Was there a swap? A fork? If there was just a fork instead of a "swap and burn," couldn't these guys who have the older clients containing coins just update their client to access their coins? The current BitcoinPlus coin has been running since May 2015. It is effectively a NEW coin. The current team arranged it so that coins on the old chain (old XBC) could be swapped on a 1 to 1 basis at Poloniex. All old coins were sent into Poloniex accounts. Any record that exists is held with Poloniex. The issue is now 2 years later there is no way of validating any coins on the old chain. Current XBC team do not hold a record of who held XBC in May 2015 or who has swapped and who hasn't swapped. The cut off was when Poloinex distributed the coins as they kindly handled everything for the XBC Team at the time. Now that XBC has some value again it will attract people to come out of the woodwork claiming to have old coins without providing any proof and no way of providing proof without a working blockchain. Sadly some will be telling the truth and some not. Yes, I can see how that would happen. I guess my question is: was their a fork or just a swap? If there was a fork then the old coins would still be in the new chain and the old chain would still contain the old coins....right? Those that have the old clients can just connect their nodes and make what they can of the alternative chain. However, if it was a swap to a totally new chain and they missed the announcement....that's their bad because there is no obligation to honor a swap---they still have what they paid for and they can do what they can to support their own chain <---it would be nice to know what happened to the swapped coins (burnt, dormant wallets...etc) so that an accurate market capitalization can be attained if the old chain is resurrected, right? We are on a completely new chain.The old original chain wasnt forked and a fulll node and old client was even left running for almost a year by a team member in case any late stragglers arrived so their coins could be verified as long as the old chain was alive but that is finished now. |

All other threads including original thread has broken/corrupt/possibly malicious links and we have asked the moderator here to lock them or post a notice to warn people but they have refused to help. If you download a wallet from the old thread which we have no access to in order to edit it you will lose your coins if you attempt to send coins to an old wallet on a dead chain. |

I cannot get my wallet to open after extracting it.I have done everything correctly so far but when I click on the qt it gives runtime error with stuff like c/programme files/user etc and no appdata files found and 70 files missing among many other errors but I have deleted everything and downloaded a new wallet and same thing.Has anyone this problem or can someone advise please?
Where did you download the wallet?What version??Only download wallets on this thread or the official website because if you download a wallet off an old thread and send to an old address or wallet on a different chain your coins are lost forever and there is nothing we can do to help. If however you have downloaded a correct version from either here or the website and done everything correctly then there should be no problem.Current version and chain is 100% flawless. If your operating system on your computer is windows make sure you have a windows client etc because a windows client doesnt work on mac and vice versa. If your appadata directory is missing then you would have to repair your system on your computer but type in your search box %Appdata% to see if roaming directory is there first.If it is you can probably start the client from within this area by just dropping the client in there and extracting it but you would have to search %Appdata% everytime you need to open the client or if you can make up a shortcut and point it there etc. Pm me if you still have issue or contact mammix2. |

I have XBC in my wallet from May 2014. But it seems to does not synchronize.
So I downloaded recent macOS bitcoinplus-qt wallet application.
But I am getting this message, when I try to open it with my wallet.dat file.
"Warning: error reading wallet.dat! All keys read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect."
Could you help me, please?
The old XBC stalled and was abandoned by the original team/devs so the community was forced to develop a whole new codebase from scratch or it would be delisted from poloniex.The community members who funded the new coin gave anyone who lodged with their coins on poloniex a chance to have them swapped 1:1 for the new coin and poloniex were in charge of this swap.Many months of notice were given here,website,poloniex,about this so anyone who didnt take advantage of the swap still has their coins on the old chain. |

Did anyone saw what happened in the altcoin market today? All the coins with " bit " or " bitcoin " are pumped massively. One coin " Bitcoin Plus " was pumped above 100 dollars at a point in time. Anyone knows what happened in the altcoin market? Is bitcoin going to die? https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-plus/No logical explanation for that rise in price and anybody buying at this all time high is either a fool or knows something even the team members dont because even they havent a clue what the fuck just happened. |

I see only 9164 XBC on sell side..quite interesting.

Take the Bitcoin or Litecoin source, make a new coin, with SegWit built-in from the group up and then you have a real bitcoinPLUS.
We wouldnt need to start with a new source afaik just a hardfork.I think Groestlcoin has already activated segwit with a hard fork and it didnt make any difference to their price but correct me if I am wrong. |
