It would be interesting to understand how CEX works.
Couple of questions to start with: Let's take BTC/USDT pair.
1. Do a CEX create a new BTC wallet for every client and keeps the keys with them? Or there is one wallet for the BTC/USDT pair? 2. What exactly happens when you buy/sell BTC? Where that BTC goes actually? 3. How they know who has what amount of BTC? 4. What about other pairs? Like ETH/USDT? SOL/USDT?
Thanks.

Be very careful of who you listen too and make sure your not shopping for the answers you would like to hear. Remember those folks are there to sell ads or pump (Saylor). It's not all bad either, sometimes the have some ideas or indicators to follow up on your own about.
I've tracked all the big names like Wood, Pomp, Paul et al. They have all been equally as wrong or right. Charts are a joke... I to listen to Dalio on the markets, he has an excellent grip on the history and why of things.
The news is a joke mostly and the government lies and manipulates data beyond recognition.
Watch actually news (numbers) and historical reactions from those real numbers.
getting investing news of media outlets would be akin to getting a wife off of onlyfans, or worse
After all that, by the numbers, we are in a recession after we are completely done exporting inflation.
Thank you for this. I have similar thoughts. The more I watch youtubers I am starting realise that most of them are just promoting their own youtube channels and making some money of course. On the other hand even those few 'honest' youtubers also might be wrong... after all this is market. And who knows where that beast is heading now, right? Then again, how and from where we should learn? I know this is big question, however, there should be sources of information one can check time to time and make his mind? What sources you usually try to keep up with?

I am quite new to the crypto, investing, economy and all that...so far really got interested in about a year ago. So far what I see is lots of lack of similarities in opinions of youtubers, blogers and mass media. Some sources are shouting like creasy that a great recession is coming and it will hurt everyone so bad like never did. More moderate youtubers are doing some analysis and basically what they saying is, well there could be recession, and that is ok, this is how you get markets cleaned up. And there is third part that says, no everything is ok... unemployment is high, GDP is rising so technically we are not in a recession.
So the question is, what is going on there, are we really heading to recession? (or this is how markets work, so that people always speculate? )

who is managing/controlling/guiding Bitcoin development?
The bitcoin users, and anybody who wants to, just run the bitcoin software that makes you a node, and you are part of the people managing and guding the bitcoin development, there is no leader or single human being that is in control, it is all collective stuff and that is why it is decentralized. Is there any team or a person behind all the decisions being made?
Bitcoin is an open source software and anybody can join in the decision making through running the full bitcoin software, those who do that are called nodes, and they alongside the miners communicate to validate transactions and reject the ones that are against the bitcoin protocol. So it goes without saying that there is no hidden or special team like in centralized services, anybody can be involved if they want to. I guess the code of Bitcoin was changed since Satoshi disappeared?
In centralized services one person or a small group can make a change, in bitcoin that is decentralized a change can't be made in that way or forced on the network, devs can implement additions to make the network better and more user-friendly like Lightning network implementation for example, but they can't make a change to the existing protocol because it won't be agreed upon by the entire community. thanks for the reply, I understand in general what you saying... however, at the end of the day someone probably approving pull requests right? I've just had quick look here if this is the correct repo: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pullsAnyway, I will look around and see

This probably silly question, still I just wonder if all other blockchain projects has a 'leader' (Vitalik for Eth, and Antoliy for SOL, etc) who is managing/controlling/guiding Bitcoin development? Is there any team or a person behind all the decisions being made? I guess the code of Bitcoin was changed since Satoshi disappeared?

According to this news article Binance will start offering CoinMarketCap Index Series. And now I am trying to understand how it will work? Like when you buy this index Binance will buy all those top 10 crypto assets in equal amount and keep it? I mean is there a real crypto assets behind the index?

What I've read is that USDT is backed up by Fiat funds stored in the bank as a guarantee for every transaction
this is it! can it be audited? was it audited?

I am trying to understand how USDT (or any other stablecoins) work. Is it true that USDT is just a contract on Ethereum? If it is true, then do we know its address? And another question is, how Teather emit new USDT whereas the contract can't be changed?
Usdt is a known stablecoin and minted as erc20 and live on ethereum network. But I believe there are usdt already on other chain too. Here: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/tetherYoull find all the contract address supported on different blockchain for tether. There is no need to change contract address when tether is being minted. It will be fixed and not change. If you found a newly minted usdt with different contract address then thats a scam. Even on Bitcoin network? It doesn't have smart contracts as far as I know

I had some ETH on my Ledger account during the merge. Is there anyway I can receive the same amount of ETHW? How do I do that? Anyone received actually?

So I saw some people discussing ETH/BTC ratio and I don't understand why this is important. (Or any other ratio where two coins are compared. ) So what does it tell you? Why some people look at it.

People are waiting for it because it will most likely pump the price. There are a lot of regulations which doesn't allow some institutions ti buy btc directly (such as pension funds), but they can buy an ETF.
So Bitcoin ETF is 'synthetic asset' that tracks Bitcoin price. However, when you buy ETF you don't buy BTC. Now the question is why pension funds can't buy real BTC, but they can buy its imitation? :-) And why SEC refuses to approve ETF? Is there any ideas why they don't want to approve it?
|
|
|
So there is a lot of noise about Bitcoin ETF. And now Grayscale is going to court on SEC as they get rejected again.
1. What is Bitcoin ETF? How does it work? 2. Why is so important? 3. What will it do to the market? 4. Why people are waiting for it? ( it seems it should make big news) 5. Why people can't just buy BTC instead of BTC ETF?
Thanks.

Time to time I read about on-chain analysis showing this and that. I guess some people or companies really know how to do on-chain analysis. So, since the data is available from the chain, can we do our analysis? Is there any resources to learn? Thanks.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. I do have Nano wallet, so all my coins are with me :-) And on the BTC, I am sure it is good price to enter now, however, the possibility of DCAing ETH and SOL is really attracting for me :-) If not them, I am sure I could just grab some BTC. Anyway, thanks, I will see what I can do.
