101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud mining difficulty on: July 28, 2014, 05:39:05 AM
Cloud mining and having a physical miner is the same.  Cheesy

No it's not, don't mislead people. Your electricity costs might be higher and you might not know how to do maintenance, and that's why you do cloud mining. It's less hassle and less noise.

Cost of having someone else doing the maintenance doesn't come cheap.

hope the next President will be a woman
The real reason Obama was elected in both elections was because he is Black. He used the race card to get elected.

Yes, and he is backed by George Soro.

Escrow is process which a trusted person hold your coin when your seller ship/send you his merchant.

In case of non-delivery or scam, you have the right to request money back from the escrower.

Bitstamp is a bitcoin exchange located in Euro zone.

I don't think he realizes there are trading fees and withdrawal fees and deposit fees.
trading fees of even .2% would more then wipe out his profits.

The spread in the old day used to be wider. As more people trying to find way to profit from easy money, the profit diminished.
107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MoneyPak on: July 23, 2014, 02:43:02 AM
Does MoneyPak support any exchanges?

No exchange I know of currently accept MoneyPak as deposit.
108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MoneyPak on: July 22, 2014, 01:19:51 AM
I forgot who it was, but someone on this board once said everything can be reversed. There are just different levels of how hard and soft payments are.

PayPal is very soft.
Western Union and MoneyGram are hard.
MoneyPaks are somewhere in the middle.

When trading, you should do what works best for you. I personally cannot believe some people still sell for PayPal. But hey, it works for them. Or at least they think it does.

Yes.

And even wire transfer can be reversed.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEW ATH BY END OF JULY & $5000 PER BITCOIN BY END OF YEAR on: July 22, 2014, 01:18:05 AM
Guys, the prediction is unrealistic. Hitting $500 is more realistic..

$500 is more likely but after this period of stagnation is time to start another rally.
Maybe it won't hit 5000$, but 1500$ will be enough!

Stagnation is the sign for strong rally in the past.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "You should assume your IP address can be associated with you.." -Gavin Anderson on: July 20, 2014, 02:14:03 PM

Or you could use blockchain.info and use TOR to connect to blockchain.info

I've never been able to fully access the wallet section of blockchain.info using TOR, anybody else had these problems?

Though TOR is not safe anymore itself unless you are taking multiple other steps with it together.

If you look at cases where people have been identified when using TOR it's because they either had the stupid idea of logging into personally identifiable accounts at the same time as logging onto other sites they shouldn't be on.

People who assume TOR itself will keep you hidden are naive and wrong, how can one piece of software hide your identity if your foolish enough to do something like log into Facebook while on Silk Road?

Always assume someone is watching and prepare from that. That's why Bitcoin is so great, sure you can say address x did x transaction at y time, but you can't prove address x belongs to me unless I've confirmed ownership somewhere else. You could even apply this rule to IP addresses, sure that IP address is mine but can you prove it was it was me on my machine? For all you know it could have been a relative staying over or someone who decided to crack my AP and abuse it.

Tor traffic and messages are suppose to be encrypted and randomly routed to the destination. Meaning logging in silk road and facebook at the same time shouldn't compromise the user identity.

...
Looks like at best I will be half right by year end.

2500$ by year's end? Possible, but don't forget a small detail: you'll have to turn Chinese media positive on Bitcoin and have the PBoC reverse it's stance too.
Otherwise, in a bullish scenario, just breaking the ATH sometime in November - December. In a bearish scenario, capitulation below 340$.

There is a strong support at around 400 level, price below 350 is a good buy.

There is no competition to bitcoin yet. Doesn't mean there won't be one in the future.

Using fear is not a valid form of argument.

118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoin Trends That Have Emerged in 2014 on: July 15, 2014, 05:18:07 PM

This is pretty interesting. It is amazing that bitcoin is more popular than the original internet in terms of VC investment!

Can't really compare internet with bitcoin as you can own bitcoin and can't own internet.
